hey miles here miles Becker calm and
this is video installment number five in
the do-it-yourself sales funnel video
series where we're building together a
clickfunnels alternative that costs
literally 10x less you can build this
out for three to five hundred dollars
whereas clickfunnels can cost you
upwards or over three thousand six
hundred dollars per year and you
actually have more functionality on this
system we're building so up at two up
until this point in the first four
videos you have built out your entire
funnel we started with an affiliate
funnel we added a shopping cart together
and we've expanded that out to where we
have our actual paid product offering
now what we're doing is we're going to
go into testing and we're going to test
important for you to test before you
launch your product before you launch
your funnel you need to make sure that
every step of this process is working
you're going to want to use your real
email addresses in the process to check
that you do get the right access
information then you test the log in
after to make sure you're able to log in
based on the username and password it
sends you etcetera I'm not going to do
every single one of those steps today
I'm going to show you how to get your
shopping cart system into test mode
we're using member mouse in this and
stripe I'm going to show you how to get
both of those into test mode we're going
to go ahead and run a test together and
then I'll show you how to get it out of
test mode back into live mode I also
recommend that you do a live test after
you've done a successful test mode test
I pull out my personal credit card I
actually buy as a customer from my own
system I go in and refund it after but I
just want to make sure when it's live
money and we're playing for reals before
I actually start spending money on
traffic that it actually does work why
do I do so much testing because I've run
a lot of traffic to pages that were
broken before and I've learned my lesson
the hard way so test your auto responder
on the front end make sure that works
I'm not doing that with you today test
your shopping cart big time that's what
we're doing today because that's the
important part and it's a little it's a
little tricky another thing you're going
to notice when I was working with the
keys inside of video 4 I had to have
this like yellow bubble saying hey also
get that key I'm going to show you that
here and obviously if you're not up to
this
might go back through the previous
videos in the description here I'll have
access to all of those videos for you so
let's jump onto my computer and get
started here you'll see I've got my
stripe dashboard open and I've got my
WordPress dashboard open what we want to
do is go into member mouse and we want
to go to payment settings first and
foremost now we're going to scroll down
here and you can see we have stripe
selected and here's what I didn't show
you and I had that little yellow box in
the previous video was I only put the
live secret key when you click the
enable stripe j/s which we want to do
notice there's two keys I only showed
you to put one and I put a note on how
to do the second one so this video we're
going to go through the process setting
up in test mode and then I'll go back to
live and you'll see more clearly how to
do that in this video so on this what we
want to do here is we click enable test
mode and now it gives you actual links
to what you need to do and it also if
you click here it gives you the test
card numbers for running tests so you
can use any what is the card security
the cv3 or whatever it is you can use
any numbers there and the expiration
date just needs to be in the future so
let's jump right in the next place I
need to go is into the dashboard here so
now my shopping cart is on test mode I
need to get stripe on test mode so over
here on the left do you notice it says
view test data the way stripe works is
you kind of get to operate stripe in in
two ways right you have your live mode
and your test mode and they're always
both there and you toggle this right
here in order to switch it over you
notice this turns orange and you see
that test data up here this means we're
in test mode you can see I've already
run one successful test transaction
today yes I go through the process of
what I'm going to teach you before I
teach you to make it as efficient as
possible that is always my goal of these
videos so once we have that set up we
need to click the API link and this is
going to allow us to access our keys you
notice we still have test data here you
can even see in your key it'll say test
I've got mine blurred out but this
revealed test key secret like this is
what I didn't do and show you how to do
so we need to do both so the first thing
I'm going to do is take this publishable
key and if you triple click to highlight
make sure it doesn't get an
just space at the end I just like
dragging the cursor personally so that
one was the publishable key and I'm
gonna put that in the publishable key
space and yes mine did already have
these these keys in here which is why
they're blurred out but I'm just showing
you how to do it when you click reveal
test key secret it's actually going to
prompt you if you don't have your if you
haven't logged in recently it's going to
prompt you for your login information
just log in again and it will show you
that string and then we copy that we go
back over to our payment settings this
goes into the secret section I pasted it
in there and now I scroll down and I
click Save payment methods and it's just
going to let me know that the payment
method was successful so I'm gonna click
OK and now I want to go into the product
so I hover over the M up here and I want
to go into product settings and now
we're ready to test right so we have our
cart and our checkout payment processor
in test mode so let's run a test we come
to our product this is the product we
set up in video 4 I'm going to click the
purchase links which will give me access
to the links I grab the static link and
as we talked about last time you need to
test in incognito mode or in a browser
that you're not logged in as
administrator if you're logged in as
administrator your shopping cart will
not work correctly so you cannot run a
successful test as if you were a real
user because your users are not
administrators so there's two ways to do
that you can click on another browser
and simply open Internet Explorer
Firefox Safari whatever or I prefer to
go in the browser I'm working in which
is Chrome I pretty much always work in
Chrome and I use an incognito window I'm
going to paste in the URL for checking
out for my product which is there and
it's going to load now I just put in
test information I'm just going to do
real quick test tests I recommend you
put your actual information in here
I'll tell you it's quick trick right
here so let's say if you have your name
at gmail comm right you're able to add a
plus test one here and what's going to
happen this is really cool kind of a
gmail hack for you as you begin doing
more development work this will still
email you at this
exact email address but your shopping
cart will pick this up as a fully
different user so you can go through and
do your name plus test one for your
first test if that's unsuccessful start
a new test that says test to start a new
test that's plus test three that way
when you get one working you know which
one worked and you can go look at the
users and you can kind of have
identifiable information about every
test that you have I would usually
personally I keep a spreadsheet open
when I'm doing that deep of testing and
I'll put the email I use and what the
result was the email I use and what the
result was
and I'll keep with that until I get it
working the way I want but for right now
on test user so user at my domain calm
is what I'm going to do password doesn't
matter phone number doesn't really
matter all this doesn't matter for the
test
check out the billing details so I'm
gonna go back over here and the credit
card numbers there was that place to get
it under the payment settings I know one
of them off to top my head for stripe
it's just sixteen it's four to four to
sixteen times or sixteen digits total so
there it is any security code will work
oh my goodness I click the wrong button
if I go back is that going to work sorry
about that give me one quick hot second
to fill this oh it actually remembered
some of this stuff cool and so once
again four okay and security code could
be any three digits expiration date just
needs to be in the future it doesn't
really matter any of them will work just
as long as it's in the future and
billing address I'm just going to put in
something fake I'll do one two three
main perfect now we're going to go up
and we're going to submit the order and
it's processing which is a good thing to
see and obviously my goal and
expectation and hope here is perfect so
it logged in it worked for us right this
is exactly what I wanted to see how it
works now you'll notice this Thank You
page is not what I would call beautiful
right it has my username it's got my
password that's hidden got my order
details I would all
so go into my email address that I use
and I would make sure that this email
address did in fact work this did send
so what this is why we test right your
users are going to see this and now we
know if you look in the URL this
question mark is all the identifying
stuff for the for the actual order
itself so this is kind of an encrypted
key information that doesn't really
matter what we're looking for is before
the question mark this confirmation this
is actually the page that we're looking
at so now I know I can go back in here
and I actually personally probably will
look great I went in and goofed my own
one up I believe so i'ma click on this
i'ma click edit page I just loaded that
in my browser I'm logged in as
administrator I'm going to open up the
page and I would then work with this
page and you can see it's got all these
like bracket areas these brackets what
these are is these are actually kind of
how the short codes work in the member
mouths system it tells you all the
information you can display you can
modify this you can customize it as you
choose and you can get in here to the
code if you really want to and whatnot
and that's where you would go ahead and
change that information I'm not really
going to do that today because I'm not
interested but if yours does look goofy
it won't because I goofed with this page
that's where you would go fix it
essentially is where you would go work
on the layout and all I would do is make
sure the enters I would just make sure
the line breaks work in between those
cool so I just ran a test and as you saw
I did have one test in there before but
now I'm going to come over here to my
dashboard I'm going to report repeat
that and you can see it shows two new
customers two successful payments right
there it already picked it up I didn't
even need to refresh it shows how much I
made today if I go into payments it's
going to show me the different payments
from the different kind of users that I
use you can see here I accidentally put
com twice so this email wouldn't get to
me and if I'm waiting on that email and
I'm like oh my gosh my test didn't work
right I go in here and look excuse me
and I can see that I got my email wrong
so that's user error on that situation
and that's why that didn't work and that
actually could have clogged up that
whole page and you can go into customers
and you can see the different customers
here as well and that's really it
like now we've run the successful test
and now what we would do as long as you
test it successfully here we want to
flip this back into live mode before we
bring humans through it right so I would
and recommend you going through the
process of not only flipping in a live
mode but I would highly recommend that
you run a test in live mode pull out
your credit card you could change the
price on the product if you want you
could drop it down to a dollar
ninety-nine or $2.99 whatever it is but
I would just I really I've made the
mistake of paying and running traffic to
pages that weren't able to check out too
many times to not actually do a live
test and I want to do the live test
after I've done these tests to make sure
it works in test mode so how do we do it
well we flip it back off here I just
clicked on that little toggle view test
data now I'm back in live mode and I
need to go into the API screen again and
it pulls up my two keys and then I go
back over here from product settings and
I want to go to payment settings this is
going to load the payment settings I'm
going to scroll down here and I'm going
to turn off test mode and then I leave
this enabled and I would expect these
weren't here if you did fill out both of
them correctly they're already going to
be there if you only did one like I did
in last video follow these next steps we
go here we're going to grab our
publishable key and we just copy that
key and go put it in place publishable
key is the lower one and then we reveal
our live secret key by clicking the
button and we copy that here go back
over put that in here and then save
payment methods and it's going to let me
know the payment methods are saved
successfully I click OK and at that
point I'm done at this point I'm ready
to go back into my funnel and run one
more transaction live use the test use
that trick with your gmail account to
put a plus right so this time I would do
my name plus live test at gmail.com that
way when you go look at your members
when you go looking at stripe when you
go look into your email account it's
going to keep all of your tests
separately so you can make sure that
that indeed the live test and you know
it's the live test email worked
correctly and if you're going through
the process it's good to have kind of a
spreadsheet or notepad open to where
you're tracking this is what I did a
test email with and this was the result
if it passed just put past and move on
if you have some sort of problem
keep a little notepad for yourself
because you got to go identify those
little things to get them fixed
obviously if you have any questions

you can look through their kind of
support documentation and run that live
test for yourself and on the next video
we're going to get in we're going to
expand out that funnel we're going to
add an upsell we're gonna add a
one-click upsell which is a huge way for
you to really grow your business in a
major way because it gets a little bit
more front-end revenue right and it also
increases your lifetime value of your
customer I'm going to show you exactly
how to set that up in video 6 I thank

testing is key it's so important you
don't want to pay traffic to an untested
funnel because you might just pour that
money down the drain
people might want to buy what you have
and they might not technically be able
to do so so let's make sure we're
getting through those technical hurdles
