The 3 Most Common Mistakes Digital Entrepreneurs Make & How To Fix Them!

going to learn the three most common
mistakes digital entrepreneurs make both
newbies and advanced entrepreneurs alike
and how to fix them now I want to make
sure you can hear me I'm recording this
live so even if you're joined live or

hear me I'm just kind of keeping an eye
on that here to make sure that you can
actually hear me and see me good I'm
gonna move the windows around it's gonna
take me four seconds to get ready to
jump into it and again we are
specifically going into the three most
common mistakes that digital
entrepreneurs make and how to fix them
now I've put out 500 videos at this
point which is kind of a monumental feat
that I didn't even know I could do a
couple of years ago over 33,000 comments
on my channel and I have answered almost
everyone so cut that in half about half
of those are probably mine it's a 15,000
comments or mine this is my data points
right so I'm collecting a lot of data as
I'm moving forward helping entrepreneurs
and I see consistently we come back to
three specific things that are causing
big time challenges for new marketers
and kind of marketers who've been around
the block somebody who's had a nice big
kind of payout and all the sudden it
stops working is because of these three
mistakes they're incredibly common but
they are able to be fixed so I do have
some notes to keep myself on track and
I've got you all here I've got all kinds
of people so excited to see you guys

that that is working and let's jump in
so the three mistakes these mistakes are
what holding people back from really
truly hitting that 10 gra
nd a month mark
over and over month in and month out to
where you can really kind of stop
thinking about the money game because
what
when you build your business the right
way in a way that follows these three
things you leverage a couple of
different tools a couple of different
systems and the algorithms out there to
bring the right people to you with the
mindset and the positioning that they
want to give you money I know you've
probably heard some claims like that
before from some of the fake guru
courses but this is really how my wife
and I have built our businesses we do
not spend much time working on the sale
copy and the selling stuff that becomes
superfluous when you get all of this
other stuff correct and that's the goal
is to dial in and all these little
things all these other things right so
that the sales just show up and become
easy for you there looks like everyone
has all cool everybody's getting this so
perfect so what are the key is to grow
into successful business we're gonna go
through each one of those mistakes but
if I was to sum it up you need the right
strategy right this is the overarching
thing that you're following you need the
right tactics you need the right things
that you're doing that support the
strategy most people only pay attention
to the tactics they forget the strategy
and then you need to stick with it long
enough to get compounding results you
will not create the success you desire
without allowing yourself the time
needed to get compounding results what
does that mean well videos 1 through 90
on my channel brought me a net total of
a hundred and fifty subscribers 90
videos 90 days brat back-breaking not
really like mentally exhausting and
emotionally challenging on a level that
I have really not challenged and
experienced in my life that level of
challenge brought me a hundred and fifty
subscribers then I did another thirty
videos in 30 days and at that point I
had one hundred and twenty videos and
four hundred and fifty subscribers most
people look at those results and think
this stuff doesn't work or they jump
over it's like I YouTube doesn't work
let me start a blog or AB that doesn't
work maybe I should do Facebook
pay-per-click all right this doesn't or
I'll do drop shipping now jump from one
thing to the next
they don't give themselves the time to
get the power of compounding today 500
videos and now I've got ninety two
thousand Plus subscribers four point
five million views the numbers are
getting kind of fun and exciting at this
point and I gave it the time to compound
because all
videos are still bringing in new people
and now my new videos are bringing in
new people and I got 500 videos each one
is connecting me through an algorithm to
a bunch of different people who are
searching for a bunch of different
things and they just find their way to
me those who want more join my list
those who want more and keep taking
steps forward from there
so that's the overarching idea now now
we're gonna get into the three mistakes
because I want you to understand that
when you get these things out of your
way you can grow much much faster so the
first mistake is focusing on choosing
the product first or choosing the right
product first so many people and there's
even people teaching it there's a ton of
YouTube videos out there about like this
Clickbank thing is a hundred dollars a
day or here's how to find a dropshipping
product that'll get you a hundred
dollars a day and that is the 100%
backwards approach to building a
long-term successful business if you go
create a thing or if you decide I'm
gonna join this MLM and now this is my
product because I'm in that MLM or I'm
just gonna go find a product that I
think I can sell and I'm just gonna
figure out a way to sell it you've got
the game 100% backwards so what is the
right way to do it you got to flip that
around and you got to go audience first
you got to figure out who is that
audience that you can most be assistance
to right that you can help the most you
can deliver the most value to this often
comes from inside this comes from
something within your story this comes
from something within your past
experience if you've been making money
doing something for 20 years straight
the odds are you can go make money on
your own doing that same thing what I
mean by this is if you've been working
as a chiropractor for someone else's
practice for 20 years odds are you could
go create your own business around that
and make some money doing it now that's
not the example this is not a specific
digital example but the idea is if you
have professional experience in
something for a long time many people
get to the point where they're like I've
been doing this for 20 years I don't
really want to talk about it anymore
but that's really where the money is and
that's the easiest way you can go to
transition into a digital business is to
leverage something else you've done in
the past just in a little bit different
way as a consultant as someone who
creates courses a membership etc etc
there's a lot of ways this can work out
then there's there's obviously large
percentage you watching right now who
are like but mile
I haven't been making money doing things
for 20 years I'm a recent college grad
or I'm an eighteen year old or I've just
I've been doing a bunch of random things
for ten years and I don't actually know
what it is this is where a lot of people
tell you to follow your passions but the
funny thing about that phrase is anyone
who knows what they're passionate about
is already following their passions
right you don't have to teach somebody
who's passionate to go follow their
passion that's only something you say to
people who aren't passionate about
things and it just does not connect
because they're not passionate about
things so Tim Conley who was on the
channel recently uh he had the word he
was like find something that you have
affinity for it has such a powerful word
so I've said in the past another way to
look at this is what do you have a story
around stories are some of the most
powerful components within marketing now
my story is that I went through college
I did not learn how to make money in
college even though I thought I was
going to I racked up $50,000 in student
loan debt I got a piece of paper that
says I did it with zero knowledge of how
I was going to pay off that $50,000 in
student loan debt let alone how I was
gonna go create an income be able to
support a family you look fricking pay
rent and buy food like the absolute
basic college did nothing for me in that
sense so what did I do I had to figure
this game out and with a 95 dollar and
40 cent investment in a domain name and
web site hosting with my wife we've
built a business that is now generated
millions of dollars and that's plural at
this point it was just a million just a
year ago and I made that report so we're
two million dollars that we've generated
from our businesses at this point online
following one consistent path so the
reason why I am now teaching digital
marketing starting in 2016 is because I
had grown a business online through
digital marketing to a million dollar
business does that make sense my story
of how I paid off my student loans I
learned how to adult I guess you would
call it right how I learned all of the
the basics of taking care of myself in a
way independently of a corporation doing
this as an entrepreneur that was a seven
year process before I started teaching
this why am i teaching digital marketing
if it's not because I looked around and
thought it would be a cool niche to go
into it's because I have been making
money online since 2003 and I have a lot
of a story I have a lot of knowledge and
value
I can share with people who don't have
16 years of experience because that's
where I'm at right now I've been making
money online for 16 years does that make
sense to you so you need to look into
your past where's your story what have
you been doing consistently it can be
anything it can be video games my wife
went in the direction of spirituality
meditation and channeling because she
loves that it could be things you've
been collecting if you're into gemstones
and gemstone jewelry there's a whole
world of gemstones gemstones ood there
it could be literally anything remote or
planes drones cooking weight loss have
you lost a bunch of weight what have you
created in your life now again the whole
idea here is to not focus on product
first that's a problem because when you
find a when you start with the product
first everything new it's like it's like
if if you're a hammer everything looks
like a nail have you heard that phrase
before it's that concept right so when
when someone joins in NLM and I don't
have any network marketing products
around and let's say the product is you
know hard drives like all of a sudden
everybody needs a hard drive because
well I've sell them therefore everyone
needs them so now there's no way to
really find a story to find an affinity
point to find an interest point to find
a super specific sub niche but when you
look at your personal story and if your
personal story was that such you've been
running a business you've been writing a
manuscript you're author you're a writer
and all the sudden your system crash and
you lost your manuscript that was the
best thing you ever wrote and out of
that you realize that this system that
has a hard drive that syncs up with a
cloud backup and now your backup has a
backup and all of that your story is now
the most powerful thing and you can go
forth helping other authors who you have
an affinity to because you've been there
right that's how the game works when it
works best so you have to look inside of
you you have to look at what you're
curious about what you're interested
about and the one other thing I don't
think you can see on my whiteboard I
know you can't on YouTube Facebook can
almost see it since S comes with
struggle it's a quote that I have up
here to remind myself every single day
success comes with struggle you need to
love your goal you need to love your
niche because it comes with struggle in
the book big magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
which is a great book i 100% must read
for any new entrepreneur online person
and if you're if you're a lady you got
like she is just brilliant
um steven pressfield's pretty damn good
too with his world are they kind of say
the same sort of thing
she says that everything comes with
sandwiches so you got to be ready to eat
the sandwiches so every niche every
business you need to know that it is
gonna come with an amazing amount of
challenges and you damn well better love
that niche or you're gonna give up and
you're gonna jump to something before
you hit the point of compounding returns
on your efforts that's someone who just
thinks the digital marketing world would
be fun because they see my videos so
they enter it four months later of
brutal work every day they're seeing
this big of results they're like this
sucks yeah it does if you don't
truly love it you don't truly live it
and you don't have that skill level to
be able to compete with us pros who play
at the top of the game so you might want
to go into the how to grow some flowers
in a pot group because the how to grow
some flowers world does not have this
level of competition we do and you just
I'd be able to crank out the biggest
baddest sunflowers that make you look
like an absolute gardening boss on your
block that's where you need to go
because that's your affinity that's your
curiosity you're gonna be playing with
him every single year so I think this is
powerful and yeah masculine energies got
the name of the book is big magic by
Elizabeth Gilbert um amazing but listen
to an audible sheet she actually
narrates her she narrates it herself and
she her delivery is just so so so good
I've listened to it two or three times
now it's one of those ones along with
steven pressfield's book turning pro and
the war of art i've probably listened to
each one of those two four times each
they really drilled it on this idea that
every niche every business you build is
gonna come with an extreme amount of
challenges and you better love what you
do you better love that audience you're
being of service to you better love that
niche that you're in no randomly
choosing products that is it absolutely
the number one recipe for failure when
it comes out from within that is when it
really truly is in alignment because
you're gonna have that energy to
persevere and you have to persevere to
get the compounding results on your side
when I flew across the Pacific Ocean
three separate times during my 90 day
challenge one of those was a 40 Averell
hour travel time then I landed and I
caught the flu I literally caught the
flu I still did my video every
still did no gaze off period work like
yesterday Sunday all day work Saturday
all day I'm crushing it and I'm because
I'm passionate about this it's not
because I'm trying to make more Minds
I'm so passionate about helping you grow
your business this is the manifestation
of it so I believe I've beat number one
to death on to number two so second
biggest mistake most entrepreneurs make
they're not creating content for both
audiences and this is so key and I don't
care if you're doing Facebook
pay-per-click ads Google pay-per-click
ads Pinterest pay-per-click ads or
you're doing social media marketing
which is a tier two strategy don't roll
in on social marketing or you're doing
YouTube blogging podcasting it doesn't
matter there's always two audiences so
let's break that down what are the two
audiences number one it's the people
it's those people we were just talking
about in number one right that audience
that you're being of service to that's
clear that's obviously the content I
make on this channel must actually help
you if my content doesn't help you i
annoy you
I just pitched non-stop i I just don't
actually deliver the goods
you're not going engage you're not gonna
stick around
YouTube's gonna pick up on that there's
a second audience the algorithm you are
always in the world we live in right now
in the age of the internet you are
always working with an algorithm whether
you realize it or not your Facebook
organic marketing efforts the Facebook
live that we've got going on over there
right now right this is I'm working with
the Facebook algorithm in this moment
right now YouTube live got you right
here right this is working with the
YouTube algorithm the fact that my team
takes my content and gets it on my blog
the way they lay that out is to work
with the Google algorithm to make sure
my content ranks really well when we do
publish it pay-per-click ads right the
the relevant score is the number one way
you can look at how well your ad is
doing in the eyes of the YouTube excuse
me the Facebook pay-per-click algorithm
google gives you a relevance score on
your right there's there's all these
little indicators and they're everywhere
and sometimes they they clearly point
them out and other times they don't so
the big idea here at number two is that
you have two audiences that you're
always always always always always
having to apiece there's the humans the
actual people you're helping and then
there's the algorithms the algorithms
control which humans your content gets
reached through the fact that I'm doing
this live means I'm leveraging the
algorithm
to help me get a little extra bump or
boost in my content does this make sense
so you really need to make sure and and
here's where it's like if you heard the
the phrase it's like it's part science
and it's part art like that's really
what this is so the algorithms are
scientific the algorithms can be
understood through math they're written
in code they have rules since they have
rules in the written code they really
can it can be broken down based on math
I've even built some software tools to
help like reverse engineer what has a
higher likelihood of working or not
within the algorithm but then there's
the art side and that's actually like
the delivery of the content for the
humans it's it's your intro it's your
style it's it's whether you want an
gence or you stay on track it's it's how
you actually deliver the content and do
you have the skills can you actually
help them like if you can't grow a
badass sunflower plant that makes your
neighbors go wow could you help somebody
else grow about a sunflower plant that
makes them know right like you actually
have to be able to deliver on the goods
then you have to be able to communicate
it in a way that actually gets well
received by people some people look at
my YouTube videos they think they need
to do YouTube you know you could write
through a blog you could do a podcast
right and even the podcasts out they all
have algorithms the Apple iTunes podcast
there's an algorithm the the new and
noteworthy it's a massive amount of
exposure there's an algorithmic way to
trigger your podcast to get put up in
the new and noteworthy so you need to
make sure you understand first and
foremost that there's always an
algorithm behind it that has the ability
to either a connect you with a large
segments of your audience or be not show
you to anybody right and they're
monitoring everything so it's impossible
in this one video for me to go deep into
all of the different algorithms right
the the Pinterest organic algorithm is
delivering us nearly a million visits
per month I can't teach all that now I
have a ton of videos this these are all
the tactical things from them from here
down if you okay miles all in on that
like know that I have videos that go
deep deep deep into those and I've got
something at the end of this that I'll
show you that can help you really it's
like some software tools but more
specifically right now I want you to
just think from a strategic level that
in your strategy of how your
reducing content and where you're
producing content that every time you
publish you're thinking is this gonna
make the humans happy is this gonna make
the algorithms happy if you don't know
how to make the algorithms happy figure
out what platform you're on and search
my channel keyword research and SEO is
how we work with the search engine
optimization how we work with Google how
we work with YouTube etc and then
obviously social media runs on more
engagement based factors and I've been
teaching videos on that specifically so
there's always two audiences most
entrepreneurs only think about one they
either go all-in on the algorithm and
then their content looks weird to humans
because it's just keywords stopped and
it's just it's all focused on the
algorithm and it doesn't have that
artistic flavor that the human requires
to consume and engage it so it misses
the algorithm will show it but it gets a
terrible click-through rate and then the
algorithm picks that up in the
algorithms like you're not actually
helping people you're out of here we're
gonna replace you with someone who has
better engagement metrics or they're
creating great content just just like
salt-of-the-earth the best content in
the world it's really truly helpful
content but they didn't take time to do
keyword research they didn't take time
to optimize the post at all
they didn't take time to analyze who's
already ranking and how many different
h3 tags do they have and then actually
go build out their content in a way that
is within that same range of averages
and guess what the algorithms don't show
them the content surprise surprise
so you got to play both of those at the
same time the third is the strategy of
preeminence this is straight out of Jay
Abraham's playbook Jay brahim is an old
so he's hashtag old-school old school
cool if there ever was in the world of
marketing consultants he's probably the
one guy I respect the most in the world
of marketing consultants and he's been
doing it for 40 50 years have you ever
heard of the brand IcyHot
the cream that you put on for sore
muscles like him and his people they
bought that company and turned into a
billion dollar company and flipped it
like this dude is a gangster is a boss
his core idea that he brought to the
world is the strategy of preeminence
it's a big word so let's break it down
and make it small it's about giving
results first most people are trying to
sell sell sell sell every video ends in
a pitch every video goes to a pitch
everything is about the sale every
single time it's about the sale there's
even gurus out there who tell you you
have to be selling every email has to be
selling every Facebook live has to be
selling everything has to sell at every
single moment in time i 100% disagree
with that i know for a 100% fact that GA
abraham would disagree with that also
because when you give results in advance
people will absolutely line up and they
will find ways to give you money
it's how i've built this brand there's
miles back the brand that's doing am
wells generating i don't even know how
much money is generating but it's 20 30
40 thousand dollars per month roughly
from just this one brand and it started
because i spent two years doing nothing
but giving results first helping people
actually create businesses in a sea of
people who are doing nothing but
pitching surprise surprise i stood out
get it really easy but then the fact
that i gave people results they were
like miles i need to compensate you when
they were ready to buy a new theme when
they're ready to buy hosting they would
track me down i got comments left i
still get them all the time like what's
your affiliate link to this i want to
buy it and i want to pay you back and
i'm like here you go easy cheesy part
one in the comments every single day
right so there's that side of it but
then when i finally launched a product
people I got these reports from people
who were literally saying like I did not
even read the page scroll down as fast
as I could and I click the button then I
asked inside of the the product inside
the members area and literally dozens
and dozens and dozens of people were
like yep I didn't even blade I didn't
read a word on it I scrolled to the buy
button because I know that miles you can
get me the results that I desire how do
they know number one I've created the
result myself number two I've spent
years demonstrating that I can help
through five hundred separate videos
that have now reached millions and
millions of people that make sense so
you got to look at your content approach
are you delivering results in advance
and even if you're running pay-per-click
based campaigns most of the people you
send direct to a sales page are not
going to buy what are you doing with
that segment that does not buy the
ninety eight point five or ninety nine
point five percent of people who do not
buy what do you do with them do you
retarget them the more helpful content
to build a relationship to give value to
retarget them to an opt-in so you can
follow up so you can give them more
value so you can help them experience
results in advance because if you're not
you're never going to create a proper
business now mix this idea with
the big idea of partnering with the
algorithm and the requirement for
compounding results okay so I've been
putting out my YouTube videos I found
the thing inside of me that's fun and
easy to share we're talking about number
one that audience I can help I've built
two businesses to multi millions now I
can obviously get this a bit right I can
leverage the algorithm by creating great
content for the humans through the
YouTube channel right then the power of
compounding takes over cuz I've been
doing it for two and a half years and
I've got 500 videos that all pull in
little bits of things all my content is
focused on helping give results first
surprise surprise I've created an
extremely lucrative business this is
what most people get wrong they jump in
they choose a product then they only
focus on selling to humans and that's it
and they regard the algorithm may
disregard giving results in advance they
disregarded the audience that they could
actually help where they have a story
and they fail because they literally got
it wrong on all three levels of this but
when you get it right
magical things can happen so now I'm
gonna go into question and answer here
in a quick minute so I do have time to
answer some questions and go from there
but seeing this problem over and over
and over I have created a solution and
this solution is helping a group of
students of mine ramaa inner circle to
build successful businesses that are
following along with this exact plan to

absolutely ridiculous and not because we
have that system in place so I've got

deep dive SEO trainings etc so that's
the first part
now that solves the first problem which
is how to kind of get the niche going in
the audience versus just randomly
choosing a product that you think you're
gonna be able to sell because that's
gonna be a failure you need to find
something that comes from within so the
second part are the software tools I've
created now I have a very specific way
that I publish my YouTube videos that
triggers the algorithm the content on
YouTube I'm working on making it better
every time I'm really trying to make
this content as good as concise and
that's why I've got notes I took time to
prepare for this I don't always prepare
right I just shoot from the hip
sometimes but I'm always focused on
making it better but how do I actually
publish it what do I put in all of those
little pieces in those places where
YouTube allows me to give them data
that's the next big question is what do
you put in those places so I've created
a software tool the YouTube publish Pro
software tool that forces you to
optimize each and every video that you
publish like a boss it took my entire
system I worked with a software
developer to essentially take my system
and turn it into a software that anyone
can use that's inside of the program as
well now we've built an SEO publish Pro

on Google it is I've paid thousands I
paid one SEO several thousands of
dollars not to mention I flew across the
world twice flew to Europe once and

SEO optimization training it goes into
the deepest most cutting-edge SEO but
then again I worked my same developer

essentially forces you to do that
analysis it actually does 98% of the
analysis for you there's like two
percent you have to actually think for a
little bit but it literally does the
analysis for you tells you exactly how
to structure and layout your content in
a way that the algorithm is gonna fall
in love with so you can do your art of
creating great content and then you have
a tool that will teach you exactly how
to optimize that so it will get you the
max
results so you're putting effort making
the content you might as well take the
moment or two to optimize it for the
algorithm so you get that win-win right
that was number two I've created a

that will help you create a bunch of

come up with new topics they're relevant

I don't want to say we're overrun with
people but the comments move so quickly
there's so many questions I can't go
deep there's no opportunity for going
back and forth and then you go make a
tweak and we go back and forth you make
a tweak and all sudden three weeks later
you've made all these little tweaks and
you have revolutionized your approach
because we have that opportunity to go
back and forth so I've created a
community where I host live streams I've
got a live fun review and ad review
coming up for members only on Thursday I
do lives every month with the group not
to mention I put out the more the new
kind of advanced trainings when I see a
lot of people have questions on things
but there's the ability to just pop open
a new thread ask me a question and I
answer it and we just go from there the
cool part is you're connected with you
know hundreds of other entrepreneurs

insights from other people who have been
