hi guys welcome to another whiteboard
session a lot of these so much easier
before we start today I just only know
that I'm gonna be doing a Q&A every week
now or I could take a lot of questions
I'm going to go pro and put them on cars
and other driving with a chat talk and
go over some questions okay so if you
have any questions to the below and they
don't get to them I'll probably put them
in the video because I get a lot of spam
on this channel in the coming section so
I do miss a lot of stuff I try to come
back another look alright so today I
want to talk about testing products on
facebook okay
oh there seems to be kind of the point
for a lot of people have trouble and I
understand that it's very very hard but
in the few disciplinary rules you need
to stick to which we'll talk about and
when testing these are the kind of that
the key things I look for and that is
click-through rate I've had to use a red
pin I hope you can see that because our
blue one right out of juice look for
click-through rate I look for positive
cash flow
all are kind of a little bit negative or
even you understand that in the second
but you're not going to get many of them
at the stand at this stage that's kind
of what I look for right and we'll cover
cover that under think now but before we
do that I want to mention something -
there's two types of people that
advertise effective right is you've
owned your testers so people they get a
bunch of products and they test test
test that you've got your researchers
who are research a few products or one
product and they'll make good money
selling their products they've done
their research properly I'm a tester I
just gone Express I find a bunch of
products and I test that's how I do mine
I do you don't like to spend too much
time research and if I fall in love with
a particular product I will start doing
reverse engineering on come come
and all that but that's really like kind
of advanced stuff you have to do that
sort of stuff properly but I want to
talk about let's say we have 10 products
ok so this thing's gone sell Express or
wherever and you found 10 products and
different niches all right
and let's say you want you want to
basically test test those so before you
get into it it's really clear that this
is how I do things it's not how
everybody does things kissed us if it
works feel might not work for you this
is how I build my stores by doing
testing this way now we're not going to
talk about PPE here ok so I I use PPE
sometimes to just find and just finding
that interested sometimes not always
owned or we've been doing website
conversions okay this is same pass the
PPE stage if that's what you do and
we're going to have 10 $5 ends it's ok
and what I'll do is I'll actually put
them to get me started
I'll put a line here so I know whether
stop in case we have ok so go past that
point it's a beautiful day today I'm
going fishing after this soon as that
water comes up and out of value here
I'll turn it down to like two hours so
we're going to have 10 Ed's it's ok 1 2
3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 at $5 each let's say I
ran them for two days now the time frame
doesn't matter here I'm just doing it
for the video you might run yours for
one two three four days I love you guys
and have different criterias and all
sorts of stuff so I'm guys like to spend
two three dollars before and find a
winner some people like to spend five so
those who likes to spend 10 20 30 and
just remember that this is not so I did
a video a while ago about on YouTube
about the 15 plus conversions and I had
a triple-double method but I'll Annette
method I was I've gone off a 15 and 15
profit dollar profit product okay so in
this example we're going to go kind of
like let's say product mix
$10 profit profit profit is very
important at this stage because if you
have a point like I said in my last
video work out how much you can spend if
you can spend more per product and your
testing stage you have a bit of an
advantage but a lot of people don't
cause it so in phone cases you're
selling Nikolas in the stuff you don't
have big margins you can't just take a
two-hour nickels and sell for 40 bucks I
mean you might never do that but it's
usually not the case so what is going to
say we have low ticket items here okay
low ticket items and then of it eight
dollars eight dollars profit or
something so you just don't get this
confused with any of my other methods
okay I have I have tons of different
methods it depends on and really one of
the key factors depends on their profit
of your product the more profit you make
the more room you have to move right for
this property you have the more lesser
room you have to move on your testing so
you'll see what I mean soon so let's say
we ran this for two days and and that
would be a hundred dollars I hope you
can see this red should be able to it
looks a little bit worse on there now oh
you know what I've got Shopify socks on
today I can you see those I got those
for Christmas from Shopify themselves so
they're very good socks too by the way
um so let's say we've spent five dollars
mean actually going to add sorry hundred
bucks you're not actually going to spend
a hundred dollars because we're going to
cut the set which I'll talk about soon
so you'll be fifty for two days
one hundred dollars all right I'm
actually very hot in this jumper so I
was going to take this off alright so
let's say you had your products to all
different interest different ages like
whatever you're doing you should really
be a bit broad here with your ages or
you found when you're bit ages with the
PPE whatever we're not going to dive
deep into that sort of stuff but let's
say on day one you get our one you get
zero sales here you get one sale here
you get we'll say another one sale here
you get the read here you get zero zero
to zero zero zero you I can get a lot of
day a lot of time when you get zeros
okay because that's just testing this is
what happens okay so day one we clearly
have one that's doing very very well but
there's some underlining next with that
one what Facebook said they do is
sometimes they will just get your
headset and they'll throw it out to
people really quickly who they think
will do your action now this is just
purchases became talk about purchases
here purchase this say for example we've
set up the purchase okay now I don't
recommend that a romera commend you to
add to cart but just for the sake of the
video we're going to segment on purpose
so we don't get confused we are going to
talk about answer carts as well
so what Facebook does is that said that
sometimes to gauge a feel of your your
audience they will just blow your budget
out really fast and they will try and
find you people that to be your action
drive is every educator purchases so it
might just blow it out fast in the first
day what that sometimes means is it kind
of against people a fake kind of thing
it does make like what what why isn't
sometimes you make it to three sales and
then in the next 45 days you might get
nothing okay
and you know this you've probably been
aware that you've probably seen it I've
seen it I've dealt with it because
sometimes Facebook just will go out and
try and get you that action straight
away they just that like they don't do
it all the time but they cast their net
out and do their best to try and get you
people who purchase or educate or just
whatever they'll just throw you out
there sometimes you'll get a bunch of
purposes and I might drop off sometimes
it's not common for this to happen if
you get three sales in the first 24
hours are usually pretty good but just
keep that on mind and then sometimes
Facebook what Facebook does as well so
in this case what they might do is
they'll get you three conversions at 5/3
whatever that is I don't know that off
the top of my head let's say let's say
for example
you get three conversions for any of
them up maybe Tolleson if I this is say
you get three conversions for a dollar
fifty right just for this example okay
and then it goes up the next day you get
less and less and you get n it goes up
to three dollars or something and it
fluctuates there is another example you
get a high high per costs for the first
cup of basis there are four dollars and
another time it goes down to like I
don't know two dollars when you first
start your ad set Facebook is trying to
gauge what to do with your case and the
adjustment optimizing stands your fresh
to the game so two things are happening
you're either going to get a lot a few
cutters quite a lot of actions and a
cheap price and then it will go up over
time or you'll get a high price and all
come down those are the two scenarios so
the other day actually I thought I did
one and I'm doing $0.50 add two cups
okay I was like okay it's pretty good
but I knew that it will probably settle
somewhere and it settled at around about
a dollar I was going around about a
dollar
I'm Tim to a dollar forty right stay on
their day on day out fluctuates a little
bit you know cuz sometimes you know that
sometimes you get more than less per day
you'll get the same everyday experience
at that inconsistent sufficient
automatic bidding that's why I meddle
but it was created so it's settled near
what I was getting I was getting those
at the start so just remember when
you're testing your steps are always
going to be correct just because you get
three and you get some good cost at the
start doesn't necessarily mean it's
going to keep keep like that okay just
remember that all right so how do we
analyze his stuff the zeros okay
this is what just when your case that
you need to make quick decisions you
need to be smart you need to make
decisions on your thing in it and not
have any emotional attachment and you
need to get rid of the zeros
check out of sale and first 24 hours get
rid of the zeros you need to cut the fat
so fast when you're doing this because
you want to get your $100 budget down
so that means the next day I'm only
going to spending less than half my
money okay now this is five tests
indicate busbars testing no emotional
attachment test businesses get sounds
analyzed those sales get rid of the
zeros within the first 24 hours okay
that's better Spencer I mean you could
maybe like account I'll put a zero BAC
will analyze a zero okay just for the
sake of this video I'll put a zero back
they said you do want to spit out a
little bit more use analyze some stats
so I shouldn't just say cat it but just
if you are facing a bunch of products
and you don't want to know spend a lot
of money on it you do need to cut the
bat pretty quickly you need to trim that
down otherwise you're just going to be
wasting money okay because clearly
you've got some interest here okay now
the number ones be very careful of the
number ones these are tricky alright
guys my camera stops again and I'm
getting cold to put this deck on don't
buy a canon GX isn't they suck cuts out
like every ten minutes it's probably
sitting over measurements but Canon you
need to sort that out
all right number one they're very
dangerous not because you've got the
sale because people think that one sale
is good enough to scale or or to
determine with you every winning product
very very dangerous if you have one sale
after 24 to 48 hours okay very dangerous
because people can sometimes fall in
love with that sale and what they I tell
you what happens in a second but that
won't fail is probably a fluke sale okay
very common what happens is people in
facebook let us give us they'll write a
random sale or something you get lucky
or whatever and then people try to
upscale this a straight away because you
know the problem with Facebook man is
like people thing they can come in and
make money straight away because
everyone else has shown them huge
screenshots those screenshots are only
like 30 to 20 percent profit most of the
time so go they is not a fast
scaling thing like you can scale fast if
you do it properly no doubt you can get
too
thousands of dollars a day pretty
quickly okay we've done it but you can't
go from getting one sales to trying to
scale at a fast rate that's really not
the way it goes would all be multi
millionaires we wouldn't have to work
and we could just fit here and scale up
from that every day it's not how it
works guys so you need to get that out
of your head you need to change your
mindset if you think you can just get
one sale and boom you're in the money
not how it works so that could be a
fluke sale okay but it could be a good
sale salute sailors when you pretty much
get a sale you get one sale and the next
days you might get zero next day you
might get zero next day you might get
one again and then it just drops off but
you fall in love with these two sales
which one sale right you're in love a
little bit of a weird heart bet you're
in love so you keep throwing money into
this campaign with ads it because people
have told you that you have a winner you
don't have a winner of your ads exits
doing this now this brings me to ROI
though our positive our cash flow if you
can let it run and you're getting an
even or a positive cash flow let that
one run okay that's fine
but once you start getting no sales and
you stuck it into negative cash flow and
it's pretty obvious that this product
isn't getting any more sales or whatever
right the whole game of the game
assistance for sales right doesn't
matter if you're on an antique ad or
whatever you only the gauges for sales
if you're not getting sales when you're
standing into negative cash flow you can
maybe let it run for a tiny bit longer
and if you start getting into really big
negative cash flows like you pretty much
showing money down the toilet cut the
fat get rid of it okay
just get rid of it now there's a few
other things on this click-through rates
which we'll talk about soon when you're
testing you need to either get a lot of
sales or you need to get a consistent
flow of sales so if you get one if you
get um if you get one sales in zero
1 & 0 0 then 1 as long as you're getting
positive cash flow or at least even and
you're not losing money you can afford
to let that run from the bit and try to
get it try to fix the problem ok because
you obviously have people that are
interested but you need to just slowly
figure out the problem not just jump up
an upscale because people will have an
asset that's even right then they've got
a little bit of money coming in maybe or
Caesar and they'll be like hey I'm just
going to 10 grand a day that's what
that's what the pro told me I should do
now it's not how it works like you have
to make sure you actually have a good
structure a good solid exit before you
start doing stuff like this and usually
that's sort of a little bit into it's
not even automatically now
there's another fact here I hope this
video doesn't go too long for you set
fluke sales okay very common thing but
then it click-through rates and put this
up before this click-through rates and
they can determine um some stuff as well
they kind of things a bit about
underlining so there's all of this so
click-through rate average from around
about one to three percent which I found
okay one be pretty good on being pretty
average to mean alright and pre moderate
now if you have one sale and you'd have
a you have a high click-through rate
let's just say for instance you're
getting a five which is probably
above-average right you you have four
means to agree with me on that you're
getting a five but you've got one sale
now of course after one day you know
it's not we should probably do this on
day two right what what what does we
actually do click through rates on day
two okay it makes more sense because it
has more data so we'll do click-through
rates on day two so number one could be
a fluke but you're obviously basically
just let it run right because you've
made a sale at this point you're
positive cash flow you've only spent
five dollars per thing and and less
you're only trying to get two or three
dollars profit which is not ideal then
you'll be losing but your positive cash
flow here how you've made a sale you're
good to just let that run you can let
that run for another day
number three is good oK we've got lots
of sales we've got lucky and it's got a
ton but this here at this point is going
to be at this point looks like a winning
ad set but don't just go just take those
winnings to exit up to day one okay
Facebook has stated in their blog many
times and some webinars that have been -
it takes about two weeks to two weeks to
optimize an exit properly okay
properly they still optimizing stuff at
this point and try to optimize them you
get 15 plus and they start off the movie
and then it can take another week to
actually optimize properly like get to
the point of optimization you're not
just going to hit your 15 plus a week
and boom your optimized or twenty-five
plus a week that's not how it works
either it can take up to two weeks and
plus another seven days after any sort
of changes slight now usually it's not
the case usually it'll take a few hours
for your edit to adjust if you've made
some minor adjustments but this is like
kind of bigger adjustments so basically
when you're kissing you can have a lot
of fluctuations that's what I'm trying
to say here you can have a lot of
fluctuation so you're going to add ones
twos threes might go back down to zeros
after a few days but the problem is a
lot of people see these and they don't
even let it run they just try to upscale
or they duplicate they increase prices
really quickly and it's not really the
way to go and that's why your exits die
because you've just lit around for a day
duplicated it and Todd's Facebook go go
go go go but really you need to dust
just a little bit it just chill out just
let it chill out have some patience okay
so number three is clearly a bit of a
winner I'm going to analyze that more
and day two and then number two is
probably going to be a winner as well
going to analyze that now what do you do
off mr. zero here mr. zero and
is so you're going to be negative cash
flow you expect five dollars no drama
and you've got zero sales usually I
would kill that after 24 hours if I'm
aggressively testing but click-through
rate honest if you're getting a high
click-through rate from this after this
after the first day later say 5% you
know the average is one two three then
I'm probably going to let it run because
there is obviously a lot of interest now
there could be a few reasons and we need
to add the caps as well on day two but
it could be a few reasons it could be
free plus shipping
so people were going in and neck and you
know you're offering free plus shipping
and relief because they get unexpected
shipping cost but if you have a high
click-through rate I would probably just
let it run because you might be able to
snag a little going to purchase on the
next day if you have a low click-through
rate on something like 0.5 maybe even a
1% now bear month first 24 hours is
probably going to be exactly accurate
but if you have a low click-through rate
I would probably kill it because it just
means that there's no interest in that
product like that's really it like the
steps are important if you know low
click-through rate is just no interest
now I've known video to play steps
doesn't matter blah blah blah if you're
getting return if you're getting a
positive cash flow but they do matter if
you're not getting a pot if you're
getting a negative cash flow okay so I
know this is all mumbo jumbo numbers but
that's mathematics is a huge part of
Facebook and you know what I didn't
learn anything about mathematics and
school in fact I remember this is this
is when I knew school wasn't for me
I was a meth once doing algebra and I
asked the teacher a problem and she said
hang on Franklin if you got a book out
and read me the problem the solution
from a book she didn't even know the
solution of stuff so that's when I knew
school other for me when they were
teaching me out of a book but I learned
how to do mathematics because you need
to do it with Facebook you need to learn
that stuff and the your calculators of
stuff nowadays but just remember that
low click-through rate and you have a
zero there's probably not much interest
high click-through rate you can let it
run um and maybe change some stuff on
your site okay but but you're in the
kissing days you don't really
time for that right now so this is what
I would do okay low click-through rate
cut it after 24 hours two days three
days
like you just have been working doing a
two day period here you might run those
two three days four days five days I
don't know what we do but I would
probably just cut it high click-through
rate orally to run for a while because
we obviously have some interest there we
might be able to get a sale out of them
okay so for this example we're going to
just leave the zero there okay and we'll
use that as an example date - all right
so I hope that wasn't too confusing or
trying to slow down a bit but yeah it's
really about trying not to get sucked
into the post possible flutes okay once
now doesn't mean anything once that
doesn't mean nothing just analyze this
one a little bit more over time because
it could go down and sales they could be
an indication that you just got a bunch
of food sales really or Facebook does
put you in front of a whole bunch of
people that purchased number two is
pretty good same thing with that just
analyze it it's just really this to not
jump in and start scaling at this point
that's the biggest instead okay now none
day two we have this say day - we've got
three sales here at three total so
they've got two and we're at three total
now
so total this one we got zero sales and
so we're still at number one
we're still on one sale I'll just change
it on there actually make it a bit
easier okay so day two right number
three here got one here we got another
two here so the vector 5 so this one
here would be we spent $2 per conversion
that's pretty good number two stays like
that and number zero if that numbers
zero we cut it if it's at 1 we'll talk
about that
- and 0 will cut it right so licious a
day to zero cut it cut the fat from the
fat snow down to one two three four five
so you pay a hundred bucks down free
quickly and you haven't spent a hundred
bucks all right so Daisy remember this
is just data our example share depends
on what you're doing so we have let's
analyze this analyze the one that
clearly went in okay we have five stairs
we pay two dollars each
clearly that's a winner
okay that clearly a winner no denying
that absolutely but but look at things
like click-through rate answer cups okay
so let's say our click-through rate is
pretty good let's say let's say you have
a really low click-through rate okay
like 0.5 on this but you're getting
sales that's actually sometimes a good
thing because you can work on increasing
that to like your one on your two by
missing ly to exit later I enter it so
you have room to improve
okay you have a room to improve if you
have a high click-through rate and
you're getting sales we have a lot of
drop-off so I'm going to site then you
can look at improving a site but that's
the whole nother story so just look kind
of look at click-through rates as well
if you're the local of three rate you
can learn lots and sounds actually I'm
good it's actually a good thing because
it means that people actually the people
that actually go into your site there's
not many people but they actually
purchasing the product okay our next is
add because if this has a good advocate
ratio so let's say this has five sales
and it's got on four and two carts
well let's say three that's something
more realistic it's got three entry
cards Oh what am i doing on three
advocates that means that basically for
every three pick three people that are
so I messed that up
I gotta compete here on the wrong way
let's say we have seven handicaps
eight it was an eight add two cups that
means that every eight people that went
away to cut five searches we only had um
three drop-offs that's Roscoe so we're
three drop-off that's a pretty good
ratio it means that we have a pretty
good funnel we have people going to our
product page we're in going to the
we have been going to the checkups and
purchasing and we only had three
drop-offs here so to me that's a very
good indication that we are good ok now
even if you had higher exit carts you're
still pretty good but just as the cats
become quite quite important because if
you have low earthly carts and sales and
a good amount of sales it means that
your funnel is working ok you don't have
any mini drop-offs and stuff if you're
having lots of drop-offs and you're
obviously later on go back and figure
things out you might go to get more
sales ok so but you don't really need to
worry about all of this ok
if you clearly have a lot of purchases
you can worry about that later this is
just kind of what I begin for it could
be too much probably is too much but
clearly you have our winner in the
giving good positive cash flow here ok
so this is a winner at this point now
what do you do with that just let it run
for a few more days ok just let it run
as long as you're getting a positive
cash flow so you know you might get even
if you've got two sales next day maybe
one the next day and you went back up to
three and four and it was kind of
fluctuating a bit of the next few days
but you're still getting positive cash
flow just let it run for a little bit
longer and just be patient and maybe
after a few days starts
you can either duplicate it'll start to
increase the budget somehow on this EDS
it ok but just let it run on it 5 bucks
just for a little bit like you don't
have to get your 15 plus conversions in
the first week you can just let it run
for a little bit then just slowly work
up to that conversion point I'm not
saying you have to jump in and get 15
plus straightaway ok Facebook still
getting at your sales and stuff it's
just not going to optimize that its
optimal level until you start getting
that per week ok but if you're getting 4
5 a day you should you should get there
anyway so that's a winner alright 5
sales at $2 each

ok after two days now that's pretty good
scenario that's probably the best
scenario you would get you're probably
most likely going to be three the twos
on the two
so let's say we have number three here
I've got one sale on the first day now
it's got two this is a good indication
that um it's probably going to get more
obviously that's an obvious thing but um
once again let this run check add to
custom it probably too early to check
out the car service you've only got
through sales but I'm do click-through
rates again if you're getting a really
high click-through rate but you're
getting you've only got three sales it
means you can down means that you might
get a lot of drop-offs on your store if
you have a low click-through rate and
you have room to improve on that okay
but you know you don't have to worry
about foot through rectus that's what I
do as long as you're getting a good
amount of obvious sales okay you're not
getting just ones and zeros and ones and
there isn't even even like you know a
two up to three or four days and just
focus on these and you can worry about
steps a little bit later okay and
improving a store and stuff and or the
products page so you get remember it's
not about overall improving your entire
store it's about improving each product
page you might have a product page that
has an amazing flow you might have a
product page that doesn't so you kind of
have to optimize every single page and
sometimes that can be why you get less
sales on summon sales and other product
so it's a to massive thing like it's not
just Facebook and vertex and cause
problems that's everything that can
cause problems you know one thing I see
quite often is so shocking and people
will say hey you know I I yeah I must
pop something up here okay I right now
that in Buckhead eleven thousand emails
I clean my email box out about six eight
weeks ago so I see a lot of stuff a lot
of stuff I don't see a lot of it either
but this is what happens a lot of guys
will get one or two sales and will die
off and they'll come to me and say
Franklin what's going on I look at their
page and they've got a picture with two
lines of description or the Le
expressive script descriptions in there
come on guys give it wiser than that I
you know this
get a little bit glides in there don't
worry about your whole stores a whole
but differently worry about your product
pages it's um you have to at least put a
bit at least put a bigger description is
an Aliexpress wanted them at the least
okay so anyway this is a winner for us
okay
um at this point so you just let it run
now number one we spell it one sale we
have pretty much spent $10 and we've
made one sale at five are at $10 so I'm
depending on your profit let's say your
profit is five dollars for instance
should be more we know negative cash
flow was that one sale I would probably
be willing to go a little bit more so
I'd actually let that run see if I can
pick up another sell if after three days
or four days they haven't got a sale
that number one I'm not going to fall in
love with it I'm not even going to
really care about the stats I'm just
going to you know maybe that has a high
click-through rate I'm not in the sales
I could possibly work on my store or
work on increase in that but honestly if
you've got winners here and winners here
you can afford to cut this you don't
need it like you've got some winners
here you don't need to be greedy and
have tons of winners because you're
going to want to disperse on one or two
products anywhere but if you're
struggling to find winners then you can
possibly let this run it has a high
click-through rate and you're not giving
the sales then you would work on
improving those people into sales now if
you're doing a free plus shipping in
you're getting huge click-through rates
and stuff you're not getting any of you
in so many drop-offs to stop doing food
price shipping on that product sometimes
it just doesn't work and it's not worth
bringing your shipping price down
because yes there's a self way more
volume on products so I will just cut it
some some products do well are free
price shipping and some notice once
again product depended very very
brilliant any other product so I would
cut this if I had these again I would
cut that if I didn't have any other
winners I would let that run for a
little bit longer and I will just watch
it and there goes and goes and goes
get like one cell here drops off and get
another one a few days later and drops
off and I'm still a negative cash flow I
will cut it I don't care you don't wanna
get emotionally attached anything like
that because it's just going to be a
headache fee on the long run all right
so that's that one so let's let me cut
that but a little bit really don't know
more and this one was what was this one
oh yeah if we got a one if we got a 1 on
the second day after the UM up in the
zero so we're going to zero the day
before and and then let's say we've got
zero on day two right we'll just
probably cut it but if you got one sale
and then okay there's some interest
there could be a fluke sale just let it
run for a little bit longer right you
might go to pick up pick pick up another
sale and then determine basically the
the role of this entire videos do not
take one purchase and base your staling
in your campaign in anything you do of
one purchase okay or even - even - oh
like - over a few days because there
could be food sales and it's a common
it's a common thing and what happens is
you fall in love with those sales
because you're like hold man I just got
my first sale amazing and that's awesome
like congratulations
but there's so many underlying factors
it could be a flip save you could just
it could be you know might drop off
later on you don't know so at this point
the zero that got a sale on day two I've
just didn't run okay because we don't
know what's going on with that one yet
okay number two is still at number two I
would let it run okay and in these ones
here these winners I will literally run
as well for a few more days they can
kind of start to kind of settle down
optimize a little bit figure out the
true value of my purchases okay
you're not going to know the true value
of your purchases for at least another
two or three days like I said Facebook
will come in and give you a high one
know maybe like like these are obviously
low because it is a good example these
are obviously low
conversion rates and plus like is threes
not three kind of what that feels dirty
something so if you've got three at ten
dollars that's three dollars thirty
three very good at per conversion okay
so per conversion this one is two
dollars per conversion and this one I
would expect to come down a little bit
okay this one has to tell it could
either go go either way but usually when
you start in the first few days you're
either going to get high or lower
conversions and they're going to go up
