share with you some of the mistakes that

I made when I first got into building an

online business when I first discovered

this world of internet marketing and

trying to figure out how to make money

online there's a lot of mistakes that I

made and there's a lot of things that

I've learned and failures that I had

that I've learned from that by hopefully

doing a video like this I can help you

avoid and I can help steer you down the

right path the right direction of

building a business the right way

building a business that you're proud of

building a business that you love and

you have a passion for building a

business is making an impact in this

world and yes also providing the income

and the lifestyle that you want and know

many of you that might be watching this

right now you might be at the beginning

stages where all of this is new it's

like you entered this new universe of

possibilities of building an online

business and making money online you

might be where I was 12 years ago when I

got into this where you're trying to

navigate the waters and you're trying to

find which opportunity is the right one

for you and if you're not careful and

you can go down the wrong path the dark

path as I did for a period when I got

into this because there's temptations

out there of ways you can make money and

even though you can make money doing

certain things out there online it

doesn't mean that it's ethical and in

high integrity and honest and you can

get sucked into that and I want to help

you avoid that but being on the other

side today twelve years later we're a

built project life mastery over the last

eight years I've learned I've grown and

matured I'm a much different and better

person today than I've ever been and I'm

making an impact in the world I believe

in a huge way and doing what I love and

living my purpose my mission in life and

so for me part of this is I want to

right or wrong and you know share and be

vulnerable about mistakes I made to help

you guys avoid those mistakes and

ultimately help you build a great

business and make a great impact in this

world now I got into this when I was 21

years old and it's about twelve twelve

years ago when I got into this my first

discovered internet marketing you can

make money online and at that stage of

my life I didn't have much money I was

broke from 21 to 23 there's a stage

where I was fifteen thousand dollars

credit-card debt and I was living on my

friend's couch which I was incredibly

embarrassed by and I was desperate I was

in a dark place in my life and I hated

myself and I hate in my life and I hated

other people I didn't you know when I

got into this I didn't care about doing

what I loved I didn't care about my

passions I didn't care about even

helping anyone I just wanted to get out

of pain you know and I was willing to do

anything to get out of pain and to

figure out ways that I could make money

and what happened was I got involved

with the wrong people

and learning from the wrong people

because there's many people out there

that can teach you how to make money and

ways that you can make money maybe

faster and easier than other ways but

doesn't mean that it's right and for me

I part of it when I look back the

desperation I think a lot of people

might be able to relate to being that

state because I do know a lot of people

they watch videos out there and they've

come across opportunities and they're in

a state of desperation and you think

that an online business is going to save

you and be the answer to it and that

stated desperation and also having the

mentality that I had at the time of just

trying to get rich quick that's a very

dangerous mentality to be in because

often when you are in that space you

might compromise your values in order to

make money but compromising what's right

compromising was ethical and honest and

that's what happened to me so I got

involved in a dark a dark side of this

business I did some things that were

unethical that were black hat and were

dishonest and thankfully it never lasted

and never I made some money but it never

created my success or wealth you know

often I was in the my instead of looking

for gimmicks and loopholes and tricks

and the short term tactics that can work

for the moment but they don't lead to

any sustainable or long-term success and

so thankfully a lot of what I was doing

then it did you know it didn't translate

to any success and it wasn't until I

really shifted my mindset when I when I

started project life mastery over eight

years ago the mindset of what I shifted

and how I grew was instead of trying

focus on making money my mindset is how

to serve how to give how to contribute

and realizing that money is the

byproduct of that and that was a ship

which is kind of counterintuitive but

when I stepped into that because I got

to a point of frustration as doing all

these things to try to manipulate and

ways to make money for example I

remember I was doing a lot of search

engine optimization back then and where

I built a bunch of blogs I was trying to

rank for certain keywords and the search

engines and Google and I was looking for

the black hat techniques you know

there's white hat strategies there's

kind of things that are kind of grey hat

and then there's the black hat and I was

kind of looking at the black hat stuff

because I wanted to shortcut the process

and I was doing some of that stuff and

when you do it you it works for a bit

you know I remember I you know was able

to get some traffic and make some sales

from that but sure enough you know the

search engines change the algorithms and

you get punished for it and you're

starting from scratch and that was just

the constant state that I was in when I

was in that mode is I was never building

anything sustainable it's never building

something that would actually allow me

to quit my job and live off of and grow

and and actually lead to wealth and

abundance and the only way you create

that that I learned is through

contribution money is just a byproduct

of finding people's needs and finding

ways to serve them and over-deliver for

them and that's how I built my brand

that's how I built project life mastery

which led to my life and who I am in the

success that I have today is shifting

from trying to take and get and just all

about me the selfish self-absorbed

mentality to one of stepping outside of

myself and creating something bigger

than myself and sincerely trying to care

and love and give and support other

people and by doing that it led to being

rewarded and building something great so

my warning for you is to avoid the path

of least resistance the path of

temptation that exists that still does

exist and to really get clear on who you

are their values I think you know part

of it for me can I I look back and I'm

embarrassed of that and not proud and I

regret it in some ways I look back and

I'm you know grateful in some ways

because I wouldn't be Who I am

and given what I've given today I today

you know I pride myself and what I've

given to this world not even with my

business but through philanthropy and

building schools and houses and the

volunteer trips that I've done in Kenya

and Ethiopia and Nicaragua and El

Salvador and things that I've shared

with you guys I don't know if I'd be in

this cut more conscious place today if I

didn't go through that and so some ways

I can relate and I think connect with

people that are suffering and in that

state today and because I've been

through that and made it past that and

I'm on the other side hopefully I can

help people avoid that because I get it

I get it you know there's definitely

those temptations that do exist but when

I look back of where I got lost it was

not having a sense of identity and

values that were important that I was

not willing not being willing to

compromise that no matter what no matter

how easier tempting it might be to make

money and I've done a lot of work on

myself you know over the last many years

and actually one thing that I did over a

number of years ago now with my business

project life mastery is I actually wrote

out and I'd love to share with you guys

in this video I wrote out my values I'm

I wrote out my values of what's

important to me and how I want to live

my life and operate my business and part

of the reason why I really got clear on

this too is that I wanted to hire people

and recruit people to join project life

mastery you know as I have I've got a

great team and staff that supports me

now but I wanted to attract people that

were in alignment with these values and

I think that's a really important piece

so I want to share with you some of

these values cuz I think this can really

help and support you guys getting clear

on this getting clear I got my computer

here it get clear on your values and

making sure that you don't compromise

those values that you're living an

authentic life that's in integrity with

what's important to you and what's right

and the good news is you know when I

look back and I you know today I help

other people build businesses and

whatnot it's not it's not necessary to

go down the path that I was because

there's many opportunities that exist

and what I try to teach and have over

the last eight years I'm ways to

building a business the right way around

or

passion of what you love and that's what

something is gonna be sustainable you

have to get out of that short-term

get-rich-quick mindset and step into a

long-term thinking of actually building

something the right way that's

sustainable and I think doing what I'm

gonna share if you hear it can really

help support you guys with that so I

have a Google Doc here this is actually

something that is internal with my

company I've never shared this before

just with my staff we actually do

quarterly meetings every three months

and every person on my team we go

through the values of the business we

have ten of them it's actually kind of a

bit more than that but we actually rein

ourselves on a scale scale from one to

ten how much we feel that we're living

that value right and we're not perfect

I'm not perfect by any means but it's

something that we strive to to be able

to uphold so first I actually wrote out

the vision and the mission statement so

the ultimate vision for project life

mastery is to be a world-renowned brand

that positively impacts millions of

people's lives around the world with

world-class content products services

events and coaching in all areas of life

including health fitness emotions

productivity success motivation business

marketing finances relationships and

spirituality our mission is to

transparent ly passionately and

powerfully be a positive example of the

unlimited possibilities that Life offers

for those that are truly committed to

mastery we provide and deliver the

highest quality content products and

resources that truly change lives

creating raving fan customers and

followers now that's the mission

statement and I recommend everybody get

clear on that when you're getting into a

business get clear and what that vision

and what that mission is because that's

gonna what's going to really guide the

direction that you go in your business

your your values also help the decisions

that you make because decisions you make

in your life in your business are based

on what's important to you the values

that you hold and this is something that

I think if you get very clear with can

help ensure that you're moving in the

right direction and building your

business based on fundamental values

like this so I'll share with you what

they are the first value is contribution

always adding value in creating raving

fans and I have a description

each of these values we inspire we

motivate we transform and change lives

this is the essence of what we do

through high quality content products

services and resources that we provide

number two high quality and excellence

go above and beyond the project life

mastery brand is all about mastery

mastery represents the highest quality

and excellence which we always aim to

uphold quality and excellence in our

content products services design

communication and ultimately with how we

present ourselves this requires extra

attention to detail ensuring that

nothing gets published or delivered and

tell us met our highest quality of

highest standards of quality number

three is mastery constant improvement

and growth we practice and live by the

concept of Kaizen which is constant

never-ending improvement we're always

looking for ways to improve ourselves

our processes our systems our work and

ultimately project life mastery this

requires constant learning and growth

whether that be reading books online

resources training or events we never

stay stagnant and stop growing as the

moment you do you start you start dying

number four

effective communication open honest and

clear we consistently openly honestly

and effectively communicate with one

another to ensure that we're on the same

page and able to achieve our outcomes we

aren't afraid to ask for help we openly

communicate challenges problems and

feedback so that we can help one another

resolve them projects and tasks are

communicated amongst one another clearly

and effectively and if something isn't

clear then we communicate and ask for

clarification we openly share goals

visions ideas thoughts win successes

challenges problems and anything else to

ensure we maintain a close culture close

culture based on trust and family spirit

number five accountability taking

responsibility and open to feedback we

hold ourselves and each other

accountable ensuring that we're

performing at the highest possible

standard we ensure we're performing our

tasks effectively meeting deadlines and

achieving results we're each responsible

for our role tasks and what we commit to

therefore we always take responsibility

for our actions and results mistakes and

errors will occur but when they do we

don't hesitate to take ownership of it

and make it right we learn from our

mistakes and others we're open to

feedback from others

as it's always an opportunity

opportunity to learn and improve

number-6 positivity caring and love we

are positive uplifting and supportive we

have zero tolerance for negativity hate

abuse or complaining we're always open

to constructive feedback as long as the

intent is positive we are caring

committed individuals we we care about

others on the team or customers as well

as our followers we treat others with

care respect and love we go out of our

way to show that we care creatively

doing the little things for our team

customers and followers number seven

resourcefulness problem solvers we are

resourceful we are problem solvers if we

don't know the answer to something we

figure it out we search online we ask

for help we learn we change our approach

take new actions we find the way or make

the way if challenges or problems arise

we are equipped to respond and resolve

it we work smart and efficiently not

just working hard our creativity and

resourcefulness is one of our greatest

strengths number eight honesty and

integrity we're honest open ethical

transparent and fair project life

mastery has built on has been built on

trust and transparency from the very

beginning by openly sharing and

providing value online we always strive

to be honest with one another including

our customers and followers number nine

raving fan culture and customers we are

obsessed with creating raving fans

amongst our customers followers and team

to do this we must provide incredible

service we recognize and don't take for

granted the value of a customer as we

know that it's so much more expensive to

get a new customer than it is to take

care of the ones that we already have we

create raving fans by understanding

anticipating and consistently fulfilling

the deepest needs of our customers and

followers this requires love worship

carrying understanding and empathy this

ultimately creates loyalty as well as a

relationship culture and impact that

we're proud of and the last one number

10 is leadership innovation and

creativity we all take on the

responsibility and identity as leaders

as leaders were always innovating

learning coming up with new ideas

sharing them amongst one another and

initiating progress we don't just

perform tasks mindlessly but we actually

think about what we're doing and how we

can

or do it better this requires learning

and creativity and openly sharing

amongst one another as leaders we don't

act passive and just wait to be told

what to do we initiate new ideas and

actions with the intent of growing

project life mastery if we notice

something as small as a spelling mistake

a link not working an error or something

at a place we take the initiative to fix

it or to get help to resolve it we're

taking initiative to improve ourselves

our processes and project life mastery

so those are the values now it's

actually more than ten because I kind of

combined the words together and whatnot

but getting very clear on that that's

what I'm about that's what project life

mastery is about that's what my team is

about and that's what our mission is

about and I'm not perfect with this

there's times where I make mistakes

there's times where I'm out of integrity

there's times where I'm not fully in

alignment but I do my best to have self

awareness of that and to correct myself

to get on the right path and that's why

we review this every quarter in my

business to make sure that we are

consistent with these and things that

I've done in the past I don't do anymore

I'm not involved with I don't profit

from I don't own I'm not no matter what

other people say I'm not involved with

that in any way shape or form but

looking back this is what my path has

been and what's led me to who I am and

where I am today so I hope that I can be

a role model I hope that I can be an

example and not try to be this perfect

person that you know doesn't exist I

know people you know the world that we

live in today

you know people judge other people and

they criticize people and they have high

expectations and standards for them and

and rightly so you know and I do my best

to live up to that and I can't control

the past you know no one can it's what

happens and what I can control is what I

can do today and what I'm going to

continue to do and what I want to do is

actually teach people and inspire people

the right way to build a business and to

show them ways that they can build a

business that is honest and is for the

Huayra good which is really you know

what this is all about because I believe

it's not what you get it's about who you

become and along this journey you know

we're all going to make mistakes and

fail I've got many more failures that

maybe we'll go into different stages

whatnot but I think the most important

thing is that you learn from it that

your past doesn't define you but if you

learn from it there can be incredible

value from it and as long as you don't

repeat those mistakes and you grow and

you step into a higher level of

consciousness and I think that's that's

the right direction and that's what I

aim to uphold in the direction of what I

want to go into in the leader that I

want to become to this world because I

don't take for granted the

responsibility that I have and I'm I

feel very privileged and humbled to even

have a form of influence online I never

thought that project life mastery would

be where it is today and that I'd have

this opportunity to communicate with so

many people and there's a lot that I've

learned from that so hopefully this

video can share with you I guess I you

know different a different side of

business and marketing and kind of helps

you see where I was at one point and

where I am today and ultimately can add

a lot of value that's really what I hope

that this video can do is to add a lot

of value and if you're in a place where

I was you know I get that I get that the

desperation the temptations that exist

but make sure you get clear on your

values my friends because at the end of

the day it's it's not whether or not

anyone else knows because that doesn't

matter you know we all do things that

are stupid and private no one else knows

about we hope nobody knows about but

really what matters is that you know

right and you got to look yourself in

the mirror each day you've got to have

that shadow that follows you around and

I know that you know for me when you're

doing those things that are wrong you

often know deep down in your heart

what's right and wrong and even though

we find we used to justify these actions

it's not right and you have to be able

to correct yourself or maybe have

someone like the right role models I

believe I think that if I had the right

role models I could have maybe avoided

that from the first place and just try

to avoid people that were teaching

things that that weren't right and just

try to make sure with the right values

on finding people that I can learn from

that are in alignment with my values and

it can teach me the right ways of

building a business that are sustainable

so it you know I think part of the

awareness is is finding the right people

to learn from finding people that have

high integrity I think there's a lot of

people out there that can teach you how

to make money

and I know a lot of them and sometimes

you've got to avoid some of that because

yes you might make money from it but

again is it making money in the right

way and that's the direction that I you

know I go in my life

and what I want to inspire and teach

other people to do so thank you so much

it my best to live up to and for me that

that has been an important part of

filtering the decisions I make because I

know ultimately God is the one that

judges me and I want to make sure that

I'm in alignment with my relationship

with God and I'm doing what's right so

only you know that but I can promise you

it's worth it building a business the

right way your self-esteem your

confidence and who you are will be so

much greater and that's really what

matters the most so thank you my friends
