hey miles here miles Becker calm and
this video is all about the difference
in marketing to beginners versus
advanced individuals in your market I
often refer to this as marketing to the
0 to 1 step people who are just trying
to get started
versus the 9 to tens the people who are
pro's trying to get to that level of
absolute excellence in their world now
both of these markets do deserve your
attention at some point but they're very
different and the results from your
efforts are gonna look very different
whether you're looking at your analytics
or your cash flow they're gonna be very
different depending on which side of
that equation
you focus on over time you're probably
going to be of service to both of those
audiences but this is really to help you
you're moving forward and also to allow
you to really understand the differences
and the benefits of each opportunity one
of the main ideas for I would like you
to kind of take away from this and hold
on to is that there's always going to be
more people going from step zero to one
then there are people going from steps 9
to 10 there's always more people trying
to emerge into a niche then there are
people who are at levels of excellence
trying to get to that next most like
super potential level within that niche
now as a content creator you are
probably getting much closer towards the
advanced and your focus for you to grow
what you're doing is probably clearly
focused on the more advanced side of
that scale let me give you an example
here so for me I've been making money
online since 2013 I've been full time
with this business I'm operating now
since 2010 and even if I go more
specifically into the Facebook
pay-per-click realm
I've been running Facebook pay-per-click
ads since about 2013 2014 so now I have
created lots of different videos on
Facebook advertising my most watched
videos are definitely the videos that
cover the basics the simple how-to stuff
that I learned years ago that I
implemented years ago that to me today
right now seems pretty
simple that is where most of my reach
and most of my new audience is entering
from the more advanced stuff the funnel
stacking the advanced retargeting the
two-step stuff which is where my focus
actually lies right now there is a much
smaller segment of an audience over in
that world but here's the kicker
generally speaking people in that more
advanced segment of your audience are
willing to invest more on getting to
that next level because they've built
the foundation and someone who's at a
nine trying to go to a ten is probably
already cashflow positive they're just
trying to increase their rewards to that
next level whereas someone who's at a
level zero they're not necessarily ready
to invest in education at this point in
time because they're just trying to
learn the lay of the land they maybe
haven't even spent their first dollars
on Facebook advertising yet I use this
real-world example from my audience from
my platform right here to help you
understand that if the way you're
building your content if you're 90 day
marketing challenge whether it's videos
or blog posts is focused on that nine to
ten segment and you're covering advanced
topics you're going to see a lot smaller
of numbers then if you are focused on
helping those beginners get going I love
growing a large audience and my goal is
to be of service to a large audience
which is why I have stepped all the way
back when I create my videos to make
sure that when I'm getting going I'm
starting at the absolute beginning so
someone who's new who just entered the
internet marketing space who just
decided they wanted to learn about and
kind of take steps towards making money
online this year in 2018 I need them to
be able to find my content and be able
to digest it my goal is to make it
simple I try to minimize the jargon that
I'm using and make my content extremely
digestible for these individuals because
if I can help them on their path become
a nine they're in that position ready to
invest to become a 10 right so I'm able
to help people who are at the beginning
phases number one it's a larger audience
number two and action
able to help them with more of their
journey this gives me the opportunity to
have more touch points in this situation
which will strengthen the relationship
and potentially get them to really truly
enjoy my content even more because
they've gone from zero to hero
although helping these people over here
can be a little bit quicker cash or
larger cash if I was to sell an
information product the people who are
at the zero to one level I would
probably sell a forty seven dollar
membership program that would be a
monthly fee maybe a ninety seven to one
ninety seven product if I'm focusing on
helping people who are already running
ads they're doing $10,000 a month of
revenue and they want to get to ten
thousand to get to a hundred thousand
dollars per month in revenue which I've
already helped people do with my channel
with the content here I would be
charging them thousands of dollars
because I know that their potential for
return is much greater than someone over
here so the kind of differentiation here
is a volume based business that does
potentially more customers more
transactions at a lower price point or a
higher end product that sells higher end
dollar value products to a more advanced
segment obviously it takes less
customers to generate more money on the
more advanced segment but your pool of
people you're going to be working
towards are much smaller also there's a
lot more people trying to sell things to
these more advanced individuals so
there's a little bit more noise in that
area where as being of service to those
getting started and really helping them
along their path can often be a
wide-open space one kind of goofy and
fun example is I'm purchasing a very
small what's called an fpv drone which
is a first person view drone is where
you put on like a little headset and the
drone which is a quadcopter has a little
camera on it and as you fly you're
essentially seeing what the quad is
seeing now if you go down the proverbial
rabbit hole and this and this is
endorsed right it's tiny it's it's this
it's super small just something for me
to goof off with in the evenings in the
house I've owned a few of these before
this will be my first fpv so I've flown
drones before I get the idea but I
wanted to
this new segment of that first person
view so I'm going down the rabbit hole
on YouTube and everyone is in this super
advanced world they're talking with all
this jargon and the transmitters and the
receivers and how to build them
yourselves from scratch and it blew my
mind I'm literally sitting here ready to
invest everyone's trying to promote
affiliate products in this space that's
another key thing to keep in mind so
everybody wants to effectively make
sales but here I am someone who's new to
the space trying to understand how can I
buy a beginner-friendly kit that's not
gonna be disposable right that I can
eventually build upon to advance as I
advance as a pilot of these kinds of
drones that was a big thing for me cuz I
don't wanna buy just a cheap plastic toy
that's gonna get thrown away I want
something that can grow and evolve with
me as I grow and evolve it took me month
I couldn't find I've been looking and
kind of dabbling in this not hard core
research for a very long time no one in
this niche is truly speaking to the
beginners they're all using jargon
they're all speaking to each other at
the level 5 6 7 8 9 10 and Beyond level
and there's no one being of service to
that beginner audience and this is where
I had the aha moment of I need to make a
video on this because there are more
people trying to get into the world into
this little world of this micro niche
there's more people trying to get
started than there are trying to become
professional racers and all the content
out there right now is focus on
professional racers and this super super
advanced level no one's being of service
to this audience there is a potential
goldmine being of service to this
beginner audience so as you move forward
the big takeaway here is to know where
are you in your content marketing if
you've been putting out really really
advanced content for your 90 day
challenge and you're like man why do I
have such small numbers why am I not
getting subscribers you are you're just
targeting the most advanced and the
smallest segments of the overall niche
that you're a part of you may if you
want to see your subscriber growth more
quickly your subscriber numbers grow
more quickly you may want to focus and
go back and look and ask yourself am i
covering the basics
do I have those 0 to 1 steps am i
defining the basic
terms am I making this easy for someone
who's never heard of it before who's
just now entering the space am i making
it easy for them to understand the big
picture as well as the individual nuts
and bolts and components we have asked
ourselves this question in my wife of my
main business over and over and over
again and we realized that there's more
new people coming into the spirituality
space coming into the meditation space
into our general niche then there are
people who are super far down the rabbit
hole interested in quantum physics and
and brainwave frequencies in beta versus
gamma versus Delta mind wave States
there's a lot more people in this newer
area now when my wife and I we go to
conferences in our space and read books
in our space and go down in consume
content we're consuming some of this
very advanced kind of content right I'm
learning what the difference is between
beta brainwaves and data and Delta and
theta brainwave states are this is what
I'm interested in but I just apply that
content in a way that is of service to
the beginners sometimes I don't mention
what's going on behind the scenes with
our meditations right it's almost as if
I'm implementing the things that they
desire without having to kind of
overwhelm them with the science and the
understanding of everything that's going
on because the beginners they just want
the result they want that feeling of
refreshing from doing a meditation that
kind of that kind of moment of peace
that comes from a meditation they don't
care if it's a completely customized
meditation track that I created that
goes from beta to fail to they felt beta
to theta to Delta
back to theta to help their brainwave go
through a series to where we actually
physically slowed down their brainwaves
say to help them enjoy more peace and
relaxation they don't really care about
that part that could confuse them what
they care about is the ability to
download click Play and feel better in
their lives so they can get a recharge
in the middle of their day so we keep
our content for our audience focused
over here because that's such a large
segment of our business we want to make
it easy digestible for these beginners
to get going
we obviously have content for the more
advanced people who are searching around
for it they will find us and they will
find the more advanced content over here
but this is the bulk of our focus
because this is where the audience is in
the tens hundreds maybe hundreds of
millions maybe billions of people are in
this segment where there's maybe
thousands hundreds of thousands of
people in the super advanced segment now
marketing to both is great having high
ticket product offerings to people who
are more advanced is a great way to earn
larger amounts of money you can get to
$10,000 a month quickly more quickly by
selling thousand dollar products
sometimes right ten thousand dollar
sales a month brings you in ten thousand
dollars but if you're making a hundred
dollar sale and you happen to have a
hundred X larger audience here it
actually could be easier to sell more to
the smaller audience it's a little bit
of the more eggs in more baskets
approach than it is having all of your
eggs in smaller baskets your cash flow
could fluctuate more if you're focusing
only on that really high end and you
have a handful of clients that generate
all of your income versus having a
membership program that has two thousand
people who are all paying $17 a month
that's gonna be a much more stable style
of income than having ten people who are
purchasing a thousand our product and if
you have a ten percent dip then you're
gonna see a significant dip in that
income these are just some ideas that I
wanted to share with you because it's
important I really think it's important
to remember the big key here is there's
more people trying to break into your
area there's more beginners there's more
noobs trying to get in and people so
quickly grow through the learning curve
they forget those early things that it
takes they forget those basic steps and
we start communicating with each other
on the jargon level and we get super
deep into the techie geeky stuff and we
totally ignore this gigantic audience
that's waiting for you to be of service
to them so as you're moving forward and
ask yourself am I focused on the nines
to tens and if you are are you
monetizing that and are you pricing
accordingly and do you have enough
volume of people here to support you or
are you focusing on the zeros to one and
are you really truly helping these be
beginners take all of these early first
steps to learn all of the little jargon
pieces to learn the basics helping them
in with the basics and helping them
advance and when you create a system
that meets the beginners where they're
at and you help them get to the advanced
levels to truly achieve the goals and
desires they want that is going to be
the most diverse and most stable
business that you can build for yourself
you're able to be of service for free
and at low price points this is the idea
of a value ladder which I will carry on
and kind of continue on in another video
in a future video but you're able to
start small with people who are just
getting started with free items with
opt-ins with your tripwires with your
first basic products and low dollar
memberships but then on the back end you
can have your bigger coaching programs
your one-on-one sessions and those types
of products that are able to generate
large amounts of cash flow for your most
ambitious people all while being of
service to those beginners and really
the full spectrum of individuals so ask
yourself am I focused on the advanced am
I focus on the beginning if you're
focused on helping the beginning people
have you made it super simple so anyone
your mum right your grandma could could
you could your grandma come into your
world of content and understand the
basics of what's going on and how the
individual components work together in
your space if not I highly recommend
putting out that content so you are
being of service to the beginners and if
you're over here and you really want to
stay focused on the high end high ticket
high valued individuals that's great I
think it's a great business model and it
works really well for people just know
that you're gonna see a lot smaller
numbers you're gonna have a smaller list
you're gonna have a smaller audience
size just based on this sheer principle
that there's always more beginners than
there are advanced individuals I think
it's best to be of service to both right
to work your way up to both you prove
you know what you're talking about when
you create all of that content for the
beginners and then you build your big
time cash flow systems when you're being
of service to those more advanced people
because you're able to help them make
more money more quickly than you're able
to help them but ultimately it's being
of service at scale and that is the full
scale and that's how it works I hope you
