video is gonna reveal the number one
best traffic source for your sales
letter and for the copy that you just
points from my websites and also from my
wife Melanie's websites to look at and
analyze how this traffic source really
does come in clearly beyond a shadow of
a doubt number one the best of the best
so when you're building out your content
and you're building out your sales page
and you're building out your offerings
one of the biggest and most important
questions to keep in mind is who's the
audience who is actually going to read
this letter because a letter needs to be
written differently if it's for cold
traffic if it's for people who already
know you and I've been running some
tests recently with all the last
promotions that I've done I've been
paying very very close attention to
where the sales actually come from at
this point in time I've got this YouTube
channel with about 73 or so thousand
subscribers I have my email list that's
of about 7,000 subscribers and obviously
there's the world of paid traffic and my
blog content etc etc but I'm gonna
narrow it down for you right now it's
between and I've known that it's between
the YouTube channel and the email list
even though the YouTube channel is ten
times bigger than the email list because
every time I run a direct promotion I'm
able to get the idea the kind of bit if
you will the hook the the kind of big
problem solution moment in front of the
eyes of a captive audience who already
know like and trust me and that's so
important for you to realize that if
you're trying to sell something you're
having troubles well are you selling
this item to people who already know
like and trust you if not you've got the
cart before the horse and you need to
spend some time building trust first
generally this is done through email and
lots of great content with that said for
me email marketing has by far been leaps
and bounds above anything that I've been
able to do with this YouTube channel
here and to test this I've run a few
different promotions for a service for
an information product and for a
membership product and we've done very
similar tests on my wife's platform as
well looking at okay I've got seventy
thousand subscribe
when I create a video about this launch
and about this offer what are the
results back for the offer itself then
when I send out an email to those 7,000
people it reaches literally it's at like
10% so it's 90 percent less people on
subscribers on my email list but the
results are generally 5 X - 6 X greater
so I'm getting 5 to 6 times the number
of sales from my email list than I am
from my youtube channel and what's
interesting is in our kind of current
world that's filled with vanity metrics
and follower numbers and subscriber
numbers a lot of people are chasing the
wrong metrics a lot of people think I
need the hundred thousand subscriber
brand or I need to have this many
followers on Instagram etc and I tell
you really I implore you to really
really look in at your email list as the
number one asset of your business and
not only work to grow the list and size
but really really focus your energy on
growing the actual relationship with you
have that you have with that list
because honestly it's the relationship
that you've developed with the list
it's the goodwill you've given to your
list that truly puts your users your
subscribers your readers in a position
to be ready to take action on your
recommendations and they're taking
action at five and six times the rate of
all other traffic sources that I've been
running to and it's literally a 90
percent smaller audience right it's only
7,000 people on my list
and it's literally giving me 5 X 6 X the
results that my youtube channel does so
let's jump into some more numbers I want
to show you a little bit data and I'm
gonna give you a process of how my wife
and I generally will do our launches
through our email list to maximize our
results and you're gonna get to see how
the sales often come in I don't have
exact specific data but I'm gonna give
you a close enough ballpark because
we've gone through this process well
over a hundred times of launching
products so I'm gonna jump over to the
scratchpad real pick or the sketchpad we
might call it so let me get into the
workplace here and I'm gonna pull this
out this was from our
video and ultimately sending out your
messages that are based on the framework
if you missed that that I just took away
I'll have a link pop-up at the top of
the screen so you can watch that video
that's the first suasion framework used
on the sales letter that ultimately
creates all of these results but let's
go in so Melanie and I both have email
lists in very very different niches so
I'm gonna put Melanie up here and I got
me down here so Melanie in the last 90
days has sent out 73 emails in the last
90 days I've sent out 90 emails okay now
Melanie's List is sitting at about a
hundred and fifty thousand my list is
sitting at about seven thousand and out
of this really what what I'm trying to
help you understand is the number of
opens and the number of connection
points with individuals that we've had
for each so out of Melanie's seventy
three emails she has had one point three
three million opens it's actually larger
than that but in the millions I've
rounded the number so it's 1 million
three hundred and thirty thousand plus
opens on her seventy three messages that
is an amazing amount of traffic that
doesn't always click through to a web
page they don't always register in the
YouTube analytics or the Google
Analytics or any analytics for that
matter but ultimately it's another touch
point and generally speaking we're
sending out four or five goodwill
messages for every offer that we send
out Melanie easily could have sent out
ten offers out of these seventy-three
emails and if you just do the ten
percent right we just knock off one of
these zeros to take ten percent that's
approximately a hundred and thirty three
thousand experiences with a user who
knows likes and trusts her who's looking
at an opportunity to buy something that
is an amazing amount of traffic
potential to a sales page with a captive
audience of people who know like and
trust her so me out of my 90 emails with
my list of seven thousand subscribers I
had one hundred and fifteen thousand
opens now I haven't promoted one
three four or one every five I've
probably done less than nine promotions
here but let's just say four rough
numbers ten offers as well in mine and
then we can kind of do the same thing
just take one zero off to cut it down by
ten and it looks like I've got about
11,500 individuals who know me like me
and trust me who all saw open and read
my email that was ultimately promoting
something whether it was the WP publish
Pro service that I'm working with
whether it was the copywriting course
that I've been using myself that I I
negotiated a special deal for my readers
on or whether it was my membership as on
the last launch of my membership that is
an amazingly large number of individuals
looking at my sales messaging if you
think about a real retail business that
has a storefront it has to pay rent and
tries to attract people to come in it
Melanie had approximately one hundred
and thirty three thousand foot traffic
right like one hundred thirty three
thousand individuals as foot traffic
through her little e-commerce it's not
ecommerce right through her web based
business if you will for a real local
business to have a hundred and thirty
three thousand people walking in and
looking at something to buy whether they
purchase or not right that comes down to
the conversion that's the next step it's
a different piece of the puzzle but that
is an amazing benefit for that business
and that business would have to pay a
lot of money in rent in a location that
gets that type of foot traffic really I
think the big and interesting part to
look at with mine here using my number
specifically is off of my list of only
seven thousand people I've had a hundred
and fifteen thousand connections touch
points they say it takes six touches to
make a sale and my ultimate goal here is
not to make sales I do want to connect
people who are ready for those next
products and services and memberships
that are gonna help them get to the next
level I do feel like I owe it to these
subscribers to offer them what they need
to get them to the next level but really
if you just think this small list what
what a lot of people will consider as
being a very small list has created a
massive amount of highly
targeted traffic of people who already
trust me and this is the ultimate power
of email marketing now I want to show
you that little methodology I was
telling you about so when we run
promotions we try to run promotions for
about seven days and what we always do
or generally do that was written pretty
poorly what we generally try to do is
have an opening day and then we really
focus our energy in on the clothes as
well because the number of sales that
come in over the course of a seven day
promotion are very very similar on a
percentage basis from my whites brand
from my brand from all kinds of
different clients I've worked with
throughout the years so seven days and
essentially I don't have a exact way to
do this right so you guys are gonna have
to bear with me I don't have a fancy bar
graph going here but I'm gonna give you
the gist of this here so we have day 1 2
3 4 5 6 & 7 & on the seventh day the
deal is over this is what I just did
recently with the copywriting course I
was able to get a discounted price for
subscribers over a seven day period so
day one I announced it hey I've got this
new thing for you it's out it's
available and negotiated a special deal
learn about it here and I made a really
good volume of sales on day one it was
around 30 to 35 percent of the sales
came on the very first day and when I
say 30 percent of the sales I mean
that's of the entire seven-day promotion
day - the number of sales dropped off
drastically it went down to about 10
percent now I did email it and I
mentioned it in day 2 but I mentioned it
in day 2 as a PS it wasn't a full-on
hook if you will day one was definitely
a hook I mentioned it I clearly stated
this was something I'm using that I've
got access when I got access it was full
price and this is how I'm building out
my next sales letter so day 1 was a hook
day 2 it was a soft mention in a PS and
then days 3 4 & 5 are always very very
very low points in our sales same thing
when my wife is running specials for her
brand whether it's a high ticket product
or a low ticket
and we run these seven-day specials
where the price goes up on day 8
ultimately we there's always this large
valley in the middle
usually on day 6 we will have an
announcement that the price is going up
tomorrow and then on day 7 we have the
last chance and what we've seen over and
over is this last chance email
oftentimes drives more sales than any
other individual days this most recent
time it was about 40% of sales came from
this last email it was closer down
around the like 6% down here and really
when you're down to here these 3
essentially shared about 4 percent of
the sales very very low sales volume in
the middle so I mentioned this and I
share this because really I think a lot
of people will will do a launch they'll
get going they'll have their their sales
copies all created they've got their
their time frame they've got their
specific timing for upping the price so
there's the reason why to act now
day one will go gangbusters there all
kinds of excited and happy so we'll put
a smiley face there like yeah this is
working wow this stuff works but boy you
get down to day 3 and it is frowny face
it is it's worry it's doubt its did I
break something is everything ok
even if you try to send out strong hooks
on these days you often will see very
low number of sales the most ambitious
people buy on day one and the other most
of humanity who are procrastinators like
you and me and everyone we all wait till
the last chance right that fear of
missing out is truly strong and then
when you get to that one we get back to
happy and all and all it is a really
good promotion and in that five-step
persuasion kind of framework I taught in
that sales copy course in the video that
was linked above there really was step
number five was all about a reason why
now and having a special price that ends
on day 7 is a very strong way to have
that why now and you just need to know
that your sales are probably gonna spike
up at the beginning they're gonna drop
off quickly they're gonna hover
almost to nothing when you mentioned
that it's about to close and then boom
on the clothes they're up and then day
eight just drops flat back down usually
I'm pretty sure I haven't made a single
sale on day eight after the promotion
was done because everybody who wanted it
got in on the promotion
they were either an early advantage
taker somebody who was ambitious or they
were one of the people who waited to the
last minute they're like you know what I
am just gonna save a couple hundred
bucks and get this now because I do need
this tool over time and almost all of
these sales came from the email list the
YouTube channel followed a similar
method one other thing to keep in mind
it's very difficult on a youtube channel
to do the same sort of hook here hook
here with a PS here I tried that in this
one and it just didn't generate that
volume that the emails did and the
reason and the theory that I think you
really need to keep in mind is that your
individuals your audience is always able
and a let me get myself on here your
audience is pretty much always able to
find how to get that inside access to
you through your opt in report right

is so strong that email outperforms my
YouTube channel email outperforms any
sort of notifications on my blog I
really don't drive many sales at all
from the organic traffic to my blog most
of the income I've earned on this
platform this brand of miles Beckler has
come from either the email series or the
YouTube videos and really when I do
these launches when I'm launching out a
piece of sales copy which is the goal
communicate through this video so when
you're launching something most those
sales are going to come from your email
list definitely do everything don't
don't not put out a video on it right
I'm never gonna not let you know as a
subscriber on YouTube but I just know
that most of the results are actually
gonna come from the email list which
means most of my day-to-day efforts are
focused on growing that email list and
growing the relationship with that email
