My Crazy Summer (Full of "Stranger Things") 😉 Project and Life Update!

- Hey what's up team Flynn, Pat here.
I wanted to give you a quick update on all the crazy things
that have been happening this summer
because it's been a whirlwind.
And we're gonna go down the list right now
with number one!
So probably the biggest thing
that happened this summer was my first live event.
Like, I've done little live events before,
but this was my first big one with over 400 people
coming to San Diego for FlynnCon.
And yeah it was a smashing success.
Thank you to everybody who attended
and guess what you can go to FlynnCon.com
to see what's going on for FlynnCon two
'cause we already sold like 100 tickets to next year
which is amazing and I would love to see you there too.
Here's all the stuff that we took from the event
There's just loads of stuff in storage now.
Look out for a behind the scenes podcast episode
coming out in October where I'm interviewed
by Michael O'Neal from Solopreneur Hour.
Hear about all the things that happened behind the scenes
at FlynnCon, so look out for that.
All right next big thing that happened this summer
was Superfans came out on August 13th.
Thank you to everybody who helped support the book.
I gave it away to everybody who was at FlynnCon
and so far it's doing really really well.
It became an Amazon best seller,
who knows if it'll get on one of those other lists,
but it doesn't matter it's getting rave reviews right now,
thank you to everybody who's helped support it.
You can check it out at yoursuperfans.com.
If you want to check it out.
Go build superfans, right now.
All right next, we need to talk about the Switchpod.
Which I'm actually recording on right now.
So the Switchpod as you can see we got the packaging here,
it is awesome.
Here check this out, bam!
What!
And Caleb who's actually filming right there,
so meta right now,
he was in China not too long ago
to go there and make sure it's coming off the line well.
And everythings great there right?
- Yeah everything's good,
shipping a month from when we're filming this.
- Oh my gosh, its gonna be in the hands of all you backers
who helped support this campaign
in about a month which is insane.
Knock on wood if everything goes according to plan.
But check out some of the behind the scenes from China.
- He is, if you can tell, he's putting the screws in.
- Yeah, it's crazy.
And check it out, lookit, lookit,
every little piece, brother.
Yeah dude this is crazy.
(laughs)
- So if you want to get your hands on one of these,
just go to switchpod.co,
right now you could still pre-order,
but the backers from Kickstarter get it first.
(sings)
All right next up, lets talk about the studio build,
We are at about 85% done with it right now.
The big things were the audio stuff
which you saw earlier.
You could click on the card over there, over there,
one of these sides,
to go check out some of those videos as well,
but we still have a lot of videos planned.
We have a lot of equipment that is being put in here
that we want to shoot videos for
because a lot of you are gonna be asking about
how we do what we do in here.
So here is an example.
So we have the podcasting set up here,
but we're not quite done.
We have these cool Heil PR40s which we're gonna still use,
but we're gonna use--
(thud) Oops.
Yellowtec boom arms.
These are the ones from Rode which are decent,
but we want the Yellowtec ones.
We got a shipment, we need to put them together,
we need to sodder some stuff,
so you'll see that coming in a later video,
but it is by far the best boom arm
that I've seen for podcasting stuff,
same one that Joe Rogan uses on his podcast too,
so thank you Yellowtec, more videos coming soon.
All right next up we got the RODECaster Pro.
This thing is everything you need
to have a professional sounding podcast
all in one with different channels.
I mean there's so much to talk about
that it's not worth talking all about it in this video,
but it's helping me with the podcast
set up here in this studio,
it's also gonna connect to these mics
and we're also gonna connect all this
to this bad boy here,
which is the Roland VR-1HD
which allows us to do some cool things
like auto switch camera views
depending on who's speaking on what mic.
What?
Yes, thank you Sean Cannell for that recommendation
and thank you Roland for hooking us up with that.
Also on some of my live calls
I've been showing some of this set up here.
A lot of you have been asking about that,
we're gonna shoot some videos about this too.
Guess what, that DSLR right there,
that Canon, that's my webcam,
and I'm gonna show you how we all get that figured out.
Some lighting from aperture as well,
we're gonna teach you how to do lighting the way we do it,
and then also on the cheap
'cause this stuff is definitely not--
Hey puppy, puppy, puppy!
Definitely not cheap.
So, what else we got in here?
We got this Edelkrone Slider thing.
We have this insane telescope camera lens.
Like, this is a camer-- oops.
This is a camera lens, look at that,
What?
What?
Super macro-shooting, it's kinda amazing,
but it also looks kinda dangerous.
So yeah lots of things,
and lots of videos coming your way
so make sure you subscribe if you haven't already.
So beyond all that I also took some trips,
I went to Orlando for Podcast Movement, which was amazing.
I spoke there, I did a little book launch party too.
But it wasn't all work, I mean I had fun at those places,
and doing those things, setting those things up too,
but I also took some trips for personal things,
like my family and I we went to Hawaii.
I also went fly fishing with Michael Hyatt
which was really cool up in Boise and in Wyoming.
(cheering)
Yes!
Whoo!
Kind of random,
but I don't know if you could see this shirt.
for those of you who know "Stranger Things",
that's where this is from, check out this.
- Hey Pat, it's Todd Lawrence,
I don't know if you remember me from FlynnCon.
I told you that I taught one of
your favorite characters in "Stranger Things,
and I have a little surprise for ya.
- What's up, Pat, I'm Gaten,
and thank you so much for watching the show,
I appreciate you for being a fan,
yeah, hopefully I get to meet you in person one day.
- Yeah, so that happened which was really cool.
And then I also went to London with my family
and got to spend time with Chris Ducker,
one of my best friends, and both families got together,
we had a great time, we even did some stuff
with Pokemon cards which was kind of fun.
(giggling)
- Wait.
(excited shouting)
- Oh my god!
(shouting)
And then finally the team and I,
we've been working really hard to get a brand new
web design experience for smartpassiveincome.com
and PatFlynn.com, so actually gonna start
to see me blog a little bit more
and shoot some videos for PatFlynn.com
which is gonna be more my personal brand
where I can start talking about things
that I really, really care about,
like education, entrepreneurship for kids,
parenting, tesla, technology,
other things that aren't business related
are gonna live on PatFlynn.com.
So it'll be a lot of fun,
I hope you join me there later this year
you'll hear more about it later.
So that's the update, thank you for watching this,
thank you for subscribing,
and if you haven't done that, make sure you do that,
and let me know how your summer was,
what are the big things that you did
and accomplished and had fun with too.
So let me know in the comments section below,
team Flynn you're amazing, thanks for being here.
I look forward to serving you in the next upcoming videos,
we're here for you, cheers,
and team Flynn for the win.
