last video of a three video series on
how to make 500 dollars online per day
without ever making a video on YouTube
okay so the first video we did I showed
you exactly how to select the right
videos download them okay with a free
download software ok program in the
second video I show you how to download
him again but then also show you how to
edit them and to create add your own
logos and those type of things so in
this third video after you've downloaded
your video you've edited you're ready to
start posting your video I'm gonna show
you how to create a custom thumbnail for
free and I'm also going to show you the
importance of tags and your long tail
keywords so that's going to be really
important when you're promoting this
video ok so that's how you get video
views you have a great thumbnail and I
think the thumbnail is gonna be one of
the most important things that you need
to learn how to do and I'm going to show
you if you can't do a thumbnail if
you're not very creative or you like
myself I'm gonna show you an alternative
on how to get a great thumbnail ok guys

alright guys welcome back this is Victor
Pettis and this is the third and final
video on how to make $500 a day on
today I'm going to show you how to
create a engaging thumbnail and also how
to use your tags and the longtail
keywords that get you ranked on YouTube
so you can get your video out there so
you can actually have YouTube actually
working for you to promote your video so
with that said the first thing I'm going
to do is go straight to canva now
canva.com is is right there's the
website the URL address right there is a
free is a free website where you can
actually create edit and create all
kinds of thumbnails and a lot of other
things too but I use it mainly for
thumbnails if you look at these numbers
here
okay 1920 by 1080 okay so what I want
you to do is when you get to canva I
want you to click custom dimensions
right here you're gonna click that and
you're going to type in 1920 to 1080
here you're gonna hit create new design
because 1920 by 1080 is the perfect
thumbnail size for YouTube videos okay
so make a note of that then what I want
you to do is you can you can use a
picture from the actual video that you
created as a thumbnail let's say there
is a cool clip of the video and and you
went frame by frame and you found a
really cool clip of let's say you're
doing the airplane dramatic airplane
moves or something and you found a
really cool clip of a airplane move in
the video that you actually downloaded
you can actually use that as your
thumbnail but we're gonna start from
scratch here okay so when you're in
canva okay you've got a lot of options
here's elements is going to be a one of
the main buttons are going to be
you're gonna click on elements here and
then I want you to go to photos okay now
photos I'm gonna click I'm gonna I'm
going to type in there's millions of
photos here that are free to use now
some you have to pay for with canva but
most of them are free to use so I want
you to click on error airplane
let me type that in an airplane crash
okay let's hit enter okay so you can see
some kind of airplane crashing you can
kind of go through you and it says that
they're free to use as you can see they
are all free to use so far a lot of
these are just pictures of airplanes
really cool pictures high-def pictures
really neat I mean you could use picture
like this but if I'm doing a video about
airplane crashes I'm gonna want
something a little more dramatic so I'm
gonna go with something like this here
this is I'm gonna select this right here
and as you can see this picture
obviously is of a crashed airplane not a
funny subject but for the purpose of
this video this will work so when I land
out the the canvas here is the 1920 by
1080 that we typed in to begin with so I
want you to stretch by pulling these
across here and stretch that until it
fills the actual screen and you can move
it around as you can as you wish so the
reason I'm spending some time on
thumbnails is because I truly believe
that thumbnails are one of the most if
not the most important thing when you're
creating a video through YouTube because
thumbnails are the first thing that
people see and I've said this in the
past you can have the absolute best
content best video that you've ever made
but if your thumbnail isn't engaging or
enticing for somebody to click on it
you're not gonna get any view you're not
gonna get the views that you expect to
get because you
you have amazing content and a great
video but the thumbnail is that
important it's like the first impression
it's the first thing people see so it's
important that you spend a little time
in creating a good quality thumbnail and
I'm showing you the freeway okay
this is the absolute freeway to do it
now after your thumbnails there and it's
centered then I want you to go to your
text okay and I'm gonna click Add
heading right here
and it's automatically gonna go right
into the middle of the plate page and
then I'm gonna put I want to put
something like horrific this is just for
the sake of this video horrific plane
crash okay we'll stop there now you can
barely see that I know I want to move
this around here so now you can start
editing this okay so I want you to
change the size first of all we're gonna
change the size we want we want the
thumbnail text to be large okay we want
and then see how it it took up the
length of the actual page well we're
gonna stretch it we're gonna stretch it
out a little bit okay horrific crash
alright and then we're gonna change I'm
gonna change the color okay so I'm
thinking maybe a red so you can click on
color right here this button here and I
clicked on this red which is the kind of
a default color but then I'm going to go
to this plus sign I'm gonna adjust my
red because I want it to really pop
alright so there it is horrific crash
okay so I think I can make that now you
go oh also you can change the font this
is the default font Admiral fat face or
whatever that is I personally like Anton
you can make a note of that if you like
something better great but I like Anton
right there you see how it changed
everything now I can stretch this either
way but now I want to make this text
larger because I have more room to work
with with Anton it's just two different
fonts I'm gonna go to 104 see what
happens this is your font size right
here hit there
down 104 I then go for I can go larger
than that it's got a 144 okay let's see
let's just because you got to remember
what you're seeing on this screen right
here is not going to be the same size
you're gonna see on a small thumbnail so
you want the text to really be as large
as possible and you want it to really
pop okay now that might be too large
because now it's covering the picture
completely so I'm gonna I'm gonna reduce
the size okay and I might even just
bring it down here it says you can mess
with this I mean a lot of things you can
play with here okay horrific plane crash
I think I like the 104 better okay
perfect plane crash and we're gonna put
we're gonna we're done with that text
now you can also Center this text with
canva you see that little line coming to
code that means it's centered okay you
can drop it right there okay I'm gonna
add another heading I'm gonna come back
over here and add another heading okay
and I'm gonna put caught on camera with
an exclamation point so I'm gonna go
back and change my my tack my font to
104 I'm sorry my a size of font to 104
and then I'm gonna change it also to ant
on again anton sitting right here cuz i
just used it boom there it is and then
i'm going to stretch it okay
then of course i'm going to change the
color highlight it and I go to this
color now this red color right here is
right there because I just used it so I
just click on that and now it matches
okay so I can move this around I can
bring it down I can you know Center it I
can stretch it out some more okay so
this isn't really a can of a tutorial
even though it kind of is but but what I
what out what about the point I'm trying
to make is you got to spend a little
time
on your thumbnails ok moving them around
seeing what works because like I said I
truly believe the thumbnails are a big
part of your success on getting video
views okay so we're done with that part
of it for the sake of this I'm gonna
leave it like that now here's a little
hack that a lot of people use but a lot
of people don't know
so arrows pointing towards something in
a thumbnail seem to have more clicks on
it for whatever reason because you're
basically directing people to something
on the thumbnail and they automatically
want to click on it to see what's going
on so if you go back to your searched
right here okay and then we just typing
curved arrows oh I mean I'm in okay I'm
gonna go to I'm in photos I want to go
to graphics there we go okay so I
switched it to graphics so I don't
necessarily have to pay for so I don't
necessarily need to point to anything in
particular to be honest with you
so I'm gonna drag this arrow into the
picture right here this is free okay now
I'm gonna change the size I'm going to
I'm gonna make it smaller okay and I'm
going to pick I'm gonna put an arrow
towards something in the picture right
like this okay so now obviously I do not
like this color so what I'm gonna do is
I'm going to click on the arrow once I
click on the arrow okay I'm gonna go to
my color right here and I can change
that to the same red if I wanted to if I
want it to be a different color I can
change it to blue or purple or orange or
whatever color I choose to but I'm gonna
stick with the red excuse me I'm gonna
stick with a red and I'm pointing
towards something in the picture that
doesn't necessarily mean anything and
I've used this technique before
gotten some you know it it seems to be
it seems to work because it's human
nature it draws attention and that's
what you're that's what you're trying to
do with a thumbnail it's that important
you want to draw people's attention to
click on something so they see a picture
of a of a of a crashed plane but you
also have an arrow with in that picture
pointing to something and people want to
know what that is okay so you're you're
basically directing them to a particular
spot on the actual photograph which in
some cases it can be something that
means a lot to the picture but in a lot
of cases it doesn't have to mean
anything okay and you can you can kind
of angle it if you want and you know do
it this number you know to kind of get
the attention so that to me is a
thumbnail that might get some attention
so when you're done with that you're
gonna publish it right here let's just
say we're done with that
okay well by the way you can filter
these pictures by the way right here
brightness contrast so it depends on
what you're trying to accomplish so I
usually Brett Brack down the brightness
just a tad I bring up the contrast okay
and then the saturation I definitely
bring up a little bit okay
like so and then the blur if you blur it
it's gonna you don't want it to blur
well that actually is not a bad idea if
because it really focuses on the picture
I'm sorry on the text so I can actually
blur a little bit of it it might be too
much like that like a like that and it
really focuses on the text or you can
bring it the other way where it's very
very focused on the picture you see that
so canva actually has some really cool
tools that you can use to create a great
thumbnail so I'm gonna hit publish I'm
done with that I'm gonna download that
okay we're gonna let that download and I
usually save this kind of stuff to my to
my desktop anyway
so there's my canva thumbnail right
there so I'm gonna save that to my
desktop there we go
change it to my desktop here and that's
done okay someone I can exit out of here
okay we're gonna get out of canva
completely but canva.com is my go-to
place when I want to do my own
thumbnails okay so really really cool
free software that anybody can use so
it's important issue did you know that
it's out there okay and with a little
bit of just tweaking and working with it
you can you can actually make some
pretty good thumbnails okay so I will
show you some of the thumbnail that you
see here like this these son nails here
I actually made all on canva this one
here this video went viral on my on my
youtube channel right here 33k on views
but every one of these thumbnails you
can see I actually got better and making
thumbnails these are some of the first
videos I ever did or yeah and some of
the first thumbnails you can see I
didn't I didn't do a very good job of
some of these thumbnails they were kind
of all over the place then I started
learning a little bit more about
thumbnails and what gets clicks and then
all of a sudden boom I started getting
better with my thumbnails the colors and
things like that so you have to work
through it just like I did I mean you
have to learn the process of making
thumbnails these thumbnails that you see
here are professionally done I actually
had them done and that's gonna be the
second way you can create thumbnails I'm
going to show you how to do that or
where to go to do that okay guys so what
I decided to do is I'm going to take my
use one of the YouTube channels that I
that I have and I'm going to take a
video and I'm gonna show you how to
upload that thumbnail we just created
okay so I'm gonna go to my creator
studio here here so we're gonna view all
my videos here on this particular
channel now I have this video here that
I wasn't real excited about the thumb
that I did so I'm gonna use this as you
know as the example so I'm gonna edit
this video now the it's already uploaded
to your YouTube channel you're not gonna
have any une thumbnail here when you
first upload it okay but let's assume
that we're gonna we're gonna add the
thumbnail that we just created on canvas
so we're gonna create thumbnail here now
you can walk through this video and you
can use like you can use a video steel
okay where you can kind of pause and you
can kind of step by step through each
frame to see what you wanted to what you
want to use you can enemy exit out of
here okay
see I can do that if I wanted to I can
kind of I can go here like look at these
look at these videos here and maybe use
that picture but it's kind of blurry or
whatever you can use these video stills
as your thumbnail that's not a problem
with the actual video which is what I
mentioned earlier but we already created
a thumbnail so I'm gonna go to other
image okay and I'm gonna click drop file
here so it's gonna open up I have a set
of tour it opens up my desktop and here
is the actual thumbnail that we created
right here so I'm gonna double click on
that there it is now I'm gonna hit next
hit next okay we're gonna we're gonna
edit this text right here we're gonna
delete this because I had this on their
previous thumbnail not trying to confuse
anybody okay so I just deleted the text
because the text I want is what we
created on Canada so we're gonna hit
next again and we're gonna save the
thumbnail let that do its thing
now once it's saved you constantly want
to go ahead and I'm gonna hit close you
constantly want to go ahead and save
changes okay whenever you do something
you're gonna save changes right here
we're gonna save that okay and then if
you want to hit the back button to go
look at the video again with the new
thumbnail you hit the back button after
you saved your change it's
okay and there it is so you can see how
small the thumbnail looks that's why
it's important to have really popping
text with colorful text that's really
vivid that really stands out okay so
there is a thumbnail and there's a video
same video but if i zoom in on this
which I will let me go back here there's
a thumbnail okay so that's it's that
important guys remember the thumbnail to
me is one of the most important things
that you can have on any of your videos
okay here's a thumbnail that I took also
look at this one as horrific plane
crashes that's an engaging I didn't put
any text on this one and this video has
gotten twenty three hundred and fifty
four views okay and it's only I posted
it less than a month ago okay so the
thumbnails really mean a lot when it
comes to people clicking on it so I know
I've said it before all right so now
you're done with a thumbnail okay now
you need to go into the actual video
we're gonna go into the we're gonna go
ahead and go into this video because it
does have the plane-crash
tags and things that I wanted that I
want you guys to see okay so we use the
what we did here is if you notice these
these tags right here okay these tags
are plane crash horrific plane crashes
caught on camera terrifying plane crash
basically what you want to do is you
want to go here to search and you want
to start typing in horrific plane plane
crash caught on video okay and then you
want it so we're gonna we're gonna go
there
look there's mine right there look at
that I'm ranked on the first page of
YouTube when you type that keyword in
there's my plane crash right there okay
if you hit space it's going to give you
some other options in this case there
aren't it really any other options okay
so do you want to use that as let's say
your title and you also want to put that
in the actual body of your description
as well if you notice my title is
horrific plane crashes caught on tape
2019 I also have it in my the very first
sentence of my description as well

2019 okay and then I added not for the
squeamish I think that's you know I just
added that myself going back to the tag
though plane crash or if a plane crash
so if you type in a horrific plane let's
do that again caught on video there it
is so I'm gonna look for a video that
has a lot of views okay something that a
video that like here's one right here

that's five years ago I'd rather have
something more recent so I'm gonna I can
filter here and go to this year all
right so of course mine came up first
look at that look at that there's my
video right there I'm might the name of
my channel is tube TV and that's that's
my video but I'm gonna go to a video
that has a lot more views in mind this
one has a hundred and forty two thousand
views okay when if they have fifty five
hundred subscribers that's a viral video
right there I may use that one this one
has four hundred and that's worse
accidents okay I want I want to find
something that has a lot of views here's
one eight months old it's four hundred
four to one thousand views they only
have a thousand subscribers so I'm gonna
click on this video okay
okay I'm gonna pause the video okay so
now what I use is I use a Chrome
extension called vid IQ if you look it
down here there's a bit IQ I'm not
paying for it you can you can download
this extension very easy to do
and what it does for you is that it
shows you the people's tags that they
used right here look at these tags
tragic airshow crash so I'm gonna start
using some of these same tags because
when Pete when this video gets ranked
and it's ranking very high on YouTube
obviously I want to be wrong what I want
the same tags on my video as the high
ranking video that has 400,000 views
already okay
so that my video will show up as well
there's a possibility that's how you can
rank your video or help rank your video
by using the right tags so let's go to
actual let's actually go to my video
okay here's my video right here right
here I'm going to click on that hit the
pause button and I'm going to show you
the tags I've used plane crash horrific
plane crashes caught on tape
terrifying plane crashes terrifying
plane crashes caught on camera horrific
plane crashes so really what you want to
do is you want to use that use the tags
where you think people are going to be
typing that in the search menu bar on
YouTube when they're looking for plane
crashes videos to watch so if I put
plane crashes caught on you know caught
on video okay well I have plane crashes
caught on camera plane crashes caught on
video right here okay you see them
saying so this is a when people start
typing plane crashes these are gonna be
suggested keywords that most people are
gonna click on like I want to click on
plane cars caught on video well I want
that to be one of my tags because people
are gonna click on that and they're more
than likely going to run
to my video there it is right there okay
three weeks old and I've got 2.1
thousand views because of that tag does
that make sense you got to have the
right tags guys so feel free to borrow
tags from other people's videos like I
have done that have proven to get looks
and views and it starts ranking you on
on Google and Google and on on YouTube
okay
so the two things that I wanted the
three things I want to talk about which
we've already talked about is creating a
thumbnail an engaging high click
thumbnail which is very important that's
why I went through the tutorial with can
because it's because I spent more time
on that than anything
then it's about uploading the thumbnail
and putting some text on it and I showed
you how to do that on canva the next
step is to make sure your tags are in
order and you welcome to check out other
people's videos that have similar videos
like my video right here and here are my
tags here deadly plane crash caught on

mergency landing horrible plane crash
and so there's a lot of different things
you can do to add your tags so the
thumbnail is going to get them to click
the tags are gonna get you to rank so
that they can see your video and see
that cool thumbnail that you created
that make them want to click on it so
you can have a really really cool
thumbnail but if if if you don't have
the right tags and you get ranked on the
third or fourth page of YouTube nobody's
ever gonna see the thumbnail because
most people don't don't go to the third
or fourth page of YouTube you want to
get ranked on the first page of YouTube
because that's when you're gonna start
getting clicks and that's when you can
start having people watching your videos
guys I have there's a lot more details I
could give you about creating videos
compilation videos on YouTube and by you
know how to create a really good
engaging thumbnail I kind of went
through it a little quickly today
because this video is running a little
bit longer than I expected but you get
the gist of it you figure out you find
the videos
line through the Creative Commons
licensing you upload them or you
download them that with the free
downloader that I showed you then you
start editing them like I showed you
with with the editing tool you can use a
paid like Camtasia like or you can use
the free software that I showed you as
well okay once you're done editing and
creating your videos and putting your
logos on there which I showed you as
well then the next step is to create
your thumbnail and you can use a video
steal from the actual video that you
just downloaded if it's good enough or
you can create your own free thumbnail
through canva now the last thing I
wanted to show you is the thumbnails
that I showed you on my channel right
here okay these last few thumbnails here
were all professionally done so what do
I do to create or to get these
professional thumbnails well I go to a
website called fiber okay and if you go
to fiber and I've done videos on this
you can find people that do thumbnails
look at this one right here I've used
this guy for a long time now he's got
115 reviews and a perfect 5.0 and a lot
of them are mine by the way that her
reviews $5 he'll Cree he creates a
thumbnail for $5 okay I've got people
doing three two or three thumbnails for
$5 anyway can was a whole different
review video but check out canva they
can do a thumbnail usually within a 24
hour period and you can have results
like these thumbnails you see here okay
these are photo that these are used
these are done used by Photoshop so that
very professionally done they look very
very good I stopped doing thumbnails
myself right around here three months
ago here maybe I did this was my last
one I did actually and then I started
paying for it right here okay and five
dollars for two or three thumbnails
being that thumbnails are probably one
of the most important
when it comes to your YouTube videos is
a great investment in my opinion so with
