she sells on Amazon and on Shopify and
we've done many videos together which
I'll link to below if you haven't seen
them before sharing her journey sharing
how you know the video that we did that
went viral was how she is making 40,000
a month at 23 years old and we've done
others sharing how she went up to a
hundred thousand a month and even beyond
that now she's still kicking ass and
growing her business and we thought it'd
be great to share with you guys an
update on where she's at but also just
what's going on right now with the
coronavirus how that's been affected her
business because as we all know
coronavirus has been affecting everybody
a lot of people have been losing their
jobs a lot of small businesses have been
affected by it some ecommerce sellers
have been affected by it as well and we
thought it'd be useful just for you guys
to see Tatiana
her stats we're gonna share her stats on
her screen right here in this video on
are interested in starting a business
online maybe you're already building it
or maybe you're just exploring options
different opportunities right now in
Amazon or Shopify might be one of them
for you so hopefully this video can be
very educational for you guys and
Tatiana can share with you guys what's
been going on and where she's at so
let's dive in thanks for having me on
yes so yeah things are kind of crazy
right now with the coronavirus and 6.6
million people this week applied for
unemployment benefits in America and
over a million people in Canada so it's
it's tough and a lot of people have lost
their jobs so I feel very fortunate to
have an online business an e-commerce
store that is not necessarily as
directly affected by the coronavirus as
a lot of traditional stores and retail
stores so you know my business is still
running and sales are still you know
coming in and in fact the shocking thing
with my business is that sales have been
going up and I wasn't expecting that so
if you want to see here so this is
insider Shopify and you sell this is on
your website so the Shopify store allows
you to sell your own
website as well as on Amazon - yeah so
last month was March and in the month of
March we did just don't Shopify 161,000
so it's actually gone up since previous
months so if you look at this year alone
you're today it you'll see that sales
have just been increasing if I do a
monthly view so January was 1:28
February 1 51 and March 1 61 so we've
gotten a steady increase in April we are
only three days in and we're at 21,000
so who knows what April has to be has to
bring potentially the sales will drop
and I am anticipating that I am
expecting that because we all are going
to be affected by this but so far it has
not necessarily been the case for me I
also have my Amazon store here this is
my amazon.com store and so in the month
of March I did also here 23,000 and as
you can see here the same day a year ago
I did 32,000 and that's just because I
think I was just a bit more focused on
my Amazon store a year ago I've been
more focused on my Shopify store lately
so and this is not including you sell in
Europe so this is just amazon.com in the
US you saw in Canada and Europe and
Australia as well yeah got there as well
yeah awesome and so what's what's your
theory on that just you know month of
March was a really rough month for a lot
of people and I think we haven't
obviously seen the full effect right now
with the economy I think we're gonna go
into a recession it's gonna affect a lot
of people and if we go into a recession
and people don't have jobs they're not
gonna spend as much money and there
might be certain products they'll still
buy and I'm not sure if you're a product
fits in that category or not but what's
your theories for the month of March
because you know I would have thought
that that would be a lower month and for
you it's going up which is pretty crazy
yeah so I thought that if you you know
if you weren't selling a commodity type
of product that your sales would
decrease whether you are an e-commerce
seller
or not but that's not the case because I
have a luxury item my item is by no
means a necessity in the household and
so the fact that my sales have not only
have not only stayed the same but
they've actually increased is really
interesting and surprising thing so I
think it's just the nature of my product
my product is a product that people wear
you know are usually around the house in
the fact that we're all under quarantine
right now a lot of people are spending a
lot more time in the house and so they
want to buy my product and they want to
wear it at home and they're seeing it as
an opportunity for them to use that
product very often they have more time
you know if you have more time and you
can't do much you're gonna look like
what are your options you go to Netflix
you can go on the internet you know you
could you know try to improve your
health you can cook more there's certain
products I think more people might just
buy because they're bored and they have
more time to dedicate to it yeah yeah
and if things get really bad with the
economy I do anticipate a drop in sales
of course so I am preparing myself for
that and being proactive about things
you know I did do a couple sales in
March just to kind of boost boost up
enthusiasm and just some sales so I did
like a 15% off coupon code which is
usually something that I don't do I
usually only give 10% off coupon codes
and another sale that I did so just been
trying to keep things on yeah so what's
your profit margin as well I guess and
yeah so you know you have a high profit
you want to share it it is yeah and you
sell your product for $60 yeah yeah
right so with her product because it's a
higher and you didn't just to be clear
for those that are starting she never
started with this product it will give
some tips for those that are just
getting started with it but you have a
product that you have more flexibility
with and profit margin you can do more
with it because you you know you've got
you've been doing this for a while now
you're able to eventually pick a product
that has this potential and so every
product and category might be a bit
different but having that flexibility
with profit margins allows you to do
some sales and and still profit a lot
I would definitely say that if you can
pick a product that has the ability to
be sold at a higher ticket that's great
because then you again have that
flexibility that with time as you
improve the quality of your product you
improve your branding you can price it
at a premium price and this particular
product was initially selling on Amazon
for $23 so that was the price that I
initially sold it on Amazon for and now
it sells for $60 so that's a huge price
difference and all I've done over time
is I've improved the quality of the
product so with each order that I placed
with a manufacturer manufacturer I tried
to improve the quality of the product
based on customers feedback so I've got
a Facebook page and that's a wonderful
resource for me to get direct feedback
for my customers so it's not like they
buy from me and I never hear from them
again
as it usually is with Amazon if you can
create a brand for yourself whereas
people on social media can communicate
with you and they can share with you
what they love and what they hate about
the product that's going to help you to
be able to create a higher-quality
product and at the end of the day a
better customer experience and so I've
been really working on creating the best
possible customer experience that I can
and that helps differentiate me from all
the other brands and therefore you know
all of these sales by the way is these
are organic I don't spend any money on
advertising and so that's why I have a
60% profit margin because I don't have
advertising expenses so I think finding
a product I mean initially you know do
what you can with the resources that you
have if you have to get a really
inexpensive product that's totally fine
my first product was 20 cents a unit
because that's all I could afford but
with time you start to build more
confidence you have more savings and you
can find a product that has more
potential long-term yeah now what do you
see right now is the opportunity with
Amazon you know at this time starting on
Amazon getting started selling I know
online sales are surging Amazon is
surging but certain products that think
in certain categories are going to be
affected by this and it might not you
know people might not have as much
success as a time when they
is booming but just kind of what's your
thoughts just on the opportunity right
now well my thoughts are you know a lot
of people now because of these
quarantine initiatives we have to stay
inside and so a lot of people who were
resistant to online shopping are now
being forced to learn how to do online
shopping and a lot of people are signing
up for Amazon accounts and becoming
Amazon customers maybe for the first
time and so I think we're gonna see a
growth in that we're gonna see more
people open up Amazon accounts
subscribing to Amazon Prime and that
will become the new norm because once
people make their first purchase on
Amazon they'll realize how easy it is
you know you can get your groceries
delivered to you you can get Prime and
so I think people will stick to that and
I think we'll see a transition you know
we were already heading in that
direction as is you know that's life is
evolving and more people are heading
online but I think that the coronavirus
is escalating this because of these
quarantine measures another thing is
that because we're all inside I think
this is just a huge opportunity to be
leveraging this time time is so valuable
and we all wish we had more of it and
you know you can only buy yourself so
much time by outsourcing and delegating
things and you know from the people that
I've done coaching for for Amazon and
e-commerce
one of the biggest excuses in the book
is oh I didn't have enough time so it's
you know if they were creating a going
through the course modules or you know
whether it was launching their first
product I'm like why didn't you get this
done when you said you would I didn't
have enough time so now time is not an
excuse and now you guys and everyone at
home we all have this time and I think
that the best way we can use it is to
prepare ourselves to build a new income
stream for ourselves so that when this
happens again because it's probably
gonna happen again where there is gonna
be another economic collapse or you know
hopefully not but maybe a pandemic then
we can be prepared yeah no I totally
agree I think right now is one of the
best opportunities to leverage the
internet to build an online
business Amazon is benefitting massively
from all of what's going on right now
for the reasons that you just pointed
out but they're the one like I mean I
invest in stocks as you do as well and
Amazon it's holding pretty strong
compared to many others just because
people have no choice but to buy online
to shop online right now and yes I think
consumer spending will go down by Amazon
is positioning themselves if they had
other side of this when the economy goes
back to normal they're gonna be so much
stronger and bigger than ever before
because people's habits and behaviors
and ways of shopping are now gonna get
more tied to Amazon Amazon just today
had announced a partnership with Canada
the Government of Canada to help Canada
ship and deliver a lot of medical
supplies and a lot of items Amazon is
leveraging themself their brand they're
building their brand by helping
countries like Canada I think they're
gonna grow a lot internationally as well
because they have an infrastructure that
can benefit the whole economy ever you
know everyone with receiving items and
things of that nature so I think Amazon
is gonna benefit massively from this and
the way I look at it you're building a
business for the long term not for the
short term if you're looking to make
short term money you do not start on my
business because it doesn't exist you're
not gonna get rich quick you're not
gonna get you know rich within 30 days
60 days or 90 days it's gonna take time
to launch your product get it up and
running and and now is the time with
that long term horizon to position
yourself and build your business so that
when things do get better you're gonna
skyrocket and boom and benefit from all
this time that you're spending so right
now if you have time right now if you
have the motivation because your backs
against the wall you have no other
choice that's a good thing in my opinion
might for me my life changed when I had
my back against the wall I defined the
way to make the way I was desperate and
I had to take action and figure it out
and that's where I've had the biggest
growth in my life more than when I'm
comfortable and complacent is I think a
lot of people have been in the greatest
you know bull market in history and
everything was going up and doing well
and you got a comfortable job now when
you've lost your job you're on unsure
about your job now is the time if you
don't have motivation like now is the
time right
the time to go for it and and you got no
other option or there's you know less
risk involved in doing it because what
else are you gonna do so now is the time
to position yourself that when things
get better in the next three months six
months the next year you're gonna have a
business that will then prosper and
benefit and I think there's so many
things you can do right now learn more
right now get some courses watch the
videos read books study learn as much as
you can work on your website work on
your product work on your social media
all these things it can be doing right
now that long-term will benefit you if
you use this time wisely and you're not
wasting it by just watching Netflix or
random YouTube videos invest this time
and use it as an opportunity and I think
those that do are gonna come out of this
way further ahead than those that don't
so what what tips would you give to
someone that's looking to get started
maybe they're brand new they're like you
know what I want to get in the game and
get started what advice would you give
for someone that's just getting started
with this yeah I mean if you want to
build an Amazon business if you want to
build into start with you want to start
with Amazon or Shopify because I know
you showed Shopify well if ecommerce in
general so a lot of people ask me should
I start on Amazon or should I start on a
Shopify if you want to build an
e-commerce business my recommendation is
to start on Amazon and that's where I
started and that's where so many people
start and it's you get a huge benefit a
huge push when you start on Amazon
because Amazon is a search engine and so
just like when you go to Google and you
search something in a bunch of websites
and blog posts show up that's the same
thing on Amazon if someone types in your
brand name or a keyword that is related
to your brand then your listing might
show up versus on Shopify no such thing
exists so on Amazon for someone to find
your store all they have to do is type
in a keyword and your store might show
up and so it's easier for you to attract
a new customer versus on Shopify you
have to you have to really market
yourself you've got to do some ads
you've got to do a lot of things and yes
you still have to do that with Amazon
but not to the same extent with Shopify
so my best recommendation is to start
Amazon and then with time and you'll
know when you're ready for that when you
see a consistency with sales then you
can open up a Shopify store and start
selling there and kind of move your
customers to Shopify because on Shopify
you will see higher profit margins but
you need Amazon in the beginning I
needed Amazon you know I was a no-name
nobody would have purchased from me if
they didn't trust Amazon right they
trust Amazon and that's why they buy for
me so if you want to start I recommend
getting a course that's what I did
that's what Stephan did and you know you
guys can buy whatever course you want we
don't have to buy anything that we
recommend but I do recommend getting a
course and the reason being is because
the alternative to getting a course is
you just trying to research things on
Google or on YouTube and although there
is quality information out there you
don't always know if the sources are
reputable or you don't even really know
if those answers are true or correct and
you also have to be asking questions you
know you have to be asking the questions
to Google and as a new business as
someone who's never owned a business
before like you know when I started I
would have never thought to ask about
you know iin numbers and bar codes and
sales taxes and all of that stuff so
that's why when you get a course you are
able to get that step-by-step guidance
that you just feel so comfortable and
the pressure is off because you now know
if I just follow this step by step if I
just do the homework that they're giving
me then I will see the results that I
want to see and so that's what I did and
I think I just trusted the process yeah
it gives you certainty and confidence
going into this knowing that you've got
some proven that's worked for many other
people there's a lot of information
that's out there but it's very
challenging and kind of piece it all
together and and when you get a course
that kind of guides you and it's
teaching the same methodology it makes
it so much easier and faster and so much
simpler it's hard enough building a
business a course just makes it easier
and it's a shortened learning curve
essentially what it is so there's
something that we recommend Amy
and sell a machine would be the number
one that we recommend and you know we're
affiliates for that we provide bonuses
as well so full disclosure but well link
below to that if you want to learn more

the way as well and there's another
course to that I can recommend not as
good in my opinion as ASM but it's at a
cheaper price point called marketplace

the same way that's how I always learn I
never try to reinvent the wheel I'm
always looking for who is the person
that I can learn from they've already
spent the years had the failures and
success I can shortcut that I don't want
to spend the years I could but why would
go through that pain risk my money in
that way and go about it that way when I
could just get there easier further
faster not easier just through a great
proven process so I'll share that with
