share with you guys how to become the

online entrepreneur of the future what

does that look like what are the skills

and disciplines involved that you need

to have a base a base skillset of and

which are the ones you need to go deep

with and master so that you can succeed

at the highest possible level I want to

share two guys an important concept that

has really served and guided my online

business career over the last few years

when I really got and understood this

and still does to this day because I

want to be the best that I can be I want

to be the best online entrepreneur best

online marketer best online business I

could possibly have and I'm sure if

you're watching this right now

you want that as well and I wish I knew

this when I first started you know when

I first started I didn't re
ally know

what was involved and I didn't know the

best possible path of mastery to get to

the point of where I'm at today and if I

can help you guys out a little bit to

get there a little bit faster and sure

if you guys what I believe to be the

best path and just what's involved in

that to being the best you can be

especially for the future then that's

what I want to do in this video okay so

I'm gonna you know write out a few

things and kind of draw something here

for you guys in this video if you're

already more of an experienced

entrepreneur marketer I think this will

definitely hit home with you in a big

way because I made a common mistake when

I first started I think a lot of people

do which is you're kind of you know at

first you have to learn all these

different skills you know kind of write

up some of these skills because when

you're first starting a business you

know you don't have the luxury of having

money and hiring a team and outsourcing

and delegating and having specialists

that can you know do this and that for

you there's a lot of different pieces of

an online business and regardless of

what industry that you might be in

whether you're selling products on

Amazon doing affiliate marketing

publishing info products you know

coaching consultant whatever type of

business even in selling apps drop

shipping whatever it might be there's

there's a variety of skills there's a

variety of disciplines involved in that

and at first you have to have you have

to learn everything yourself

everything is brand new it can be

somewhat intimidating it could be a

little bit overwhelming too but at a

certain point you're doing yourself a

disservice if you don't identify what

you need to go deep with and master and

at first you might have to go abroad you

might have to go

wide butt being broad and wide long-term

is not the best option you gotta

identify okay what are the the one or

two skills I need to go deep and master

so that I can have that level of mastery

because you're not gonna be able to

master everything involved okay so let

me share with you guys something here

and hopefully this comes out well and

can help a lot of you guys so as I said

when you're first starting a business a

lot of different skills just marketing

alone can just remove you know from

business there's skills but marketing

alone has many different skills okay and

at first oftentimes you might start off

as like an online marketer and then that

kind of grows more international

business that consists of a lot a lot of

other pieces but just to give you guys

some example of different aspects that

make up my online business and typical

ones that you guys might be involved

with as well

so first any business you know you

obviously have to have a niche okay and

an important skill that you typically

have to have is just research you know

being able to to research and identify

profitable niches profitable you know

keywords you know how to rank things

that can also lead into you know SEO

search engine optimization being able to

rake successfully on Google it could

also be branding as a skill creating

funnels this is no no particular order

by any means product creation obviously

and this felt pen is dying we're gonna

switch address your analyte doing

product creation unless you're doing

affiliate marketing of course and

there's PPC there's content creation

there's social media marketing okay

those are just marketing skills but

really there's a lot more of this I mean

there's analytics you know there's all

you know optimization it's clues like

split testing a B tests you know email

marketing is a big one

list building copywriting

are you guys getting overwhelmed yet

these are just marketing skills I mean

an actual business there's accounting I

mean you've got to have a base

understanding of accounting and

bookkeeping you've got to know for

example you know how to manage the

finances of your business the cash flow

you're gonna have to track that and

maybe at first you don't have the money

to hire an accountant that's something

that might come a little bit later but I

you know I know for me that I had to

learn some basics of accounting and

taxes based on where I live you know

even legal having a base understanding

of that now when you first start and but

this there's a lot more so you know even

if you want to build a team and systems

and hiring and training and HR and PR

you know there's many different skills

involved a lot of people that are on the

outside they don't really understand it

till they're actually in the business

and you don't need to know everything

initially okay for me it take it took me

several years just to kind of have a

basic skill set of all these things

another important one is you can just

kind of basic tech skills you know like

maybe you gotta learn how to install

WordPress and plugins and themes and

kind of how that works and then you

might even have to have some basic

graphic skills what looks good you know

design elements and how colors go

together and logos packaging all these

different things now like I said you're

not gonna learn them all right away as

you start this journey hopefully you've

got a good course

training that kind of guides you so that

you can learn some of these skills over

time okay like a step by step so you

don't cuz out of all this you might be

like holy what do I even start with

you know what do I even start with what

do I need to do one of the most relevant

ones for me right now and which are ones

that I can probably learn later as I go

and that's what a big benefit of courses

and trainings can help you with but you

know for me when I first started my

journey I'll share that because maybe

some of you guys can relate to it when I

first started some of the the core

skills that I had learned was like Miche

research I was doing like a lot of SEO

at the time I didn't really know much

about branding kind of you know like a

little bit about funnels list building

email marketing I was horrible analytics

and optimization and still kind of am

you know product creation copywriting

and I did some PPC you know I had to

learn tech and graphics social media

wasn't really that big when I first

started you know content creation so all

these things that you know honestly

within probably two years I'd say of my

journey that I started to learn as I was

going you know I'd buy courses training

is just learning it's kind of pieced

everything together so that I could

build a business and all these skills

can kind of go together right and then

what happened was as I started making

more money and taxis and Kim then I had

to learn some accounting legal came a

little bit later too once I started hit

some traction it was like you know what

what you know how do it can I protect

myself how can I protect my business but

the reality is when I want to share with

you guys when you're first started there

are multiple skills you need to know and

you don't need to be a master at all of

them that's the good news

okay the bad news is you do have to have

a basic understanding of these things

the good news is you don't have to

master them all and that's just way too

overwhelming nobody that I know of can

do that and so when you're first

starting you know you're you're learning

a lot of these different skills you're

building your business you're kind of

playing you're wearing multiple hats

you're playing with all these different

positions on the field I mean if you've

got a soccer team you're playing you

know forward you're playing defense

you're playing midfield you're playing

goalie you're playing coach you're

playing general manager and you're also

the owner you know so you're doing a lot

and then what happens is as time goes on

as you make some money here's the the

important thing this is the important

transition you then have to make that a

lot of online entrepreneurs marketers

don't make and that's why they still

struggle or they're not they're not

getting the max results of what they can

get this is the big realization that I

had a few years ago out of everything

you're doing here okay you have the base

skills of these out of everything you're

doing what are the one or two skills or

disciplines that you need to go deep

with and master okay what are the one or

two that you got to go deep with and

master and ideally these are also skills

that are enjoyable for you you know

they're energizing they're gonna you

know give you energy you're gonna enjoy

doing it you have an interest in going

deeper with it for a passion excuse me

and there are the highest return skills

like highest ROI your highest income

producing skills okay

I call these one or two skills your

master skills okay in order to master

you have to have your master skills and

go deep deep deep with that and when

you're going deep with it then you need

to start to neglect and eliminate a lot

of these other things are doing that

aren't serving your master skill set

that is your job and that's what's gonna

allow you to be the best possible

entrepreneur and marker that you can be

okay is at first you're gonna go wide

okay you have to go wide at first

because also at first you might not even

know what are the top two skills that

you need to master so that's why it

first would go wide and you're gonna

have to learn a lot of these different

skills and sometimes it's just a base

understanding of these skills like don't

think you have to really master these

that much but you got to know some

basics of these things that make up your

online business and then once you have

some experience with that and again this

might be take you a few years to be

honest with you guys but once you

identify what that is then you go deep

with those ones

okay you you narrow your focus instead

of going wide and to give you an example

for myself I learned all these different

skills over now the last ten years of

being an online business and identified

for me the ones that I love and I enjoy

that filled me up that produced the

biggest impact and also to fill me the

most is content creation okay I love to

create content I love number one to

learn you know I'm a learning machine

I've been like that since I was 17 years

old I just love self-development

anything can impact my life I want to

learn I get fuel from that I get

energized I get excited about the

possibilities of what that can produce

for my life but I get even more excited

because I'm like wow this can not only

benefit me but I can also share this and

I can help and serve and benefit so many

other people in the world as well so

content creation I love creating videos

for example or doing interviews and

podcasts and just this alone requires

different skills might require writing

my speaking skills communication skills

and you know that for me I realized you

know doing videos and it's a lot of

things that I could do but this is

something I really enjoy it's a lot of

it's a lot of fun for me so content

creation and then the other one for me

has been coaching you know coaching

actually working with people and helping

them to succeed in their life succeed in

their business you know putting on some

events and having people you know come

over and and having that direct

communication with them and impact I I

were to add you know another thing to

would just be strategizing as well

because you could maybe call coaching

part of content creation but

strategizing I love strategizing my

visionary I look at the big picture of

things so for me these are my might my

two core skills that I've identified

that everything that I love the most

that I enjoy that I want to go deep with

that I want to master and then you're

creating here something that I learned

it's my attempt of a tea right here

something I learned from Brian Dolph er

Tim Brown oh I know I'm sure who exactly

came up with this concept but I you know

Ryan Deiss recently shared this at the

traffic and conversion summit in San

Diego who's the founder of digital

marketer and I learned this a while ago

but it really kind of I love just

hearing it from him I totally agree with

what he said it's called becoming what

they call a t-shaped marketer okay a

t-shaped marketer or I like to call a

t-shaped entrepreneur even you know a

t-shaped online business owner okay

meaning that the marketer of the future

the business owner of the future is now

more well rounded never before you have

to be well rounded okay you have to like

I said have at least a base a baseline

skill of everything here but then you

need to go deep and master at least two

master skills at least two master skills

and you got to identify what that is for

you and it is a journey don't expect to

know it right now you know you might be

able to identify now you know what I

really love writing you know copywriting

is a great skill now here's actually you

know this might benefit a lot of you

also because it can actually provide for

you if you can identify your master

skill early and it can change as time

goes on but ideally you want to identify

it and stick with it but the reason why

it can benefit you knowing it early is

that if you know early on that you want

to go really deep and master copywriting

let's say or maybe PPC pay-per-click

advertising or SEO and you want to go

deep with it then that can provide an

immediate source of income for you okay

in fact what I'd recommend is if you

know what your top you know master skill

is you want to go deep with and you go

deep you study it you learn it you buy

courses on it get training get mentors

you read books on it like I'm talking

you you go deep with it you become an

expert a master on that then you can use

that skill to produce money and income

in any way that you want really you

could do it in your own business but

also while you're building your online

business you can actually

get a job as a freelancer working for

other people other businesses you can

create your own service or agency just

doing that right like if I you know for

me if I went really deep with

copywriting well you know if I wanted to

quit my job and I wanted to replace that

income then I would go to a website like

upwork.com

or Elance comm and I would start posting

and you know bidding on jobs of people

looking for copywriters and I would

start off small and by working for other

people you're gonna also develop your

mastery of that skill of copywriting

you're gonna gain a lot of experience

doing that you're gonna get paid for it

and then as you get more skilled at that

and you master it deeper then you can

make a lot more money for it from it as

well you can raise your rates and make a

lot more money the same thing goes you

know with pay-per-click advertising or

SEO or maybe tech or graphic design or

accounting or whatever it might be and

then that becomes a valuable asset that

you can then utilize to help grow your

business that much faster so so

understanding it first you're gonna have

to go wide you got to go deep though

eventually if you can start early great

you know identify what your master

skills are gonna be and and then utilize

that so that you can make as much money

as possible from that and for me now I

outsource everything else you know

everything else I try to hire and train

people and find them I can I can still

have the basic knowledge of it if I need

to do it myself if I have to I still

kind of learn a little bit about those

things but I'm very careful with that

because I know for example learning a

lot more about PPC at this point in my

stage isn't gonna help me that much

because it's gonna take away from this

and I might try to go deeper with this

then try to master something new like

PPC like I know people see and I have

basic skill sets from it making money

but to really master it go deep with it

can take several years you know and I'm

not willing to waver

from these these core things because I

might rather go deeper with that that's

where the bigger returns are in my

business so understanding this for me it

was really important and I don't know

what stage you are right now in your biz

career but I think it's important to

know this ahead of time know that

big-picture know that ten-year plan

because the reality and the truth is and

it's not sexy to hear this it's not

really that marketable and that mastery

takes a long time to really master

something you know Malcolm Gladwell says

10,000 hours or on average about 10

years to give you guys an idea you know

doesn't mean you have to you know you

can't make money from it and tell ten

years of 10,000 hours you can make money

along the way but usually once you get

to 10,000 hours or something it's just

part of you you don't have to think

about it much it's just it's like this

in green talent and skill set that you

have that you have mastery up give you

guys an idea of that if you were to work

on your master skill 20 hours a week

then 20 hours a week that's what it

equals 10,000 hours or about 10 years or

if you were to do it 40 hours a week you

can get there in five years 40 hours a

week I'm just focusing on master skill

and mastering that you can master in

five years on average so that's kind of

how I think about it guys hopefully this

can help you guys a little bit you know

again this is something that was a

breakthrough for me that I had because I

was trying to do everything I'll sort of

master all these different skill sets

and I realized wait a minute I don't

need to master at all

I just going to identify what are the

one or two once that I want to really go

deep with and I enjoy it

at first you might not have that luxury

at first you might have to understand

it's kind of have a basics of a lot of

different skills and a lot of like I

said a lot of these things that will

take time anyways you know for me even

my I've improved all these other skills

over time like my graphics and branding

and SEO these are things that I still

like to learn and I improve my basic

understanding and skills enough because

I always go to conferences I I go to

masterminds I'm go to you know I got

different mentors and consultants that I

hire I go do trainings like my team

they're learning they're more specialist

on things than I am so I learned from

them they share things with me and I can

see what they're doing in my business

and how we're growing it so I'm still

learning those things but it's not

nearly as much as what I'm focusing on

here okay so hopefully this can benefit

some

you and this concept of being a t-shaped

entrepreneur or marketer becoming the

best possible marketer entrepreneur and

business owner that you can be in the

future but I'm gonna thank you guys so
