Doug.Show Live: Affiliate Marketing, Amazon Associates, Stories, Questions

one duck Huntington here for the Doug
show I blog a niche site project if you
are on the chat say hello let me know
where you're from I say we have Monty on
asking a question already so I'll keep
an eye on it on the chat to answer
questions we have several several things
we're going to talk about today if it's
your first time to a live stream welcome
it's great to have you on board here and
typically I have an agenda right so I
have an agenda I have about five or so
things I want to talk about we're gonna
hit those and basically if you have
questions you can ask in the chat there
are very helpful people in the chat
there so they will potentially answer
your question point you in the right
direction I'll keep an eye of the
questions are indeed relevant to the
topics of the day
then I can answer them if they're
completely irrelevant
I may just skip over them and come back
to them later or if they are a hundred
percent like unrelated then you know
we'll we'll just get them so anyway the
things we're going to talk about today
we got the age cite case study I'll give
you a sort of a brief November update
I'll show you
earnings reports I will show you traffic
impressions that sort of thing some good
data from those areas also mention the
kgr the keyword golden ratio and some of
the you know interesting things that
i've been doing a niche site project
where i've added like more content about
the keyword golden ratio funny story
when that comes around next one our
professor that is ron Stefanski he had a
record a couple months worth of revenue
and I think the highest profit that he's
hit since he started documenting his
income online back in 2014 so I'll share
that run sent a personal message for the
crew here and I have a couple other like
clips and stuff to show from an
interview that I did with Ron
and I'll briefly talk about like growing
a site scaling a couple things like that
obviously a huge topic but I know
actually let me know in the chat for the
people that are here live
thanks for the live folks by the way
basically let me know in the chat if you
have a site that's like earning say at
least a hundred dollars per month and
you want to go bigger right of course
everybody wants to grow go bigger but
I'm just trying to gauge so let me know
like if you're in like the hundred to a
thousand dollars per month and then
maybe like a thousand to five thousand
and then or beyond so just curious
because I mean there are a few like key
things spoiler alert it's all the boring
stuff that I usually talk about there's
no like secret trick or anything like
that and finally John Dykstra over at
the fat stacks blog one of my friends
over there he also publishes income
reports and he had some interesting
things going on got a couple clips from
John as well so thanks everyone for
hopping on Monte's out of the Minnesota
area we have a Damien in London what's
up we have Dennis in Vancouver Jill
what's going on we have Jay Y H and a
trending report what's going on we have
Marty Derek and Monty mentions that he
actually picked up a couple of fat
stacks courses for the Cyber Monday
special we have Paul on as well so one
other announcement before we get to the
meat of what we're going to talk about
today is about the meetup that will
happen in Atlanta I know Derek I think
you're in the Atlanta area Marty is I
have a few other people that I know in
Atlanta I'm from the area I used to live
in Lawrenceville back in the day and
then actually all over I lived in
Lawrenceville like growing up and then
went to Georgia Tech lived in the
Downtown Midtown area for a while
Edgewood if you know the neighborhoods
and then in Dunwoody as well so I have
worked like sort of all over sort of the
north side and north east side of the
city there so I may start getting into
the content so that we do have a lot to
cover and unlike the you know if you
used to show up for the old Q&A is on
Fridays where it was a free-for-all this
isn't like that so yeah like I said feel
free to ask questions but I will skip
over them if they're like irrelevant to
the topic is my audio okay I see it
looks like I may be talking too loud so
maybe I'll just take it down a notch and
a whisper so Tosh what's up walk as chew
what's up James I'm just giving
everybody a shout out before we get into
it AJ and cool cool all right and I'll
talk more about the meetup and stuff in
a few minutes and if you know just as a
encouragement to click the thumbs up if
you can hear me okay click the thumbs up
click the thumbs up and cool so let's
hop over to the Aged site case study
update so first off let me make sure I
can share my screen and the way that I
went to ok it looks like it is working
alright perfect perfect
and you should be able to see this let's
see I'm still getting used to the
software so everyone's patience is much
appreciated here ok yeah that's pretty
good
that's pretty good yeah we're doing a
live stream here so ok first well this
is just the title slide so let's move on
from this quick notes if you are not
subscribed to the Doug show podcast this
should be working but it's not if you're
not subscribed to the Doug dot show you
should check it out all right there's a
lot of additional content that you don't
get on YouTube and quick tip on you
I mean I'd do this I'm a consumer of
YouTube love it but watch all sorts of
videos and learn and entertained and all
that it's very distracting all right
there's a lot of stuff going on if I am
slightly bored with a video I will look
for something else so if you really kind
of want to be immersed in what we're
talking about and the podcast is the way
to go a lot of people listen when
they're doing stuff around the house
maybe in a commute that sort of thing so
do check it out
all right audio is good thank you thank
you okay so here is the age sight case
study for November you can see the dates
here at November 1st through the 30th
about $60.00 nothing crazy nothing crazy
for the Black Friday no huge spike of
traffic or clicks or sales or anything
like that this seems to be just about
average slightly trending up to be
honest with you I pull the report just
minutes ago so I don't remember what it
was for October but I think it's a
slight increase but not much if anyone
remembers you know let me know the
traffic information and some of the
other stuff I'll show you is a little
more telling so quick note if you're
completely unfamiliar of this or if
you're completely unfamiliar with this
case study the idea is I bought a site
pre-made it was an aged site that's why
it's called the edge site case study so
it's an aged site and it started you
know making sales really quickly and
basically I was able to like get traffic
in sales within the first weekend of
like taking ownership I bought it from
human proof designs I'm an affiliate for
them so if you use my affiliate link I
get a commission and basically any
products that I mentioned any companies
probably an affiliate for something so
keep that in mind I can earn a
commission thanks if you use the
affiliate link okay so the idea is I
bought the site and I outsource like all
of the activities and I can tell you it
is really quite expensive when you
source all the activities getting a link
building guest posting service to do
work for you is super expensive it's
somewhere on par of like I would say
like six to ten times more expensive
than if I do it myself but that's that's
how we're doing a case study so really
kind of ties my hands behind my back
although the good part is I'm putting a
virtually no time into this and for the
people that have been following along
for a while I still haven't read the
content I've been busy doing some other
stuff and maybe it's a good activity for
me to just like a look at one or two of
the articles here and there like during
the Christmas holiday and I need to turn
off this every time a chat comes through
and makes a little noise I just don't
want to hear that noise so may be able
to work on it right now I may have to
come back to it later let me just check
because I do like the chat stuff going
on but I don't need to hear every single
little message that comes through what
are we doing come on come on all right
we'll just turn the volume down the
old-fashioned way to take care of it
I'll just turn the volume down okay so
anyway that's the premise of the whole
case study it's going pretty well and as
I mentioned traffic is slowly increasing
and you can see here this is November
all right so we got November going on
here and things look good there was an
update there was a Google update hell on
November 8th and this I increased you
can see just a little tick up right
about there and in general my sites have
increased in traffic after November 8
there's one site that dropped by about
10% I've heard reports of you know
increase in traffic the the lowest are
the biggest decrease that I've seen is
probably like someone mentioned like
40-ish percent so obviously a
devastating hit but you know it's
unclear like what
that update was all about initially I
thought it was actually part of the Burt
update which is another topic for
another day so thanks for the other
folks that are hopping on I will I will
say hello to you in a moment
so moving on it is always interesting to
compare the previous month to the
current month or you know whatever
whatever we're looking at whatever data
so you can see here we're comparing
November to October and it's about a 24%
increase as I mentioned November 8th
seem to be a positive thing additionally
there was a little more traffic believe
just from people browsing on Black
Friday Cyber Monday and all that
business so traffic is up over the
previous month by a pretty substantial
amount can you you know why I didn't
show the earnings for the the previous
month but I don't think the earnings
grew in a corresponding way compared to
the traffic no need to be alarmed
there's informational content on the
site as well and I see there were some
questions about the site so I can answer
those in a bit here and moving on so
this is the traffic from the very
beginning I sort of smoothed out the
graph by the week but you know you can
see I took over the site there in
mid-june and just about every week the
traffic is up just a little tiny amount
which is great I'm not necessarily
expecting any sort of hockey stick
growth or anything like that so this is
good this looks good to me I wouldn't I
wouldn't be surprised if it just
continues to stick like that for a while
and then maybe there's going to be some
some period of time where it does jump a
little bit kind of like actually if we
go back a couple slides here you can see
in November it's sort of like stair
stepped up a little bit and if you
smooth this out you will see like oh one
week
it was at a you know traffic level X and
now is it like one in half X something
like that so every now and then you do
see a little bit of a jump and then it
stays up at that point so but when
you're looking at this it's just
constant growth nothing huge nothing
nothing's amazing just steady growth and
what else do we have here okay so this
is over from the search console and it's
interesting data to look at as well so
here we're reviewing the total
impressions right here
and you can see quite a bit of growth
now impressions are just when a the site
shows up upon you know a SERP right the
search engine result page and from there
you can see it's growing pretty good and
then a little bit of a jump here like in
the last few days which is cool but it's
roughly 2 X all right so roughly double
the more important part is the clicks so
and it looks like I didn't pull the same
report that I thought I thought I was
here but you can see the clicks in the
same graph as the total impressions here
and it's just consistent growth again we
see the consistent growth which feels
good for me so I actually don't remember
exactly how many clicks and we don't
have the other graph here so you'll just
have to trust that there was some
increase and clicks over the three-month
period as well which there was I mean we
know that from the traffic which we can
see very easily right here so that's
where we're standing with the edge site
case study and for the people that just
hopped on quick note the quick summary
is this is the latest earnings report
here for November and if I haven't made
the updates on niche site project yet
but if you go to a niche site project
comm slash ASCS you will be able to see
the
no it's basically it's rhinos there's no
narrative in there I kind of just lay
out the bullet points once I get a
little further along I'll probably put
more of a narrative around it but it's
just been a quick way to deliver
information helpful I hope to people out
there so I do see a few questions about
the case study here so I'm gonna hop
back on the full screen and answer those
questions and for the again for the
people that just hopped on we're talking
about the age cite case study and we
will also talk about the key word golden
ratio I've added some content over on a
niche site project we'll also look at
the earnings report from Ron Stefanski
over one hour professor and will talk
about growing a site just briefly I'm
just curious where people are at and the
interest level in like increasing the
revenue and traffic on your site and
then last John Dykstra over at fat
stacks blog and his earning report in
October so I believe there are links in
the description for the two earnings
reports so if you need to you know jet
come back to it later you can have a
look there
and by the way for the people that are
watching on replay leave a comment if
you have any questions let us know may
not be able to reply to all of them but
we can I read them all I read them all
so alright and thanks to all the
moderator type folks out there keepin
keep an order in the chat I know that I
can know that there's a lot of you know
just opportunities to send links and
point people in the right direction so I
appreciate that
and Anthony is saying my camera is
shaking a little bit all right I'll try
not to it's on my it's a webcam on my
desk and it kind of moves a little bit
when I use the mouse so all right I'm
going through I know I saw some
questions on the aged psyche aside
so Damien says how many articles are on
the site and what's the average word
count I think there's there's between
like seventy and ninety articles I don't
remember exactly but about that seventy
to ninety what's up
Adrian Adrian Zhaan TIF is on to next to
do trying to get to the questions
I think someone asks oh the length of
the articles around I think on average
it's probably about thirteen hundred
words or so on average but that means
some of them are about a thousand and
some of them are probably three thousand
so it depends how many articles are
being released per month so zero but in
the month after I got the site I
published about 50 articles so if you
want to average it out you can but I
don't really do a you know X number of
articles per month
I don't do an X number of Link's per
month or anything like that I just kind
of gradually add more as far as the link
building budget I don't have a specific
budget for link building but in the
first six months my budget it was it was
sort of loose but my budget was around
twelve to fifteen thousand dollars and I
there are a few videos where I outline
in a detailed way where the money was
being spent where I spent it and then
basically because I published a lot of
content I was just going to use the rest
of the budget for link building
activities and as I mentioned before
it's very expensive to use a guest
posting service versus and it's slower
by the way so I've been doing some other
work with link building doing some tests
and I was able to get 10x the number of
links for
like 1/10 of the price it's kind of
insane
and as I was going through and I'm like
me and I should have should have nots I
mean you know what I could change the
case study and say you know what it
it's too expensive to buy links so you
just got to do it by here but here's the
news flash out there it's either gonna
be really expensive or you have to know
the system to execute on otherwise it's
gonna take you a really long time and or
be expensive if you try and do it
yourself and frustrating I've done this
for a long time so I kind of have my
head around it all right any other
questions of the any other questions on
age psych case study Oh an Adrian says
have I shared this site publicly or well
will I ever share it sorry if I already
have Adrian no I haven't shared it I
probably will never share it publicly
because of the negative s you know I
know other people share their stuff but
basically I have been screwed so many
times by other people and it doesn't
prevent people from messing with the
site but it does make it more difficult
and I'm not planning on it unless
there's some like huge compelling reason
but you know what I just can't imagine
that there I can't imagine a reason to
do it so alright moving on thanks
everyone for hopping on I'm just trying
to see if there's any questions that are
actually relevant to what we're talking
about today all right so I know Marty
asked a question like really early about
some site ground hosting so I'll answer
that one because you came on early Marty
or Monty sorry
when using site ground hosting do you
link with CloudFlare for speed and free
sell me personally I don't use
CloudFlare no and I don't use CloudFlare
for free SSL I think I pay for SSL and
then I use a different CDN I used a
different CDN just because of the the
time when I signed up I think I tried
CloudFlare and I was having some issues
with it so I used another company all
right cool
so let's move on to the other thing that
I was going to talk about so the keyword
golden ratio I see some people were
asking questions about that so I sent
out an email on Monday and if you're not
on my email list you should probably
sign up niche site project comm click
the green button enter your name and
email us and do all the templates you'll
get emails from me pointing you in the
right direction for interesting articles
that are helpful and also you'll get
emails like I sent out this Friday and
this Monday about just current current
things that are going on
and you should sign up I think I think
it's a good list to be on so the kgr is
a concept that I created and when I
first actually I wasn't going to like
release the like formula and I was just
gonna have it in my course and in fact I
didn't publish anything about the
keyword golden ratio into some until
like six months after I released my
course five figure a niche site which
was about a year after I first tested
the kgr concept so I was just keeping it
inside my course for about six months
and then I was like you know what I'm
just gonna put it out there I keep
hearing people or like if you if you
give away your best idea for free then
you can get a lot more trust of course
you know no one pays attention at first
in fact a lot of people were just like
that's not going to work blah blah blah
and then people
started trying it and over the course of
like three years people generally trust
that it works there's just too much
evidence showing that it works so anyway
I released it and I published a blog
post on niche site project pretty short
I think I just had like maybe 400 words
in like the video where I talked about
the key word golden ratio from actually
it was from inside the course then over
time I created more content about the
key word golden ratio added a few more
videos but still there were only about
500 words on that page so fast forward I
had you know hundred plus comments on
that page and earlier this year I wrote
a guest post for kW finder main gules
tools over there so if you Google
Keyword golden ratio you will notice
that I probably am not ranking number
one anymore because my guest posts that
I wrote outranks my own original content
on the idea it turns out I wrote a
really good guest post and it was way
better than my original content so even
though I have way more links than that
page then basically basically I was like
I'm losing traffic now from my guest
post now luckily everything points back
to me except for the bastards out there
that have just like taken the keyword
golden ratio and then they talk about it
and they never link back to my original
content which is this kind of a dick
move but who cares about those people
but I am improving the kgr content I
published new content there and then I
also have a full FAQ section so if you
have a look which I think I put a link
in the description but if not you could
find it if you're interested anyway you
can see all the content that is added
and I mean honestly I went back to the
guest post that I wrote and I
is reviewing the sections and realizing
hey well this is a lot more thought-out
I spent a lot more time on it and that's
why it's ranking number one so anyway
I'm trying to reclaim my throne at the
number one spot for the keyword golden
ratio so hopefully hopefully it'll come
around my my page does have a lot more
links than the guest post that I wrote
but anyway Mike's computer tips is on
what's going on you're new and I Derek
says the kgr for a new site got you up
to 500 dollars a month and you're going
to try to increase it this month and you
want to talk off the air later cool
that's awesome Derek really awesome let
us know if like how old's the site if
you can tell us like how many posts that
you've published and that sort of thing
very very cool okay so that is a little
story on the kgr and if you are
interested in like asking more questions
maybe have your having your question
answer on my FAQ for the keyword golden
ratio you can ask in the comments I may
not see in the chat since it kind of
flies away into the world but if you
come back later or if you're watching
the replay you can't ask a question I
ask people to email me questions and
there are there are many many questions
about the keyword golden ratio my my big
advice is just try it a lot of people
are nervous to get started they're like
well how long should the content be how
many times should I use the keyword and
there's a lot of details that I mean I
do answer those questions on the FAQ so
you could go have a look peruse those
questions but the big thing is like just
taking some action once you get started
you can adjust along the way and you'll
be alright when you're just waiting or
trying to you know publish the perfect
piece of content it's never going to be
perfect by the way and then you're just
gonna drive yourself crazy because
you're you're like you're going to
deepen like little areas that don't
matter
most of this stuff like it hardly
matters
so all right I'm gonna skip ahead to the
wrong I'm not skipping ahead I mean
we're just we're moving on to some of
the stuff Ron so Ron Stefanski over that
one our professor very good friend of
mine we we mastermind together so we've
been chatting for probably like I guess
at this point like 18 months but I've
known this guy I guess since 2014 or so
and I saw he like was blogging and
published income reports and here's the
cool thing his first income report that
he published which is still out there he
lost about fourteen hundred dollars
something like that and he has been
published an income report every single
month since the end of 2014 and it
started had negative 1,400 and it's
slowly grown I don't think there's any
point in time where I like jumped like
that a huge amount but it's slowly
growing almost every single month in an
October he hit like record profits and
record revenue as well so let me let me
play a clip here from Ron like I said
we're pretty good friends so I was like
hey buddy can you just send me send me a
video a little intro for talking about
your stuff Doug what is up my brother I
just want to give you a quick update on
my income report this month before I do
talita beautiful little petunia here and
we've also got our Christmas decorations
up but anyway the income report this
month was really good great month
overall is my second best month of all
time just over eighteen and a half
thousand I think is what the profit was
but there was a little bit of turbulence
I know that there was the Burt update
and some other things that had happened
in November and my main website got hit
so you can learn more about it within
the income report post itself but as
usual everyone hello hope you're doing
well and if you have any questions or
comments go ahead and leave them in the
comments here for for Doug with his
YouTube channel and maybe I'll be able
to get featured back in thanks
all right so thanks run for sending that
in and if you do have any questions for
Ron you can leave them in the comments
again I know we have a chat going on and
the live people are on I appreciate you
being on live and everything but it'll
be great to have a run back on the show
just talk about things but here are his
income reports and like I said there's a
link in the description so you could
check these out in the future just
remember that they're here and as I
mentioned in the beginning he lost close
to 1500 so it was close and now he's
doing really well so as I mentioned he
in October hit record revenue so 28k
pulled in pretty I mean the expenses are
relatively you know lean from a you know
business standpoint for an online
business you know he's he's spending a
decent amount and you can see like his
expenses went up a pretty significant
amount from like September and August
actually like leading up right his
expenses are lower but he's like
investing in some things now the cool
part if you go check out will just go to
October since that's the record month
alright and you can see that there's a
ad here first of all that's a little
little free ad action going on but he
goes pretty in-depth I mean this is a
very long post he gives a little
personal update and that sort of thing
he and he does give all the expenses
that's another important part so he
talks about all the expenses and exactly
what they are and when you calculate out
as he did here the profit you know is
twenty thousand three hundred and
seventy four dollars which is six
hundred and fifty seven dollars per day
so pretty impressive he's doing a great
job
any cool thing you know I talked about
affiliate marketing and Amazon sites
mostly but Ron is kind of a specialist
over in the display ads area which John
Dykstra is
Wow so I'm not gonna read this whole
thing out or scroll all the way down but
just want to show a couple of the graphs
here so this is the 36 month sort of
trending line here and you could excuse
me you could see that you know it's
pretty impressive growth when you look
at this stretch of time here just
constantly going up the graph scale is
sort of narrow so it makes it look like
it's going up like pretty pretty high
you know Ron knows how to design a graph
so it looks great but basically he's
doing well so I encourage you to check
out his stuff and like I said he's doing
display ads not Amazon sites and some I
mean people talk about Amazon sites all
the time I do it's kind of in our little
world here but the thing is not only can
you do something different and be really
successful you can also like sort of
stack some of these ideas together so
you can put ads on your Amazon affiliate
site or if you have an ad based site and
you generally have been publishing
content that is informational based not
really product focused you can probably
find some products that have affiliate
offers and you can potentially make
money from affiliate offers so oh and I
see Matt Crowell is on what's going on
that's cool good to see you buddy and
let's see here and I think Matt's also
in the Atlanta area I'm doing a meet-up
in a couple weeks so maybe you can join
in I think we'll have a couple folks
around we may have a good we may have a
good crew all right so let's let's look
at one other clip over from Ron just for
the folks that maybe missed the
interview with him a couple months ago
and I want you to get to know him a
little better all right I'm struggling
with my software here but we got a
queued up and this is from a little
further back when Ron was making about
17 K per month so he's obviously grown a
little bit and he talks a little bit
about the 4-hour workweek here so let's
run this clip
so and I actually I had to look because
as we're talking about those so last
month March of 2019 this is why I like
my income reports by the way March of
2019 it actually brought in seventeen
thousand six dollars and seventy nine
cents that's one but if you're asking
how much time I spent on that or I spent
on that website it's shameful how little
time I spend on it and I really mean
that I spend the least amount of time on
that website than I do any of my others
without a doubt one thing one caveat to
that I've recently been going back we've
talked about this I've recently been
going back and revising some articles on
that website because I felt like some of
the articles were low or they were they
were old they were losing ranking a
little bit so I've revised them to bring
them back up and that works so so well
by the way if you're an individual
facing that like some of these articles
were two years old never touched them so
I've been doing that but yeah that's
that's like yeah that's that's most of
it but like the amount of times I spend
honestly like the 4-hour workweek is a
real thing with that website like maybe
even less than four hours a week and I'm
not I'm not kidding when I say that like
it's actually shocking how low like how
little but like you know it's taken me a
long time to get there and I built out a
lot of stuff along the way and I always
try to build stuff to where I build it
once it's there and it's good I love
evergreen content I don't like having to
update all the time so that's how I run
my business and that's worked so okay
and I I knew you were gonna answer that
even though we've never talked about it
before but that is kind of how it goes
so you and I are both busy bodies as
well right so we have good work ethic
and we couldn't like even if we were
only spending three or four hours on
like our main site we would still like
make up other projects which we do in
other sites and end up wasting eighty
percent of our time on some other
I was like would we could be
you know doing something fun yeah yeah
yeah you know at the end of the day and
this is the truth like because I
remember people were asking me how I
said I want to I want to go back to the
questions because I remember some of the
questions were related how did I stay
motivated when I was with an employer
and I seriously was working 80 90 hours
a week between all the different things
because again I remember I was I had a
full-time job I was
you get to different colleges and I was
getting my doctorate at one point while
I was doing this don't ever make excuses
like that is brutal that is brutal for
anyone like I seriously got six hours of
sleep at night but how did I see
motivated it was really simple at that
point when I was at a full-time job I
would have to commute an hour to work
every day commute i back an hour and I
would have to deal with a you know a
boss telling me what I had to do it just
worked me because I was like you know I
was really into marketing and you know
what I wanted to do and I really wanted
to help people and make a difference I
wasn't doing that at my job so it was
like that frustration like when I'd have
a bad day at work it was the best day
for my website because I'd go home and I
would work so hard for like six hour you
know I didn't have a family or anything
either like now I'm married but I don't
have kids yet so that's that's a benefit
but like I always stuck by the thing of
you have to do at least one hour a day
of work always Monday through Sunday at
least one hour a day and usually you
find out that on the weekends you spend
more time but like if you don't have
that drive in that passion like it's
gonna be hard to succeed so when I
started it was that and then how do I
still stay motivated now it's easy I
don't like obviously like the money is
great and it's it's like awesome like
it's crazy even I never ever ever would
have thought that I got to where I am
right now but like I don't know I just I
like building businesses like I I'm
confident that if I if I win the lottery
tomorrow and 100 million dollars yes I
travel and give away money but uh but
when I got done with all that and I came
back to reality I'm confident I would
build a website that wasn't focused on
monetizing anything and just give people
information to help them that's what I
would do because that's just what I
enjoy doing I like growing a business I
like thinking of a business in my head
growing it and then knowing you know it
gets hundred fifty to hundred thousand
views a month that's super cool to me
just just that right there so yeah but
that's how I stay motivated now it's
like money isn't that much of an issue
and I had a crisis when I started to
make I think it was I think it was
fifteen thousand a month when I was hit
met in revenue that was a crisis for me
I don't know if you ever had that Doug
but like for me that was really tough
because it was like I hit my goal and I
was like now I have the money that I was
supposed to be happy with and I had that
money and it was like cool but as like
wool now what you know like that was
like the thing it was like now what I
hit my goal and I'm like well I guess
20,000
month but who really cared you know like
it wasn't about the money anymore so I
just I just have that drive of building
things and I enjoy building bigger and
bigger and bigger like I don't have a
plan for a grand exit or anything it's
just just what I do so what you do yeah
I yeah I haven't had exactly the same
crisis but I've had other crises yeah
yeah okay and I'm gonna go through a
couple of the questions from Beauty
reporters who sent it in and I just kept
asking questions before I got to hers or
his but how many articles do you publish
each month across all your sites we'll
just say if you have that across all my
sites is a tough one that you're
probably looking at across all sites
right now I'd say probably around 50 to
60 across all the website while websites
usually like Mike my main website the
rule of thumb I had since like forever
has been three every single week that
was like what I did so about 12 a month
that was like what I did and done and I
you know I don't know if there's truth
to the fact that like Google likes it if
you keep submitting content and your
websites active I don't know if that's
true or not I took it back you know
Google probably wants me to keep
updating stuff so hey I'll just do that
but yeah like 12 a month there but like
some of the websites like the website
and building right now it's ten a week
you know so it just depends on where the
website is and it's in its life you know
the whole trajectory of it right and
I've I've gone through periods where I
publish you know 60 articles a month for
several months and then don't publish
anything for like multiple years yeah
and this person also asked about how
many words each article so roughly about
a thousand but if it needs to be longer
or shorter it will be yeah it depends on
the content like to answer a question
750 to a thousand I think is pretty
reasonable but if you're writing a
review type thing it could be 2025 it
just depends on what the content is and
what the users intent is do they need
something that's really really in-depth
really think about it if you research it
you need that so it just depends
all right and that was Ron Stefanski my
good buddy over there so there's a link
in the description you could check out
his latest earning report and I see we
got about 15 minutes left so I'm gonna
try and go a little faster try and wrap
it up I might not play all the clips
that I was gonna play I do see a
question in here from Josh Brown who's a
longtime longtime viewer so I'll answer
this question here because I think it I
think well I don't know just caught my
attention even though I don't I'll just
read it out and then I'll answer the
question
right so Josh says how does one get to
100k per month so first off I'm not
qualified to answer that because I'm not
making 100k per month so that's number
one number two I would ask you why do
you want or think you need 100k per
month because for me that sounds like a
nightmare you know you kind of should
have an idea like how much you want to
make and then kind of figure out why but
if you're just trying to get to 100k per
month it's not super like motivating I
believe you probably just want to make
more money but from like when I think
about okay what would I need to do to
get to a 100 K per month most likely I
would have to hire a few more people and
have a team around me and have some
managers working with me directly and
then managing the teams and it sounds
like my old job and I don't really want
to do that so what I like to do instead
is whatever I want which is it
means you don't want to have people
working for you that are waiting for you
to instruct them on what to do now it
doesn't mean I do a little bit more you
know down down in the dirt I'm in the
ditch you know doing work I'm like
editing my own podcast editing some my
own videos but I don't I don't feel the
need to like hire a bunch of people and
I had a conversation with a good friend
of mine who's doing really well he's
growing his business a ton and he
something like 20 people working on his
team and he's slightly stressed out
about keeping them busy and he that you
know he doesn't want to lay anyone off I
mean they're on payroll and everything
and then he has some freelancers too so
he doesn't want to like dismantle the
team and having like just the stress
just having the stress of like making
sure they have enough work kind of is it
worth it to me right so just hearing him
talk about it I realized oh yeah like I
am making the right decision because
there's like some I mean there's some
piece where it's like you need to always
keep growing and if you're not growing
is stagnant and then you're like you
know potentially gonna be declining and
I don't want to do that I'm trying to do
like some different things that are
interesting to me or you know should be
shifting and trying to learn more bla
bla bla but overall I'm like why do you
need a hundred K now the thing that I do
know is that so hundred K per month so
let's say you know maybe this is a good
quote uh like Ron and I can go to John
who are you know publishing their income
reports like alright what are you gonna
do run to 5x your your income and how
long do you think it'll take and I have
a feeling Ron probably doesn't want to
have a ton of people working working for
him either I mean he's a he's a great
outsourcer he has a few people that he
does work with but you know he doesn't
want to have a whole orange chart
underneath of him that just does not
sound very fun so anyway you to make the
leap to 100k most likely you would need
to either like hire someone who can run
a multi-million dollar who has gone
through that growth period or either get
coached or have a mentor to take you
through like some of the challenges
because there's gonna be things that
you're not even thinking about at that
point so there's there's probably
there's probably a lot to it like I said
I'm unqualified
to answer that question but I I have a
feeling like that would probably be
really important to have someone coach
you and kind of like show you the ropes
you could figure it out on your own of
course it would be a little bit more
sloppy but alright and Danish was asking
a few questions about the ez Azon plugin
