I'm going to show you how you can build
an email marketing workflow or
automation it's called in two different
ways depending on the email marketing
alt responder software or tool that you
are using so basically in this video I
am going to show you step by step
tutorial how you can automate your email
autoresponder sequence so it will be
sent out to your email subscribers
depending on the actions or your email
subscribers depending on the triggers so
I will show you everything from the
inside of the dashboard of the email
ultra sponder software that I personally
use is called get response it's super
beginner friendly and at the same time
it provides you with additional
functionality if in case if you are an
additional tools for automation and CRM
system and other tools to run your
business online or offline so without
taking too much of your time let's jump
right to the dashboard of get response
and start this tutorial so after you log
into your get response account you will
arrive to the dashboard which will look
promise this way they recently updated
their software and you know kind of
reconfigured a couple of things it might
look a little bit different if you will
be watching this video but later and
there and they introduced by that moment
some additional things and you know I
changed kind of designed a little bit
but the general idea is going to be the
same in case if you don't have get

after you logged into this account all I
have to do is just click on the menu and
choose automation then you will get
transferred to this window and you will
see here two tabs manage workflows and
automation messages you have to go not
to create workflow but you have to click
automation messages and right here you
have to create drafts first of all you
have to create emails that you're going
to send with your email automation so
I'm not going to create multiple emails
I'm going to create just one just to
test to test it out and show you the
concept the principle of this whole
system how it works because if I'm going
to create multiple emails it will take
too much of your time in this video so
let's just create email one and with
subject one and here I will put subject
one after that you just have to click
next step and you have to choose the
template I don't recommend you to use
any of these templates we don't need any
of these HTML so I recommend you to use
or start from scratch or use my
templates I already have my templates
and I use those templates that I created
and saved as templates in case if you're
just starting out let's just start from
scratch so you can see yourself how this
process looks like you don't need any
complications any any of that as well
and I recommend you to start with the
blank template why I don't like using a
HTML and like all those complications a
lot of pictures and stuff because the
more HTML tags
there are inside of your email and the
more pictures throughout the the less
deliverability is so I recommend you to
set to create emails just as if you were
writing an email to your friend you
don't create an HTML HTML designed
emails with a lot of pictures and and
special design of your brand when you're
writing email to your friend right so
you're just writing just like a text
message so you have to have this kind of
approach exactly when you're sending
when you're creating emails to your
email subscribers because you want to
build a good relationship with your
email subscribers just like as if they
were your friends so just click here and
the drag it's pretty simple is drag and
drop so you can if you need an image to
input but I don't recommend you you just
click here image block of them text and
then it's gonna be text here as an image
there then then text here as well but
we're going to delete these two and we
are going to keep just the text I like
to press ENTER multiple times just to
have a little bit more space because I
feel claustrophobic one there's just
like no space built below the other
taxes kinda weird so this is the sample
of the text and the URL as well
hyperlink and here you can adjust I
recommend that I just that all the
settings so I recommend you to change
the font or maybe you can keep Arial
it's not that bad I don't recommend to
use any of these or times I recommend
you to use either Tahoma
or Helvetica I like Helvetica actually
Georgia might be a good solution
actually
maradona as well it's kind of cool so
you just let's keep Helvetica just you
know choose the one that you personally
like and feel as if your audience would
like as well I recommend you to increase
the font size or I prefer to keep it a
little bit bigger and maybe spacing a
little bit bigger as well between the
lines because when it's stuffed
doesn't look attractive either we don't
need any titles here we just need you
know hi for example personalization if
you collect names then you want to input
first name then it's going to be
high-end
first name inserted exactly as you in
the subscriber filled out the form when
they subscribe to email list then blah
blah blah blah blah text and and thus it
and then talk soon
or is totally up to you how to write
this email this video tutorial is not
about writing the emails it's about
automation so after you finish preparing
your email then I recommend you to first
save as template then you will be able
to go to those my template tab and
choose this email as a template and all
people have to do is just replace this
text with in other text and all the
settings will be saved right away and
then you want to save as draft as soon
as you save as draft just click shutdown
right here and okay and your email draft
is ready I recommend you to actually
create all the drafts all the emails
that you want to include into your email
automation because it it will make your
life easier and now you will know why
let's get back to automation and now we
start creating our automation from
scratch so we have to click this bubble
create workflow and again you have some
automation templates that we actually
don't want to use and all we have to do
is just click build from scratch right
here and click the button starts now
first of all you want to name the
automation let's say test one it's also
up to you how you are going to
name the automation it doesn't really
matter just make sure that you know what
that automation is about so we can call
this automation test automation 1 then
start the process when someone
subscribes clicks a link opens a message
if you're just starting out and if you
starting building your list with your
opt-in form with your squeeze page
landing page you know then you want to
take this one so I want someone
subscribes this means that as yeah you
have to choose the list when someone
subscribes to a particular list you just
double click right here choose a list
you can choose any or specific any I
don't recommend that because one email
autoresponder one get response account
is for all sorts of lists that you will
be using for example I have lists in my
money's awesome project I have list in
my Russian language project I have
listen chameleons as best project and I
have all the lists right here inside one
my one single account of get response so
if I keep any then people who will
subscribe to chameleons as best they
will be added to this automation or if
they subscribe to my Russian kind of
email list they will get inside these
automation as well so it's kind of
ridiculous to be honest so I always
recommend to choose specific and then
choose the list let's have it
for example chameleons as pets so what
we did right here as soon as someone
subscribes to my chameleons as pets in
the list they will get inside of this
automation we you have to tab right here
and now we have to go to add elements
then
we have to send a message we connect
like that and also you want to choose a
message now we go to drafts as I was
saying to you that's why we created that
draft message and we choose this email
one subject one message then creak click
apply and the city soon some of someone
subscribes to your email list - my list
comedians as press they will receive
this image this message this message
will be sent out to them I like to
choose the colors I like to keep sending
message green color then after they this
message is sent out what we want to do
is whether or not message is open this
is so-called
trigger and again we have to specify
which message because if any message
then any message that you sent out will
trigger this next step you have to
choose right here on the right side
choose automation and choose specific
and choose this very message then after
that I recommend you to add wait for one
day in case if they open the message and
I like to wait for one day
mark in yellow color just it for me you
can choose any other colors or you can
even don't necessarily choose any colors
at all it's all up to you so what this
wait for one day means after they
receive no after this first message is
sent to them I put this trigger if they
opened up email they can actually open
that email right away so like five
minutes later after this first message
is sent out and our next step is going
to be send the second message
send the second message and let's
imagine that the second message is email
number two with subject line one and
then if they open this this message five
minutes after they receive that message
then if this wait for one day was not
here then they would the second message
message would be sent out to them right
away
and they would be receiving the next
message right after they opened the
previous one so it's kind of stupid
right if you have in your sequence of
let's say ten messages then they will be
able to receive all ten messages within
two hours if they are opening those
right away after they receive that so to
avoid that to avoid this kind of spammy
way of sending all the messages right
away you have to put this kind of wait
for one day even as soon as they opened
your first email they are waiting for
one day and the second message is being
sent to them and in case if they didn't
open this second message then you can
put right here email one with subject to
it's going to be the same email body the
same content but with a different
subject line because basically subject
line of your emails is the main reason
why people are opening or not opening
your emails and different people react
on different titles for example for some
people it will be important set the
wording that you put into the title but
for other people they will consider that
as waste of time and irrelevant
information this way you have to play
around with titles and find different
approaches different angles because one
and the same email can be called can
have different subject lines relevant to
to the body of like of your email to the
content that you're sending so in case
if they haven't opened that first email
you
send the same email with subject - with
different title and right here right
here you can set up right here in the
settings for example when to assume the
condition wasn't met so when to assume
they haven't opened up email you can put
even three five days or maybe even two
hours if is something urgent so if you
put two hours II then it will be
considered that they haven't opened that
email in two hours
but if you put three days then the
system will wait for three days until
they open this email or not open and if
in three days they didn't open the email
then this this message will be sent to
them that's why we don't need to put
this step wait for one day for with any
any kind of way because here assume that
they never opened this first email
that's why we're sending the second
email with a different subject I hope
you get the idea
now let's assume that this is the end of
the automation and all you wanted to do
is just to send these emails embassy we
can actually mark these in green color
just to make it beautiful yeah what you
can do right here at the very end so
first option you can leave it as it is
without doing anything but the second
option that I like to do is to put the
tag to put the tag to mark people that
they completed this automation just
double click right here and select the
tag create a tag and our automation was
called test automation one you just have
to you cannot use spaces here add tag
and the same so as soon as someone
completes this automation they will get
tagged by this time and
that what you can do you can for example
create another automation or leave it
like that if you don't have the
automation still but if you have the
automation another automation where you
want to pass to move your subscribers to
then you can click you can choose move
to workflow right here just put it like
that and you choose another workflow and
then continue choosing in which workflow
you want to move your subscribers why I
like automations first of all a trigger
system as I showed you that in case if
your email subscribers don't open the
emails then you can make multiple
attempts to send to them I also speaking
right now I'm using just two attempts I
don't I mean the first one and the
second one I don't use three attempts
anymore because it's not very good for
deliverability and it's not very good to
your email subscribers maybe they never
you know maybe they are not interested
in what you're sending and I just remove
my email subscribers that subscribe to
my email and haven't opened a single
email within the last two months or so
and endless it why I like the second
reason why I like email automation
because you can play around so when you
for example create email autoresponder
you put one email every day for example
if your plan to send every single day
you those emails but then if you want to
modify your email sequence if you want
to move them to another kind of sequence
or anything then it's like you also it's
a lot of hassle and it's really
inconvenient and you cannot even add an
email in between those emails of that
autoresponder sequence it's really
inconvenient and I didn't really liked
it because I couldn't modify because I
was testing a lot I was sent like I'm
testing a lot of emails
a lot of approaches and I ended up using
automation I'm really happy about it
because for example my main automation
is my free affiliate marketing course
that we can actually access by following
the link below this year as well and
after my subscribers finish that email
that affiliate marketing course then I
can choose where to move them what
sequence to continue for example I can
send more about paid traffic I can send
more about blogging I can send more
about SEO or change their the order of
these sequences and so on so forth
I can test their our things and see what
is more relevant to my subscribers so
this is very important and I believe
that everybody should start with email
automation instead of wood responders so
