videos gonna show you how to build an
opt-in page on your WordPress site with
the thrive architect plugin now this
videos gonna work for you in one of two
ways number one you're following along
in the DIY sales funnel video series and
you notice they have updated from what
they used to call the content builder
plug-in to their new architect plug-in
I'm still using this to this date and
I'm gonna show you in this video exactly
how to use the newer plugin the second
you just found this video on its own I
want you to know that this is part of a
larger video series I call it my DIY
sales funnel video series it's where I
show you how to build a leadpages
alternative or a clickfunnels
alternative sales funnel for just
pennies on the dollar I'll link to that
up here and this is just one component I
go on to how to build membership areas
and add-on shopping carts and all that
fun stuff so now that you're caught up
with where this video fits in on the
channel and the content I've got real
quick note about why they made this
change so thrive themes had the content
builder plugin for years and it was the
one I've been using for a long time but
thrive has also the team there has
wanted to really update the potential of
the functionality from within the plugin
one big functionality they've wanted to
add on for a long time but they were
limited to that old legacy code is the
ability to run split tests in the
WordPress dashboard so no more need to
go add-on Google code in order to you
know run the experiments in Google it'll
all live natively inside of the
WordPress dashboard this is huge for you
and I
but that functionality couldn't work
with the original code base that they
built for the content builder plugin so
they had to create this new plugin they
didn't do it just to mess with us and I
know we we both have to go through that
learning curve again if you were
familiar with the older one but I'm here
to tell you it's super simple to use
this new one and we're gonna jump in and
look at exactly how to do that now so on
the computer you'll see this is the
landing page that I originally created
with a content building plug-in I've
already copied down just to make it easy
my headline my body copy my image and my
button so I'm gonna recreate this from
scratch using the new plugin now if you
started on thrive content
and you now have the architect because
you've updated everything as long as
you've updated everything you should be
able to click up top and it'll take a
minute to load and again you need to
update your themes your plugins and your
WordPress and then give it a minute to
load and what its gonna do is
reconfigure the file to where or the
page to where you are able to update
kind of work on your older content and
your older opt-in pages you created with
the old plug-in you're able to still
work with that so that's what we're
doing here I just wanted you to see it
it does kind of convert what you already
did to the new stuff but for these
purposes in this video like I said I'm
gonna show you how to do this from
scratch one more thing before we jump
into it I've had a few comments saying
they changed it and miles I'm just gonna
sit here and wait until you show me how
to do the new ones and I'll admit it's
taking me a bit of time to get my studio
and get everything dialed to create this
newer video but there is so much
training available through thrive
members now I'm here in the thrive
themes members area first of all the
university is some of the most
comprehensive and best internet
marketing training out there this is a
higher level how to create your opt-in
how to create a product etc but what I
want to show you is down here under
product tutorials so we clicked on
product tutorials on the right give it
one second to load then down here you're
gonna see there's a thrive architect
click on that and what its gonna bring
up is literally a just a plethora of
trainings for you right so I just want
to make sure you know that that I'm
taking my time to show you how to use
this and how I use this to try to make
it simple but there's I mean there's
like this huge QuickStart tutorial and
then look they haven't broken up into
these different sections these are all
of the different tutorials here
available for you on how to use the
thrive architect plugin so the training
is there and since you purchased thrive
this is all available to you highly
recommend using the tools and the
resources you have definitely just just
keep making forward progress because
you'll figure it out with enough time
and enough persistence that said let's
finally jump in here so I'm gonna create
a new page so I just go to pages add new
and I'm gonna call this page free video
and I'm gonna publish it so the first
thing I do is I give it a title and I
click publish the reason I'm doing this
is because I want it to give it in the
URL and actually make it a real thing in
my system so now that it's actually
built in my WordPress I click on edit
with thrive architect and you'll see it
opens up that same looking window that
we had before now what you're gonna
notice is it's got like the the logo
it's not my header it looks a lot like a
wordpress page just have a footer and we
want this to be a dedicated landing page
so the first thing we need to do is
choose a template up here in the top
left you click the little gear wheel and
then there's template setup and then I'm
gonna choose a landing page template now
I'm gonna use the same template I used
last time to keep this nice and simple
so it looks the same which is this one
here and then the elementary two-step
lead generation and I click that and I
got to go to the bottom click choose
template and it's gonna load this with
all of the pre-configured content I like
this landing page because it's simple
I'm just I'm a huge fan of simple on
landing pages because I don't want I
just don't wanna get fancy right it's
it's I'm offering someone something a
value if they value it they like it
they're gonna click and they're gonna
take action so for me I want to delete
this upper area just like I had on the
last time and now you notice when we
hover over things kind of like how it
used to work it's pretty much the same
thing we get access to the different
components when I click it opens up a
new window that gives me more kind of
edit ability over here on the right so I
got the basic text stuff and these over
here on the right I am gonna go copy my
headline here in one second here just
copy that and I'm gonna go ctrl a paste
that in perfect and then down here I'm
gonna take the body copy that's what I
had there yeah copy that
oops
let me click out I got a little crazy I
click in there there we go
taste that they're capitalized this here
one quick second here
I'm gonna make a couple of quick bulbs
and I'm just using shortcuts on the
keyboard control B oops then I want to
go ahead and change this out so I click
on here and then on the left I've got
the change image button and I'm gonna
click that and it brings me into the
media library I could select files to
upload but this image should already be
in here so I'm just gonna select it down
here I've got to click insert and post
there that's there I had a special
button text so I'll click here and you
notice it allows me to change the text I
grab a button text click here to get the
free video again I'm just trying to
reinforce what they're going to get
super simple and I need to make sure
that this is functionality set up to
connect with my email system and I've
already connected my website and the
thrive leads tools into my email system
you saw that on the first video I just
need to connect it and make sure it's
dialed in correctly so I click on the
button here and it gives me all of the
options here on the left so now I click
on the animation and action and add new
on click it's gonna open a lightbox so
that's exactly what I want it to do and
now I need to use this up here let's see
open lightbox just gonna trigger on a
click open the Thrive lightbox and i can
already use my past lightbox or I can
create a new lightbox and the easiest
way for me to do it is simply to choose
my free DIY lightbox and then it gives
me the ability to edit my lightbox
now it's gonna pop this lightbox up in a
new window so now I'm operating in two
tabs this is the page I was creating
first right that we were just working
together this is going to bring my
lightbox
and this is the lightbox so it's all
setup I just look I make sure this is
working correctly again I'm updating so
if I wasn't updating it I would type in
the text I want I would choose what form
I want you can see it knows this is for
lead generation I click on the button
and you can see up here it's already got
my form options built in and I'm able to
edit the form options I can edit what
it's hooked to you can see it's already
hooked to my a Weber email list and then
you can go into the advanced if you want
and kind of at an error message if you
want to send people over to multiple
email lists it's super easy so click on
the Edit form elements you you literally
get the ability to get into the elements
so I clicked on that to be able to
update the the text inside of here so
really this is this is super easy to
kind of set up save and close there if
there's anything I needed to do you
wouldn't have a Weber showing if you're
starting over you could see that in my
other video again but you would just
need a set of your API connection and
then we choose the details what funnel
it's on what form you got to choose a
funnel in Aweber and then where they go
afterwards send it to a thank-you page
and again I've covered that in the other
video so this is all good I'm gonna
click Save on here and then I'm gonna X
this out and over back on my main page
here I'm gonna click Save at the bottom
and at this point my page is dialed in
so I want to preview this and I'm gonna
just kind of I think this one's where my
preview is so under the three dots click
preview and I'm still learning this
myself I'm still learning it and still
using it so free video reveals there's a
little bit of headroom right I had to
scroll down to get my button so I'm
gonna pull that out real quick because
you've probably noticed if you've seen
any of my other videos that I talked
about that a lot so I clicked here on
the right and then vertical position is
something I'm interested in where is it
actually let's choose this and I want to
go find there's gonna be layout position
so here we are you can see layout in
position these numbers are the padding
and you can see there's a hundred pixels
of padding up top I'm gonna drop that
down to 20 boom the whole thing moves up
in fact I'm gonna drop that down to zero
because I don't feel like I really need
that to have much gap then if I click
the text is there a line
that I know that's that's it there so
I'm gonna click save here come down my
button I think I can move my button up a
little bit I'm gonna put let's do 0
perfect actually I'm gonna do 10 and 10
so there's the outer padding and the
inner padding and this is this is the
game right this is how we this is how we
figure out how we want things to look
exactly how we want them to look it's
it's a little bit of kind of fiddling
with it you go in you save it and then
all changes are saved I'm gonna run
another preview real quick and that'll
give me a view I want to see the button
load there it is so now I've got the
button clickety of the free video
perfect I am stoked on how that came out
took me just a couple of minutes to set
out if I go through this process which I
obviously recommend that you test I've
got inside of the DIY sales funnel video
series I actually have an entire video
dedicated testing always test excuse me
and make sure that your autoresponder is
working correctly make sure that you as
a lead get put on to your correct list
make sure that the confirmation email
works make sure you go to the right
thank you page but that's it so this
this video again was meant to kind of
just fit right inside a video one it's
kind of like video 1.5 and the DIY sales
funnel video series I'll make sure that
