hey what's going on it's Doug Pennington
here and this is one of those vlog
updates so normally I talk about
affiliate marketing and maybe project
management SEO other random of things
but every now and then I just talk about
myself and record some video which I
actually enjoy quite a lot even though I
maybe don't put as much time and effort
as I should just because it's hard to
record and do at the same time but
sometimes you have to do two things at
once
Cheers a little beer while I'm telling
you about what's been going on so it's
been quite busy around here
lease here at the apartment is up pretty
soon you have to give like 60 days
notice and one interesting thing say
we're raising the rent they are raising
the rent on us and we have a beautiful
field you can't see it but it's a it's a
field which faces east and it's quite
nice I think it's about 300 ish acres
like 250 to 350 acres something like
that and it's been nice it's pretty
chill pretty quiet a lot of geese hang
out like kind of the wintertime it's
quite pleasant it's a beautiful view and
you kind of forget they're in a
metropolitan area of like three
million-plus people
it looks like farm lane you know anyway
they are actually starting a mine over
there they're starting to do their
preliminary stuff it's gonna be a gravel
mine they're mining rocks so it's gonna
be pretty loud I think I can't
wait to move out of here
our lease is up the raising the rent
it's gonna be way less pleasant so this
location was like kind of prime before
but at this point it's going to suck
moving forward so I'm excited to move
out of here we did have an offer on a
place which you know I went on a walk
with Georgie looked like it was going to
be pretty awesome a very established
neighborhood but after the inspection we
decided to walk it wasn't like a
disaster or anything like that but
was over 20 years old and there were a
lot of like major cost on the horizon so
HVAC that's heating and air roof was
probably gonna be an issue and a few
other things one interesting was um
there's an unfinished basement and it
was fine down there you know it looked
like there was not any major flooding or
any major issues but there were a lot of
dead spiders a lot of dead wolf spiders
there were a lot of egg sacs
all around so there were gonna be like
way more spiders and I would have
thought it was like from like a bug bomb
or some sort of insect and pest control
you know insecticide basically their
rack meds you know for the biologists
out there but basically I expected you
know they that they were killed
intentionally but the inspector the home
inspector was like I think there's a
predator I think there's maybe a black
widow that's killing these things so
anyway that freaked my wife out a little
bit she's not like skittish about
spiders but it was like there's a
predator around here killing wolf
spiders by the hundred I mean there were
a lot of spiders like there were a lot
of dead spiders a lot probably you know
a hundred of them across the like
different areas so anyway it's a little
weird in that way it could have been a
fine house it was bigger than we needed
and what we found instead is like a new
development so we're sort of pending a
contract right now we're like almost
they're still negotiating
I enjoy negotiation at this point in
time especially when you have options
like I don't know that we actually have
leverage but it's like a new
construction in the fact that we are
negotiating is better than some of the
other like new constructions that have
seen and heard about where basically
they just have like a list price and you
add a bunch of other stuff on there and
you end up with some amount and you have
very little negotiating room so the fact
that they're negotiating it's good for
us so we're looking forward to it it's a
little bit smaller of a home which
actually suits us fine and I am pumped
because instead of like three bedrooms
it's two bedrooms
in a study and the study is set up much
like my friend's place which is wrong
Stefanski over one our professor check
out his youtube channel by the way the
study doesn't have a closet and instead
of like a normal bedroom door it's like
I think it's like French doors so it's
like double doors with windows so pretty
cool layout and I'm pumped to have like
an actual proper office that I could set
up put my whiteboard maybe some sort of
inspirational posters or some other
like that we'll see we'll see
what we'll do with all of that and then
I'll be able to like put up my lighting
setup and just kind of have proper spot
so that but it's gonna be awesome I'm
very much looking forward to that so
another interesting thing that happened
I guess it was like I was like a week
ago is I think I may have gotten a mild
concussion
I'm not 100% sure it would be very mild
on the scale but basically I was like
hanging out kind of snuggling with
Georgie on the ground when she's like
hanging out on the ground right now
she's like down there she was just
hanging out on the floor
and I sort of like crouched down and I
was petting her rubbing her belly you
know we're just snuggling on the floor
just normal human dog interaction and
she was on her back right so she was on
her back showing her belly she likes to
do that quite a lot and a quick plug to
Georgie the border collie on Instagram
if you want to follow her and anyway so
it was kind of petting Georgie and then
my wife got one of Georgie's squeaky
toys and then squeaked it so Georgie
immediately flipped over jumped up and
then the top at Georgie's head hit my
chin my jaw hit really hard my head went
back a little bit and it rung my bell
pretty good and I was about to go out
for a walk walk for a few miles and like
you know just go do stuff and I
immediately was like I'm not going
anywhere I don't feel good I feel tired
and I want
my wife was convinced that I did not
have a concussion she she was like I
thought maybe you broke your jaw or
broke some teeth so it was loud like
when my teeth hit together I was like
just happy I didn't bite my
tongue off man
it was hard and of course George a small
she's like a 40-pounder but she turned
around and stood up like super fast so
my understanding which maybe people can
leave a comment doctors let me know
basically I think it was the super fast
motion that like jarred my head and the
fact that my chin you know got hit and I
don't know I don't know what what
happened but basically I didn't feel
good for like the next I don't know 48
hours obviously I made it through I feel
like I couldn't find the words and
actually now that I'm trying to talk now
I'm like it's been about a week and I'm
still struggling at times to find the
right word to say and I know I can
mostly get close to the word that I'm
trying to say but I can't quite get the
exact word that I'm looking for most of
the time maybe I'm like that all the
time I don't know anyway my wife was
like well if you really want me to take
you to the doctor I can't I was like I
don't want to go to the doctor I'm
pretty sure they were just gonna say
like rest and blah blah blah I was
mostly okay I didn't drive for like a
day and a half or so just I mean I
didn't need to but I was kind of like no
probably not the best thing if I think
that I'm concussed
so anyway turned out okay you know I'm
alive but I think that is the only time
that I've gotten a concussion
even though then hidden had many times
in the past so I think I pulled through
my wife kept saying I don't think you
got a concussion I saw it I don't think
it was that bad I think you just got
your bell rung from what I know like
having your bell rung is basically a
mild concussion so anyway I pulled
through it
I pulled through new update here this
one's probably a little bit more
interesting for some folks but I am I've
volunteered as a mentor for
this accelerator so I'm chatting with
like local entrepreneurs and folks
involved with startups to help mentor
them so pretty cool it's a organization
called entrepreneurship for all or if or
all and they're originally based out of
the Massachusetts area and seems to be a
great organization there's a lot of
activity in Massachusetts but they're
also set up here in Longmont Colorado I
think it's the only location that is
outside of you know Massachusetts so
it's pretty cool I was trying to become
more involved in the just community here
and I I do have some skills and
entrepreneurship and from a project
management standpoint although a lot of
people don't necessarily need that sort
of organizational know-how but I do have
that as well and it's been pretty cool
to just you know work with some you know
people that want to start a company it's
very new I'll put it that way so I
haven't been super involved because it's
so new and in fact no one else around
here has done this specifically but I've
met another couple mentors and it's just
a network of folks that I'll now be able
to hang out with and you know network do
you know networking kind of things and
also improving like hopefully my
mentorship and helping you know a
company start right here in the
community that I live in which is really
cool over doing other stuff that is like
very disconnected like if I can help
people right in the community it's
awesome so II for all you should check
it out I mean there's probably not much
you could do directly but you just kind
of see what I'm working on - next is
just random fun stuff so number one on
Sunday mornings here in the Longmont
Colorado area there's a bowling alley
and it's pretty cheap so for
two-and-a-half hours you get unlimited
bowling for thirty bucks so basically
you reserved a lane my wife's actually
in a bowling league we have our own
bowling balls and stuff like that
and I'm terrible I haven't bowled much
in the last like five or six years but I
did Bowl a couple nice frames out there
I got a few strikes in a row and I think
my first game I can't remember I think
it was like one was either 130 or 150 I
mean it was like pretty legit like I
would be happy with that score if I did
that you know 1 out of 3 games which is
exactly what happened IRA tried to
record some I knock down all the pins
but the caveat is actually I kind of got
nervous when I was recording so I bowled
a gutter ball bowled a gutter ball right
off so when I'm knocking down all the
pins here and you see that pretty good
form there that is this second that's
the second ball there alright this is
the second ball but I still knocked them
all down I got a few strikes it was a
fun day and we may be doing a little
more bowling you know here in the
wintertime it's cold outside sometimes
so it's good to do some outdoor or sorry
some indoor activities when it's not so
nice outside so that's my update for
this time around let me know if you dig

point it gets a little boring I'll be
honest with you it's a little boring you
just talk about the same stuff all the
time so we're branching out we're doing
the vlogs every now and then just random

course of a few days just jointed it
doesn't quite work out but maybe you
know we got some b-roll to make it
