format or trying something a little bit
different I'm gonna try to make sure I

today we're gonna be doing things a
little bit differently than how I've
done live streams before so number one
be patient with me I'm gonna struggle a
little bit probably here hopefully
things are gonna go okay but we're gonna
have specific topics that we're going to
talk about and it looks like we got a
few people in the chat here we have
master we have so I'll just I'm gonna
struggle with names quite a bit Richard
I don't know that one
cook cook the books alright cool so we
guess a few people in there hopefully
you can hear me Jeremy's on as well so
like I said we got a few topics for
today that we're going to cover so we're
going to talk about the Aged site case
study and I find myself struggling to
actually confirm if people can hear me
so let me know in the chat there could
be a little bit of a delay here and I'm
just searching around

topics I'm going to share some of the
most recent earnings for the Aged got
the site case study and then I'm gonna
talk about links a little bit share some
of the areas that are some of the
services that I've been getting a links
from and then I'm gonna I'm gonna share
going to show you a new marketplace out
there some people may have heard of it
but you can buy sites at a much cheaper
price than
the more established marketplaces out
there like Empire flippers or Fe
internationals that sort of thing so
yeah these are much cheaper sites and
some of my friends put out some of the
or created this site so with that said
let's start getting into the material
here and I'm going to try and use this
software like I said first time around
it's um it's a little different and I'm
still trying to navigate here so thank
you for your patience so we're gonna try
and share the screen here all right so I
think this is working okay there's a lot
of stuff on my screen so it's hard for
me to get to what I need to get to here
but the cool thing is I'll be able to
share some of the analytics out there so
this is for the Aged site case study if
you're unfamiliar with that case study
then I'll just summarize really quickly
I bought a site from human proof designs
and I am outsourcing basically all of
the work to be done I haven't even read
all the content in fact I need to read
more of the content because I think I
probably can't improve quite a bit of it
I got it back in June I promptly went on
vacation for about a month and a lot of
work was done while I was gone I was
sort of off the grid so you can see
traffic here is on the uptick there's no
like major like huge growth areas but
it's generally moving up all right it's
generally moving up and that's a good
thing of course a quick note if you want
to get more information you can go to

then you'll have like all my wrong notes
so there's no like huge blog post about
this yet it's kind of just the process
and some of the services that I've used
which we're going to talk more about
today so let's see we got even more
folks on here which is pretty cool

the way so let's go to the next screen
and we'll see a little bit more growth
even so this is October compared to the
previous 30 days you can see 17.8 1%
growth there's a few things happening
here right and it's hard to pinpoint
exactly what is going on which is ok I
mean we're most of the time when you're
working on a site you're doing multiple
things hopefully multiple positive
things that end up like helping things
out hey Georgie
so you can't really pinpoint like what
exactly is helping your site grow so in
this case while I was on vacation I had
like 50 articles published so that's
going to help bring in more traffic in a
general sense additionally I have six
guest posts that I've published right on
other sites to get some links going to
the site and I'm going to share some of
the details around that where I got the
links the metrics of those links where
the links are going and that sort of
thing so we're going to get to that
later as well so you can see growth I
can't tell you hey this is exactly from
this is exactly from you know backlinks
or if it's from something else so all
the things together seem to be positive
so that's again that's a good thing
we'll take a quick look at the search
console data here so we can see the
total number of clicks and the total
number of impressions are again slowly
growing nothing huge here there's no
like all of a sudden you know something
happened it's just gradual this is
fairly normal every now and then you'll
see a jump there are algorithm updates
happening multiple times a year but in a
general sense like slow growth is pretty
pretty common and actually that's across
the board
slow growth is quite common
so before I hop over to the earnings
reports I'll make a couple statements
and a my clipping it looks like this
microphone may be a little hot so I'll
try not to talk so loud here
protect my voice so I'm trying to do
these live streams that many people that
are on here right now you remember I
used to do live streams once a week I
used to do them once a week for a
stretch I was doing them twice a week it
was bananas I was doing a lot of live
streams and it was really fun
it helped me like just understand what
people wanted to learn about people
would ask questions in the chat and it
was it was interesting it was a good way
to put out videos without like
overthinking it and having to spend too
much time on production which isn't a
bad thing but it's time consuming if
you're trying to do a bunch of other
you know so the live streams are
really cool definitely enjoyed it and
for a little while like you can you
could just expect me to be around on
Fridays around this time sometimes on on
Wednesdays as well it was pretty cool
but what happened over time is I got a
little burned out you know just doing
sort of the same thing over and over
again you get burned out and one thing
again many of the folks here know that I
got a lot of the same questions over and
over again which is I mean that is okay
right if someone sees one of my videos
they see that I'm live they may hop over
and they just may ask questions directly
to me even though maybe you have
answered those questions many times
before
maybe there's a video that had literally
just published on it but a viewer
wouldn't know that and I understand
however I'm just sitting here doing my
thing and it got a little boring so I
slowly tapered off I wasn't so regular I
went on vacation and then I was like
I don't know what to do now you'll
notice today it's a little bit more
structured it's not the free-for-all
questions that I used to do which feel
free to ask questions over there by the
way if you're watching the replay later
ask questions in the comments I do see
them all but sometimes it just doesn't
make sense for me to stop you know my
train of thought
answer a question that you can just look
up on your own there's some smart people
in the chat that will provide links for
you to other pieces of content or videos
or whatever that either I put out or
other people have so the the chat is
active there's very smart people out
there now what I have realized is
there's some timely information that I
would like to share but I didn't know
exactly the right way to do it so part
of it the platform for me is spread out
I have a blog I have this channel I have
a podcast and I'd like distribute the
content across the board but in general
I don't always do it and sometimes it's
not timely because there's some
scheduling aspects that I have to
consider so that means actually let me
back up before I get into that so
there's some timely stuff that I want to
share with you like these earnings
reports that I'm about to show you and
the problem is I worked ahead quite a
bit so I have videos to publish weekly
all the way all the way through like the
middle of January and they've been done
for like a month
obviously those are not going to be as
timely night I try to make things you
know more evergreen and that sort of
thing but there's some stuff that I want
to tell you about and I just didn't know
the right way to do it so I decided to
give this a shot here I have this new
software as ekm live and it seems to
work pretty well basically all right
Jase has lots of rambling come on focus
Jay get out of here man like this is why
I'm doing the video if you don't want to
watch it you can get out so basically I
want to share some timely stuff
and because I worked so far ahead I
didn't have a way to like share this
with you so that's what this is and J if
you want to find shorter videos there on
the channel so this is this is rambling
and this is what we're gonna do so
basically I think this could be a good
venue the other cool part is I can bring
guests on so I can bring on like runs to
fan ski I could bring on John Dykstra
get Spencer on here Spencer Hawes and
just other folks maybe Myles bechler
will join me sometime but I could just
do a short segment talk about a little
thing I could put in recordings that I
pre-recorded ahead of time so it'll be
shorter for impatient people like Jay
and and I think Jay thumbs down there so
yeah this is all about me
I mean that's what we're doing here so
moving on moving on here I can share
these earnings reports so basically
we're gonna see how it goes and and that
was the other thing I have to I have to
do this J for for myself too because I
basically I don't earn I don't earn much
from YouTube it's a great way to you
know share information and stuff like
that but if I'm only listening to like
what other people when I know the
audience is obviously really important
but you know for people that like
shorter videos they don't want to watch
live stuff that's totally cool
income school is great for that they
have very short type videos I think Jay
you'll probably be interested in some of
the shorter videos just on the channel
so you just have to go hunt around for
them alright moving on
let's see these earnings reports so
again this is an age cite case study and
next we got some earnings so I have a
couple couple different views here so
number one this is for the full year so
two hundred and seventy four dollars for
the full year I bought the site in like
mid June so that's why the earnings
started in June here it's just zeros all
the way leading up to that point hit a
hundred bucks in August which there were
a few big purchases and a couple things
you will notice in this graph will just
point out a couple things here so number
one you'll see that the number of
products went up a little bit in August
but you know the earnings went up to a
hundred now when you look at October
you'll see there's like twice as many
products sold
however the earnings are about fifty
bucks so you can figure out on your own
there that basically there were some
more expensive products purchased in
August why I'm not sure it's just sort
of a random like you know luck of the
draw sort of thing of whatever people
are purchasing so with that in mind you
never really know what's gonna go on now
let's drill down a little bit to the
summer quarter here so that's July
through September so you could drill
down and just see you like that quarter
a little bit more and the more recent
quarter which is we're just starting
here right so this is q4 so we're really
just looking at October here so that
this generally looks good and the best
thing the thing that I need to point out
here is November is looking really good
so November is looking really good here
because we're only a few days and this
is through the six so six days 24 bucks
it looks like there's a little bit more
consistent traffic and that sort of
things that sort of thing so that is
excellent and
and the other thing that I want to show
you is around link so we're sort of
getting into point number two bullet
number two here so the links I believe
are really important yeah I know some
people believe you should just wait for
links to come naturally but I believe
like promotion and networking however
you want to frame it is really important
all else being equal you're gonna be
better off getting some links so here's
some of the data for the links I pulled
it this morning and let's see what we
got here so six links total and you can
see the data here three are from the
Hoth and loge annex provided the other
three the costs are listed here you can
see the variety of metrics so da is
domain Authority PA is page Authority
and the trust flow TF and the C F is the
citation flow alright so you can see the
metrics I'm not going to read them all
out that'd be pretty boring and we're
gonna showcase this software a little
bit more and let's see yeah there we go
so we could even zoom in here to the
actual view and I think I I think I made
J upset so he's already gone he won't
even know or junior you're still out
there see this is the good stuff but you
have to sit through my alright
and this is a it's not a sponsored I'm
not gonna show hats here so I could cuss
it doesn't even matter alright so the
interesting thing with this situation
here is really this link right here so
it was a two hundred dollar guest
posting service over at the Hoth the
metrics are ridiculous
all right Oh Jay still is there Thank
You Jay for hanging on and I'm just
busting your balls so okay so it
is a generally right it was generally a
like sort of a low-powered like
lower-cost post so 5,000 organic
searches per month that's what this
means here and right here alright so you
can see that it was one of the cheaper
posts however the metrics were
ridiculous sometimes sometimes you end
up with that situation I'm not sure how
it worked out that way but it did you'll
notice that the Logue annex posts have a
little bit lower metrics however and
they're a little bit more expensive
however the interesting thing with Logue
annex is the level of sort of checking
and service that they give you so the
main difference between the Hoth and
Logue annex is Logue annex has a account
manager someone who is going to just
check with you right they're gonna
they're going to send you a list of
sites so for I think for each one of
these posts I had a choice of three
different sites so one of the big
complaints with guest posting services
is that you don't know where it's gonna
go you pay your money it's a lot of
money as you can see and it may end up
on a site that you don't really like but
logia next paycheck with you they say
hey here's three choices
here's choice number one we think this
one is probably the best but you know
let us know and we'll see what we can do
so they check with you they add an extra
step in there to give you more control
that cost money right so that is why
there is a difference in price I think
since I've purchased those guest posts
from Logue annex I think they've
reframed some of their offering so I
think you can like get some cheaper
options but generally the big thing the
big change and like the guest posting
world in the last I think like eight
months or so is that instead of just
selecting based on met
right you can look for her or you could
buy based on the organic traffic if a
site is getting organic traffic from
Google you can sort of decipher right
that Google likes the site and that
can't be faked
the problem with metrics is you can
manipulate them pretty easily and I've
seen this in the past I would get a
guest post I would I would check out the
the backlinks on each rafts or SEMRush
or majestic or whatever and all of a
sudden three months before I got the
guest post I would see like a huge spike
of backlinks not very good backlinks but
backlinks that would make the metrics go
up so when you when you keep that in
mind you realize that you know buying
guest post on the based on the metrics
bad way to do it organic traffic very
good way you know you're getting value
the results speak for themselves we can
take a look back at the traffic growth
right and we see the growth so you can't
argue with that it's pretty straight
forward pretty clear that that's a
better way to do it and you can see the
value so a little bit of the again a
differentiation between the Hoth and
Logue annex is log annex is going to
check with you on this specific site do
you want the guest post to go on the
Hoth you don't have that level of
control they have great customer service
and really go to cal managers and stuff
like that sometimes they really over
deliver like with this this post here
but of course you can imagine this is
expensive right this is very expensive
compared to doing it yourself however
some people have more money than time
there's a lot of folks out there with
like a full-time gig family if you're
commuting you're doing other stuff you
have hobbies whatever you just have more
money than time other people have way
more time
in in that case you know you can do this
manually do the outreach put the time in
do the networking right that's really
all you have to do all right and Chris
what's going on what's going on there
let's see Chris asks how are they
vetting the traffic estimates yep
so they are pulling information from a
drafts or some rush which while not
perfect they are you know good enough to
you know gauge the traffic so there are
some cases where maybe a site does get
organic traffic but they don't have like
really great content they just happen to
rank for a few things so those would
sort of be the edge cases I think out of
the you know six that I'm displaying
here and then I tested these services
probably several months before I bought
these links there were a couple but very
small percentage I would say like say
ten to thirty percent something like
that if I just had to guess kind of a
big range so out of ten links one out of
one two three of them or maybe on more
like content sites where they cover
general topics and maybe it wasn't
really specific to my niche but at least
it was an article that was specific to
my niche so generally these are gonna
work out pretty well so richard says
what is the anchor text that i used in
the guest posts so for the home page
links those are branded anchor text so
for example if it was a niche site
project niche site project would be the
anchor text so branded anchor text is
the home page links for the review pages
generally those are partial match
keywords right partial match keywords
that have like a longer phrase
associated with them generally a couple
of the links and one thing I would
recommend too is to just get branded
anchor text to your review pages as well
so branded anchor text is great to use
almost all the time like you're not
gonna you're not gonna get in trouble
for using branded anchor text so that's
always gonna work out pretty well all
right Justin what's going on I can't
remember if I said hello to you earlier
but good to see you Justin says have I
looked into authority builders for links
no I have not I think I've heard of that
I think I've heard of them but I have
not looked into it at all all right good
these these are relevant questions and I
applaud all of you I think I can feature
these I'm not sure how this works
exactly so no but I have no clue how
this thing works
all right so Chris also says have I
attempted training a VA for outreach if
so what I suggested or do I prefer the
hands-off services yes so Chris
primarily all my experience up until the
I decided to do this case study was
training v---aids to do outreach so it
is way cheaper it is more you know way
more admin right so it's way cheaper but
you have to do more work with it however
my background is generally in you know
creating a process documenting the
process getting other people to do it
and improve it along the way which is
perfect for training VA is to do things
and it worked fantastic basically I
would say I'm just looking at the prices
at the sheet there I mean you probably
would be able to get links for under
$100 just in general and these are you
know three four five six times more
expensive than that and a lot of times
it's it's all based on like how they're
making it cheaper and not having to pay
for links or anything like that it's all
about like networking and making friends
with the folks that you know you may be
able to guest post there Don also says
was I happy
with the sight from human proof designs
yes I was and in the I'll point out now
all the companies that I'm mentioning
I'm an affiliate for so that is one of
the this is the meta thing going on with
this whole case study here is I'm
working with companies that I've worked
with before that I like and that I can
recommend and if you follow any of my
links and you make a purchase then they
are affiliate links is displayed in the
links or before the links in the show
notes in description I guess you would
call it here on YouTube but yeah super
happy with HPD they're cool and then
Richard says how do you train via is to
do email outreach you've been burned by
a VA and you've burned three hundred
dollars okay
basically my big advice is to not hire
anyone who says they know how to do
guest posting outreach or SEO outreach
or anything like that because you don't
know what they're doing
like you don't know who they learned
from or anything like that my most
successful and this goes back to you
Chris like my most successful attempts
of like a guest posting campaign
I had writers who finished writing for
me I finished that you know burst of
work and content and all that stuff and
I asked him if they wanted to do
something a little different send emails
follow directions that's basically what
outreaches so follow directions send
some emails communicate clearly they did
awesome
they were just writers they had no idea
about SEO I let him know the high level
sort of goal and then gave him the
outline of the steps and that was it
very straightforward again continuous
improvement I did this for my job for
many years as far as like developing a
process onboarding people training I'm
answering the questions all that stuff
so what advice would I give I would say
be patient if if you hire someone it's
almost always gonna take much longer the
first time around then doing it yourself
by the way you should know how to do it
yourself
ahead of time you can't outsource
something and train someone on something
you don't know how to do further if you
end up if you if you end up like hiring
someone to do outreach and you you don't
know I guess you don't know the process
you don't know if they're like skilled
at it or not you may end up getting
burned like Richard here so okay and
Amin asks a question as well and then
TIF is on what's on - or what's going on
- okay and then I'll answer this
question for mean here and then I'm
gonna move on to some of the other
topics we have going on today so Amin
says how do I evaluate the ROI on
getting links or is it not really
important to measure that so earlier I
mentioned that I'm doing a lot of things
right if you're working on a site you're
probably doing multiple things that are
generally positive all at the same time
so it's extremely difficult to measure
the ROI on that I don't know how you
would do it some people may may be able
to do that or have some algorithms or a
formula to maybe figure it out but if I
got all these six links in a you know
say a two to three month period which I
don't remember exactly but let's say
it's two to three months I have no clue
which ones are helping I also added a
lot of content all at the same time it
is basically impossible to attribute any
earnings or ROI directly to any one of
these links or any piece of content or
anything like that it'd be much eat like
if I see a piece of content is getting
you know 90% of the traffic yeah I can
kind of you know figure out a couple
idea or assumptions I can make
assumptions about like what is happening
there and maybe like backtrack
but we have biases on what we think was
going to work and how how the traffic
her earnings we're gonna change based on
actions that we did and we will find the
data that supports what we think and
then just you know keep marching forward
so the answer is I don't know is it
important to you know figure out the ROI
I don't know if you can figure it out
and you have some data that you can at
least review and maybe get feedback on
continuously and refine that formula
maybe it's valuable I don't know what
that would be okay

hour or every link acquired so Richard
here's here's the thing you should
understand when you're hiring someone
you're the boss you tell them what you
want to pay so you could do what however
you want me personally because I know
that's what you asked it was by the hour
because I had him do a set of tasks and
you know they had a list of things to go
through and blah blah blah so it was per
hour because in my opinion that was a
fair way to do it you know I don't know
how long it was going to take to get any
one link or anything like that and if
you if you are paying them fairly and I
knew the people I was working with
basically like it keeps the incentives
sort of true like if people are
incentivized right by getting links as
cheaply as possible then they will get
the links as cheaply as possible I
wanted people to go through a process
that's that's what I wanted
specifically in that case Jay asks about
bright local nope I don't know never
heard of him
okay all right one more question here
before I move on you want to say in says

all right what other stuff am I going to
talk about here where the where my notes
here man the software is pretty cool but
like I've lost the wind I don't know
what window I'm looking for here this is
just a mess okay all right so we talked
about the edge side we talked about Hoth
and loge annex we went through the
metrics a little bit and lastly here we
can talk about motion invest so motion
invests another company which I am an
affiliate for is a very cool concept so
there's a gap in the market I know a lot
of people out there either want to buy a
site that is already earning money right
so not a done-for-you site that is not
making money yet or an aged site which
may have some traffic may have some
earnings that's what I bought for the
Aged site case study by the way in the
edge site but basically you want a site
that's already making 100 bucks few
hundred bucks and it's sort of on the
cheaper range there are marketplaces out
there like Empire flippers EFI
International those are the two main
ones I know that have you know
pre-vetted sights high quality
marketplace for online businesses
generally and those are great however
those businesses are mature at this
point so it's generally the same amount
of work to sell a site making a hundred
dollars a month versus one that's making
say ten thousand dollars a month so
these companies like Empire
flippers at the international they moved
up the value chain so they are selling
sites that are making more money
consequently they are more expensive so
it's kind of a bit of a barrier and
there's a gap in the market so Spencer
Hawes from niche pursuits and John haver
over at authority website income created
motion invest we're gonna hop over there
in a second and have a look at some of
the sites that are available so the cool
thing is it's not a traditional
marketplace right so they're not a
broker they're not a broker and if you
have a site this is the other cool thing
if you have a site you can sell it to
them and again there's a gap in the
market so if you have a site making $100
to $2000 they can quickly vet your site
and probably buy it from you
so I know there are some folks out there
that are in that situation where you you
have a site it's doing okay but you want
to liquidate it so that you can invest
in another site because perhaps you've
learned a lot along the way so whether
you want to buy a site or sell a site
it's a place to check out so let's go
look at the marketplace here right now
by the way we have quite a few people on
which is awesome if you have a chance if
you hung on this long hit the thumbs up
if you have the ability to that would be
much appreciated and let's hop over

have a lot of nice graphics here and all
that stuff so this one here $13,000 it's
a four year old golf review website
making four hundred and fifty dollars
per month
I'm pretty sure that is profit yeah so
for forty-eight profit per month and
it's being sold it's a two point five x
monthly cool which honestly when I'm
looking at that two point five x monthly
I wonder if that is like it's one knee
5x monthly not two point five I'll have
to look at that later but um ten
thousand visitors per month domain
authority of twenty five and you can get
more information if you log in so like I
said we're not going to do that here you
need to go over and check it out on your
own next one is over here so this is a
one year old product review site so I'm
not a hundred percent sure but I assume
it's a general review site three hundred
dollars per month almost twenty two
hundred visitors per month in a domain
authority of fifteen so a couple
interesting things to note here by the
way is this interesting to people
because I was like hey this is some some
real stuff that we could look through
live here so the interesting things
would this so this golf site for years
old
alright so it's four years old and
there's a lot more visitors about 5x
visitors so it's selling for a bit more
but yeah just the domain authorities are
quite a bit different so you can imagine
like this site here the newer site seems
to be making and I didn't do the math
ahead of time I'm kind of talking in a
generally uninformed way here but
there's a lot more profit coming in per
visitor
for the second site now it's younger but
like I said there seems to be more
profits seems to be more profit here so
that's kind of interesting I think
that's interesting and the domain
Authority is only 15 here I'd be
interested to see what some of the other
metrics are I think sometimes the Moz
metrics of domain Authority page
Authority they're a little misleading
you know like I said they could be
manipulated sometimes they're a little
low like maybe this this site here the
one-year old site maybe it has some
decent links but maybe Moz has not
crawled those links or maybe they don't
deem them as being very good so moving
on I don't think there's a ton there's
only three available so you may want to
jump on it if you got if you got some
money burning a hole in your pocket next
one here is selling for fifteen thousand
is a ten month old printable site and
they say it has a lot a 10 year old
printable site I don't even know what
that means
it's a printable site anybody know what
that means there's a lot of quote growth
opportunity making it's making five
hundred and sixty dollars per month and
has about 5,000 visitors domain
Authority of 43
so much higher domain authority even
though it's a quite young site ten
months old and yeah ten months old not a
ton of history so it's kind of
interesting but my insight here is
around the ability to create a site this
making almost six hundred dollars let's
round up basically in ten months
so from scratch I'm assuming ten month
old site and it's in good shape
Chris says PDF printouts really that's
crazy
PDF printouts all right hmm so there's
some sites that have been sold here and
just for shits and giggles let's have a
look at those two so you can see what's
out there
kind of get a gauge on what's going on
now I see the price is that listed
anymore they just say sold but we can
get some you know information about the
age of the site the profit per month
stuff like that okay and then we'll
quickly move on after this we'll look at
like two more here all right so two year
old health site making one hundred nine
dollars per month Amazon affiliate share
sale sell health and over the last six
months so over the last six months is
making one hundred ninety dollars and
who knows who knows on this one it could
