in this video I'm gonna be talking about
the recent changes that Amazon have made
to their Associates Program these
access to the product API before you're
fully approved and this can be a bit of
a problem especially if you're setting
up a Woo's own or W zone type site
probably because you watch one of my
other videos so let's talk about that
hello it's Alex here from WP eagle I
hope you're all well so I'm back from my
Easter break and you see I've turned a
slightly different color I've been down
in Spain in the Sun and the rain to be
fair it was good but while I was away I
was getting some messages from you guys
about the Amazon API or the Amazon
product API which is what we use when
setting up a wasone site to download all
our products basically what's happened
is a lot of you were getting this
message which basically says that you
don't get access to API
unless you're kind of fully signed up
and fully approved as an Amazon
affiliate now this is a bit of a problem
because in order to get approved you
need to show Amazon your site and if you
know what the API key then you can't
really build your site because you can't
add any products so it's a bit of a
catch-22 chicken-and-egg sort of
situation so how do we get around this
and get ourselves approved so that we
can access the API well my best device
would be to set up a more simplified
version of your site so set up your
hosting and everything as per my
tutorial install WordPress and then just
to add a simple theme probably a free
one I've got some videos on how to do
this on the channel by the way which
I'll again add links to in the
description so add a simple theme and
then add a few bits of content so I'm
talking about blog posts it could be a
product review could be a product
comparison could be a how-to guide or
just an article in general that may or
may not include a few products you can
then add links to those products using
your Amazon associate account you get
access to the links and the images
before you're fully approved
you can use the site stripe which you'll
see across the top of Amazon once you
have registered as an associate at the
images add the links but yeah be sure to
use that site stripe if you download
images and then upload them to your site
kind of in a manual way Amazon won't
like that so yeah you do need to use
that site stripe and just copy and paste
the code that it generates for you add
your five bits of content let's say five
at least and then you should be good to
go in terms of getting approval now I'm
just working on a new video which should
hopefully be up tomorrow which is all
about getting approved with the Amazon
Associates program I'm gonna go into
much more detail in terms of the sort of
stuff that you should add to your site
and you know the do's and don'ts when it
comes to getting approved so be sure to
subscribe to make sure that you don't

although it doesn't always work kind of
percent but yeah click the bell and you
should get a little ding or whatever on
your phone when I do upload so that's
basically it now I've been saying for a
while that content is important in fact
content is king when it comes to
creating an Amazon affiliate site so
this just kind of means that we have to
do things in a different order we have
to make sure we've got a content and
everything sorted before we add products
which you know is no big deal really it
just takes a bit of extra time but a bit
worth it and then I went to get some
good content on your site so that brings
