so how much money does a successful
youtuber actually make because if you
think about it you probably watch
youtubers because you think they're
interesting and relatable but how
relatable would a youtuber be if you
knew that they were making tens of
thousands of dollars every single day
and the first thing I actually want to
point out is although I have four
on YouTube that number of subscribers is
actually a very meaningless to how much
money I actually make because when it
comes to revenue actually paid from
YouTube you can have 10 million
subscribers but if you're not getting
any views you're not going to make any
money and then on the flip side of that
there's people like PewDiePie who's
obviously the king of YouTube has 85
million or some comical amount of
subscribers and he gets millions of
views per day and we're gonna talk about
how much you actually get paid per
million views in just a few minutes so
you can actually have an idea of how
much these big youtubers actually make
from YouTube because I promise you is
probably gonna surprise you and before
we actually get into you know some of my
specific numbers I do want to say that
you know I'm not doing this to boast or
brag I'm literally just trying to show
you you know that this is an opportunity
and that it is very real to make a very
significant amount of money with YouTube
but again you know I know there's gonna
be some comments saying you know Kevin
he's lying he's a faker he's just trying
to brag right he's cocky I promise you
if you watch my channel you know that
that's not who I am I'm literally just
trying to show you you know the
opportunities that you have when you're
thinking about starting your own path
into entrepreneurship and so let's jump
right in right you can see my social
blade right here and the reason that I'm
not actually gonna show my real YouTube
dashboard it's because I've heard from a
lot of big youtubers and some friends of
mine that YouTube doesn't really like
people to share exactly what they earn
so we're gonna be working in estimates
but I will tell you guys you know within
a few thousand dollars how much we are
making from all of my different sources
of income on YouTube and then directly
from YouTube in the form of ad revenue
and that you obviously get from getting
additional views right so on social
blade you can see that they're
estimating that I make between four
hundred and seventy two dollars and
seven point six thousand dollars per
month right and I can tell you guys that
you know the highest recommendation or
the highest estimate that socialblade
saying that we make is actually about
four times
too low right so we're making actually
over four times as much as socialblade
is saying that we make every single
month so we're making you know over
thirty thousand dollars every single
month I'm just from YouTube ad the
reason that they're so wildly inaccurate
is because social blade is trying to
guess with one formula what a thousand
different types of content are actually
getting paid right so what CPM actually
means is cost per thousand views so
YouTube will people will pay a pranker
right $2 or $3 every thousand views that
they actually get right so when a prank
video releases and they gets a million
views that that prank youtuber is
probably making between two and three
thousand dollars revenue per million
views on their video right but for
entrepreneurship for example you can
make you know ten times that before your
CPM which means that if you get a
thousand views on your video for
entrepreneurship you're making thirty
dollars for your CPM when a prank er is
only making two or three dollars right
so if you get a million views on an
entrepreneurship video you can literally
make thirty thousand dollars or more
just from that one video which is why
it's so wildly different when it comes
to going viral on YouTube how much
you're actually able to make is heavily
dependent on what you're making content
about if you look on social blade up
here where it says video views you can
see that we have over 14 million views
right and we talked about what the CPM
was you know give or take a few dollars
I'm for Entrepreneurship channels right
if they make you know high quality
videos at $30 per thousand views right
so you can you know get your Einstein on
and actually do the math of how much
we've made you know total in the last a
little over a year and a half since we
really started to seriously get into
YouTube but you know it starts to add up
very very quickly if you're doing things
right and for all my mattresses out
there drop a comment down below that
says how much you think we've made total
from those 14 million views and whoever
gets the closest number we will shout
you out and feature you on our next
video and so a question that I get all
the time is Kevin how long should I make
my videos right what's the perfect
length of time to make a YouTube video
and the answer is
YouTube really prefers that you make
videos that are between 10 and 12
minutes right I found that to be the
sweet spot as long as it's 10 minutes or
longer because what that allows you to
do is put a second ad into your video
right so what we personally do is we put
an ad before our video we put an ad
after the end of our video and sometimes
if we have really long videos we'll even
put in what's called a mid-roll ad so
that we're actually you know getting
multiple points of ad revenue per video
right and when I first started I thought
to myself oh well you know I'm not gonna
put any ads on my video I hate YouTube
ads right but the problem is that people
don't realize that YouTube is a business
right YouTube's a business and they like
to get paid like every business and so
YouTube actually won't promote your
video organically unless YouTube is
getting paid and so what I found out was
when I tried to have no ads on my video
right none of my videos were taking off
but then once I started to put more ads
on my videos and YouTube was making more
money from those videos YouTube started
to promote those videos so that they
made even more money and so it's kind of
this counterintuitive thing that the
more advertisements that you have you
know without being obnoxious the more
money YouTube makes and the more money
YouTube makes the more they actually
want to push your video um and promote
your video for you which gives you a
much higher chance to actually go viral
right and when you go viral that's when
everything can change overnight another
way that a lot of the big youtubers
actually make money is through
partnerships right so you'll notice that
if you follow people like PewDiePie for
example he's always selling that chair
he sits on right so he either owns that
company or he makes a significant amount
of money every time one of those chairs
sells from his channel right so he
probably makes a freaking fortune
selling those chairs and the reason he
can do that is because he has millions
of people watching every one of his
videos right so if you think about he
gets 10 million views in a single day
sometimes right and if he's making 2 to
$3,000 per million views right that's 20
to 30 thousand dollars a day from just a
single video Plus what he's making on
top of that you know with his
partnerships he's making affiliate
commissions selling the chair selling
headphones right so he's really making a
ridiculous amount of money every single
year just from YouTube alone but also
from partnership so what you'll notice
is for a lot of the big youtubers
sometimes they'll say well you know this
video is sponsored by
you're king right and they'll have like
a Burger King little ad inside of the
video so these big brands will pay
youtubers you know $50,000 $100,000 to
feature their actual brand inside of
their videos because these videos get so
many views and it's actually a cheaper
way for companies like Burger King to
put a hundred thousand dogs into a
YouTube campaign than actually spending
that on traditional advertisements like
newspapers and things like that
so if you followed my channel you know
that I've never had a sponsored video
but what I do do is something similar
which is called affiliate marketing
right and what affiliate marketing means
is for example I will actually promote
you know quality software that I use in
my own business to find products to sell
on Amazon or do any number of things
that I actually use in my own business
you know the top quality software I'll
promote that software on my channel you
know in my tutorials and things like
that and then I'll link in my
description of my youtube video my
affiliate link and so every time I refer
someone to those software companies that
software company gives me a referral
check they give me a cut of the amount
that they make right and that is the
essence of affiliate marketing and so
affiliate marketing is the second source
of income that we're gonna talk about
from my YouTube channel and we're
actually making you know a little bit
over six figures every single month just
from the affiliate marketing that we
actually do from my youtube channel and
you know if six figures a month sounds
like something that's impossible to you
remember I started my youtube channel
from scratch right zero followers zero
anything less than two years ago right I
had no followers I had no anything and I
built this in less than two years so if
I can do it right and I used to be a
boring accountant that I hate in my life
rotting in my cubicle if I can do it
then you can do it too right the key is
being consistent and making quality
content
you know consistently if you can do that
then you can build a following just like
anybody else so we talked about YouTube
ad revenue and we talked about affiliate
marketing as well but the number one way
that I actually make money from YouTube
is neither of those and we're gonna get
into that but really quickly I do want
