everyone just here in a village in El
Salvador and right now we're in the
middle of constructing this house as you
can see there we've got some foundation
and we've just been laying some some
wood for the foundation of the house
this is actually the current family's
house right over here and maybe I'll
show you guys a little bit about that
later right over there is their bathroom
actually kind of show you what this is
some more construction going on over
here their neighbor's house
we drink by the way the bags of water
alright so this is the bathroom over
here as you can see no toilet here not
much
but here's my team hard at work these
are volunteers
mainly University students at our local
help out and we have one site leader as
well and actually he's the only person
that speaks English so with everyone
else and just kind of communicating just
by trying to put words together and
hopefully we'll get this house done in
the next two days and I'll give you guys
some updates on how it's going all right
so we are building the foundation of the
house right now and the Foundation's the
hardest parts been taking us forever to
put those boards into the concrete but
just like in life you build the
foundation everything else after that
becomes easy you want to say anything

gonna be their new house their new home
all right my team is hard at work as you
can see we've just installed the floor
which is actually a big deal because how
they currently live right now is they
live on the dirt you know they have
smalls and stuff a day and they've on
the dirt asleep on the dirt and so just
having a floor is actually a big deal
for people here so I'm pretty excited
about that
but the foundation could belong this
part now we're gonna throw up the walls
and I'll keep you guys updated all right
it's been a long day and as you can see
behind me we just put up the walls of
the house I'll give you guys a quick
tour it's been a full day we started at
5:30 in the morning as well 5:30 p.m.
right now it's about 12 hours and I'll
give you guys a tour it's my team by the
way right there behind
all right so this is inside the house
pretty simple but it's actually a huge
upgrade to what they currently have and
really the biggest deal is the floor
because they don't have to sleep on the
dirt anymore get a window here give you
guys actually a sneak into their current
house it's right there
it's kind of a kitchen area over there
and they've got a beautiful view of this
field so today we're done for the day
and we're back tomorrow we're gonna put
on the roof and a few other details but
that's it all right we've got a lot of
construction going on here in El
Salvador right now we're in this local
community and we're putting up houses
it's day two of our trip and I'm gonna
give you guys a tour of the neighborhood
and just gonna show you guys a little
bit about the construction that's going
on hola hola

built right over here hello

that's the current house and the new
house is being built right next to it
everyone's hard at work we've got a lot
of volunteers here I think is like a
hundred and eighty volunteers that are
local in El Salvador and it's pretty
impressive that they care so much about
their community that they're here
volunteering this is our house
here I've kind of showed you guys that
already but we're working on the roof
right now our house it's super hot here
I'm surprised that I haven't been
sunburned yet been applying a lot of
sunscreen
got these generators here producing
power
I'll show you guys there uh put up a
wall over here
when if they come to the video

almost done all the walls up in the
house done actually like
these people were going to be leaving
here

these dogs over here those dogs aren't
friendly
there's stray dogs and you try to pet
them and they will attack you and trust
me this is where they pump water from
right there I have to work really hard
to get water here it's not just like
turning on a tap what do we have over
here we've got I was being built as well

this is Santos which is the Santos
chiselling up in areas base of them this
is what you call outsourcing right right
the cha cha labor queue it looks like I
just gotta bring some resources is that
what sourcing it to you now so you guys
are building a door
yeah we're chiseling out areas for the
we didn't do that that's pretty
impressive little to see you kale corner
in the inspection fine craftsmanship
right
Taylor's a former carpenter here so he
has a lot of experience
I'm just showing people that around the
village tell them in the house yeah go
the house yet which one that one yeah
all right all right
so make no ways keep up the good work
Taylor's dad up here Sam who's a a pro
at construction is this is second house
or or Oh what is this the second house
horses he's still working on his first
we just think that's right right over
here

getting in people's way here or uh
volunteers are so nice all right moving
along
- host is being killed on this lot it's
actually 20 houses being built this
weekend in two days pretty amazing
behind me here
I hopefully I don't get attacked
don't want to wake them up although I
don't know how we can sleep all this
noise going on alright so you got some
more right behind
nice little community I mean everyone
knows each other here everyone's really
friendly a lot of people that are close
to family two kids and I'm really amazed
just by their level of happiness and joy
and gratitude you know the religion is
very important to them here and family
as well pretty much in this one being
built down here at the end and down here
it's pretty much the end but there's
like a stream down there but the water
is contaminated you can't drink it
anyways so I just thought I'd show you
guys a little bit about what's going on
here what it looks like after you guys

finished the house here and I will
Salvador I'm gonna show you guys the
finished product and we just had a
ceremony by the way with the family and
it's really powerful we handed over the
keys my team was there who helped build
the house we got it all on video and
everything as well but it was just such
an emotional amazing experience so I'm
gonna show you guys their current house
and the new house that we just built so
right now I'm just actually just outside
and you can see that is their current
house and that's a brand new one and
I'll take you guys in on a close-up
alright so here we have the kurtosis I'm
not sure if you can see that
very well and here is the brand-new
house got some balloons on it
and it might not seem like a very fancy
or nice house but it's actually a huge
upgrade to where they currently live
right now sleeping on the dirt you know
they don't even have doors and
everything just a fact that they have a
door and a lock is a big deal because a
lot of these people they have different
worries than you and I would have you
know they have to worry at night whether
or not someone's going to rob them you
know they have to worry about the
weather you know getting flooded and
these are all experiences that they've
all had so when you can provide less
worries for them it makes a huge
difference in their life and allows them
to you know be able to focus more on
earning money or taking care of their
family or other things so here's one of
the rooms a simple room there's actually
gonna be a little bit further
construction we built this house in a
few days but there'll be a little bit
more construction going on it's a busy a
three room house this room's a little
bit dark windows closed there but that's
it and it was just an amazing experience
the last two days being able to come in
here see how they live make a difference
get to know the families spend time with
volunteers just a really powerful
emotional experience even just handing
over the keys to the woman who's you
know this house is for and her family it
was so emotional she was so grateful I
got emotional in the process you know
she said that I was a gift from God and
she'll never forget this and it was just
such a magical moment that I'll never
forget and you know this is really what
life's about it's about stepping outside
yourself finding a way to contribute
finding a way to give you know there's
people out here who you know are much
less fortunate than you and I've it you
know they don't have the luxury the
opportunities that you and I have and I
think it's our responsibility to be able
to find a way to do well enough in our
lives so that we can
you and do well for others and really
you know those people here that have
funded houses done fundraisers that are
volunteer and you don't have to be
well-off to do this anybody can do it
anyone can make a difference and there's
nothing like it there's no experience
like it on this planet so I want to
encourage you guys to give and do
something like this for yourself because
like I said this is what's gonna add
that fulfillment and that happiness your
life so hopefully you guys enjoy the
videos that I've been putting out on
this and that I can hopefully inspire
you to make a difference in someone
else's life and whatever capacity that
might mean for you so thank you for
