going to answer question but it's been
posed in the wealthy affiliate forum
about using patterns and images for your
background with WordPress now I'll
images and pattern us and link to some
resources and one of the questions that
I've asked is the images that get
downloaded are only 200 x 200 wide can
you still use them to color the whole
background and yes you can is the answer
and I'm going to show you how okay now
the question was asked by Walker and she
wanted to use an image or a pattern from
abyss websites here so we're going to go
ahead and get straight to it so I'm just
going to click into the website I'm
going to select a color I want to use
will say red because I like the red and
these are the images and patterns that
are available to me as you can see there
some very nice one there like the look
of that actually I long look at this way
so we'll have this one now what I do is
only 108 108 pixel so it's not very big
at all some of it right click that and
save it to my computer save huge as the
saviors wherever it's called I'm a
desktop now this is the website we're
going to change i'm just going to move
the screen a little bit so you can see
the background okay background is pure
gray this is for 2012 wordpress theme
this website here is day one cycle you
be calm and we're going to change it to
a nice background so i'll just go to my
dashboard
and I go to appearance pick background
and as you can see right now the
background is the plain gray so I'm
going to choose a file here and go sit
thumbnail view so what can see what I'm
looking at there is easy to find that
way then upload it and there you go it's
tiled all the way across note the use of
the word tiled there so I'm going to
save it just off screen here and then
I'm going to go and visit it in with new
site what's new tabs and I say there you
go lovely background age now as you can
see the blog is scrolling up and down
and image is Spain where it is i'll show
you how we achieve that with a tiny
small image and it's all down here okay
so you can either position the image
left central rights however we are
tylene that image if i was to position
it it would only fell be using like a
big photograph so if you had a lot of
scenery of the woods or something like
have that as a big image but i'm using
patterns and shapes or patterns and
colors so i can just tile the image if I
had no repeats it just be one little
image in the corner of the screen but
I've got it on your piece as a tile so
it goes across and down that's how it
works okay you choose top horizontal
hotel vertically but you know we want to
cover the whole page so the other thing
that's noticeable is scroll or fixed on
our one it's fixed nope yep it's fixed
as in
the background is fixed front Scrolls if
I change it to scroll and update with
changes again off-screen excuse me for
that and if i refresh miss here now when
I scroll you see the back plans moving
as well you see and that is how to add
background images or patterns to your
WordPress twenty twelve theme and almost
anything would work the same way sure
