this is a 5-minute teardown of baby gear
lap it's a real Amazon affiliate site
my name is Doug Huntington I'm from
niche site project so let's get to it
okay we're looking at baby gear lab
we're going to look at a specific review
like a buyer's guide and then we're
going to look at a specific review for
product I'm going to point out a couple
cool things in each area and hopefully
you'll get something out of it now I've
never done an analysis on a backlink
profile in a video like this so if you
are interested please leave a comment if
I get 50 comments on this video I will
do a backlink analysis of one of the
pages that we're looking at today you'll
see the home page of baby gear lab and
you'll notice it looks like a regular
old website this is sort of one of the
websites that I point out as being
really solid as far as a home page there
are navigational points so you can go to
a review here at the very top big sort
of a hero image there are four areas to
look at specific guides usually these
are helpful informational topics they
have a bunch of different ways to show
reviews and they have updated this in
the last few months so they have a lot
of these reviews shown here and then a
little bit of a cleaner type of
navigation over here we are going to
look at the best car seats guide and
this is the best car seats of 2017
you'll notice they have a very good hook
here they are asking you if you are
interested in certain things which most
certainly if you clicked on this for
whatever reason you are and their
qualifying you early they have a quick
call to action and even before I scroll
down I can see there's an option here
the number one option overall is this
one and they give you a few reasons why
and they allow you to quickly click over
to Amazon right away so you can get the
Amazon right away and have this nice
button the editors choice and they give
you about a few sentences a paragraph or
so of information here one other cool
thing to note is they have a very
thorough very good table of contents not
all sites have this I don't personally
have a table of contents normally but
it's great because their reviews are so
long now one thing you'll notice is
they have sort of a summary this is like
a mini review of this particular product
but they have a full review here so we
can look at that and then we see
basically a specific review on this
specific item generally they follow a
format that is pretty concise in it it's
not necessarily a formula but it's a
template and it's pretty close to my
template which I call the perfect Amazon
affiliate review you can get that in
this type project comm as we scroll down
you'll see they have a lot of like
tables and graphs this is something that
baby gear lab and outdoor gear lab the
partner site excel ad they have these
excellent graphs and you know they're
pretty simple it's just a bar graph but
if you look at this you can get a pretty
good handle on what's going on so they
have an overall score and they have a
crash test score and they have will just
see more and more bar graphs as well as
a lot of images and the key things that
I want to point out are the graphs I
mean this is a big differentiator
between other sites I don't do these I
mean this is a little this is definitely
an advanced type of exercise to do if
you're going to put graphs and do this
across your site again this is Doug
