millions of views of YouTube videos and
all that and I have to save my person
perspective and from my personal
experience and from what I see as well
from my kind of research is that those
advices the majority of those advices
are based on the old algorithm of
YouTube the thing is that over the
course of last year of not 2018 but it
started changing heavily in 2017 and in
turns 18 it continued changing the
algorithm of YouTube and if you compare
YouTube for example the beginning of
2017 or and before like 2016 and even
before and now
the current state of YouTube is
completely two different platforms you
cannot compare them and the algorithm of
YouTube works in a totally different way
and the kind of manipulations that
worked and techniques and you know those
kind of growth hacks that worked on
YouTube in 2017 and before they do not
work anymore as a proof of that I can
say for example there are some courses
on how to do affiliate marketing with
YouTube I'm not gonna like call out
those people or names or anything they
still deliver value and you know and I'm
sure that those courses worth the money
that they that they're selling for but
at the same time there are a lot of
speculations and advices that do not
work anymore and people are still
following them and doing them but in
reality is like waste of time you know
instead of that you would be better off
creating an additional couple of videos
instead of doing that kind of
manipulation that they advising so as a
proof of what I'm saying is the channels
of those people their own channels that
they use as their personal brand if you

media tracking and statistics of
subscribers views and engagement all
that stuff you can even find my channel
you can find any any other channel that
you can see so if you go to social blade
and search for channels of those people
who are selling these kind of courses
and recommend you these kind of
manipulations and growth hacks that they
used to use in 2017 and before you will
see that even their channels went down
heavily so I believe that they used to
use these kind of growth hacks with
their channels as well I'm not talking
about buying views or buying subscribers
or buying comments I'm not talking about
blackhat kind of stuff I'm talking about
the legit manipulations like for example
building some kind of like backlinks to
the videos or embed in various social
media platforms or ad as how to say as a
bookmark for example or share in social
media platforms and all that you know is
kind of legit stuff and in some cases it
can help but not as before before as
soon as you share like you upload the
video and share in as many websites as
you could you were kind of taking the
advantage of the algorithm and YouTube
would love your video because it goes
shared really fast and on so many
different websites then YouTube were
kind of liking your videos and more
likely to boost to the top places of
search results and also we're suggesting
to like showing you videos in suggested
videos and mentioned home page and so on
so forth but these days it does not work
well even if it does it's the result is
so insignificant so it's just not worth
doing I experimented me personally I
went on Fiverr and bought a couple of
gigs with one of the videos that I
created for one of my affiliate
marketing projects and I created that
video kind of you know the coordinate
like according to or keyword research
and I uploaded and the competition is
not that high I uploaded that video and
I paid I both like two three gigs on
embedding videos on various platforms
and sharing video on various social
media platforms and you know this kind
of stuff that used to work before and I
had zero results like zero absolutely
zero results I didn't get additional
views I didn't get any boost for my
video and
I got the report I could check that my
video was bookmarked and shared indeed
on those platforms and websites that the
seller was promising me so everything
was legit the work was done but it did
not work yes but at the same time a lot
of people still recommend to do it in
order to boost the videos so now let's
get to two things that define the
success of the of your videos so
basically depending on these two factors
depends the success of your videos so
the first one is thumbnails thumbnails
not even thumbnails but click-through of
your videos so thumbnails is some it's
like a phase of your video and it's
basically a picture of the video that
you see before you start washing you
know it's an image that you're uploading
and it's like a cover of your video and
you have to create the most economic the
most attractive maybe really dark and
ugly but as long as it makes people
attract their attention to your video
and click it you're good to go
it doesn't have to be fancy doesn't have
to be stylish it has to be kind of like
it has to make other people click your
video and YouTube pays attention to the
click-through rate click-through rate is
basically the ratio between how many
people saw your video saw your thumbnail
of your video and how many of those who
saw your video actually clicked to your
video to watch it so if they for example
showed you video to 100 people and only
10 people out to 100 clicked your video
your click-through rate is 10% so the
higher the click-through rate is the
better for you for your video because
YouTube's algorithm pays attention to
that and they will more likely to offer
your video to others and the factor
number 2 is
Stan so wash time it there are actually
two indicators that YouTube please
attention to and the first one is
accumulated worst - it's pure watch time
of your videos and on of your channel
and there is also kind of percentage of
video watched so for example if your
video is only full minutes long and on
average people are spending two minutes
to watch a video like the damn washing
only two minutes of your video so in
this case the video watched percentage
will be 50% and you want to have both of
them watch time accumulation and the
percentage of video watched to the
maximum whether they're the bigger the
better and for this reason you have to
make sure that you deliver quality
content you deliver the best possible
way to keep people engaged and kind of
wanting to watch until the end so if you
will be doing your best in these two
factors the thumbnail and watch time
you'll be good to go also my personal
suggestion to you is keyword research do
your keyword research and should you use
for the keywords that people are
searching for because if you will be
naming run like your videos randomly are
nothing attention to keyword research
you're losing the views you're losing
the subscribers so it's better to do
keyword research and see what people
actually want to watch and create videos
