and in this video I got a question for
you are you keeping up with the
vaynerchuk's right so there's a problem
in our world for new marketers and that
problem is the availability to see what
so many other people are doing and then
as human beings we're all human beings
we compare ourselves with them and
that's the true problem right the true
problem is when one person starts to
compare themselves with the output of
what other people are doing so first off
I got a question and I want you to
answer in the comments below not to chat
the comments do you know who Gary
Vaynerchuk is yes and if so how many of
his videos a week do you think you watch
right so yes or no if you know more do
you don't and then how many videos a
week and if it's no it'll be zero but if
you do watch you know dailyvee video I
want to know how many you watch because
that's gonna play in very very important
here so I've got a story for you
I've got a little analogy about what
this actually means to help make crystal
clear crystal crystal clear how this
works and then I've got a new way of
looking at the world of media right now
so the first big idea is that every
business in our world today needs to
become a media business a digital media
business media drives everything media
drives clicks media drives foot traffic
media drives sales I don't care if
you're a restaurant if you're selling
mattresses if you've got a membership
program if you're a coach if you're you
run a gym media is and can be everything
new school businesses that are
leveraging digital media then you have
people like Gary Vaynerchuk who's just a
prime example and the dude smart like
like for sure he's smart but if you
right now are in month one month six if
you're in year one or year three and if
you're under year three of your business
right you're making 10 grand a month or
you're making one grand a month you're
making a hundred bucks a month or zero
and you're comparing yourself to what
Gary Vaynerchuk is doing today you're
setting yourself up for failure you're
setting yourself up for absolute burnout
and that is a huge problem and here's
why I think it's really important to
always go and look back at where people
start it right so one of the things I do
when I when I hear about other people do
you know who so-and-so is and like I
don't know I don't watch anybody's
Channel
any videos on YouTube at all I'm too
damn busy building my business to go
watch other people's stuff but every
once in a while I want to pop in and see
what other people are doing because they
keep hearing their names bounce around
the first thing I do I open up their
channel I click on videos up top sort my
oldest videos so again back to the Gary
Vaynerchuk reference so we're gonna go
back to Gary Vaynerchuk and we're gonna
look at Wine Library TV which is the
channel that he learned all of his
digital marketing skills that he got his
actual experience in over five years he
put out over 1,000 videos dude was a
total nobody in the world of business
for well over five years grinding it out
in his niche in his niche doing his wine
thing then you sort by videos you go
back to his first video and it's like
wow that dude was awkward uncomfortable
did not he was just so uncomfortable in
his first videos well go watch my first
videos same thing awkward uncomfortable
terrible lighting terrible audio the
camera is way too close to my face it
was a whole it's cringe-worthy literally
my first videos are cringe-worthy and I
leave them up as a badge of honor
because everyone starts at the beginning
right everyone does and there was a time
I started making money online in 2003
there was a time when I was looking
around the world and I want to put a
perspective a lot of the Guru's out
there right now who are selling $5,000
consulting courses and all this fancy
stuff and you know they're there now
talking about why you shouldn't listen
to gurus they're starting their channels
are stopping their channels they got
super cars behind him these dudes were
nobodies when I started making money
online
they weren't even around they were
deployed they were doing other things
they just hadn't even entered the space
yet and I watched other people create
massive success while I sat on my hands
and yes I'm sitting on my hands and all
I did was consume content all I did was
try to figure out how the whole game
works all I did was just watching and
learn and learn fill my brain with yes
now it's three guards are spoon as I
consume back then helping me today like
I guess you could maybe make an argument
but what they did for sure is they
stopped me from taking action in the
moment and that is why when that first
business fell apart in about 2004 it
took me all the way to 2009
momentum going again and get a business
started that actually worked and what
shifted on that next business is I had
blinders on I had unsubscribe from
everyone I wasn't watching wasn't
consuming all I did was publish the
content so that's the story now we get
to the analogy that I promised you let's
say that miles Beckler decides he's
gonna go run a marathon not any shape to
run a marathon that sounds like torture
to me people do that for I think they
call it fun but it just honestly it just
sounds like torture so I'm gonna go run
a marathon analogy being you're gonna
start a business okay so now I'm like
all right who's the fastest runner in
the world
okay Gary Vaynerchuk right now in his
output that he puts out last statistic I
heard has probably grown since now was
something like 17 employees to the tune
of $50,000 per month to help him take
his messages and broadcast all his media
out in the world now if you're just
starting out I don't know you got 50
grand a month you could dump on it 99%
of people who build businesses online I
would actually go as far as saying
99.999 percent of people don't make 50
grand right I'm clearly in the
oh-oh-oh-oh 1% of people in this world
you got to realize that there's just no
way so here I am thinking about running
a marathon and what am I gonna do well
let me go watch the best runner in the
world and I'm gonna try to keep up with
that guy what's gonna happen like my
heart will explode
I will die like literally I would die
actually I would probably get a side
ache like a side cramp at like you know
meter number 312 and I'd probably just
like roll on the ground and be like this
was stupid and go find some vegan tacos
and just like get back to normal life
right like it would literally just burn
me out instantaneously if I was
comparing myself to where they are why
because that marathon runner is
sponsored they got all their monies
covered right they got it covered so is
Gary Vaynerchuk sponsored well kind of
he has a business that's run by his
executive team and all he does is go
around and speak and hold those
high-level meetings that he once and
that whose income is solid so in that
sense we'll call that yes then number
two this individual who I'm looking at
who runs marathons professionally
they've got nutrition coach they've got
a health coach they've I mean they have
people watch their monitor their heart
rates like they have teams of people
around them supporting them and they're
focusing every single waking moment on
that one task now me if I try to do
right if I'm trying to get into a
marathon
like I got my business run I got bills
to pay I got things I got to do right
I'm there's no passive income in this
world internet marketing I can just stop
doing this and you know things would
things be ok but now my business would
begin to deteriorate the moment I
stopped so I would have to niche out
time on the side to go try to keep up
with somebody who's putting in 60 hour
80 hour weeks whereas I'm doing 68 hours
weeks of this and I'd maybe have like
5-10 hours a week to Train like there's
there's just no way and when I use that
running analogy it's the exact same damn
thing but it makes it so clear it's so
crystal clear that if you were to do a
physical thing you look at like trying
to play pro basketball cuz like the
income I'm at that the level of the game
that gary vaynerchuk's at dudes LeBron
right well actually let's let's use he's
Steph Curry he's somebody who's doing
really well this year right we'll put
him on that level but like whatever it
is you compare it to look at a real
world variation of somebody who's on the
absolute top and pinnacle of their game
and then look at you who ain't doing
nothing in that space or maybe you play
a little bball at the hoops down at the
park near your house okay you won't go
from there to the NBA like damn you got
a world of hurt coming your way to
realize how much work it actually takes
to get to that point but yet when people
focus on making money online all the
Sims like well oh that's gonna be easy I
could just do that in like two three
months yeah this guru said it was gonna
be easy
but if somebody tried to sell you a
course of how to run a marathon win
first become a full-time marathon runner
in 30 days with zero effort you'd be
like okay right no effing way impossible
right but yet when people put out those
kinds of pitches for internet marketing
stuff people buy them all the time and
they actually think that it's possible
like it likes like somehow it's
different here because it's a because
it's like a mental thing even though it
is very physical right try putting in 10
12 hour days every day for seven days a
week for seven years straight cuz that's
about what million I've been doing you
need to have some serious energy
management game to be that prophetic of
a content creator and to be that
prophetic just to have that much energy
to put in seven days a week every single
week 10 plus years 60 70 80 hour weeks
non-stop still growing I'm creating
bigger challenges today than I've ever
faced in my business it's one after
another so that's the big idea right
so free yourself right now if you watch
a Gary Vaynerchuk video this week go
watch his first Wine Library TV video
because that's probably about where you
are if you're in month three of your
business school go watch episode 90 and
see where he was and your godamn this
was bad this was terrible so then you're
like okay cool and then go watch my
early videos and then that's it no more
YouTube for the week then you realize
okay so the game is shitty first draft
right the game is to put out just a bad
video because everybody puts out a bad
video and then so-so video one sucks
this much that's that's our level of
suck ability and give this a thumbs up
if you're enjoying this so I know
so our level of suck ability is maximum
on video one my video one was maximum
suck ability video two sucks a tiny bit
last but it still sucked video three
still sucks right so what happens if you
make enough videos they begin to suck
less and then we made a hundred videos
right 200 videos you are just kind of
sucky like you still suck at 200 it's
just the truth of it my 200th video was
still kind of bad like it's still kind
of sucked right but now about 500 videos
in almost three years in I feel like I
got it I feel like I've got it kind of
figured out I got enough freedom to do
my emails every day I get a blog stuff
going I'm doing a little bit on on the
Facebook now too
I feel like I got it pretty good I'm not
the best in the world if I went and
compared myself to Gary Vaynerchuk for
video quality
Casey nice that all those fancy DSLR
movie maker people who are just like
impressive they are just flat-out
impressive but I can't compare myself to
them because that's not I'm just an
educator I'm just here to help you grow
business online that's about mentioned
on earth that's my passion that's what
I'm here to do so I just do me that's a
whole bit you do you I do me run your
race at your pace make sure if you are
comparing yourself you're comparing
yourself with where they were not where
they are today because I don't think you
got 50 grand a month to drop on 17
people and enough going on to make that
even worth it right my life is boring
people like Moses should vlog when you
want to watch me sit here and like
were called to be annoying be the worst
vlog in the world because all I do is
work 1012 hours a day

then I work with my team I'm on a phone
with my teammates my content my writer
an editing team I'm on the phone with
them three four times a week three four
five six hours a week how do we get this
better how do we get it faster how do we
I got my my virtual assistant she's
making my in Seattle I'm on the phone
with her getting her so when I'm not
making content I'm working with people
who are making content for me again I've
been making money online for 13 years at
this point
I've been full-time doing 70 hour weeks
since 2010 okay so perspective there so
if you want go look at where we were so
that's a big idea and the last final
thought one more thought and then I'm
gonna let you guys go and I appreciate
all of the I appreciate all the comments

wow all right cool so anyways the last
bit is the difference between just
encase information and just-in-time
information because you might be like
we'll put miles like your videos are
helpful like you teach me how to do
things and like great now the world we
live in is on the cloud okay there was a
day however when I was a kid we had a
Britannica encyclopedia maybe you had an
encyclopedia - at one point in your
house and when I haven't learned
something I'm writing an article or a
paper in elementary school on what does
an aardvark I'd go to the Encyclopedia
that we had in the bookshelf you pull
out okay a right flip aardvark okay I'm
gonna tell you an aardvark is well today
we go to Google right everything is in
the cloud so which means the the answers
to your questions are all in the cloud
and the problem what a lot of people are
doing is they feel like well but I need
to know how everything works and you
know how this works because I might at
some point encounter a problem there
this is the just encase approach and
this is the approach that will it will
you just won't make any progress this
this approach will be your biggest
roadblock because what you're doing
you're spending time thinking about and
solutions to problems you ain't even got
and you might not ever encounter that
problem but here's the thing if you do
my videos are there for you when that
problem happens so the goal is sucky
videos or blog posts or podcast or just
you know just just put out content and
just just be okay with the fact that
your first ones are not going to be
your 50th your 51 50th one's not gonna
be who goes your hundredth and by the
time you get to a thousand you might be
good Gary Vaynerchuk five years thousand
videos then he started to get good
enough to where he started talking about
other stuff
cool have you done a thousand videos in
five years yet now the cool start
they're like Gary Vee was nobody at
video 985 except to a few people in the
line world right like you know Gary Vee
now because he's been doing 15 20 years
of prolific content creation and you
might want to leapfrog that but the
leapfrog is 10 hour 12 hour days every
single day 10 straight years you better
love that niche you chose you better
love putting out content on that stuff
so the idea is at some point you're on
this path of putting out your videos
right video video video video video or
blog post or podcast it's gonna be one
of those three right you're doing it
you're doing your work and all sudden
roadblock how though what like like
things just aren't working anymore
you're not getting rich not amazing man
maybe it's keyword research right so my
videos in the cloud so what'd he do
whoop go over to YouTube how did you
keep a research know what for my payment
if you don't want you don't have to pull
it huh Voeckler become a keyword
research which I appreciate if you do
but you don't have to right so you just
search in keyword research my videos
gonna show up there it is so now that
you have this problem in this moment you
go to the cloud you type in your problem
the answer shows up oh how about that
Google YouTube they know the answer you
watch you learn the answer and then what
you do you go back you remove that
roadblock back to work then you hit the
next one well okay I got the cue
research maybe I'm not optimizing my
video well enough gonna go back here
mm-hmm how to optimize my video because
that is the problem I have right now so
then I find it find a solution get that
road block out of the way cool Oh back
to making sucky videos doop doop doop
right that is the path but so many
people are like well I need to know how
to do this then I need to do that and
then at some point if that I'm probably
have to run a Facebook ad so I need to
know how to do that and oh man maybe I
should learn how you retargeting oh
maybe I should learn and I get all these
like hypothetical questions in the
comments from people who are taking zero
action well but miles if you did it like
this with that then this on top of that
wouldn't it work better and it's like I
don't know maybe but like I made a
couple mil doing it my way
like what you
and I look at their videos they got
nothing I look for a blog I look about
they're doing nothing but just mental
every they're just they're just mental
effing ideas together with putting out
no sort of work and they're watching all
these videos and they think they're
getting smarter but they're not because
they're not taking any action at all and
if you're over here I implore you put on
the blinders give yourself permission to
put out an imperfect product every day
this video is imperfect this video could
have been better but you know what it's
done it's out it's in your hands it's in
the cloud if you when somebody searches
at some point I gotta optimize it only
put better thumbnail on it all this
little stuff will have to get done and I
will do some of it not all of it by any
means no no I got to do
way more important stuff to do right
that moves the needle even more in my
business but I gotta still do this and
that's the path man I just I just hope
this makes sense because so many people
watch Gary Vaynerchuk Wow like I don't
know what it is like New York fancy
that's so cool it's like he's in New
York and it's fancy and it's just like
to me it's just annoying his he
says the same three things over and over
nothing makes it like there's no actual
tactics you're never to learn anything
he's just like hustle hustle hustle
hustle hustle opportunity or husk might
like yeah I get that but what do you do
what are the things that I need to do
well that's why I made my channel is
because I think that's what you need or
the tactics but you need his mindset
stuff too and somewhere in there there's
a blend and when you hustle for 3 years
5 years 7 years 10 years still grinding
out our angel site 10 years later still
coming up with new traffic sources 10
years later still tweaking new funnels
10 years later right like this is it
ain't no mai tais there ain't no finish
line in the world of entrepreneurship
where you're done period that that is a
that is a myth I need to end and I think
I'm bout to make it a mission of mine
there ain't no swingin in my eyes
perceive income everybody who talks
about passive income is we're gonna
asses off selling you a lie of passive
income watch them they're posted on
Instagram that ain't passive they're
posted on Facebook they're running
Facebook ads or build new funnels or run
split tests ain't passive their servers
are going down there they're like all
kinds of problems pop up that ain't
passive ain't nothing passive about it
but they're selling you a fake dream
and it ain't true and that's the problem
but the truth is you could make a really
sucky video today and then you can make
a less sucky video tomorrow then a less
sucky video after that and Alessa and
then 500 videos later you're like I
almost don't suck and that's the cool
part that's the empowering part and I'm
not even 500 videos yet I'm barely
getting started I mean gotten to where
Gary Vee was I haven't gotten halfway to
where Gary Vee was before he flipped out
of the wine world I am barely getting
started so if you aren't putting out as
much content as I am go look at where I
was go look at where Gary Vee was if
you're a month to go look at what's
video number 48 was for Gary he numbered
him neatly it's easy to find right go
look at that hey I don't even think he
like let his personality come out for
like 80 videos or something crazy right
so so just that perspective is so
powerful like you're running a lifelong
marathon it's never over you better love
your niche you better love the people
you're serving you let better love that
audience you damn right Gary Vaynerchuk
loves it I love this stuff my wife loves
her little world my friends who have the
the fitness for dressage horseback
riding they love horses they love
fitness they're there to the FISC people
I've ever met ever right my friends
who've got the drone businesses love
drones the RC car RC plane guy in the UK
he loves RC planes he's going to be
flying kinds braking planes buying new
planes putting planes together breaking
them fixing them for the next five years
and he's gonna be happy as a lark and
even be testing out new remote controls
and servos and all this stuff he's
making videos about it he's making money
off of it because he loves it and his
first videos were rubbish because he's
British they weren't sucky they were
rubbish and then the second video was a
little less rubbish still rubbish that's
the path so I hope it makes sense I

get where you want to be at 300 go make
300 more just keep going like you just
it's just for ever like that's what this
is you're here on this earth to create
so go create might as well be helpful to
people create value in the lives of
others you'll be amazed what you create
