in this video I'm gonna be installing

the SEO plugin ranked math it's a plugin

that I've heard so many good things

about everyone's raving about it they

say it's way better than Yoast it's the

only SEO plugin you need right now it's

got all the features that you need and

it's completely free and if you want you

know those features with Yoast you've

got to pay for them so yeah it's

basically a no-brainer you got to

install rank math so today I'm gonna be

switching over from Yoast on best roof

books comm which is my Amazon affiliate

website I'm gonna take you through it

completely off the cuff I'm not

installed to plug in yet or anything

like that we're just gonna gonna do it

I'm gonna show you exactly what the

process is and you know if we come

across any errors or anything like that

I'll share them with you as well but

I've heard it's really easy

well in fact I do know it's quite easy

because I've installed it on another

site previously and it seemed to work

pretty well there's a nice setup wizard

and it can import all your settings from

any existing SEO plugins that you

haven't you're running including Yoast

and but yeah it takes care of all of it

for you is kind of lovely interface

really easy to use now I was a little

bit nervous about doing this because my

website is doing pretty well in organic

search in fact you know the graph is

going up every single month in terms of

the number of keywords that I'm game

index for and them amount of traffic I'm

getting for organic search so I really

do hope that what I've heard is true and

that rank map is an excellent plug-in

and it's not going to have a negative

effect on my search engine traffic and

of course I will keep you guys updated

on the effect that it has I'll do

another video in a month or so on

exactly what has happened in terms of

organic traffic since switching over to

rank map anyway I think that's enough

let's start by installing rank math the

plugin I'm gonna leave Yoast installed

for now because I think rank math will

help me transfer all my settings over

from Yoast well let's see shall we so

I'm gonna go to plugins and add new then

in this box up here I'm gonna type in a

right math it should of course be ranked

maths but we'll let that one go this

first one that comes up we're gonna

click install now

and then I'm gonna click activate

okay so that's activated let's jump into

the setting so I've got this new area

here go right there funny enough let's

give it a click so the first step is to

sign in with your rank map count you can

get one for free by clicking on this

link I've already got one because I set

this plugin up on another website of

mine so let me just log in then

so it's really easy to sign up just

click on that and you can do it without

Facebook or email address you know

whatever so let's click activate direct

math

says we are good to go so let's start

the wizard

now it's saying we can import some

settings from Yoast so yeah we'll

definitely do that and we can import our

redirections from our redirections

plugin so why not let's let's do that

so now we're gonna be setting up some

things about the site it's asking what

type of site best roof box is it's not

really a personal blog I'd say it's an

other business site maybe

business-type is a Wow there's lots of

things in here isn't there I'd imagine

nothing else is jumping out at me

so now we're going to hook up to the

Google search console so let's click get

we want sitemaps on I'd imagine that the

sitemap is a same URL as Yoast hopefully

so we don't need to update a Google

search console include images here why

not post some pages yep categories

it's all fine I'm going to leave that as

it is this is easy isn't it

right optimization

no index empty category in tank archives

yep okay nofollow external links

yet that would be good because a lot of

my external links are Amazon affiliate

links and really they should be nofollow

and automatically open external links in

a new tab or window yep

leave that on

so enable auto update of the plug-in

here we could turn that honking we

proudly show the SEO score to your

visitors know anything will do that

now let's jump into the Advanced Options

have a look what we got in there it's a

roll manager

now the editor can do titles and metas I

do have an editor so I appreciate give

them the option to do that

do advanced settings as well I trust

them

don't need to here for all of those

different roles

so if you got other users to access your

site you're gonna want to set those

options if you don't then probably don't

worry about it too much

404 monitor it's really good thing to

have to return it on

and combined with redirections it will

automatically redirect the 44 so that's

good xav continue

we do want Rich Snippets

and it's for articles yep definitely

articles

type is an article it's not really a

blog post they are generally articles

rich snippet type four pages it's

unlikely that any of my pages are gonna

really come up because they're just like

about as pages and stuff so I'll leave

it as article for now

and I don't need my templates having any

Rich Snippets oh let's leave that okay

so well as loads of things here we've

turned on most stuff most of stuff but I

need a I'm got buddypress I've got a MP

BB press any of that stuff so that's all

fine

we'll get much Furman let's just check

that it's turned off those other two

plugins Yost in the redirections

yep turned it off perfect and off the

redirection plugin now we'll remove

these shortly but I'll leave them there

just for the time being just to make

sure everything's working correctly

let's go back into the rank map SEO

dashboard but I say on a check is that

I should say I'm gonna check that the

URL is the same which it is let's have a

there's a lovely sitemap perfect

so you've got some lovely easy settings

here free time I have much clearer and

easier to use than Yoast I can already

see that so you can go for and decide

what you want to include in your sitemap

generally you want to include posts and

pages if you've got products that also

appear here and you will of course want

to include them

Media I don't think it's that important

to include media in a sitemap and I

don't want those my templates are but I

sort of Elementor I think isn't it I

don't them category is yes tags no

that's all good

I think we're pretty much all done

really help me let's not look at the

redirections

yep they've all come across nicely so

generally the redirections I've got on

this site are just when I've changed the

URL on a post and it's automatically

added a redirection so people don't get

a 404 error they think they've all come

across I better just clear my cache

cache eh whatever you like to call it as

we made quite a significant change to

site check everything's working

still what might

hang up there never look at a post let's

just check the title tags are all good

yep the title tags all good now of

course I probably need to go through all

of my posts and starts you optimize them

using rack math I just have a look at

this one and I'll look twice this one

quickly show you how it works very

similar to Yoast you get this panel here

you need to come into the kind of

standard WordPress editor I'm not sure

it integrates that well of Elementor at

the moment just you know edit post

rather than edit with elemental and we

need to set a focus keyword for the post

written or so well with SEO in mind I've

it indexed of course we do whatever

reason you didn't want to a piece of

content index you tick that one over

there well the rest is fine

it set a canonical

l here so if you've got two pages that

are similar or you've got you could

content whatever you can let Google know

which one is the most important one in

the main page

does that's advance let's oh look at the

rich snippet

it's taken those settings from the

settings that we set just a moment ago

so they will find social

we can add a image which of course would

be that one so let's do that

I'm not sure you really need to do this

on every page because it will in theory

by default take the featured image and

we could tweak this if we want to do but

you know it looks fine

at icon over later from now

hmm that have an icon I want to add

like a video or something you could use

that

plus you get that scary message you just

put me right off so let's turn that off

settings done for that post so yeah of

course when I'm adding new posts all

make sure that they're all optimized

using that and I will slowly over time

go back through all my old posts and

just make sure they've got all those

green ticks

so there we go I mean that's it was easy

wasn't it really easy so what I'm gonna

do is I'm just gonna mark in my Google

Analytics today's date and a little note

that says that I've switched to ranked

map so that I can keep an eye on what

effect it has on my SEO traffic I'm

confident that it's gonna be a positive

one and of course I'll do an update

video in a few weeks once I know but

yeah we're all done that brings the end

of this video as I said I will of course

do an update video soon on the effects

that ranked mouth has had on the organic

traffic to the site I'd love to know
