that my memory on shame here and we
should be good I think we're good but

it's a little chilly in Bozeman today
it's like seventeen Fahrenheit or so
when I was walking out there had to
shovel a little snow so it's a little
chilly a little bit chilly
I'm jacket on and some chai tea all
right
we have Boyd on as well we have hot and
Steven sit is in northern Illinois near
Wisconsin nice alright excellent so like
I said today we're going over Amazon
reviews and I'm gonna share my template
that I use so this has been you know I
published this a little while back and
I'm gonna go over each of the sections
and I'll show an example we're actually
gonna go kind of click through that part
of the presentation there's a lot of
interior he'll there so I'm going to go
through quick and then additionally I'm
going to this is a new part that I
haven't like shared before specifically
I'm going to create a like job aid that
you could give to a writer and like I
guess have the word count the target
word count and then tell the writer like
how many words you want section and that
sort of thing so we'll kind of break it
down like that a lot of people like to
see that sort of stuff

all right so sometimes people tuned in
late here there's a little intro at the
beginning so we'll go ahead and get to
it I'll share my screen here
on review Amazon affiliate reviews that
converts you can use the ideas for other
product focused it doesn't have to be
Amazon affiliate specifically than any
sort of product review these ideas are
transfer over alright so let me know if
you've created a site before it looks
like we have a extremely light crowd
which seems slightly surprising to me
but maybe you know people are gonna
catch the replay but have you created a
site before so just let me know in the
chat and I'm Doug Pennington I'm not
sure if a lot of people have seen much
of my content before Brad bunch stuff
and I found a niche site project back in
2013 so I've been doing this for a few
years and it was one of those situations
where I just thought hey I want to start
a blog because the people that I follow
a started a blog which is kind of a
self-selecting across us I realized that
now and I was like hey I'm gonna start a
blog to document my process and blah
blah blah and yeah so I kept doing it
and slowly got better at it and started
doing a lot more YouTube stuff in the
last probably almost two years I guess
year and a half something like that
anyway I like border collies that's my
my old dog here Brody
my dad and I are old faithful we went
over there
Eric was close by to Yellowstone so we
were out there and then our new dog
Georgie that's from earlier this year
me next we got and this is kind of the
why should you listen to me portion of
the presentation so I have a past track
record I've created several amazon
affiliate sites we've created some other
sites didn't work out that well I've
coached a lot of other people done guest
posts and guest blogging on bigger blogs
that's like the only more about that in
a second and then I have a PMP which is
project management professional
certification have a
or Java it's a project manager for IT
companies and consulting companies for
10-12 here something like that that
nothing I'm thinking about that I guess
is about to want to be or something like
that so I have like a corporate
background and then sort of put the two
together it's rare to have a project
manager in the internet marketing field
usually cuz like project managers like
get paid pretty well and they're there
in demand so I happen to have been laid
off which will come to second theorem so
quick notes to Stephen says you have a
few sites you started like whose own
type sites like from Alex at WP Eagle
one of my friends are from YouTube so
now you're building at a typical
affiliate site using kgr best articles
great and then Boyd says you've created
sites for a living as a graphic designer
you're Bobby right the less experienced
on that part two you're building a niche
site very cool so let me know if you've
had a profitable one as well so it
sounds like you guys are maybe just in
the early stages getting started but
gets curious about profitability always
it helps me shape the presentation here
so here's some of the places on the
featured or mentions at some point and
even socialtriggers i derek halpern but
getting these are so large significant
blocks
okay so my timeline I always put this in
because on times you will only see the
highlight reel
I mean I'm guilty of it too right so you
only see the highlight reel you see the
sensational
you know attention-getting headlines and
then you think do you think you're
behind because it seems like it's so
easy and people just don't even try and
then they make a lot of money and all
the success well usually it's not like
that usually it's like a long process
with failure points along the way and I
diagram up here so you can see the
roller
I survived a dimension 2013 is when I
had learned about internet marketing
this when I started the check project
and I've had like some great success and
then like everything would like go like
I'll try out they call gravity go away
and a few failure points if it could see
the mote point I got laid off from their
full time job after diamond company that
was 2015 so a few years ago and the

over a year ago for two hundred fifty
five thousand would convince apartment
mine that was cool that was very
exciting

for you know someone trying to start
something with it on the side trying to
like make money online work from home I

start reasons for that one it's pretty
cheap that start you can buy a hosting
package actually you could probably buy
a hosting package set up a wordpress
site put a theme on there and have a
site before I finish talking in this
free weapon right like you can do all
that power
probably cost you like a hundred bucks
and the potential for it is huge
right then you could actually grow one
site or have a platform or whatever for
products that you want to sell the
future weapons info products physical
product
you oughta just be a personality or
influence or appointments you can start
it for a hundred bucks in like an hour
all right the cool part with affiliate
sites and we'll just some people call
niche sites authority signs to me it's
all the same it's just a big in
positioning mechanism my science
intersect project so kinda stick but
it's really an accredited set so with an
affiliate so you can learn the ropes in
a lot of different areas for example
bill where I've set up a side set
WordPress skills
let's go with punt and white hiring
freelancers teens all these I broke a
piece of the puzzle and you may not like
what you write may not like the niche
site they drove a box that's fun but
maybe actually my that's yeah starting
to yellow agency helps me write or
whatever thinking about really enjoyed
social media companies develop your
social something right or here's an idea
a couple days all that novel but you can
go up work and higher content side you
can figure out how high two or three
writers that one of light for 20 hours a
week or something like that
you could have a service where you
basically facilitate getting writers
together with people content if you
wouldn't have to do any of the writing
you just have to assign the work and
make sure that people get the content of
the deep so again new learn skills they
are transferable to many different areas
next
you can grow a fairly small side all
sites start small one piece of content
and grow from there they can grow huge I
mentioned at the site's I sold for those
six figures but people someone in my
mastermind group sold the site for over
a million right so you can grow the seed
into a huge asset really sad I would
keep it or whatever you wanted so tea
parties you have to have a plan a piece
of that plan is writing the content so
this is where the Amazon review format
comes into play all right so a couple
other mounts here so Boyd said you're
just starting the site Steven said one
of you was on a couple words on sites
from a couple years ago I've started
doing well but it's dropped and Steven
said Wow Billy yeah it was over for a
relatively straightforward site
generally outsource those actually down
sort the content I'll be SDIO some
communities now there
hence like I mentioned the plan you know
right order to do things and how much
time to spend on certain areas of what's
really important okay okay okay so
here's what we're gonna look at the
template we're gonna look at some
specific examples so again I'm gonna try
and kind of go fast through that part
and then I'm gonna create a job a my
live I just put in sort of stealth and
pieces and they just sort of pull that
together I haven't had a drink that will
actually keep this live and what I'll do
is attach the link to the email it'll
come out so you can get that to be sure
to take a look back for further so you
know with the link for the job
okay so first off we're gonna look this
high level so here is the whole form
this is available on each site project
which is going to start here page log
section it's in con I don't have
definitely came to the Pacific contact
section I'm just going to read out
sections of every bag of it yeah
small guy you hear that of course you
have to have the time
catchy title you some copywriting skills
to help you with that a lot of times it
is going to have wine pretty closely to
the keywords of your time you have an
intro paragraph and I like to have a
whole width or happy with image sort of
near the top
after that I'll have a comparison table
though it's not required I do like the
house compares the table since it's a
great way to present data especially
technical data when you have the specs
in sex or mat um after that do the
couple paragraphs on the features and if
you wanted to write I just know the to
Roger this whole thing that's fine so
you can talk about two features or you
can talk about 20 features
alright it's a complex product you have
a lot of room to reflect the next
section its features and specs for each
model so then this is module you can
choose this format if you're gonna one
product or if you're gonna go to you
twenty five months so in folded to talk
about that's the specific features and
specs for the Toronto just not one then
the one after that get the customer or
use your impression so for that section
back we ship the commutative products or
if it's just one product such module you
can move these around different for you
want in fact there are some of you that
I have or there are multiple tables with

qualify something right after that say

sometimes it's the first sentence just

afraid a bit of affiliate link you don't
want to put that five and getting just

is how many affiliate links can you put
into your article max Steven okay here's
the deal yeah you know what hopefully
everyone's alright with cussing I don't
know what the the problem is just

and I have no clue I never used that I
use this microphone it's a very nice one
here I even have like I got the mic
thing and the whatever like and
it's using this stupid laptop microphone
that's a piece of so okay we're
back Steven what you don't want to do is
put as many links as possible if you
have the right traffic you mentioned
you're using the keyword golden ratio so
that's great you're gonna have traffic
that's interested in purchasing
something if you have the right traffic
you don't have to use too many affiliate
links my recommendation I'll give you an
answer my recommendation is that you put
like one affiliate link per 100 to 250
words less is more one area that you can
get in trouble is if you use a table
alright so if you use a table I've seen
people have like three affiliate links
per product and they had ten products in
there so all of a sudden you end up with
like you know 50 affiliate links on your
page and most of them are in your table
so again less is more and my
recommendation is to just have you know
strong calls to action have a handful of
affiliate links I would say maybe like 3
or 4 per product
ok and Steven says ok thanks everyone
letting me know about the sound it's
funny this has
been like one time before like a year
ago and whenever it sounded like really
terrible that's when the laptop fan
turns on like the little cooling fan
internally and it just makes it sound
even worse so now now I got this baby I

picture affiliate links and regular
affiliate links so they count the same
and I would recommend not putting as
many like picture affiliate links that's
just my take all right yeah if you get
closer just it sounds like it's like the
NPR people whispering so the cool part

it's always good to practice all right

Boyd I see your question now about long
copy the wire cutter uses long sentences
and their copy isn't best practice to
use shorter so it depends on yeah
generally yes you're right
writing to a like an eighth grade level
it's usually like what you want to do so
I mean it depends on your audience and
generally we are going after a like
general audience so the the right answer
is yes shorter sentences are probably
fine if it's a more sophisticated
product for example maybe it's like like
a gaming laptop where you know it's um
it's an audience where maybe people have
they use bigger words and they have
longer sentences and all that stuff then
sure
you can you can do that but yeah in
general you want to write to you know
six to eighth-grade something like that
so it's really easy for people to
understand if you prefer you can write
some longer sentences I find that I mean
just for me
I've been studying like and trying to be
a better writer myself different cadence
is good so some short sentences some
longer sentences is that super awesome
to just have everything you know
everything is like seven teams and or
every sentence is 17 words long like you
don't want to do that all right so you
want to like change it up sometimes you
got some really short ones sometimes you
have longer ones so okay let me look in
the presentation and see if there is
anything else okay so I think I think we
covered everything again I'm probably
gonna do this whole presentation again
here maybe next week
maybe I'll maybe I'll change it up just
a little bit so yeah Boyd says it sounds

all right anything else folks before I

okay Boyd says what's the impact of
Google images on the traffic of a
website is it worth adding a nice
call-to-action a CTA to the images so
that is a great question I don't know
the answer to that at all I think here
is where can come into play so I mean
there's some there's some niches some
queries that are image-heavy people
really want to see the images and if you
if you're able to have like several of
your images show up in the like the SERP
the the results there you'll probably
get a little more traffic now a really
great spot is if you can get the
featured snippet if you can get the
featured snip it up at the top the image
is often different almost a hundred
percent of the time the image is
different than whatever the text whether
it's bullet points a table numbered list
often they don't match up so if you can
get the featured image snippet you
probably can get some good traffic I
have no data on that to answer your
question is it worth adding a CTA to
images I don't know
I would guess if you know that you're
ranking on the first page maybe it's a
pretty good idea for you to like add a
couple images with you know a
call-to-action in it but I'm not sure
I've never seen a study on it or any
sort of you know even a case study or
anyone who's tried it so good question
Islam says I'm translating content for
your blog from French to English can it
be considered a long-term content
strategy I guess so
sure you know what I've never I've heard
some people talk about that but I think
sure I don't see why not
I would I don't know
how Google
deals with that's sort of like duplicate
content if it's in a different language
I have a hunch that they're not checking
for that I haven't heard that that's an
issue but if you have the skills to do
that translation then I think you know
you'll figure it out pretty quick if
that's a problem or not but my hunch is
yeah it can be a long-term strategy
assuming you know it's there's enough
content out there to be translated as
far as the I don't know the word but as
far as like as far as that being like
not copying or the plagiarism aspect of
it I'm not sure I my guess is that's
probably not a great idea to do it but I
don't think there's an issue at this
time but I don't know I have no idea so
double-check and see what you could find
alright any other questions and I guess
this is a good reminder I need to check
the audio source even more closely than
I thought because I did the sound check
for webinarjam
and it you know it sounds fine like the
sound was coming through but I did not
know that I was using the wrong source
again I have this microphone why would
he use anything else it's not like I
switched it I didn't I didn't switch it
over
I haven't unplugged this baby in a long
time
