Fueled by Caffeine. [poor audio] Driving to Boulder, CO from Bozeman, MT #VLOG

a few hours into the drive here five
hours at least one of these one energy
drink and I was getting a little tired
at lunchtime I love this drive I've done
it a lot of times a stretch here
focus men and
it's absolutely
100% one of the clearest days and my
memory speed limit is 80 and may I keep
it around
five days something like that it's about
a 10 hour drive to where I'm going
I don't have you know Georgie my dog
with me today sort of have to stop it's
often or
you know it actually nuts I was driving
I was thinking back
there's a little sad leaving
great house and a nice neighborhood and
like that area we were you know
for years or you know making friends it
was really weird stayed at the house the
last couple days I would
virtually empty except for a bunch of
beer that I'm bringing back
Boulder as a good tale and I actually
remember when I first maybe the first
week or two
we were at those and we were we were
just vacationing at that time by the way
we had not decided there when we were
I was like walking around parking lot I
was walking around a parking lot I went
to a coffee shop and I went to the REI
and I was you know checking out the
shopping center and retail area very
close to where when we're saying close
to where we live actually and I remember
looking up at the bridge surveillance
and actually to the picture this is on
Instagram if you check out at done
cutting tag on Instagram June 2015 I
took the picture of the bridge
surveillance from the parking lot and it
said this place
and it really does not similar but it's
just mountains in the distance which is
cool you know I let love down another
thing I was thinking about
where I started but I got another six
hours of the road here so we got time
when I was thinking about driving
driving away from us but I was actually
thinking about driving into Bozeman and
there are two like occasions where I
noted it because it was like something
interesting milestone transitioning you
know probably remember don't remember
this drive to
it's kind of a it's a good way to help
transition into it
new place when
to Bozeman we had our stuff in a storage
unit digit Landon from Bozeman we had
her dog at the time Brodie who's passed
away
we were just vacationing or slow travel
right basically we decided to stay there
instead of actually think we did that
Merkel we ended up staying in Bozeman
our stuff is in storage and when we
scoop down a plan where we play if it
was I was going to fly that and get this
stuff out of storage put it up to a
u-haul truck put this truck and I'm
driving right now which is a full size
of 150 but to a trailer in the back of
the year ball and then drag them with my
dad from Atlanta those men which is
about it's a three day drive but leave
three day drive is about thirty hours if
I remember right about 30 hours roughly
rush the drive my dad nine like Menelaus
some time we had a couple interesting
things happen on that drive started off
a little bit Rock number one when you
on a trailer basically you tie down the
tires right tight on the tires to hold
it down the trailer that we had it was
just barely big enough to hold my truck
well because my truck is kind of on the
larger science what you can carry on
such a trailer the tie-down straps
would fit is some tie down straps were
too short when you tie Tyson went down
slap enough extra tie-down strap you
have enough surround so that you can tie
it down so that
attention you can't you know have like
this much extra I need to have like you
know
dextra to make sure they have long
enough straps I call a u-haul and ask if
I can get some straps I called a place
that got it they didn't have any call it
an office which is like you know an hour
away
the other side of Atlanta
I could go picks up pick them up I know
it that would basically hurt two hours
so myself deep felt bond a couple of
tied down straps which you know I never
looked for before they're readily
available and you know they're pretty
high-tech ships are relatively expensive
so I think I'm spending $40 for the
straps that needed strap down the tires
and then work up together
I got on the ground everything was good
for about I don't know 25 minutes the
trailer we were pulling with my truck on
it got a flat tire on the interstate was
about 90 degrees
it was so up it was so hot so I got a
flat tire air and people that are
familiar with the Atlanta area this was
very close to Jimmy Carter
on 85 heading south luckily my dad was
driving easily has more experience
driving
emergency situations like that so anyway
I went down you put on the hazards
pulled over and it turned out to be the
best place we could have had a flat tire
probably I called up you Paul
situation it had somebody out there and
like 15 minutes if you're unfamiliar
with the Atlanta area work that area
Channel it's just kind of a hub of
retail in industry there are offices
just many different companies it's just
there's a shitload of businesses around
there including towing companies and
contractors and vendors that I believe
probably for you so that you won't
dispatch someone superfast and we had an
entire linear and smear with in like
half an hour so my dad I just said the
truck with the AC running cuz it was so
hot and we just sat there waited until
they came it took the guy about I don't
know less than five minutes to give it
and do his work and probably happen that
was me signing paperwork I'll tell ya a
couple of the other things
came up so I think we're like Iowa or
something like that
a terrible storm it's terrible right by
the river there see the storm and
strength shear straight-line winds were
so intense I thought the truck is going
to blow over
I was afraid we were driving into a
tornado or something like that it was
just a really terrible storm all through
the drive you can see you know
thunderheads the big beetle clouds in
the distance sometimes you can see
storms
if we drove directly through one of
those that was just so intense again
look my dad was driving at that point
and you just kind of follow the
tractor-trailer ahead of you finally the
other thing I remember is on that drive
by my dad and I were we're making good
time we're actually we're driving until
it was pretty late in them
you don't really just find a hotel check
in and basically drive until we got
entire roughly whatever going to wake up
get going again I think I would send
alarm fairly early just in case but my
dad I wake up early which is not great I
prefer to sleep a little longer but
those occasions not bad to make good
time so I think we were able to go a
little faster and we expected so what
date one you know we we started like
sort of in the afternoon we kind of
hiccups with a flat tire than the strap
issue the point is we were I think
[Music]
we shall resume from Bozeman we past
Billings and we're gonna
like stop stay in a hotel like a couple
hours I was so close but we're retired
basically it's very interesting you know
battling back track and you haven't
traveled linked in this part of the
country or to northern latitudes
know that during the summer today is
getting very long
when you're up in this latitude like the
sunrises sunsets they last a long time
so dawn kind of comes earlier and it
lasts longer before the Sun rises as the
Sun setting you still have like a little
bit of dusk you know a little bit of
light
so that's relevant because we're driving
and it's it's good driving because it
stays brighter so at nine o'clock nine
o'clock p.m. the sun's still up and by
10:30 like the less liver of light is
still in the horizon which means we were
trying to drive it and drive it and then
we're like we didn't tire and a
little sneaky here and
pull over and find some prints that you
know super 8 or whatever cheap motel or
hotel we can get into Holiday Inn things
and whatever
doesn't really matter we pull off it was
around like big tipper it may be like
yeah
small towns off Interstate 90 kind of
close to the highway 212 which is one of
me you know it's winding gateways to
Yellowstone right through the Beartooth
Highway
I mean picks up the highways everything
to 12 is mercy my window so we stopped
somewhere round in there happen to
commit a Friday night which we had not
realized so we pull in and maybe I don't
know it's like 10 o'clock ranks we're
gonna tire what is done all the hotels
were full in that area
there's no other hotels and stop amazing
there were a couple hours away maybe you
know we're gonna have but
a little bit partner that we wanted to
be no hotels were were
that one of the reasons why that's
relevant is I think we only had one ear
venomous right so we have one air
mattress of the house and you call this
full and it had our or another bed and
the crane or what method we can use some
all that to say we didn't have a place
for everyone we made the decision to
keep driving right we didn't have much
of a choice first to me so we kept
driving and then I was like no we go by
Walmart pick up an air mattress we're
gonna pass on the way to the house
anyway so let's run it rubbing your
mattress and then go to the house one
that's one of the other things I
remember is driving it my dad trying to
like find a hotel not finding what and
just pushing through I think my rolled
into the driveway ground
after we got through the Walmarts
situation so it was all good there and
my parents came up a few times
which was great my dad he knew that at
that time
apartment that we say that and then the
following year he blew up two for like a
week
when we bought a house no Elvis forgot
what we were driving cross-country that
first time a tu Paul stop by male
Rushmore
with the presidents on it near Rapid
City South Dakota because my dad so we
were able to take a side trip over to
Rapid City which was cool iconic places
to stop by the great American road trip
another road trip
and a couple years later was my mom and
dad and I drove from
Pennsylvania
hurts you
bilis men
you know we picked up a similar round
along the way but obviously that's made
this much further north and my mom had
not seen Mount Rushmore so we stopped by
there too my dad's been twice I've been
four or five times and out my mom got
the CT so that was good pepper he's
driving into Bozeman like I said I enjoy
the long
there's something cool around about the
Montana area
or at least like this surrounding states
- Hammond Wyoming now it's pretty much
the same as Montana so I'm gonna keep on
drivin here there's a little bit less
snow here and it was a stretch back
there yes a little north of cats burg
where there wasn't much snow at all I
think the next big tip we're gonna run
into is shine so let's push on here
overall it made a really good time I
just got off the exit here off of 25 and
yeah went pretty quick yeah made good
time looking forward to stretching my
legs and getting out of the car drinking
some water these last couple trips I've
actually sort of dehydrated myself
intentionally so that I would not have
to stop as often to go pee because like
the fourth the fourth drive up or down
that I've done
six weeks or so and for at least one of
the trips maybe you wanted one and a
half for the rise of the four
I had to pee really bad and it was kind
of like that emergency situation so yeah
I try to not drink that much here we are
et hydrated almost almost home and she
soon
a few minutes they'll be unloaded the
truck and luckily it's not like right at
dinner time right at dinnertime it's
like you what you need to kind of relax
but in this case that quite dinnertime
so I'll be able to spend some time when
loading and then settled al did have
some dinner
