IF YOU SEE ANY LINKS IN THE DESCRIPTION, IT IS A HIGH CHANCE IT IS AN AFFILIATE
LINK.
today we're going to look at a way that
you can make money with renting out the
unused space on your computer but before
we talk about that if you like videos
about making money online online
business and entrepreneurship subscribe
to this channel and take the bell icon
to get notified when I release a new
video also if you want a free course
where I teach you step by step how I
make money online there is a link to my
free course down in the description now
let's get into the video the website is
called storage a dot IO but they call it
storage the user experience is very much
like Google Drive or Dropbox but it's
much more than that so we're going to
watch a video of how it works and then
talk about how you can make money with
this
imagine if the cloud wasn't up here but
down here with us
that's storage
[Music]
storage is a cloud shared by the
community it's potentially the largest
cheapest and most secure cloud available
what you share is what you get you could
even be paid by renting your extra space
but how is it more secure each file is
shredded encrypted and spread across the
network until you're ready to use it
again and you can be sure the files are
safe because the keys are in your pocket
not a company's only you have access to
your stuff because the network is shared
you don't have to worry about slow
download speeds coming from one place
we're all helping to make the system
blazing fast and if you have some extra
space lying around you'll get paid by
users who need more than they can share
it's like renting out your empty hard
drives a cloud with security no downtime
and speed at a fraction of the cost so
as you can see the files are shared
across many computers around the world
and when you want to access the file
again all the computers send you your
files and the technology is insanely
cool it's this kind of blockchain
cryptocurrency thing and I think I read
way too much about storage today but how
do you make money with this just go to
the rent drive button and you need to
download this slow software and inside
the software is where you can choose how
much space you want to rent out and that
you want others to use and so forth but
how much money can you actually make
with this well there's a few different
variables when it comes to this how much
storage do you have how good of an
internet connection do you have and how
many people are renting out their unused
space or is it saturated so for example
say you have one terabyte of space there
is two ways that you can make money with
this
if someone stores something on your
computer you will get paid if it if it
just sits there and you'll make even
more money if someone downloads the
files that you have sitting on your
computer
calculating how much you would earn what
this becomes quite hard I found a couple
of earning potential stoves so let's see
here they have an example with one
terabytes and one with 13 terabytes on
their page where they calculate the
power costs as well of running the hard
drives so they write here that if you
lend out one terabyte of space you will
get a revenue of seven dollars but a
monthly profit of one dollars and six
cents they also have an example right
here if you lend out 13 terabytes you
can make an easy 67 per month in profit
now these numbers are written on their
blog but as I said before you make much
more money when people download their
files through your PC and here is the
payout of the top 20 farmers in April
and as you can see number 4 has a very
little spaced shared on his hard drive
but a lot of people has used his drive
to download their files again also you
can see that their earnings are pretty
high here there's also another guy I
found that makes 30 to 50 a month
sharing 1.8 terabyte over a 100 megabit
connection and that's where the internet
connection comes into play as well I've
read something that they said that if
you have way better connection they will
rent out your space first so having a
good internet connection is really good
if you want to do this method but as you
can see you never really know how much
you can make with this because of the
price going up and down and how much is
downloading and uploading and stuff like
that now what about the payment if you
make money with this how do you get paid
so storage is a little weird like this
but it's totally cool because you get
paid in storage tokens and this is a
crypto currency quite like Bitcoin and a
theorem and if you want to get your
payouts you will first have to sell your
storage tokens to a theorem and from a
theorem to
u.s. dollars if that's what your
currency is now that's how I have I
think this is a really cool method of
making money online and storage is still
in very early development and it will be
fun to see if the company grows over
time maybe it will even take over like
Dropbox at some time because the
technology is cheaper and faster than
any of the competitors and with all
being encrypted and they use blockchain
technologies so I mean I love this stuff
it's really cool to see the growth of
cryptocurrencies because it's way better
than what we have but if you don't want
to make money through this method I
guess a lot of people don't have that
much storage on their computer I left a
link in the description to my free
course where you can learn how I make
money and how you can make a business
doing what you love thank you all for
watching don't forget to subscribe and
