so how do you build a long-term lasting
and sustainable income stream so that
travel the world and live whatever kind
of lifestyle that you want
my name's Stefan James and I'm coming to
you guys right now from Athens Greece
right here behind me is the Parthenon
I'm on top of the Acropolis and check
out this amazing view right here of
Athens now when I first built in my
online business what I did was I built
it all around one platform one source of
traffic and one stream of income and the
problem was is that did not last I was
able to make money doing that but it did
not last it did not provide a consistent
reliable and secure source of income
which is what we all need if you want to
be able to quit your job and this is one
of the biggest mistakes that I see a lot
of people make they're building what is
called a one-legged stool now the
problem with a one-legged stool is that
you can make money doing that but how
long does it last
who knows because if you're building it
based on Amazon or Facebook or Google or
one source of traffic or one method or
one technique or one gimmick one
loophole one strategy whatever might be
there's a huge problem with that you
have a single point of failure in your
business where if a change occurs that's
outside of your control and Amazon all
of a sudden decides to change their
algorithm or they decide to change
something in their platform or Facebook
decides to change or Google decides to
change something that's a hundred
percent outside of your control and so
in a moment these changes that can occur
can affect your entire business and wipe
it out so it's like when you have a
one-legged stool it can you know maybe
balance to sell for so long but it you
know what happens if there's a disaster
that strikes if there's a gust of wind
that comes by and knocks it over then
your entire source of income collapses
just like a house of cards
now instead what you want to do is you
want to build what is called a Parthenon
okay that's why I'm right here outside
the Parthenon here in Athens Greece a
Parthenon as you can
can tell from here behind me has
multiple pillars so what happens is you
remove one pillar and the structure
still remains and this is how you have
to think when you're building not just
an online business but any source of
income in your life listen if you've got
a job and that's your only source of
income well that's also called a
one-legged stool because what's gonna
happen when there's a recession what's
gonna happen if your company decides
that they're gonna downgrade or they're
gonna outsource to you know to
technology or overseas or maybe robots
are going to take over eventually a lot
of positions and all of a sudden you're
going to be out of a job your entire
fate is so dependent on one person one
factor there's a single point of failure
so instead by building a Parthenon you
have multiple streams of income multiple
if you have a business multiple sources
of traffic in that business so that it's
secure one pillar can go away two
pillars three pillars can go away and
the structure will still remain okay
you'll still continue to be provided for
and still have that income that's how
you have to think and that's really how
you have to set up your financial
situation if you want financial freedom
so the multiple pillars if you're
building an online business it could be
Amazon great that's one pillar but also
maybe another pillar is also you know
building your own website and getting
traffic to your own website or maybe
it's also having Shopify store or maybe
it's also getting traffic from people
from Facebook or Google or Twitter or
Instagram or all the different platforms
that are out there you want to utilize
that and so if one something happens to
one you still remain to make money and
get sales from that same thing you know
with the money that you're making you
want to invest it in different vehicles
different pillars that could be
investing in real estate or stocks or
crypto currency bonds different asset
classes so that if something happens
okay if there's a recession and maybe it
affects the real estate market well you
know you're diversified now so that that
way you
still got stocks you still got bonds you
protected yourself in a much better way
so this is a great metaphor it's a great
way of looking at how you structure your
income in your life by building a
Parthenon that's why you know I'm here
right now and I love this as an example
because once I got this everything
changed for me because when I first
started making money online the big
mistake that I made was I just depended
on one or maybe two things and I had a
one-legged stool it did not last as
always kind of like a roller coaster up
and down up and down up and down where I
made some money and then I had to like
recover from something that happen and
changed and now the way that I built my
business is is based on this Parthenon
mindset and strategy so hopefully this
can help you guys and change your
thinking it's always best to do when
you're first starting is start with one
or two okay but simultaneously start
building others all these other pillars
as you can probably imagine it takes
time to build up these pillars but you
want to start with 1 or 2 you can start
making money with that but once you do
you've got to start building those other
pillars as soon as you possibly can
because that's the only way that you're
gonna build a lasting secure income so
that you can quit your job and and have
that peace of mind and not have to worry
about whether or not something's gonna
collapse or a change is going to occur
