Hey, everyone, this is Stefan from ProjectLifeMastery.com. Just hanging out by the
pool right now in Phuket, Thailand. I want to talk about a subject in today's
video that I think could really add value to your life because I see it as a block
and an obstacle that holds a lot of people back from having financial
success in their life. I bring this up because I've observed it, being in
I've also observed it in myself. This is actually a huge barrier that I had for many years
that was holding me back from financial success and it was ending up being a very
deep inner conflict in my life around some of the things that are necessary
and required to have financial success. Now, I have a question for you, and that
question is, and I want you answer honestly, do you have a problem with being sold to,
being marketed to, or being promoted to? I really want you think about that for a moment. Do you
have a problem being sold to, marketed to, or promoted to? When somebody is
offering a product, a service, they're trying to sell you something, they're
trying to influence you, or persuade you, do you have a problem with that?
Is there something that comes up within yourself when that happens, when
that occurs, and really think about different moments in your life. It could
have been, for example, you walk into a car dealership and you just
want to look at a car and you have a sales person that comes up to you and is
trying to sell you on that or it could be you go into an
electronics store and someone's trying to sell you something. In my case, I'm right
now in Phuket, Thailand and you walk down the street and you're getting
sold and promoted stuff to all the time.
Either it's a massage, either it's like a t-shirt. You walk into someone's store
and they're trying to sell their product to you. Maybe it's
online, the Internet. I offer products that I've created or
things that I have used and benefited from myself and I tend to be very passionate
about anything that's benefited me and so I want to naturally share that with
you and help other people and share products I've created and stuff. Does
that have some resistance that comes up within you when that
happens on my YouTube channel or me maybe promoting my K Money
Mastery Program or whatever it might be.
Maybe it's you go to a seminar and a lot of seminars there's always some sort
of up-sell that's occurring there. You go to a seminar whether it's free or paid
and in the business they're going to offer maybe another product, they're going to maybe
offer another event or a private retreat or whatever it might be. There's
a lot of occurrences in business and throughout our lives where we're being offered
different products and services and being promoted, marketed to, and sold to.
It's really important to really assess what comes up for you when that does occur. Do
you feel feel angry? Do you feel frustrated? Do you feel upset? What really is
going on with you? Because one thing I've learned many years ago is that if
you have a problem being sold to, marketed or promoted to, then you're
probably broke in your life and struggling financially. You probably will
continue to be for the remainder of your life.
I know that might sound harsh but the reason I bring that up and how I
heard this- I'll maybe share a story with you- but the reason is because in order to have success in
your life you need to be someone that can sell, someone that can promote, or
market in some way. Because every part of business or success requires promotion,
marketing, and selling in some way. Somehow persuading or influencing
someone for the greater good, to maybe enhance their life, to improve
themselves or their life or offering something that can enhance their life in
some way. The truth is nothing in this world changes unless something is
persuaded or sold. I don't really see selling as a bad thing. I see it as
influence. That's basically the way that the world works but you have to keep in
mind that promoting yourself is something that everybody has to do whether you're
single, you have to promote yourself and market and sell yourself. Whether it's in business
you have to sell, promote, or market your products, your services. If you're applying for a
job, you're going to have to promote or market or sell yourself to your employer to get
that job. Selling is something that is part of life.
Influence, persuading, and your association to that, your beliefs, are going
to determine the success that you have in your life and whether or not you have
an inner conflict that shows up. Now, let me share with you a story. I remember I
was struggling for many years of my life. I went to a free seminar called
The Millionaire Mind Intensive. You probably heard me speak about it before.
It's an event hosted by Peak Potentials. The founder of that was T. Harv Eker. He wrote a great book called The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind - it's a little bit windy here right now- great book, The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. I went to his free seminar,
The Millionaire Mind Intensive, it was free. The only way they can put on this seminar for
free is they have to sell stuff, right? They have to sell their products, their other
seminars that they would have. That's one thing that I guess a lot of
people don't recognize is that if you're going to receive something for free
from anyone- any business- they have to have a way to make money, right? Businesses
can't just keep giving away stuff for free and somehow support itself. It doesn't
work that way. Every business has to make a profit, has to earn money so that it can
reinvest into the business and be able to offer more free resources to their consumers,
as well. Anyway, I went to this free seminar and at this seminar they sell a
lot of different seminars and programs and they sell it pretty hard and and
somewhat aggressively. A lot of people have a problem with that. It's
really interesting to see the feeling of the room when this would happen because
a lot of people would get outraged. They'd get angry, they'd get upset, that they're
selling something to them and they would end up leaving the event. They would leave the
seminar and say, "This is just a sales pitch." They'd be all upset and negative and say
negative things about the seminar. Sure enough they would never
come back. The first time I went to the Millionaire Mind Intensive I actually had a
similar experience where I actually left. I didn't finish the first
time I went to the Millionaire Mind Intensive, which is a 3-day event. I didn't
get the max value from that event, unfortunately, because of that.
I was just so caught up in focusing on all the negative aspects of it. How
they were just selling stuff, and they had this agenda this whole time.
I felt misled and all this negativity would come up for me. I remember, at the time,
when I was there, the speaker said something which was really interesting, which
I kind of already said to you earlier in this video. He said, "If you have a problem
being sold to then you're probably struggling in your life financially and
you'll continue to struggle for the rest of your life."
A lot of people were outraged by that including myself I didn't believe that
whatsoever. I thought that was just another gimmick or something to sell me,
but afterwards I actually realized that he was right and that this was an
obstacle that was holding me back in my life and that was preventing me from
having success. The associations that I had to selling, to offering products,
to promoting myself in some way. I was always very shy and timid about that and I
didn't want to
ruffle any feathers. I didn't want to offend anyone. I didn't want to- I
just had a fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of what other people thought of me. It was a
serious thing that I realized that I needed to overcome.So I ended up
going back to that seminar. I've been back to Millionaire Mind Intensive several times and got an amazing
value and benefit from it after that experience. I came back and I said, "You
know what? I want to finish the event and finish it fully." What I learned is that when
somebody is selling something to you, promoting or marketing it, its actually
a really good thing because if your mindset is right and you have no
problems with it whatsoever then you realize and recognize that when someone
is selling, marketing or promoting themselves or something to you it's an
amazing opportunity for you to learn- for you to learn. Because that right there is
the main lesson and benefit you're going to get from going to these seminars. Seeing how
they sell. Seeing how psychology works. Seeing how people are persuaded or
influenced because if you want to be successful yourself you're gonna have to
do the same things. You're going to have to sell you're going to have to promote, you're going to
have to market. Show me a business or anyone that's successful that hasn't had to promote,
sell or market in some way. It doesn't happen.
That just doesn't exist. Looking at it as an opportunity to learn
and actually embracing it, actually liking it. Actually taking it on and saying, "Wow, this is
fascinating. What can I learn so that I can become more successful financially
as well." I remember for myself at the seminar, whenever I would
be sold to, I'm like, "Awesome, this is where the real value is. This is where the real
lessons are, right here. Because I'm going to sit here, I'm going to take notes, I'm going to be
fascinated how a person in front of a stage is able to influence an
entire room." That's leadership right there. To be able to influence, to be able to
persuade. To be able to help people change their lives and act. That's power right
there. To be a great leader you have to be able to influence other people to
act and to change their lives, to make- to do something in some way.
Hopefully I'm able to persuade you guys to make better choices in your life, to
take action, to make certain changes. I know I have because I've received many
emails and comments from people that, to have- and sometimes certain measures are
needed to get someone enough leverage to finally act. Sometimes some people don't
respond to just a soft and gentle approach to try to persuade people. Sometimes you
have to be more aggressive or say certain things that might erupt or
awakened something within someone that will finally get them to get the leverage,
be honest with themselves and finally take action and have that breakthrough.
There's different approaches to influencing and persuading and selling
and promoting and marketing that I think are all very effective and have value
The main core thing is whenever you are learning from
someone or receiving value from them in some way, you have to be clear in what their intention is. You have to make sure that this person has
the intention of serving you. I can say confidently within myself, everything that I
share with you, anything I might promote, market or sell or try to influence for
you
on my YouTube channel, my blog, my email list or anything, it's always focused on the
greater good.
Everything that I share are things that have benefited me in my life, that helped me
immensely. I can't even explain how much my life has changed and how much I have benefited
from many different resources, products, services, whatever it might be in my life.
Anything that helps me I tend to be extremely passionate about because it's made a
difference in my life. My life's become better, the quality of my life has been enhanced as
a result of that. I want to share that. I want to share my products with you.
I want to share anything that I create. Because if I create something, oh my God, I've got so much that goes
into it, you guys don't even know, the first of it, of what goes into
me creating a lot of the things I put out for you. The research, the time
that I spend, the money that I spent to create it. All because I want to help
other people and add value because my life was changed in someway as well, from
whatever it is that I'm sharing with you. Knowing the intention is
really key, it's very critical. Being open is a very critical thing as
well and so hopefully you kind of understand what I'm saying here in this video and
it helps you reframe and look at things in a different way. Anytime that
you're being sold, influenced, instead of having a wall come up and resistance, ask
yourself, "What can I learn?" This is fascinating. Be fascinated by it. Be curious. Try to learn and say,
"What's going on here? How are they able to persuade? How are they able to
sell or promote?" Just kind of observing and seeing how that
is
and then overcoming your barriers of having all those inner conflicts and beliefs that
caused those negative associations for yourself. Because I can guarantee if you
have a lot of issues with it then it's something that's holding you back in
your life as well. Just some food for thought for you and I wanted to bring that
up. Hopefully some of you see the value in this and can make that
shift yourself. I know I'm always- I mean you turn on the TV you're getting
commercials, advertisements. Again, you can either look at it in a negative way and
be angry about it and upset or you could say, "Wow, I'm really curious about
this. I want to learn a little bit more about their advertising, their marketing."
Critique it, give feedback on it. Maybe there's some value
and benefit in that. Try to learn from that as much as possible as we're always
being marketed and persuaded to. Like I said you've got to learn to embrace it. Take it on.
Enjoy it. I never get upset when moments like that occur. I'm
actually usually taking notes and paying attention and I find that my brain now- it's like, I'm
always, I can totally always look at things in a different way. Whenever I see
any advertisements or ad copy or signs or banners, I'm always thinking
about how it can be made better or better headline or better title or a
better way of phrasing things. One of my favorite things I do, actually-
I'll do this with my girlfriend or some friends, is we'll go to a restaurant or a business.
We were just at a dental office here in Phuket and just asking ourselves, "Okay, how could they market
this business better? How could they promote themselves better?
If this was my business what would I do to really market it?"
I find that I come up with so many ideas by thinking that way. I love to train my brain
to think more as a marketer and how to market ideas and strategies and things
like that, just with other people's businesses. That's kind of a little fun game
you can play with herself as well. Just try to come up with ideas on how
these businesses can market or promote or different discounts or sales or
whatever it might be that could be really effective as well. That's a little
marketing tips that I personally do a lot myself. That's it for this video,

good, my intentions are to add value, to serve and to help persuade other people to be a force for good themselves. Be able to promote, market and persuade people to
