what's up YouTube this is Ryan Hildreth
here with my buddy Tanner Fox we're at
here but we wanted to touch on a certain
topic that isn't really discussed I know
you've seen a lot of the glamorous side
of entrepreneurship and having that
freedom to you know go hang out on the
Skydeck and play some pool but really we
had to go through a lot of failures
before we got to this point in our life
right now so we want to discuss those
failures we'll start off with Tanner
let's maybe introduce a failure that
really affected you maybe even brought
you down and turned your outlook on some
things but but you were able to like
kind of bounce back from that what was
yeah I mean the first thing I ever
really tried was the Amazon thing okay
so that's the only real thing I have for
a reference my first product so my whole
goal was the same as my other ones now
$100 profit today started it didn't know
what I was doing was getting two or
three sales a day $12 profit so not bad
still making like a couple hundred bucks
a month but it wasn't what I want it to
be and I start to really slow down and
it took me like two or three months get
my money back I was like crap this thing
doesn't work then I was like you know
what I'll just try another one I tried
that one had a lot of issues so I went
from too competitive to no competition
no demand and took me another couple
months to run out of products so I
didn't read them just reinvest again I
was like dang none of these are working
why and then I started another one
ordered too much inventory and just ran
out of it a couple months ago so that
was almost six months because I ordered
a thousand units instead so I was gonna
be go I'm going all-in and so I had that
money tied up for a while but in that
meantime while that was there I was like
alright I gotta try one more when I get
one more and I tried that next one and
what do you know within a month eight
thousand profit ten thousand twelve
thousand I just started growing so I
mean I most people be like oh I try the
first one to try to say it doesn't work
I'm gonna be done I'm gonna go for
something else but I was like no there's
so many people doing this that are
making money I got to keep doing it cuz
I know what work
I did that and then learned what I was
doing wrong fixed it and now just rinse
and repeat for what works okay the same
thing another one that I consider
different kind of failure was Amazon
changed the regulation that was a big
change a lot of people stopped selling
because of it and I was like oh it's
game over it was giving away products in
exchange for review because that's how I
used to get ranked yes it's still
possible you don't have to do it but I
was like oh it's game changer I stopped
looking for props for five months that's
why I only have the low amount of props
I knew now that's why I only have four
so do you think you could have started
more product oh sorry two or three and
I'd probably have at least five thousand
more income right now come on Wow if I
didn't do it so I can say that failure
on okay thinking that was the end and
not taking action trying to innovate and
fix it which I eventually did tried
another one works try another one work
so two different kinds of failure yeah
monetary failure and then just in my own
head okay I didn't even know that but
would you say that that last
breakthrough that you had if you hadn't
have you know kind of waited and just
kind of kept pushing through until you
had that last breakthrough do you think
you would have like given up or like
what if that breakthrough didn't come
sooner as it did what if it took two
months or two years longer will you have
kept pushing through honestly at the
time probably not but now I would
especially with like affiliate marketing
because I know it works mm-hmm same with
that like I will make at least a hundred
thousand a year from that soon yeah I
know it works it's just bringing it out
so if it takes a year or two years I'm
gonna keep doing it yeah just figure it
out but probably then no cuz I'm still
looking for new sucks I didn't know what
worked but yeah I mean I'm glass stick
with it because otherwise I wouldn't
have all the opportunities I have now I
wouldn't be here I want to have the
things I have yeah it would be so
different if I didn't do that one last
product yeah I know it's crazy when you
know I feel like the world kind of works
out how it's supposed to work out you
know if you put in that hard work and
that effort it just seems to if it's
meant to happen it's meant to happen you
know what I mean I don't know do you
kind of have that philosophy sometimes
but I mean you can't use that as an
excuse for if you're starting a stupid
idea that'll work out or if you're just
making a blatant mistake yeah yeah I
mean
you have to put in the work and do the
research and whatnot in a lot of times
it will turn out like that definitely um
sometimes I might not be right away with
different things but sometimes I agree
yeah for sure okay cool well that's
awesome tanner you know I think the
biggest thing that I got out of that was
from your stories really pushing it
until you have that breakthrough because
you never know what could happen next
you know it's like whether it's that
next product or that next stock that you
trade you know you never know when that
breakthrough is gonna be so if you just
keep pushing until then
