my goal here is to help answer any
questions that you have that you feel
like are keeping you from taking action
in your business right like sometimes we
get to these points where we feel like
we have roadblocks we feel like we have
these things they're impenetrable
barriers but that's a perception issue
that's not the actual reality and me
having grown many businesses online my
wife and I run three successful brands
online as of right now and having helped
dozens if not hundreds of clients I've
seen just about all these roadblocks and
there's usually a simple workaround a
lateral move there's some little
adaptation you can kind of implement to
get going again because honestly
momentum is everything you just got to
keep going forward keep taking action
it's not always gonna be the right
action but taking action will get you to
those things that work because you'll
find a lot of things that don't work
when you find the few things that work
just go do it over and over and over
again so real quick let me just I think
we're gonna jump in y'all this is gonna
be fun and exciting I've got the chat
there I learned how to pop out the chat
and YouTube
that's totally helpful I really like
having that and man South Korea
Macedonia Indonesia Buddha Vita Costa
Rica man I'm planning the trip I'm
missing the Costa Rica I missing the
puter Vita I'm missing the Lozano salsa
I'm missing like the Coco's I'm missing
everything man the guanabana is like ah
dude and Mexico in the house missing
Mexico too similar love love both and
Denmark in the house this is awesome -
we have so many global individuals here
we got 70 viewers it's absolutely time
to jump in so the first question I
received its about Facebook advertising
and they said I'm running Facebook Ads
for a very local business my main
struggle is looking for different market
segments using interest based targeting
because I'm scared of audience overlap
so I'm gonna go ahead and just help you
understand what audience overlap is the
way I teach Facebook advertising the
$5.00 a day I'm I'm helping you run lots
of little ad sets focus on different
segments to see which ones deliver
customers within your KPIs the what
happens is like a Venn diagram if you
just
listening on the podcast all I'm going
to do is draw a couple of overlapping
circles real quick so what happens is
audience a is gonna overlap a little bit
with audience B audience B is gonna
overlap a little bit with audience C and
this individual is worried about that
audience overlap so here's the kicker I
don't care about audience overlap at all
I'm currently running I believe 20 19 or
20 ad sets right now in this moment
we've got retargeting ad sets I've got
look-alike ad sets I've got interest
based ad sets
I've got ad sets focused on my email
list my customer lists and my fan page I
absolutely 100% guarantee that I have a
lot of overlap between some of these
audiences more overlap and some than
others but it's not stopping me so the
biggest thing I can say to you is just
go forward start taking action monitor
your KPIs and see which ones work in
which ones don't because if you have
audience overlap that's killing an ad
set and you're running a five-dollar Day
ad set you're gonna get that data really
quickly and you'll turn off the one
that's performing the lowest relatively
quickly and then the one that's
performing well will continue on and
you'll still be showing your
advertisements to that audience the
second piece of information to really
help solidify that audience overlap is
not that big of a deal
you're running $5 a day campaigns to
start right like so out of this audience
my $5 a day that slice of that pie is
that much I'm literally barely touching
0.1% of an audience and to think that
that point 1% in this audience is going
to be the same point 1% in that audience
and that audience and that that out of
that $5 it's magically gonna overlap you
got to remember that if you're running a
conversion based ad Facebook is going to
show your ad to lots of segments within
the audience so just trust that that's
actually not a problem and this is more
of a perceived barrier and I say just go
forth take action and if you can't find
lots of good local interests use broad
interests and use local identifiers use
the zip code use the local targeting the
statewide whatever your whatever makes
sense for your business
but just get taking action so that's
that's where I'm saying it
reinforces what I said this start is
sometimes we have these perceived
blockages that aren't actually blockages
I've never once looked into what my
overlap is I've never once cared what my
overlap is and I'm still generating
leads for under 80 cents per lead and
I'm generating customers well within my
kpi's all day long I even ran a second
ad because I'm selling a product on a
short little window and that sold like
ten products in the first day buying
customers for like $8 each definitely
overlap all over the place but my
numbers still work so I get to ignore
the overlap because my numbers work so
stay focused on the right KPIs
number two how would you use Pinterest
to sell a product to licensed
professionals specifically beauty
product to estheticians and salon owners
this is an absolutely great question and
I think that the world of Pinterest is
very aligned with salon owners with
aestheticians a skin care specialists I
believe that is so real quick I'm a
little out of my league with this right
I have not done due diligence there I
don't necessarily know that much about
this face but I know that a salon owner
is going to build boards and they're
going to use Pinterest in a way that's
gonna help them number one collect new
ideas because as a salon owner you need
to be on that cutting edge you need to
be the one who knows what's hip what's
not what's in style what's not so
they're probably collecting boards and
they're collecting the newest style
content so if you can be the one who
creates all the newest style content if
the hair salon obviously you're doing
little tidbits and reviews of different
hairstyles that are new and eventually
those will get collected by those
estheticians the other side is like a
nail salon right there's all kinds of
fancy stuff ladies do with their nails
and it gets fancier and fancier and
fancier I've only had a manicure
pedicure once that was in Chiang Mai
Thailand it was so cheap wife wanted one
I was like all right let's do this
so I'm also not really down that rabbit
hole personally but the same thing
applies they're going to be pulling new
designs and they might even be showing
their clients or having their clients
pick out the pin that shows the design
that they want or replies like me I
don't know I got almost something fancy
I was thinking this that the
that aesthetician or that that salon
might have a tablet nearby that's going
to allow them to do this now that's the
entrance point that's the free level
awareness content that you're going to
connect with your target market with
then in theory they're going to be
liking and following your pins they're
gonna be looking back into more of your
pins so what you'll have mixed in there
are content pieces that go back to
actual pieces of content on your blog
that's gonna help that salon person help
that individual do more these individual
pins could or they're all doorways back
to a piece of content somewhere on your
website so use the Pinterest in a way
that the salon owner is gonna use the
Pinterest make sure you're using rich
pins that each one of those linked back
to the how to article the list of that
then you have the content upgrade which
is the opt-in then you lead them down
the path of purchasing the certification
or whatever course it is that you want
so kind of keeping in mind that that the
Pinterest pin is the top of level
awareness the first action the call to
action and a Pinterest pin should be go
to consume a piece of content then in
your sidebar in text and a pop up on
your WordPress site should have some
sort of a content upgrade that gives
that salon owner more of what they want
and then from there it's just in your
funnel and your funnel should be doing
the heavy lifting at that point finally
I would find group boards and I would
get involved in very active group boards
that definitely have salon owners in
them you'll find them we talked a lot
about that in the Pinterest how-to video
so that was it there man the questions
are still coming in I thank you so much
for being here
I'm gonna go I'm really gonna step up
rapid-fire let me grab a swig of coffee
and get the caffeine kicking in here so
I got seven questions we've already
started and I'm noticing that the chat
is just like full-on rolling with
questions and I thank you and we're
gonna get through as many as we possibly
can
it's nine fourteen in the morning here
in Arizona beautiful blue sky day it'll
be warming up to mid 60's
today so we're gonna get up to about I
mean eighteen degrees if you're in a
Celsius based location alright so this
next question comes from a new friend we
recorded a podcast together and he says
what equipment do you use camera editing
software website tools this
start with website tools i'm wordpress
all the way open source all the way i'm
kind of old-school i remember when i was
a kid we had computers at home because
my dad needed him for work I don't ever
remember a time in my house without a
computer we couldn't afford games real
games but I learned about shareware
games and shareware games were games you
were free to share and that's what I
played as a kid all growing up using
ms-dos to get into it so that's about
where my computer history started so I
mentioned that because I still have a
propensity to look for open source
solutions and low-cost solutions because
software a lot of people charge a lot of
money for software where there's not
necessarily a delivering of value in
there they get some brand value and also
they're like I could charge $300 a month
because we're us and you can always
pretty much find an open source or
another solution for a lot less
expensive so WordPress and thrive themes
is my my basic kind of web stack if you
get into shopping carts and this that
the other go search my website for a
it's a post I called tools of my trade
it shows the all of the exact software
that I'm using for my cartoon my
membership areas for my three different
web sites but the gist is WordPress
which is open source which means you own
it you can export your site you can move
it to a new house you're in full control
which is vitally important for the
long-term health of your business thrive
themes is the theme that I choose
because it allows me to build funnels on
top of it which work really easily and
they got that new split testing module
that came in that I'm gonna do a video
on um so that's kind of the website
tools that I use editing software so I
use a tool when I'm recording my screen
and you see me do screen shares and you
see my head in the corner and I can move
it around that's with a software called
screencast-o-matic it's $15 it's got a
totally 1980s goofy name it was an
alternative to Camtasia Camtasia is like
150 or 200 $300 it's ridiculously priced
and it's clunky screencast-o-matic is
fifteen dollars per year and it works
like an absolute champion so what I do
is I record my screen and myself at the
same time I can do a little bit of
switching in video but you can do a lot
of post-production I can blur out areas
I can add text I can move the webcam
around in post-production
I can change the size of the webcam etc
etc so screen
automatic 15 bucks a year great software
tool camera maje cell phone honestly
which is not on airplane mode so I'm
gonna do that now but I have a nexus 6p
camera which is probably um or cell
phone which is probably a three or a
four year old phone at this point in
time that is what did the bulk of my
talking head videos for the first year
and I literally just use the webcam on
my Lenovo laptop I'm using an older
Lenovo windows-based machine had this
thing for a couple of years it's still a
trooper I recently upgraded your now I'm
on a Logitech it's an HD if I was to
read the numbers on that lens I would
have to get really close to the lens and
that would be super awkward it is it's
one of their high def 1080p it's not the
top top top of the line it was one step
down I think it was thirty bucks for
that so that's my setup um when you get
into the mic there's there's a number of
pieces to go from this broadcast
microphone which is a shure broadcast
microphone into my laptop for this i'm
gonna do a separate video on that and
i'm also gonna do a video that i'm gonna
include the acoustics that i've done in
here
was hoping to get that out this week i
got family coming all kinds of stuff
going on a business tax time and that so
i'm hoping to get that one done next
week and all outline what I'm doing for
my audio because I think audio is
important my lighting I got three lights
going on right now all LED different
types softbox and straight LEDs so I'm
gonna outline that more in future videos
because it's it's a little bit I need to
go a little more in-depth but the very
basics and what I want to really say is
WordPress is open source you gotta get
hosting five seven bucks a month miles
Becker calm slash hosting I used the
laptop that I already had I use the
phone I already had I didn't go buy a
new phone I don't run a DSLR if I do any
separate video editing I use Sony movie
13 Platinum which is like a again it's
one of the really really cheap video
editing software solutions I'm frugal
like for sure I'm very frugal it's easy
for a business owner to sign up for all
these things that cost so much money oh
I need this system and a funnel system
in that system and all the sudden you're
bleeding out to three grand a month
because you're on all these systems that
you could probably find a standalone
solution that would cost you there'll be
a one-time fee and would really redo
your costs I don't focus on reducing
costs too much once I'm going on
something because it's easier to
increase your income than it is to cut
expenses and you can only cut expenses
by a hundred percent you can increase
your income infinitely but when I'm
making a decision on what to rely on I
take a fair a little bit of time to
research the the playing field and I
don't just jump in on what all my
friends are saying is what you have to
use zoom is an example for recording it
works great one on one but if you're
doing large like we're gonna be start
doing webinars with 100 to 300 people
and it would cost like 400 bucks a month
on zoom and we found this other solution
that's like 20 bucks a month for up to
500 people so don't always trust what's
got the buzz word in the world because
that usually means mm-hmm
affiliates are tied in margins are all
messed up and you're going to be paying
a premium for something that someone
else's maybe even creating a better
version up for cheaper kind of a little
rant there so this one comes from Shana
Shana and I recorded a podcast she runs
the entrepreneurs in motion podcast I
believe it is I hope I got that right so
go check it out it's a really good
podcast short episodes 30 minutes in and
out very clean recording she is about to
become a mother so congratulations Shana
and the episode we just recorded won't
be out for a few months I'll email you
when that comes out anyways really good
we had a great talk and we went into
sales pages and she is curious what are
the elements that make for a good
one-time offer page any thoughts on the
format short and sweet or long sales
letter so tons of thoughts here and I'm
gonna try to keep it concise so you can
take a few tidbits I started with a
written sales letter it was a relatively
long sales letter I would assume it was
1,500 to 2,000 pages because we need to
do certain things that we're gonna talk
about in that copy now I'm running a
video sales letter and that video sales
letter I believe is like 25 minutes for
my one time offer which is a long video
sales letter a lot of people who
encounter that one time offer in that
video sales letter they flat-out don't
have time there they're in the grocery
store in line they opted in right the
kid comes running in they fell off their
bike scraped their elbows whatever it is
they just don't have time for that and
that's okay
because
the video sales letter is designed to
give a lot of value it's actually a
training that simply offers more at the
end so people who do consume it they get
a lot of value whether they buy the item
or not and that's the key so I tested
those over time for me it was easier to
start with a written sales letter so
that's where I started start with what I
could get out and I just I got version
one out and I tweaked that for a while
once that was converting in a kind of a
break even on my cold traffic ad spend
that's when we went in and we're like
alright let's let's go up with something
totally new that we're gonna present in
a video format and we kind of went back
in the lab and it took a few more months
to write that VSL for that so that was
our approach phases to get to a rat and
I tested it against each other this one
clearly pulled better did iing so now
we're working on here and not testing
the headline above so the components in
a video sales letter you need to be sure
that the very tip-top acknowledges what
they just did and reinforces and when I
said acknowledges the action that they
just took which is opting in and
reinforces that that free thing that
they opted in for will be delivered to
their inbox in the next five minutes
because they just went for something
free user behaviors like oh I'm
expecting something free sales pitch
what's going on here so the very like
the pre head I usually have like
requests received you're gonna receive
access to the free blah blah blah and
your email in about five minutes right
now take a look at this video below and
then the headline the headline is
probably the absolute most important
thing and the headline ties into the
idea of the hook you need to hook this
individual they just went from an idea
they're like I want this thing they went
from wanting your free thing they took
an action on that and now you've got a
video or a long letter that you want
them to read you need to acknowledge
what they this step they just took and
reassure them that they're gonna get
what they asked for and then you need to
hook them into the next idea that's the
next most logical idea that builds off
of that free thing they opted in for the
best book I've ever found to help really
dial this in is called great leads by
Michael Masterson the six ways to start
any sales message it's a relatively
short book I got it on Kindle I think
it's five six bucks again Michael
Masterson on Kindle great leads is the
name of the book and it's the six ways
to start any salesman
and he goes into the hook idea there so
great headline and great hook that's
what I'm testing when I'm split testing
below that it's about what is it going
to do for them so they know the benefits
that they're gonna receive in their
lives then you get specific on what they
get and then you make the offer so below
the fold if you will right like the
subhead or the pre head the head the sub
head the hook that part is the absolute
that's eighty ninety percent if they
don't read that if they don't get hooked
in by that they're never gonna read
below
they're never gonna ever see that button
on that page they read that they're
gonna start scrolling and they're gonna
get down into your copy if you want to
know how far they're getting in your
copy you can run a heat map on the page
and you can look at the scroll map to
see how far down and if you're not
seeing anybody scrolling down your hook
is absolutely missing they're where
they're at in their mindset they they
want this and you're talking about that
or something and it takes a lot of
testing as with all sales copy it needs
to be as long as it needs to be so
trying to make it short for the sake of
making it short will not increase your
conversions you need to tick all of
those kind of main copywriting things
that we all have to do
there's tons of copy on there's tons of
like copywriting books I think Dan
Kennedy's um the ultimate sales letter
is probably the best book for how to
write a sales letter and I think a sales
letter is an absolutely fantastic option
in that place but then again within that
whole document of a sales letter the
very tip-top right those first few
things that lead that hook what gets
them engaged because they don't get
engaged they don't get interested enough
to read that next line and interested
enough to read that next line they're
gone forever
so that's what I got for that next one
I'm curious to know why you don't talk
much about dynamic email sequences using
tags for example if the user didn't
click on this offer send them a
different email sequence etc do I
believe linear sequences are more than
enough do I feel like I might lose
potential clients that are not ready to
buy but just needing additional
clarifications so the answer here is I
like those ideas I think that there's
obviously a lot of marketers saying that
you have to do this or else you're gonna
fail which is false because I'm not
doing that and I'm incredibly successful
with what I'm doing it's not required I
think it's the biggest part right like
there's so many things in
internet business that it's like I need
to do this and I need to do that I need
to do this I mean like really do you
really need all to do all that cuz like
my wife and I have a core of what we're
doing and we are absolutely excellent at
this core and we just keep doing this
pore over and over and we are crushing
it we are ignoring most of all the fancy
things that everyone says you need the
fancy Facebook guys who say you need
chat bot so but habla chat BOTS now I'm
not doing chat pause I'm doing ABS the
same exact way I've always been doing
them and they're still working I'm still
cashflow positive I just set up a new
campaign a couple of weeks ago we can
have to go it's crushing it then there's
this dynamic behavioral response
marketing which is Frank Kern's idea and
just just so people know and I'll get to
I am interested in this stuff and it is
something I'm kind of moving towards but
really just so people know the
difference between a linear follow-up
sequence and a dynamic follow-up
sequence is this so linear is straight
down and all I'm doing if you're on the
podcast I just drew envelopes vertically
one straight down one line one row of
envelopes and the idea is day one they
get this email day two they get this
email day three they get this email see
where it's going day four it's in a line
it just happens everyone goes through
the same sequence what I do is at the
end here I move them onto what's called
a broadcast list and the broadcast list
is my wife's daily emails or my daily
emails so if you opt into my list you'll
get actually one follow-up it depends on
which one you go through I've got one
that has literally one follow-up another
one has up to 10 what says done you go
on my daily list and then I'm emailing
you all these kind of more value ads
that I do on the daily I think those
daily emails are more valuable to you
and to your audience than creating some
fancy-schmancy dynamic blah blah blah
but here is what the dynamic does so
let's say an email - we talked about I
talked about Facebook as I'm like oh
yeah by the way you're doing any
Facebook ads it's pretty cool check out
this case study and they click if they
click on the link for the Facebook ads
that proves that they're interested in
Facebook ads so my follow-up sequence
can dynamically move them to a sub list
to a segment that gets more content on
Facebook ads so it would look a little
bit like this
so if you're listening what I did is I
drew another series of envelopes to the
right to show that you move from list 1
or from follow-up sequence 1 and you
move over to the second follow-up
sequence that's more focused with more
content on the idea that they clicked on
the fact that they clicked in email 2 on
my Facebook thing means they want more
information on Facebook so I follow up
them with more information on Facebook
probably going to the point where I
offer them a product to purchase and
then depending on what they do here if
they buy they might go to a different
list if they don't buy they go right
back into that original follow-up
sequence and then they follow up here
and what you can do is you can build
these out to where there's several
dynamic responses so I could have
Facebook ads and then this one could be
about funnels and if they click on that
they go through a totally separate
follow up sequence here right and then
it will take them right back to the next
spot if they click on this one they go
to the next and the theory behind that
is most people won't take action on
every single email you might get 30 50 %
open rates you might get 10 percent 5
percent 12 percent click-through rates
so that means you know somewhere between
you know 90 90 percent of people aren't
taking action so when you find a topic
that someone takes action on follow up
with more content I'm building something
like this right now with my I've got a
guy who Dave with integrate Pro he helps
me with all my active campaign stuff and
the automations and the tagging and I
just don't like that text stuff it kind
of annoys me I'm at best but I want the
result of it so eventually we're gonna
be building this out but I think it's
really really really really really
really really important for me to
reinforce all the marketers say you have
to do this I have not been doing this
I've been online full-time since 2010
and I'm making a damn good living and
I'm very very comfortable so this is
optional right and I'm gonna erase all
the dynamic stuff if you're just
listening this is not optional and I'm
saying you have to have a follow-up
sequence period you have to be growing a
list how fancy you get is optional
this is not optional so what you need to
be doing is growing a list and then
following up with people every day every
day five times a week and EVs any emails
you need to do more email marketing
that's more important than this stuff
which is why this has been a very low
priority for me in my business up until
this point cool
all right that's that's done let's jump
to the next I'm having fun I hope you
guys are enjoying this man I got all
kinds of questions I'm so excited to be
here Oh hold on got a band somebody we
got people talking crazy stuff in here
one second here hide you on the channel
you're done if you guys see anybody in
the comments spamming saying
inappropriate things like you could
report them you can moderate them you
can get them out so be sure you you boot
people who are trying to take advantage
of the attention that we've got coming
here together number six how did you
approach SEO when selling to clients
they want results fast so pure content
strategy might not be a fit um i
educated them on the fact that nothing
good on google happens quickly I mean
the only fast things I've ever seen
happen on Google is people getting
banned from the first page for using
blackhat linking techniques and if
you're building backlinks in any way
shape or form that's blackhat I don't
care if you're doing it the white hat
not a nice black hat in the eyes of
Google any backlink building is a black
hat tactic so this is education I would
tell my clients that this is a three to
six month path and you need to be
willing to delay gratification but what
happens is once we secure ourselves in
the number one spot on that first page
of Google for our most valuable keyword
phrases it will be extremely difficult
for someone to knock us off is it worth
it to that business owner for six months
to work towards that goal and to know
that by month three they should see
measurable results in the direction of
that goal if they said no I knew I did
not have somebody who had the right
mindset to pay me for six months or more
and I walked out I said thank you very
much for your time I'm out of here right
would I potentially sell them paid
traffic maybe but odds are they didn't
have a funnel that was converting and
odds are the money they spent in paid
traffic would go into Zuckerberg pocket
and would not return customers so as
their core as as my client as their
trusted advisor I would tell them you
don't want to waste your money on that
you need to build this out and if they
didn't get it that's fine it's generally
my fault for not communicating it
effectively I would go to the next
business owner and I would start to
teach it over again to help educate them
on the value of content marketing so I
would make sure they know that it's not
optional that it is a long process and
if they want the results of SEO they
have to put in the work over the long
periods of time because that's how the
game works
you can't cheat that game without
risking your clients website getting
banned from Google forever if you do
that to your client oh man come on
like seriously think about it so that's
your job right your job is to educate
them and if they don't get it if they're
not the right client perfect move on to
the next and go on to the next last one
from the pre questions and then we're
gonna get going over to the comments
which man there's flowing in thank you
so much for being here I do appreciate
it miles what of this one okay
bear with me here so miles what is a
sure deal when it comes to making a
hundred bucks a day online I have a
Shopify store but not enough profit I
now drive uber and that's realistic
getting the hundred bucks this is a very
short-sighted and nearsighted question
the hundred bucks a day means like I'm
urgently needing to make money and my
answer to that is to go get a job get a
real job in a cubicle do customer
support that's what I did I do customer
support call center work because it was
very abundant and available and it was
really easy for me to do I'd show up I
plug in I put in the headsets yes how
can I help how can I help and I just
kind of did it and then when I left I
was able to leave it and I cut the cord
if you can get a real job in a marketing
department that has content marketing
that has some overlap with what you
could learn and apply to help you grow
your business online that's fantastic
right if you could start as a content
marketer for a local digital marketing
agency for 15 bucks an hour to get going
you can make 15 bucks an hour times
eight hours a day that's that's over a
hundred dollars a day right I'm grab my
calculator eight times 15 yeah 120 bucks
a day take out taxes you're right around
there so 15 bucks a day 8 hours a day
now would that be annoying oh are you
worth more than 15 probably I don't know
like seriously like when I got to the
point when I had no choice I went all-in
on my business it failed I sold my car
to get cash to pay for life because I
was all-in
business and failed had to move back in
my parents house I went got a call
center job
I was literally applying for jobs for 15
bucks an hour to get going so I needed
something to pay the bills right I had
to pay rent I had a wife I had to get us
out of the parents house I moved back it
was terrible
so like that's my mindset is get the
pressure off and then the better
question because I do want to give you
some value towards your question right
like like what is the business model you
would love to do every single day for
the rest of the next three to five years
you would love what's that niche what's
that thing that you would love to talk
about all day every day like there's
something in you I don't care if it's
like drone racing like first person view
drones I don't care if it's um gaming if
it's like if you're just like a
Minecraft badass and you're like dude I
love Minecraft like everything I do is
minecraft or like crypto current like if
you're like oh mining and you're like
all about like how to set up mining rigs
or something like whatever that is that
you love that you would love to share I
think it would be more valuable for you
to get a real job right now to take that
pressure off and then start building
something on the side mornings weekends
nights you're working a lot in this
scenario that's exactly what my wife and
I did but when you get that side hustle
going that you love and you you love it
like the topic you love it like I love
this stuff my wife and I we love the
meditation niche we love what we do I've
meditate everyday still like we love
this stuff
for realz it ain't like we could make
money in that niche not at all it's like
we love this and we could share this
thing we love with the world when you
get there like 100 bucks a day is a joke
like we're talking thousands of dollars
a day is potential when you do this long
enough because your passion flows
through it that you're fired up you'll
put in the work on the weekends on the
Saturdays on the Sunday is late at night
you'll do what it takes to become
successful when it's something you love
it's just to try to hustle up some cash
it's gonna eventually fall and you'll be
right back to square one at some point
so that's my that's my kind of diatribe
on that but like ultimately I think
getting a real job plugging into
somewhere something that's gonna get you
skills that might look good on a read
that's gonna help you kind of in that
that normal latter corporate ladder type
world but also then you just gotta
hustle hard I was waking up I was about
five o'clock and Melanie worked we were
in the Bay Area San Francisco Bay Area
she worked at like 5:00 a.m. so she
would have like 4:15 4:30 to get ready
to go to
so I would just wake up and she would go
to work I didn't start work till 9:00 or
10:00 and I'd like an hour commute so I
would she would get ready I just go sit
and start working on the laptop right so
it's 4:00 or 5:00 6:00 in the morning
I'm having coffee having breakfast but
I'm I left for work right for my job to
commute in which I would listen to audio
books on like by the time I went to do
that I'd already put in 3 hours then I
put in another 3 or 4 hours when I got
home I worked on my lunch break on my
side business I even worked kind of like
alt-tab while I was in the office right
and obviously only do that if you
couldn't super eat like it fit in with
that business I was in
like if you're in a situation where that
would jeopardize your employment don't
do that right be smart but but that's
what I did in that situation hustling
like that then I got enough skills
here's one other thing I will give you I
got enough skills with WordPress working
on our stuff learning how to install
WordPress install theme content
marketing we started driving traffic
we're getting 20 30 thousand visits a
month I started posting on social media
like wow our website's taking off and
our fanpage was taking off if you were
like yo can you help me with that and I
was like yep I sure can that's when I
started selling services so selling
services like is probably the fastest
way in the internet marketing world to
make a hundred dollars a day is through
selling like content marketing SEO
Facebook social media marketing but you
have to have skills right like you've
got to be really really good at it you
can't just go sell services when you
don't know a damn thing about it
even though I recommend we outsource
most of those services you still have to
be able to fulfill on your own because
sometimes those contractors are gonna
disappear on you it alls on your
shoulders and you're gonna have to know
what to do to be able to figure that out
if it comes down to that so it's it's
all about hustling up something if
you're working on side project that you
love and you figure out how to get you
start getting things going here you can
probably start doing WordPress services
in your local market if I start doing
marketing services in your local market
that would eliminate the day job that
brings back some more free time and
that's kind of that ladder towards a
true lifestyle business maybe not the
answer you were hoping for but like I
can't be that guy there's too many of
them who are like oh I'll just do this
and you make 500 learn how to make a
hundred dollars a day on shop but like I
just don't believe it's that easy like I
really don't I think it's something that
it's gonna take a year to three years to
five years you know like if you're slow
it's a five year process if your average
is a three year process if you're like
if you're better than average and you
really hustle and you're real
hungry and you've really found that
thing that you love you might be able to
figure it out in a year to get the point
we're making three grand five grand a
month every month eight months to a year
totally doable I've seen people go up to
like eight nine thousand dollars per
month revenue in like eight nine ten
months but man they worked seventeen
hours a day they were all in on
something they loved right like it's and
they they had a skill set that they
brought to the table because they had
been in the design world so they had
like Photoshop they had design skills
that they brought to the table right so
you don't have all that going where can
you get those skills a job that can help
you kind of put your finger in the toe
of marketing and then also building
something on the side that you love
that'll give you skills at some point
you become invaluable enough to apply
that to other local businesses while you
keep working on your thing because
having a business like an information
business or an affiliate business the
lifestyle value is much higher in my
personal opinion than a service based
business like three grand a month from a
service based business or three grand a
month from like an affiliate marketing
business it runs off the email lists oh
all day long I'll take that email list
I'll take that affiliate marketing thing
because I could work that business two
hours three hours a day client services
you're always on it's it's a tough it's
a tough tough world but but it's worth
it in the long run um cool so that is
everything out of my Evernote suite so
now I'm gonna rearrange things how are
you feeling at this point you good we're
forty minutes in I got more time here
we'll jump into some questions what time
do I wake up now just put things in
perspective I wake up when I wake up
it's usually right at sunrise so this
morning I think I was up at 6:00 6:30 so
about three hours ago yeah I've been up
for about three hours got up mailed made
some coffee I really try to follow the
cycles of the seasons and so yeah I wake
up around sunrise every day and sunrise
is getting earlier earlier and I think
right now it's maybe like 6:30 or so and
some days I sleep into like eight or
nine in other days you know like it I
just I really try to not limit myself
I'm trying to let myself have my body
knows when when it's time to wake up and
that's something that I've created that
freedom in my life so but when I was
when I was on it like I was up and I
didn't even usually have said alarm I
was up because my passion woke me up
every single day cuz I was like fired up
to get this going because I was one step
closer to breaking free from that job
one step closer to making free from that
job
you step another hour and skip TV skip
movies skip this get that like skip
barbecues I didn't do happy all my
homies we want the happy hour all
barbecue Saturday come over some of
those how barbecue was crackin last with
whatever dude I got I got I'm building
something sorry y'all and I don't really
talk to many of those people anymore
that wasn't necessarily conscious it was
kind of more of a byproduct
but now I've made new networks of people
who are more in alignment with this kind
of mindset and it's really kind of cool
seeing some of the stuff some people are
creating in the world man I'm scrolling
back up we got a lot of questions here
this is exciting so I'm just gonna jump
in like I don't know exactly how much
time I have maximum another hour twenty
we got eighty viewers on if you're on 81
hello thank you again for coming in here
and I'm gonna start at the top and just
start jumping in here so how to price
digital marketing services when you live
in a country like Mexico not sure what
would be a fair price point yeah so your
prices for marketing services should
always be based on how much they're
gonna make per lead so excuse me on how
much a lead is worth for them how much
they potentially will make per customer
so for example if you're helping a yoga
studio get new yoga students that might
be a thirty to fifty dollar per month
value to them so we bring in ten new
customers that's bringing in three
hundred to five hundred value dollars in
value and I'll use dollars instead of
pesos so just kind of adapt accordingly
right that would be potentially three
hundred to five hundred dollars in value
per month you could bring to them how
much could you charge them for that much
value not much right let's look at a
lawyer right let's say an immigration
lawyer or something like the average
gringo who wants to get residency in
Mexico let's say they pay five to seven
thousand dollars to a lawyer that
