in this video I wanted to update you on
a few of the things that I've been doing
to my recently launched Amazon affiliate
website the site is called best roof box
comm it's this I hear you've probably
seen it I posted a full length tutorial
video on how I made this site just
yesterday so if you haven't seen that do
because actually the site was launched
about a week and a half ago and it's
taken me that long to actually edit the
video get it up yeah during that time I
have done a few things for the site it's
gaining a bit of traffic no sales just
yet but you know it's early days anyway
let's go into some detail and I'll tell
you exactly what I've been doing

that we're talking about today all
around affiliate marketing getting
traffic creating content all that kind
of good stuff so you're not gonna want

videos so I wanted to update you with a
few things that have done to the site
just to keep you all in the loop as I
mentioned no sales just yet but Amazon
is getting a healthy amount of clicks
from the site already some pleased with
that I've also noticed that a few of the
pages are ranking on Google so that's a
good sign but it is really early days
and it's gonna take a while for the site
to kind of bed in and for Google to
index it and stuff to start to happen
but you know I'm trying to be as patient
as I possibly can and that is one of the
things when it comes to creating an
affiliate marketing site you are gonna
need patience because it takes a little
while for Google to index you and the
rankings and traffic to come so patience
is a virtue so let's start by talking
about content if you had to take a look
at the site you'll see that there's
quite a few more articles on the site
since I launched it
I've been regularly adding new articles
as they've been delivered to me from my
writers and yeah really kind of filling
out the site quite nicely
now there's still nowhere near enough
content in my personal opinion I think
I'm up to about 20 ish articles at the
moment and I want to get that up to 50
really as quickly as I possibly can so
I've got some more articles on order I'm
just waiting for them to be written what
we're talking about articles and content
I have actually gone through a number of
the articles that I had delivered by
text and and rewritten them a little bit
in some places the language and the
wording weren't quite up to my standard
as a kind of native English speaker
though text them do promise that the
articles are written by a native English
speaker so I don't know what's going on
there but there was a little bit of
waffling stuff that I've rewritten or
taken out or added my own bits to so I
think the articles flow a little bit
better I've also been adding a few extra
elemental widgets to the article just to
kind of make them a little bit more
interesting so I've added things like
alerts and I've added some YouTube
videos
when it comes to adding YouTube videos
to your content just go over to YouTube
and do some searches around whatever
your articles about and you should be
able to find some suitable videos that
you can include in your post element has
got a really easy to use a video widget
all you got to do is paste in the link
to the video and it will do the rest for
you making it look really nice and then
you can drag it around and drop it into
the post wherever you want it to be as
I'm added loads more content I've also
made a slight adjustment to the home
page I've increased the number of posts
that are showing on the recent post
widget so I think it's up to nine now
and I also tweaked a little setting to
make them all an equal height it just
wasn't sitting quite right for me with
all kind of different heights so there's
a little tick box and you can just
adjust it and then they're all nicely
lined up in the same height I'm added a
new plug-in to add a layer of security
to the site because I thought you know
now I've got out on YouTube and it's
gonna be getting more traffic there's a
chance that it's gonna get hacked in
fact it probably will get hacked so I've
put the word fence plug-in onto the site
the free plug-in is very easy to install
and set up it kind of adds a firewall
and a whole lot of other security
measures to stop people hacking into
your site and keep it nice and safe so
I'd recommend that you do that to any
WordPress site that you having to be
running let's say it's free it doesn't
take up many resources or anything like
that and certainly worth doing because
there's nothing worse than your site
being hacked and then you've got to try
and clean it and then Google find out
and they remove from the search engines
and it can yea really mess up your kind
of business plan so yeah install word
fence and do it now by the way of course
anything that I'm talking about you'll
find a link to in the description you'll
also notice that I've added a privacy
policy privacy policy privacy privacy I
don't know let's call the whole thing
off and I've also added a cookie policy
and one of those annoying little banners
at the bottom of the site just to let
everyone know about the cookies and all
the rest of it you know it's an EU thing
they make us do it when we're in the EU
although the majority of the traffic to
the site is probably gonna be American
but you never know they could be some
people that come in from Europe
especially as my Peugeot 3008 article is
ranking quite well
so yeah I created this using the
fantastic I you bender which I'm still
not sure that I'm pronouncing correctly
but it's a great service it allows you
to very easily generate legally binding
or bounding bounding boiling I think
about too many coffees spam reef
struggling to talk but yeah it generates
some really good documents very easy to
add to your site I've actually done a
couple of videos on how to do this so
I'll put some links up to them right now
and you'll also find the links in the
description so if you want to make your
site look legit and indeed be legit and
then I recommend that you do add a
privacy policy and a cookie policy
finally I'm pleased to say that my
Adsense unit is now working it's been
approved by Google some reason it got
disapproved a number of times and I was
completely confused by that because I've
created an identical site on my test
server for testing and that's like I
only had a few bits of content and that
was approved straightaway by Google
whereas this site the live site which
had more content and I thought was
better was not approved twice so I just
kept adding content and then
resubmitting it and then eventually they
said yeah it's fine and now the ads are
showing so that's good so if you have a
problem getting approved for Adsense
don't give up just keep adding content
to your site and resubmitting it and
eventually Google will give you the
green light and you'll start showing
some ads that brings the end of this
