The Biggest Thing I Learned From The Traffic & Conversion Summit - Part 1

master calm in this video I want to
share with you guys my experience
attending the traffic and conversion
summit in San Diego California during
2014 and I just got back about two weeks
ago and I thought I'd just kind of
record this video for you guys to share
my experience and the biggest takeaway
of what I got from the event now there
were a lot of takeaways that I got from
this event and just honestly too much
that I could even talk about in this
video in fact so much of it it's just
all over my brain scattered I've got an
altar of notes and everything and it
would just take me forever just to share
everything that I learned and so I
figured I'll share the biggest things
the biggest highlights that I learned
and hopefully you can take that away
from this video and maybe apply it to
your business or your future online
business now the first thing that I'll
say is that going to these events these
internet marketing events or
business-related events it's very
beneficial
number one not as much for the content
and the information that you're gonna
learn although that's incredible more so
I find of just the inspiration of going
to these events by going to this event
and I've been to a few internet
marketing events now at this point but I
always leave really fired up and
motivated with my businesses there's a
lot of takeaways that I get but often I
find it's a lot of stuff that I already
know but the key is is that it actually
gets you to do the things that you know
you can know what to do but it's doing
what you know is a totally different
thing and so I found that since I've
been back I've been taking massive
action in my business applying all the
stuff that I learned and for me that's
the most important part of going to
these events the inspiration also in the
sense that you're around people that are
doing so much better than you are around
people that are more successful than you
people that are doing some really
incredible things there might be certain
people there that you recognize that you
follow on the internet you know as in my
case Frank Kern is the internet marketer
that I follow those at the event you
know Ryan Deiss and Perry Belcher are
the ones that are running the event and
I looked up to them a lot and I learned
a lot of great stuff from them kevin
o'leary from shark tank and Dragons Den
was at the event and speaking Kevin
ten who used to be on Shark Tank and
it's like the infomercial King was there
also so by going to these events and
being around and seeing these people
that are making millions of dollars
they're living the lifestyle that you
want this is no better source of
inspiration and motivation in your life
to really take things to a whole new
level and if you're totally brand new to
online marketing then I still recommend
to go to these events because you're
gonna get exposed to this totally
radical world of what's possible I
remember I was staying with some friends
from a mastermind group I'm a part of
and they live in San Diego and the guy
had some roommates there that didn't
know anything about online marketing and
came out to the event anyways and by the
end of the event he was like like I
need to apply this stuff I need to
create an online business because he was
seeing the lifestyle the freedom and
just the abundance that you could have
by starting an internet business so it's
really great for the inspiration
motivation and all that stuff so let me
jump in now to the biggest thing that I
got from this event now Ryan Deiss and
Perry Belcher they run a business called
digital marketer and they have a bunch
of different businesses that they run in
different markets or different niches
one of them is forex forex trading and
another one is the survival market and
so they're all over these different
markets and they basically test and
optimize all these different strategies
that they have in these different
businesses and they share all this stuff
with us through digital marketers
through different products that they
have but also at this event and so one
of the biggest things that I got from
the event was how Ryan Dyson and how
they were teaching how you want to set
up and optimize your entire sales funnel
for your business now your sales funnel
is something that's important for any
business not just an internet business
because you need to be able to get
people in the door your customers and
get those prospects and convert them
into customers and be able to monetize
the lifetime value of that person so you
need to be able to make money from that
person not just one time but also build
a long-term relationship
with that prospect or customers so that
you can get the maximum revenue that you
can from them just like you know any
business out there or any brand they
want you to keep coming back and buying
more stuff from them or be a repeat
customer and one of the things that I
think Perry Belcher said at the event
was that we live in the hardest time in
history to get people to part away with
their money to buy stuff from us but we
also live in the easiest time in history
to get people to buy from us the second
third fourth fifth and so forth time and
so people have been becoming more
skeptical more of a wall and barrier to
be able to trust someone to be able to
part with their money and sign up for
something or buy something and and
that's kind of the hardest part is
getting people in the door getting that
first customer but once you have that
customer they've developed a connection
a relationship with you that gives you
the opportunity to much easily sell more
stuff to them because they're already in
that sales funnel and they already have
connection and Trust with you as opposed
to trying to get out there and get more
clients and more customers and so I'm
gonna share with you guys a little bit
more details about the sales funnel that
I learned there's five steps that they
kind of laid out and if you're you know
into internet marketing or have any sort
of business or even like a Kindle
business Kindle e-books a lot of this
stuff can greatly apply to you and I
want to share with you guys just kind of
more personal my sense of like how this
applies to me because I got a lot of
great takeaways but a lot of this stuff
are just kind of little nuggets thing
doesn't apply to me that might not apply
to you but hopefully by watching this
video it can give you some ideas or help
you think about things in a different
way with your business so this five
steps that they have for the entire
sales funnel that they have and the
first one is called the lead magnet now
a lead magnet is basically something
that is a small chunk of value that you
give away to someone for free you're
basically baiting people to give you
their email address for example so that
you can kind of establish a relationship
with that person and be able to
communicate with them and so you know
terms of internet marketing it could be
giving away a free ebook a free video
for the audio you know a free plugin
wordpress plug-in or something something
to free that is basically a way just to
capture those leads and get them into
your sales funnel and so some of the
notes that i have here is that it's
gonna be a small chunk of value instant
gratification that's delivered now
alright so basically you're giving
someone something that they can get
right now it's an ultra specific
solution to an ultra specific market and
it promises one big thing so you're just
basically giving away a promise or one
big thing and it speaks to a known
desired end result and can be consumed
in five minutes or less
okay so an example of this would be if
you go to my blog project like master
comm I have my life mastery tool kit and
that's basically a lead magnet where I'm
offering to give away I'm begging people
to give you some of my best content some
of the great stuff that I have and all
you have to do to receive it is enter
your email address and you can get
access to all that information just like
that and basically for me it gets people
in on my mailing list which allows me to
establish a long-term relationship with
that person be able to provide more
value to them and also be able to make
money from them as well okay so that's
an example of a lead magnet another one
with my Kindle Kindle money mastery
business is I give away a free video
that shows exactly how I make over eight
thousand dollars a month from Kindle
publishing and so I'm giving away a free
video in exchange for someone's email
address and this is something by the way
I just I want to mention this for Kindle
publishers because I know a lot of you
guys are watching essentially you want
to use your Kindle books and have a lead
magnet set up and I've talked about this
and my full disclosure members area
where I talked about how you want to be
able to get those customers those buyers
on Amazon and get them to to enter their
email address to a squeeze page that you
have set up so that you can start to
communicate with them because otherwise
the third is on Amazon there's no way
they communicate with those customers so
by getting them on board and you give
away something a lead magnet to get them
on to your newsletter
now you can establish that relationship
build that trust and make more money
from those from them as well so that's
the lead main number two is the trip
wire so the trip wire is essentially a
low barrier entry impulse-buy so this is
where you offer a product to someone
that's about a seven dollar product it's
a very low barrier entry product that's
very inexpensive but it's just to get
people in the door and get them buying
from you so once you have them on your
email list or once they sign up you want
to direct them to something that you can
provide you know some sort of little
product for them and the reason why it
has to be a small low barrier entry is
because they haven't established enough
trust a relationship from you to be able
to buy something that's really expensive
because a lot of businesses this go
right into selling like $100 or $500
product well you're gonna get very low
conversions on that because you want to
test them out first I'd like a seven
dollar product so you can establish them
buying stuff from you and build that
relationship and provide that value and
then they're more likely to buy more
stuff from you at a higher price point
and so it's a low barrier product so if
you like a seven dollar ebook or a video
you know in my case I kind of use my my
Kindle books like I've got a Kindle
money mastery book on Amazon and I use
that in a way as a tripwire it's about
$2.99 ebook provides a lot of great
value on how to get started with Kindle
publishing but I mainly use that just as
an impulse buy from people so that they
can get on board establish a
relationship with me so that they can
buy my actual Kindle money mastery
course okay so that's the example of
that
another case could be in my situation to
do what I called WSO's which on the
warrior forum they're called warrior
special offers which are basically just
providing value for little seven dollar
products but again the purpose of that
is just you're not gonna make much money
from that offer but it's just to get
people in the door so that they're going
to be more likely to buy more stuff from
you so that's the tripwire
number three is the core offer and the
court offer is a flagship product or
service it's what you're most known for
and the goal is to optimize you know
total revenue from that so in my case
it's my Kindle money mastery course it's
the product that I offer that you know
helps people with Kindle publishing how
to make money online and everything
