How to Know When (and When NOT) to Outsource Something #Best Education Page #Online Earning

- Alright, let's, I have no idea what I'm doing.

What is this, I have no clue.

What's up, guys?

I'm here in the studio building a new PC computer.

We a need a new computer in the studio

for some live streaming stuff that we wanna do.

Plus I'm building out for VR gaming as well,

which you might see later on, if I ever finish this thing.

This is driving me nuts,

it's been build for the last couple of weeks.

Now you might be wondering,

Pat, why are you wasting your time building this computer?

You could easily find somebody to do it for you.

Why don't you outsource it?

You outsource a lot of other things.

And this is absolutely true.

I could find somebody else to outsource it for myself.

But stick around 'cause I wanna tell you

why I'm not outsourcing this.

I wanna tell you why it's okay to not outsource some things

and I wanna give you three excuses

that if you are making as an excuse to not outsource

then you probably should be outsourcing.

So stick around.

Now some of you might be working on things

that you could also potentially outsource yourself.

But I'm here to tell you that it's okay

not to outsource everything.

Just like with this computer,

although I am quote, wasting a lot of time building it,

it is something that I am happy to do

and that's okay to do sometimes.

You don't have to follow everybody who's saying,

you have to outsource every single thing you're gonna do

like tie your shoes, you can tie your own shoes.

So excuse number one not to outsource that we all make,

which again, it's a sign that you probably

should be outsourcing.

Is if you think that nobody can do it better than you.

Now there are some things that you just can't outsource

like if you're the host of your own podcast

and your name is on the show,

like obviously you'd be doing that yourself.

But a lot of times, people make the excuse that

you know what, I just, nobody can do it better than me.

And that's not true.

There is likely people who can do it,

not just better than you, but faster than you.

And I learned this back in 2014

when I started outsourcing my podcast for the first time,

the editing of it and also the graphics and the artwork,

there were a lot of people who could do it

much better than me even though I could do it myself.

And by the day, I'm actually

not screwing anything right now.

Well, the second excuse a lot of people make

is they don't trust other people to do that work for them.

It's not that there's nobody else out there that can do it,

but they just don't trust other people to do it for them,

now if that's the excuse that you're making,

you probably just haven't found the right people yet.

Perhaps you had a bad experience with somebody in the past,

you haven't done your due diligence

to find the right people to do that work for you.

You kinda have to get over yourself

and understand that yes, there are people

who can do it for you and everything's gonna okay.

Now if this the excuse you're making,

you're probably suffering

from a little thing called perfectionism.

Something that many entrepreneurs suffer from too.

That just means you want everything

to be done perfectly in your own special way.

But guess what, it doesn't have to be done that way.

Really, you're actually doing your audience

a disservice because you're holding yourself back

from actually moving forward

by wanting everything to be perfect.

So, if you don't trust anybody else,

well, you probably don't trust yourself either.

Move forward, pick somebody,

and have them do that work for you

so you can do the things that only you can really do.

And third excuse that most people make

which is the most common is that,

this is really awkward (laughs).

Now the third excuse that most people make

is that they don't have enough money.

How can I afford outsource,

I haven't even started my business yet.

Now this is very common.

Two things, number one, you don't need

to spend a ton of money to outsource.

Specially a lot of the small repetitive things

that you might do.

You can find somebody, potentially overseas

in the Philippines or even some people locally,

people coming out of college on Craigslist.

There's a lot of people who can do a lot of those

minimal things for a small price

that can clear your plate so you can do the things

that you need to do.

Number two and this is the big one.

Yes, it might cost money but time is money as well.

And how much time are you costing yourself

by doing these things yourself?

Think about that.

Now if you're making one of those three excuses,

you probably should be outsourcing some of those things

that you're thinking of outsourcing.

However, like I said earlier,

you don't have to outsource everything,

specially if it's something that you enjoy

and are having fun doing.

Even though, in some of those moments,

you don't enjoy it at all.
