and one of the best businesses that I
think you can do from home is to be a
virtual assistant because being a
virtual assistant like my little puppy
here is actually a fantastic business

with you five online businesses you can
start this year where you can work from
an office you don't have to have a
typical nine-to-five job all of these
can be pretty much done from your home
like where I am right now and pretty
much all you need is access to either a
phone or a computer and you better get
started and hopefully start making some
money pretty soon hey by the way if

channel let's now start talking about
some of these online businesses that you
can do from your own home
alright so the first business that I'll
recommend that you can get started doing
at home is to actually start a podcast
and from there monetize that podcast
through a variety of methods that we'll
talk about in a bit so what is a podcast
well you probably know what a podcast is
but if you don't podcasts have really
grown in popularity over the last two or
three years you know there's a few
podcasts like the Joe Rogan poke podcast
or the h3 h3 podcast which are really
quite big and they get millions of
people watching or listening all the
time they actually watch as well because
they also put a video feature on it but
essentially a podcast is where you sit
down with a microphone and talk either
by yourself or to a guest for rent about
thirty minutes to maybe two hours now
the great thing is that it's super easy
to get started with podcasts so you can
get a microphone like I've got right
here this is just a blue Yeti nano
microphone this one costs around about a
hundred bucks you can even get ones that
cost about $50 but this is going to be
more than enough and this just plugs
directly into your computer you can also
just use your phone and maybe either get
a microphone on here or speak directly
into it and they're podcasting app so
you can get started so in terms of
technical equipment it's even easier
starting a podcast and it is probably to
start a YouTube channel so the great
thing with podcasts is the
you can monetize them so there are a few
different ways in which you could do
this and you know start a business with
it
the first way is to do ads so run ads
like you would either through YouTube so
if you're actually having your podcast
on YouTube you can get monetizing
through Google Adsense or you can do
like a featured ad spot which you would
kind of do like with a brand deal so you
might talk for one minute at the start
of your podcast about a service like
anchored FM or a Squarespace or
something like that and you can also do
that midway through your podcast as well
so you can actually build up multiple
different sponsorships in each podcast
now you might be saying well I don't
really have a big audience yet now you
might be saying well what would I talk
about in a podcast well really anything
that you're passionate about so for
example I if I was to start a podcast
maybe I would do it about cameras
because I'm really passionate about
talking about cameras and you might
think oh well there's not gonna be that
many people who are interested in it
well now that's actually quite a lot of
people who are interested in the same
things that you are and all you need to
do is have that podcast out there
promote it a little bit like I said
before it's a really good idea to put
your podcast up on YouTube because
that's where a lot of people are
searching for the great thing is with
podcasts is that you can really you know
build up this kind of micro community or
this really niche community and sponsors
are really into kind of getting their
message out to those communities another
way in which you can make money through
a podcast is by selling things like
merchandise which you can do really
easily on places like teespring or
printful so essentially you know you
could have your podcast logo or like a
really famous kind of phrase or
something like that that you want to
that you that you talked about in your
podcast and that's a way in which you
can make some more money
so another business you can do from home
is to offer video coaching so this would
often be done through either zoom which
is a you know a platform that you can
use which offers really easy kind of
video calls or you could even just use
Skype and essentially what you're gonna
be doing is teaching people about
something that you're skilled in now you
might be saying well I'm not really sure
what I'm skilled in I'm sure there's
something that you can find that you
have kind of a talent for that other
people are searching for so for example
again what I could possibly do is teach
people how to you know start a YouTube
channel
and give them as many kind of tips and
tricks that I've learned over the years
and then charge a fee and what can be
really good with this is that it's
generally going to be kind of a
recurring kind of consultation fee so
for example I actually do some coaching
I don't do the coaching myself but I pay
someone to give me some coaching and we
speak every two weeks and from there you
know you pay a certain fee and maybe you
do like a six month package or something
like that where you're going to be
speaking every two weeks maybe for 30
minutes maybe for an hour but what is
great with it is that all you need to do
is jump on your computer maybe have a
you know a good microphone or something
and the webcam and then you can just
talk to them give them their your tips
and it's a really good way of having
that kind of recurring income coming in
where all you need to do is jump in your
computer another business that I
recommend that you can start from home
is to start a YouTube channel even if
it's gonna be a small YouTube channel
you can really make a good amount of
money with the YouTube channel if you
know the right ways to monetize it now a
lot of people will think the only way
you can make money on YouTube is to run
Google ads or Adsense and to be fair you
can actually make a decent amount of
money with Google ads but if you think
about multiple ways in which you can
make money through YouTube there are
actually a lot of income streams that
you can set up so for example I always
like to talk about affiliate marketing
with your YouTube channel so essentially
what affiliate marketing is is
recommending you know if someone else's
product or or multiple products and if
they end up watching your video and then
clicking the link and then buying it
you'll get a commission so for example
Amazon have a program like this where if
you know you recommend say a Playstation
or a microphone or something like that
Amazon will give you a four to eight
percent commission on anything that's
purchased so that's definitely one of
the ways in which you can make money
through a youtube channel you can also
do brand deals like we're talking about
with the podcast but it's probably a
little bit easier to get these brand
deals through YouTube because brands are
always looking to promote their products
so for example again I have a couple of
sponsorships
one of them's through Skillshare which
is an online course I've got one through
Nord VPN Squarespace and sponsored me as
well and it's actually not that
difficult again even if you've got a
smaller channel because
it's these kind of micro niches which
they're all looking out for you can also
sell your own merchandise on YouTube you
can start a patreon which is essentially
kind of like a crowdfunding monthly
subscription where people will pay to
either you know access some special
things that you can offer them or maybe
a weekly vlog or some sort of discounted
merch or something like that or even
like a Google hangout there are so many
ways in which you can make money through
YouTube especially if you can build a
really nice solid little community
because that is the best way to get
these loyal followers who will happily
buy your products now another business
that you could do from home this year is
to do social media management so
essentially what you would do is manage
people's social media by posting posts
replying to comments things like that
and the reason why this is good is that
there are a lot of people out there who
know that they need to be on social
media there might be a little bit older
or not as savvy or not as tech savvy and
essentially they know that they need to
be on Instagram and Facebook and things
like that but they don't really know how
to post or they might not have time to
be at a post as often as they need to so
if you're kind of useful with Instagram
or Facebook or even YouTube as well and
Twitter and you have a little bit of
free time at home and you've got access
to maybe you know computer or your phone
you can actually post their social media
posts and things like that and make a
decent amount of money now people will
actually pay a fair bit of money for
social media management because they're
going to make money in return from you
posting all of these things on their
social media so essentially the skills
that you would need for this is maybe a
little bit of graphic design knowledge
or you need to know how to either maybe
work in Photoshop or like a free
software like canva calm and then you
would be able to like rearrange and
arrange photos and things like that and
you obviously need to know how to
interact on Instagram and YouTube and
Facebook and stuff like that but most
people these days definitely know how to
and one of the best businesses that I
think you can do from home is to be a
virtual assistant because being a
virtual assistant like my little puppy
here is actually a fantastic business
and essentially what you would do is you
would log onto a website like upwork.com
and from there you can help people out
from your own
so for example I have a virtual
assistant who works in the Philippines
and essentially what she does is helps
me out with my emails I helps me out
with my calendar helps me out posting
YouTube and again Instagram photos and
things like that and she does it even
all the way from Philippines and does it
at home now from here you can make a
fair bit of money you can actually make
you know ten dollars an hour fifteen
dollars an hour all the way up to like
fifty dollars an hour if you're a really
experienced virtual assistant and if you
know a little bit about maybe accounting
or using QuickBooks and things like that
you can definitely make a good amount of
money so there you go guys there were
some online businesses that you can do
from home hopefully one of these will
work for you and you'll be able to step
making money from home and maybe start
having a little bit more freedom with
your financial life as well that's it
