Magnetic Propulsion----make money online

here's a neat little demo that shows the

power of electromagnetics I've got a

little triple-a battery here with two

very strong neodymium magnets on the

ends of it and when I put it into this

copper coil that I won't check out what

happens it's sort of like a little train

and this demo made the rounds on the

internet recently I thought I'd have a

go at myself and it works better than

you might think but the trick is making

this coil let's try it again as you can

see the magnets are quite strong and you

saw it got stuck on the screw head

that's in the table here these magnets

are quite powerful they're neodymium

magnets and you need to really have a

strong magnetic field to make this work

so what's happening here is the the

magnets are conductive electrically and

the battery is you know positive

terminal here negative terminal here so

when this thing is inside the copper

coil it's actually conducting current

from one ends to the other and the

current flowing through the copper coil

creates a magnetic field but then these

magnets here oppose that field they push

against that field that's being created

by the electricity and that's what

propels the thing forward so if I get

out some of this magnetic viewer film

you can see the field lines created by

those permanent magnets

I made the copper coil on my lathe and I

started with a half-inch diameter piece

of aluminum and drilled a hole in it and

then started the lathe spinning slowly

in Reverse and used a leather glove to

sort of pull the wire as it was being

wound onto the aluminum rod the magnet

diameter is exactly 1/2 inch and so when

you winds the wire on a half-inch

diameter aluminum rod when you're done

winding the wire will spring back

slightly and make the interior diameter

just slightly larger than half an inch

so all the clearances work out just fine
