hi I'm miles Beckler and in this video

we're gonna cover competition research

we're gonna look at not only the

benefits of competition research but

we're also gonna go into how to do

competition research you're gonna watch

over my shoulder here on my computer

screen as I do some basic competition

research so the first thing to know

about competition research is you really

do want to find competition the goal is

not to find a niche that has no

competition because that means that no

one's really making money in that niche

and at this kind of level of maturity in

the kind of broader scheme of the

internet right now

marketers are marketing I mean the most

interesting niches and they're getting

really deep so if there's no competition

it means one of two things either a

really smart marketers who go after

different niches have not been able to

make money in that niche or no one's

ever thought about that niche before and

you might think well great I have an

idea that no one's ever thought about

before but that's actually gonna be a

bad thing for you because what you want

to see is a niche that has money in it

and there's plenty of room at the top of

Google there's plenty of room on

Facebook for another marketer to get

into that niche and to carve out a full

time income so what we're looking for is

a niche that has kind of a precedent a

niche that already shows very clearly

that there's money to be made in the

niche and those are the niches we want

to enter it's also at this point you can

start to look for affiliate offers a

couple of the tools we use it allows you

to look in to see if hey am I able to

promote these offers to my audience so

you kind of are able to water to plants

with one pail if you will so let's go

ahead and jump in I'm gonna go ahead and

move myself out of the screen and the

first place we start is right here at

Google so I've been talking about the

golf niche a bunch so what I'm gonna

look for right now is I'm gonna go kind

of deeper into this idea of the niche

that I've had and I've used and so I'm

gonna start with eliminates slice from

golf from golf swings so it's already

pulling up as an auto population which

is really good

non searching this and what I'm looking

for is I'm looking for paid

advertisements on the top or the bottom

and here I don't actually see any paid

ads you would see them right above so

let's

go to golf clubs so you'll notice right

here it has the green box that says add

green box that says add so there's four

ads and you have these sponsored links

over here on the right there's another

like seven eight of them there then you

go down to the bottom and you see three

more ads here so this means people are

paying to be in these locations and the

odds are that they're actually getting a

return on that investment or else they

wouldn't generally be investing in these

ad spots

now we don't want to go after golf clubs

in if you've watched the the niche

selection I just kind of randomly

arbitrarily chose golf something to dig

into that's why I'm kind of hanging

along on that niche so let's say how to

drive a golf ball no not yet so there we

go okay so interesting so now we do have

one ad showing up right here golf swing

tips hit a golf ball straight every time

so I'm just gonna take a quick glance at

what this is but that's what we want to

see we actually want to see oh that's

hilarious I've got my adblock on let's

turn this off and how about that and

this video auto played so essentially

what we're at here is I mean this is

this is pretty much a sales page like

right away and you can see this is

actually an opt-in page first name email

address and it just goes through in free

video series and I guarantee they're

gonna be selling you something at the

end ultimately this is the kind of thing

that you would be creating if you were

interested entering this niche the odds

of this person making money off of this

page are quite high I would say based on

the niche research and the demographics

that we've looked at and they have the

money and now that they're buying

advertising the odds are they're doing

that for a reason so so hit

fall straight instantly that same ad

pops up here and at the bottom let's see

if we've got any more no more so what

else we get down here is what I'm gonna

do is I'm gonna go search golf swing and

the reason I'm kind of struggling a

little bit here is because I'm not

honestly that in tune with this niche I

don't know their jargon I haven't done

the niche research that we talked about

I'm still kind of winging it so it took

me a couple of minutes extra but here

you're noticing boom we got three ads

this Munroe oh the mo Norman golf that's

the same when I clicked on it's shown up

every time there's been an ad odds are

this is working really well I would

personally take this down as a note if I

was going in this niche and I would

study and analyze what they're doing I

would watch their sales video I would

opt in and see what they're giving

people because the odds are this is

working for them and you want to model

what's working for other people and

you'll notice we have a couple of other

ads showing up at this point so this is

we're really I feel like we're getting

closer to the money

if you will on golf swing so what you

can see below is there's different types

of things golf swing tips golf grip golf

backswing golf swing playing golf swing

driver so you can click through on these

and look at these kinds of things as

well and if you notice on on the driver

we get a different set of ads so what

what this is kind of showing me in this

specific niche is that there's not only

money in this golf swing right because

that was my search phrase there's not

only money in the golf swing but there's

all of these additional things that I

could create content on or these could

be different pieces of content whether

it's a video a blog post or podcasts

whatever that would drive people into my

funnel my marketing funnel that we're

gonna create in the future so I'm gonna

move on to a different niche here and

let's do the other one I kind of have

been covering a little bit just

haphazardly from the research in the

previous videos has been the diabetes

diet natural diabetes cures is what I'm

gonna look at here instantly this is

what I want to see so one two three four

ads up top and

at least eight ads on the right-hand

side plus three ads down here so that's

a total of 14 ads on the first page and

to put that in perspective there's only

ten organic results on the first page so

there's almost 50% more ads than organic

results this tells me there's a lot of

money in this niche like it this is

people are buying and the fact that

there's this many different marketers

marketing everything from over here you

can see books to supplements that means

they buy information and they buy

physical products so there's multiple

directions you can go within this niche

this is a really good sign so the other

thing we found in the niche research was

the ketogenic diet I'm gonna go with

what popped up instantly

is ketogenic diet cures diabetes and I'm

going with this because this was a

Google Suggest but honestly it could be

suggesting it based on my past search

history I don't see any ads here so I'm

gonna go ahead and cut it down deeper to

ketogenic diet and we notice there's one

ad at the bottom so the odds are that

there's not as much money in this niche

but what I would wonder is how is this

trending versus diabetes cure so we go

to another tool called Google Trends

right and it's just google.com forward

slash Trends and this will tell us all

the trending of all of the current

search words that are there getting the

highest trending anywhere and what I'm

gonna look for is ketogenic diet so I'm

gonna take that same search phrase we

search for a moment ago and I'm gonna

look at it here and just as I mentioned

it's it's really booming and you could

see right here starting about the New

Year December to January it just jumped

and it's been really up in a very high

operating range compared to the past so

now I'm gonna compare that to your

diabetes sorry for randomly talking

about that or saying that when I was

typing so now you can see right here red

is cure diabetes

Blue is ketogenic diet so when we search

for cure diabetes there was a lot of

advertising going on but there's not any

more searches going on now than there

were a few years ago right this is

January of 2004 all the way up to today

kind of behind my head on the video so

you noticed as I said this ketogenic

thing is hot so at this point the

competition research really does show

that there's money in this niche and I'm

really intrigued with how big of a gap

there is and how much more interest

there is from the trend on Google

searches for the ketogenic diet so this

would get me to want to lean towards

ketogenic diet now this is really a very

basic way to use the Google tool I'm

gonna do show you one other thing that

you can do so what I do is I'll just

type in ketogenic which is the very

first phrase and you'll notice here it

gives me a few extra options so I'm

gonna look at ketogenic diet recipes and

again there's one ad here so what this

tells me which is really interesting

actually it's kind of a very good sign

in its own way is that people are

searching for ketogenic ideas and it's

not yet totally over marketed yet so

when we do ketogenic meal plan we now

have two ads at the bottom so what this

shows me is there is indeed a niche here

right there's people who are searching

for it on a very regular basis that the

trend of this is going way up right now

and also there's people who are paying

for advertising in this niche for

different aspects of the niche so you

could sell everything from meal plans to

diets to kind of everything that we've

looked at and there's ways to get more

ideas of keywords and that's gonna be a

different video do a long video on the

keyword research tool I've been I've

been kind of had a mastery of keyword

research for about 7 8 9 years it's

something I've done professionally at

this point so what we've seen here is

that there is indeed room in these

niches now I'm not saying go into these

niches right if you don't know

what nature and go back to the niche

video watch that first but what we

wanted to see here and what we found is

these advertisements showing up

that means there's money in the niche

people are buying in the niche right so

the next one we're gonna go to and this

doesn't work for all niches but it's an

interesting one to look at and that's

you to me or you to me I don't really

know how to say it I don't really care

it doesn't really matter for me and

honestly we want to go to ford slash

courses i don't know where the

navigation item is to click but it's

udemy.com / courses now these are if

you're not familiar with you to me it's

essentially kind of like an online

learning center you can qualify to

become udemy teacher and you could

create a course and you can sell it on

udemy I have a friend who's sold 1520

thousand courses through you to me now I

don't necessarily recommend using you to

me to manage your course what we're

looking for here is if there's any

relevant courses being sold on you to me

that match up with our kind of overlaps

with our niche so I don't know if

there's anything in golf but maybe it

seems like there actually might be here

perfect so when I just searched golf

we're looking at doesn't say how many

showed up but there's quite a few here

so this tells me people are selling

content on udemy about golf this is

fantastic so this is what I wanted to

see this means there's money in the

niche so it's sorted by most relevant

I'm gonna sort by highest-rated to get

going and you'll notice right here get

the golf edge to golf excellence and

play golf like a pro what I would do is

I would study the most popular ones and

it doesn't look they have that many

ratings but I would study them I would

study their marketing material and this

gives you kind of an idea of what you

can create for your lead generation your

lead magnet and also for a course if you

want to create a course and what you get

to see which is really cool is here's

the full details this takes you kind of

their sales data and what their promise

is right so this is this is they're

essentially the promise of what you're

gonna learn in the course really good

information it helps

understand how sophisticated your

prospects are because these are the

marketing messages they've seen but this

is where I love researching on you to me

you get the actual content of their

courses here so section 1 you have to

learn what EFT is and how to apply it

lecture 1 lecture to lecture 3 lecture 4

so you can see it's kind of like module

lesson based creation here and you're

able to look at exactly what they're

teaching throughout this course which

allows you to understand what is working

in the niche and if you wanted to create

a course in this area you could use this

as a rough idea to start your course

content creation you wouldn't want to

copy this obviously like there's there's

no reason to do that you want to improve

upon it but it's good to understand what

your competitors are doing and this is a

really powerful option so golf shows up

there's a lot of options let's search

for diabetes cure I like the word cure

to me people who are searching for cure

are ready to invest in a solution so

right away I'm not seeing that much

directly relevant right it brought back

some options but it's kind of yoga

self-help for posture etc so let's go up

here and just trim it back a little bit

and here it is diabetes beat it with

alternative and natural remedies that's

fantastic to see that's so funny it

literally has a reverse diabetes

naturally with the ketogenic diet which

is what I've been noticing has kind of

been appearing so we can look into this

and we could say great this is a 200

course they're they're charging a high

dollar value for what I feel like this

course is I feel like most you dummy

courses are generally around fifty to

ninety five dollars but you get to see

their curriculum again so if you're

interested in this topic but you don't

know about it and maybe you have

diabetes or someone you love has

diabetes you could essentially do Google

searches on all of these topics and

understand the components without having

to buy this course it would take some

time researching and you literally have

an outline you could kind of replicate

and improve upon to make your own course

if you wanted this is

really powerful information to be able

to look into the courses that are

selling on a high-volume platform such

as udemy and understand not only if

they're there and what this what is

selling but what the components are this

is really really valuable data and

you'll want to look in I mean I would go

into every single course and I would

take notes on their promises and their

promise is essentially their sales copy

right the course description the full

details this is what she's promising

you'll get from the course what this

tells you is it it helps you learn how

sophisticated your product your

prospects are right so people are

currently who are searching for this

like Gulf solutions or ketogenic diet

for diabetes

they're searching actively and they're

reading these sales materials whether

they're buying or not that's the

question so by looking at the sales

material you understand what is being

promised to these people and you can go

ahead and create your sales pitch your

sales letter or your freebie letter to

be a modification of that to add

something unique on top of it that makes

you stand out as the best option to

choose because they're searching around

for somewhere to park their money to

learn this information and you could

make your system unique by adding some

sort of a mechanism that makes you stand

out so it could be reverse diabetes in

30 minutes a day and they could talk

about how to do meal prep for 30 minutes

a day and that could be your bit and

then people look at okay well I could I

could reverse diabetes naturally with

this diet that's great oh I could do

this in 30 minutes a day I'd prefer to

choose that one and that could be here

unique kind of angle on this so let's go

to the third place that I like to use to

research niches and that is

clickbank.com so Clickbank we touched on

this on the previous one and you want to

go to the affiliate marketplace so I

touched on Clickbank before and

essentially Clickbank is it's a network

it's an affiliate network where vendors

who sell products can sign up and

affiliates who promote products can sign

up and allows you as an affiliate the

ability to sell a vendor's product and

you

guys split the Commission and Clickbank

takes something like nine 10% in order

to manage that transaction so the cool

part about Clickbank is any product you

find here you can pretty much sell you

can get your own link for you can start

promoting it and when you sell it you'd

make fifty to seventy-five percent so

let's find products based on golf I'm

starting right up here with the search

engine and I'm gonna let their search

engine kind of give me the options so it

shows there's a hundred and fourteen

items that come back for golf we're

right now sorted by keyword relevance

there's something called gravity in

inside of Clickbank and gravity is

essentially how many other affiliates

are currently selling this product a

high gravity is what you want to look

for I like to start with about twenty to

thirty as the lower end of the gravity

that I'll go with unless it's a very

small niche I'll go down to five or ten

but the more the higher the gravity

number is which we can see right here G

rav and it's under every one we're able

to look into this so there's about 157

people affiliates like you who have sold

this product and made a commission which

is about forty two dollars in the last I

think it's 30 or 60 days I don't exactly

know the metric but that's kind of the

rough of it so what I'm noticing though

when I search by gravity on golf it this

is not actually relevant right this

battery reconditioning nothing to do

with golf kidney DS disease solution

nothing to do with golf so we need to

kind of play with this a little bit I

went back to keyword relevance to see

golf

now here you noticing gravity 0 initial

sale 0 so those aren't selling so that's

not a great sign golf betting system

that's not what we're looking for in

this golf swing zero gravity 0 and as

I'm scrolling I'm just looking in this

gravity spot right here 0.15 that's

pretty low I'm not really seeing

anything that excites me here at this

point so here we go here's one gravity

of six point six seven and initial

dollar for sale is twenty eight dollars

so this is a product you can promote you

would get seventy five percent

Commission's and it looks like there's

about six or seven other people who are

currently promoting this product now

it's okay that the search didn't work

wonderfully here we can go on the left

side and I'm gonna look and see about

what category so over here these are the

categories and we've got sports let's

see we're gonna drop that down there we

go so you click the little arrow and it

drops it down and then there's a golf

category so this is definitely where I

should have started and instantly we're

looking at the stress free golf swing

$32 average sale gravity of twelve so

they're saying this is sort of by

popularity and that's the most popular

and I believe popularity does kind of

base off the gravity mostly so these are

proving right here this is what we've

wanted to see twelve gravity four point

eight gravity six point seven seven

gravities so there's there's people

selling these things they're making

conversions on them and people are

making money so every time you promote

this and sold one you can make thirty

forty thirty dollars every time and

there's a lot of products here you can

kind of dig deep and you can look for

unique ones that that match your

specific take on golf so this is a great

way to kind of not just reinforce that

there's a market here but now you're

finding products you can actually sell

and we'll get into that we'll get into

kind of like structuring your first

affiliate offer how to do it how to

choose an affiliate program but for

right now we're just trying to verify

that there are affiliate programs

available so the next one is we're gonna

go to diabetes and it looks like right

away just from a search you definitely

have diabetes this is like it's in

French so if you spoke French and you

wanted to go to the French market that's

pretty amazing reverse type 2 diabetes

how to improve diabetic kidney disease

interesting take so this is a if you

notice so this is not just how to

improve your diabetes but it's diabetic

kidney disease which is even a deeper

sub niche if that's what you're trying

to do but it proves that niching down is

really kind of

what to do so now what we can do here as

well as you notice the category

underneath its health and fitness

remedies so I'm gonna go down and I'm

gonna find the health and fitness Wow

right there in the middle sorry for the

long delay and we need remedies because

that's been the the basic idea of the

niche that we've been looking at is how

to cure diabetes naturally so right on

the very top the big diabetes lie real

doctor approved diabetes offer gravity

of 210 this is absolutely massive right

so in in like the overall Clickbank

scale when you start to see things over

a hundred and 200 that is just proof

that this converts really really well

and that is good for you as an affiliate

because when you present offers you want

to make sure they convert because that's

how you ultimately make money and every

time this thing converts you would make

thirty five roughly thirty five dollars

so we scroll down a little more

diabetes destroyer 220 pure natural

healing this it doesn't say diabetes so

what you would look at is you would look

deeper into their sales coffee and their

sales material to see if that's relevant

to diabetes but already I don't need to

go any deeper because already I'm able

to see from those top ones that the

diabetes are literally dominating the

entire remedies I don't have a keyword

search in here right now so what I'm

going to do is I'm going to search the

current category for diabetes and now

I've filtered for only the ones that

have diabetes in the name or in the

description so we're seeing all the same

ones and then it just it keeps going so

the newest diabetes offer sometimes it's

best to be one of the first affiliates

on a new offer and there's 18 people

already making about $60 a sale every

time they make sales so this just proves

it right here this is a really really

strong proof that this would be a very

good niche to go into and it allows you

kind of the free to

to trust that if you enter this niche

you would be able to ultimately make

money on this so that really wraps it up

for this video and at this point let's

cover what we let's look at what we

covered because I covered a lot here so

up until this video you have selected

your niche and you've drilled down on

who your audience is for the niche and

now we're wanting to verify that there's

other marketers and other people making

money in this niche now we used three

tools for this mainly there was the

Google tool we're just searching google

search to find out if there's paid ads

the theory behind that is if someone's

paying for advertising the odds are that

they're making money in that niche the

second option we went through was udemy

or Oda me

udemy com4 / courses and what this shows

is this really shows kind of from

another learning platform that's

different from Clickbank a little bit

more modernized it's much newer but they

don't have the volume they don't have

haven't transacted as much business as

Clickbank has we've shown that people

are selling these courses on these

topics there as well then third we went

over to Clickbank calm and we looked at

Clickbank and we were able to see that

indeed there's a lot of offers available

for us on Clickbank and there's a lot of

people selling those offers on Clickbank

which means there's people making money

in the niche which means you could make

money in that niche as well now again I

don't intend for you to follow the niche

that I have kind of like randomly chosen

half the total happen chance that I've

chosen these I'm sticking with them to

have some sort of continuity behind what

I'm doing and I'm doing all of this

research blind I've never looked at

these niches before and I'm gonna kind

of carry along with this idea because I

think it's good to show that sometimes

things don't show up as expected and we

need to look around and do some

different types of searching look at the

Google Trends tool to see what's

actually growing right now in in kind of

mass consciousness and ultimately once

you get to this point we know and by

this point I mean this point in all of

the videos I've been putting out you

know that there is a viable niche here

you know who your audience is and you

know there's money in it for you and

this is really the fun part because

we're about

to transition from research into

actually doing the work we're gonna get

our hands dirty wearing it dirt under

our fingernails and we're gonna start

making some money very soon so again my
