Aloha this is Bryan hildreth here in
Maui kaanapali maui I've been reading
multiple books trying to get some
knowledge and just information that can
really explode my business and make it
grow even more than it has and one of
the books that has definitely helped and
I'm going to be applying all of these
principles which most I mostly have it's
just this book really summarizes it into
actionable principles and I'm going to
go over some of those that I've applied
and some of those that I've learned and
I'm going to be applying so hopefully
this information these principles can
help you achieve explosive growth for
your business the book is called
contagious very self-explanatory by the
by the title of the book contagious why
things catch on it talks about virality
and really exploding your message
through word of mouth having people
share your message to other people in
achieving that all that explosive and
ultimate growth and the only way to do
that is by following these six
principles so the first principle bear
with me I'm going to be going through my
phone because I took some notes on some
of the most important things that I
learned from these principles so the six
principles are social currency trigger
emotion practical value public and story
okay and if you combine all these
principles when you're creating a
business pitch or you're creating
content or something that you want to
sell maybe a product or a service if you
implement all these six principles into
the product or service that you're
creating or your business pitch you will
achieve the explosive growth you will
see those sales come in so let's go over
the first one is social currency okay
what is social currency
social currency is well let's start off
by the the fundamental human motivation
is to be socially accepted right by
everyone else if I'm accepted by other
people it's just a human nature we feel
better when we're accepted by others so
if you can provide a product or service
that's going to make someone feel more
accepted whether it's you're bringing
them more money you're going to help
them save more time right or become
better in their life whether they're
happier they look better their fitness
is better their body looks awesome they
know more than others if you're helping
them achieve those things that's going
to be something of high social currency
so in my business right I help others
achieve the making money online right
and if you're able to make money online
through passive income or different ways
like affiliate marketing social media
marketing Amazon right I'm helping
people make money so that puts their
social currency higher right it gives
them a higher status and that's the
number one principle that I suggest when
you're creating a product or service you
implement okay make sure the social
currency is high what kind of value are
you bringing this person with your
product or service so that's the first
one how do we do that we leverage game
mechanic we make people feel like
insiders there was an example in the
book where this guy who created rule
Allah calm it was like a he also created
smart bargains which was the site where
you can get discounts off of
clothing and stuff like that for 75% off
well smart bargains ended up going under
and he created a website that was almost
identical called rural law but the only
difference was that rule Allah was a
invite-only website so the only way to
get these bargains were if you were
invited by another member and it made
that exclusivity so it made people
realize that you know this is a makes
them feel like an Insider okay so that's
kind of what you want to do with your
product or service you want to make
people feel like insiders like they're a
part of something that other people
can't attain so that's the number one
thing with social currency trigger a
quick example of what trigger is if you
know the company Mars bars right they
create like candy bars they solve their
their sales of their Mars bars
drastically increase without changing
the price without paying more for
advertising they saw this advert that
sales increase when NASA said that it
was going to send you know satellite or
whatever to Mars and because this other
big organization was you know referring
to a planet it was the same name as the
candy bar so they saw drastic sales
increased so that's one thing you can
utilize is trigger kind of make your
product or service
maybe relatable to something that you
use everyday or that you hear on the
news such as Rebecca Black's Friday the
song Friday had over 300 million views
and most of those views were actually
the highest on Friday I wonder why
another one is emotion we want to
stimulate people to share these ideas
our products or services we want to
stimulate people by arousing them
emotionally whether the getting them
angry or getting them feeling
excited and hopeful okay we don't want
to make them feel sad we want to make
them feel really extreme either super
happy or super angry it's good to mix
them both right have make them feel
angry at someone else or some you know
be on their team and then provide them
with the solution makes them feel
hopeful and happy public behavior is so
the quote that I wrote down is behaviors
public thoughts are private so social
proofing your product or service is
going to drastically help your business
explode and growth practical value which
is the fourth principle is I will use
the rule of 100 so what kind of value
are you bringing your audience are you
giving them a discount make sure you're
using the rule of 100 if you're giving
them a $5 off discount $5 off might
sound less valuable than 20% off right
even even if they are the same thing so
you know use either 20% off or $5 off
depending on what sounds more valuable
and the last one is stories we all know
the story of the Trojan horse right how
the Greeks built a horse and hid their
soldiers in it and gave it to the
Trojans and obviously the soldiers came
out and conquered the city kind of like
that create a story that triggers
emotion has high relative value and
overall gives a good story that people
will remember and share with others so
