Instagram has
1 billion active users 500
million of which log in every single day
in this video we're going to show you
how to get the coveted blue check mark
and get verified even if you have little
to no following so stay tuned
so what actually is it what does that
little blue checkmark mean that people
want so badly on Instagram well
according to Instagram what being
verified actually means is that
Instagram has verified the authenticity
of a public figure celebrity or global
brand so just to be clear being verified
actually was created by Instagram to
signify authenticity that the Instagram
account is actually owned by who it
appears to be owned by and for years the
mystery behind the magical blue
checkmark was the holy grail of
Instagram trying to figure out how to
actually get that blue checkmark if you
weren't some massive celebrity but the
problem was and nobody knew where to ask
to actually get verified and nobody knew
how to actually get verified and up
until recently those coveted blue
checkmarks were in fact only given to a
massive celebrity accounts or you know
you could actually go and try to pay
thousands of dollars on the black market
to have somebody verify you most of the
time which you'd actually just get your
money stolen and not in fact get the
beautiful blue checkmark but the good
news is for everyday people like you and
me Instagram has now changed this and
allowed anyone anywhere to apply to
actually be verified and so how do we
actually do this well the first thing
you're going to want to do is log in and
go to your profile click the little
three line bars at the top right corner
go to settings at the bottom click it
options are gonna appear and what you
want to do is scroll down to request a
verification click on that form pops up
fill in your username your full-name and
then what you're going to want to do is
attach a picture of a government-issued
piece of ID like a driver's license or
passport and after you submit and now we
have to wait if your account gets
verified you will be notified and you'll
get that beautiful blue checkmark right
next to your username but unfortunately
submitting for verification does not
guarantee that you will actually in fact
be verified according to some friends of
mine who work inside of Instagram
generally what they're looking for is
accounts that do have a substantial
number of followers what that doesn't
mean that there aren't some fun ways to
actually go about trying to be verified
I have friends and family members who
actually are verified with less than
many of which are athletes or musicians
there's actually a hack that I've heard
about and I don't know whether or not
this works but I've heard about people
actually creating a musical album
uploading it to iTunes themselves and
meaning to be verified as a musician
when in fact they're actually not so
don't give up hope if you do have a
small following because I know people
with only a few thousand followers who
are in fact verified and I also know
people who have over a hundred thousand
who are not and so the moral of the
story guys is what do you have to lose
right it takes five seconds to actually
submit for verification not everyone is
