gonna talk about three ways that you can
get traffic to your new affiliate site
without having to build links by the way

hey what's up I'm gonna go over three
ways to get traffic to your niche or
authority site fast and by the way this
doesn't require the normal link building
that we think about when you think about
getting traffic my name is Doug
Huntington
I'm from niche site project let's get to
the three points right away the first
method is reddit so I'm not actually a
big reddit person myself however I do
realize it is a really a huge social
network where a lot of people do spend a
lot of time the tough part with reddit
is that it's probably going to be pretty
hard to just show up to a you know a
reddit thread a forum I'm not sure if
that's even the right term but a reddit
board and post something and post a link
and get it to stick a lot of times you
do have to be a member of that community
and show just in general that you're a
contributor and you're not just there
you know trying to spam a link out there
however if you do put in the time and
this could work really well if you
happen to have a passion and whatever
the topic or niches if you're already
active in a reddit community it should
be a no-brainer to go and share your
link specifically if it's helpful it'll
probably be most helpful if it is a
how-to type article versus some kind of
product review but reddit could be a
huge source of traffic just in general
and there are several documented case
studies where a niche site owner shared
their specific site in a reddit board
and they were able to get tons of
traffic now again the editors they do
mark stuff as spam and they'll kick you
out and you will be able to post there
and said be careful but if you do it the
right way you can't get tons of traffic
the second way is sharing on social
media so it does depend on what your
niche is where you're gonna try and
share it so by social media we are
talking about sites like Pinterest
Twitter Facebook even YouTube and you do
have to understand your niche so
hopefully if you have a niche site on a
specific topic then you kind of know
what's going on in the niche and for
certain niches Pinterest is going to be
the most active and Facebook is not
going to have much activity so you need
to have an understanding on that
sometimes they'll there will be multiple
you know social media areas where
there's a lot of activity and you can
you know cross promote as needed now the
thing is for that again you're probably
gonna have to have some sort of you know
active profile in certain areas or it's
not going to work so for example here if
you just join a Facebook group and you
try to share a link and you've never
been there before it may not go over
well at all because it'll look like
you're just spamming your link which you
literally would be doing that now a
place like Twitter if you share
something maybe no one sees it if you
don't have any followers so that's
something where you would have to you
network with other people and hope that
they share it now you could ask them to
share it and that can be effective but
in a lot of ways you you have to make
sure that you're contacting an actual
influencer otherwise someone may share
your link because you ask them but if no
one follows them either that it's not
gonna be effective now Pinterest isn't
interesting a spot I'm not big into
Pinterest or really any social media but
if you get you know your site your URL
pinned by you know someone who has a lot
of followers on their boards or someone
you know shares that otherwise you can
get tons and tons of traffic that way
and by accident I have had one site
where we created a very long infographic
and for some reason it did well in
Pinterest and it ended up going you know
viral at least for that niche and it
brought in a lot of traffic over time
my belief is enough traffic came through
that you know the rankings actually
probably went up because of the social
shares and number three is sort of my
favorite the one that I actually do this
is blog commenting so you can't actually
get traffic if you put effort in to blog
commenting so you have to comment on
relevant blogs right so the visitor that
is reading that post and they read your
comments there they would need to be
interested in the topic of your site so
if you were into skiing for example then
you know you were posting on an outdoor
sort of ski equipment type website and
you were you were commenting on that
post that would probably work because
it's the right type of visitor but if
you were reviewing ski equipment and you
went to comment on a like a vegan
website that was all about vegan recipes
there may not be like a very good
overlap there so you're probably not
going to get traffic but if you target
the right types of blog post to comment
on you actually can get traffic now if
you just put you know one comment on one
relevant blog post that's probably not
going to be helpful but if you comment
over and over again over a period of you
know weeks you probably will be able to
get traffic now I'm not saying comment
on the same blog over and over again but
if you find you know dozens of blogs
that you could comment on you can slowly
get traffic a lot of bloggers actually
end up getting traffic that way the
benefit of commenting on blogs is the
fact that you're also networking within
the niche so that could lead to future
guest post and that sort of thing so
those are the three ways check out
reddit check out social media and share
your stuff and then blog commenting on
relevant blog post and by the way if
