if maybe you've attended live streams in
the past but I'm restructuring them
you'll notice a little bit more like
production value here so I have like
some some different things going on I'm
gonna bust out a few things today
hopefully that'll work for us today and
we're gonna keep it a little tighter we
have some topics that we're gonna go
over and some of which are going to be
around age side case study which if
you in so you're not totally lost I'll
share some traffic and earnings in other
details would that case study as well
I'll talk about let's see what else do
we have going on today
so a little bit about let's see November
8 Google update so I don't have many
details but I could share some traffic
and just some stories that I've heard on
the street further there's a little
Pinterest stuff going on as well so I'll
mention that
just just a little bit we also pardon me
we also have a few deals coming up next
week and some stuff to mention around
that so a lot of people are doing like
black friday cyber monday deals and if
if you get the email that I sent out
this morning to the email list you know
that I don't do discount so I'll talk a
little bit about that too because I know
a lot of people are always wondering hey
Doug do you have any deals going on do
you do you like discount your products
by a huge amount I don't I don't do that
so if you're just joining in I think we
got a lot more folks coming in here live

yeah we'll mention a couple deals going
on as well I don't know the specific
deals I won't mention them yet because I

which I'll talk about that it a longer
sort of a longer length there so a

today aside from the age side case study

questions that were sent in in response
to a video that I published about like
the Hoth which I'm actually wearing one
of their t-shirts here the Hoth is like
an SEO and like I guess full suite
services they offer and I've been
getting guest posts from them I've been
very happy with the quality and the
customer service just the whole
experience has been good for me some
people ask questions about like the
quality some other folks maybe they've
used the Hoth in the past and actually
left to comment and said hey I used them
and I didn't like it
I'm trying to get details on that
because you know it's helpful for me to
understand other people's experiences
too but as far as I'm concerned they've
been doing a great job I'll actually
show some of the metrics for the links
that I've gotten from them and that'll
be a mage that case study so and feel

so let's do this aged sight case study
and with any luck this software is going
to work all right so one of the good
things is with any software if you don't
use it you don't know what to do so I'm
going to try not to screw up here and
look at that it works it's working for
me here so first thing is I'm gonna be
sharing my my little screen here and I
think this is perfect I'm just gonna
zoom in a little bit to the area that
you care about so you'll notice I didn't
mention that I was going to talk about
the Doug show podcast but I am so I have
a podcast and if you haven't listened to
it yet you should I would really
appreciate it and the
graphic that I'm displaying here is the
like the charts right so this is the
charts for the ranking and it's it's not
as meaningful I'll be honest with you
it's not as meaningful to like rankings
and like getting more people to listen
but like showing up in the top 200
sometimes in the top 100 for marketing
podcasts in the US seems kind of
significant to me and I'm happy that
that I mean I'm in that point so you'll
notice here like I am actually ranking
in the top 100 a little bit I've been as
high as 61 which is cool I have a little
tellest raishin action going on here so
this is one of the other things that is
going to be fun to do so as high as 61
and I have been asking people to leave
reviews which much appreciated I'll give
you shoutouts and stuff like that so you
know you get a little benefit from that
I mention you if you do leave a review
and the big thing now I believe I
believe the having new subscribers right
I think having new subscribers is the
big thing to like boost your ranking so
it's kind of hard to tell Apple doesn't
share a whole lot of information but
there are more analytics that I'm
becoming aware of so anyway if you have

case study what everyone's here for and
I do see a mean says you'd listen to the
case study podcast and I mean you've
actually sent in a question I try to
make it like very community focus so

alright let's get to it
so got some cool updates and actually
for the people that we're mentioning
like traffic dropping I'm glad to
mention that the Aged site case study is
actually increasing in traffic so let's
look at some of the details so if you go
to a niche site project /a s yes cs4 Age
site case study you could check out like
more of the screenshots and stuff like
that but since I showed some of them
last week I'm just going to show you the
revenue for this month which is 35 bucks
through the 21st so through yesterday so
things are going fine there's not any
like huge spikes and sales or anything
like that but you know it's continuing
to earn so that's good and then we will
push on to the traffic so here this is
June like 16th right so June 16th is
when I actually took over the site here
so June 16th and you'll see just like a
kind of a spike like once I added some
more content got some backlinks and got
things rolling and then I'm just
generally slow growth right it's a slow
growth here and each week seems to be
record week as far as traffic so I
didn't smooth out the graph here but you
can get an idea that yeah like more
people are coming and you'll notice
right around November 8th which is what
you know people were talking about in
the chat there so November 8th right
around here you'll notice the traffic
went up so I'll zoom in on that and we
can take a closer look as well so here
you'll see a 27% increase in users and
just generally around that 27 to 20 like
a 29 and a half for the sessions I'm not
a huge like change in the session
duration it's you know people are not
spending a long time on the site so that
is just the way it is
like I said when you're looking at the
these Dave's here so this is November
8th through the 21st which is yesterday
at the time that we're recording this
live compared to the previous period
which is October 25th through November
7th so it's not you know completely true
like comparison weekend versus not an
weekend that does make a difference but
when you're just looking at you know
these couple weeks here this update
helped the edge site alright so it
helped age site you'll notice that you
know what do people ask about like hey
don't you want to get like return
visitors to your site and in an ideal
world sure but the way these Amazon
affiliate sites work people are looking
for information on a specific product
potentially some how-to information and
then once they get it they go on with
their life they probably don't need to
buy that product again for a long time
so they don't they're not going to go
back to your site that's fine there's a
lot of people searching for this stuff
that's why keyword research keyword
volumes are important all right so like
I said November 8th update seems to have
done well I have seen for the person
that I I guess like banned from the chat
basically I've seen most of my sites
increase in traffic anywhere from like 8
percent to as high as like 25 percent or
so and this one is about 27 which is
good so basically most of the sites like
80 to 90 percent that I have seen in my
sort of stable increase in traffic one
site has dropped by about I think about
12% when I checked the data yesterday
twelve percent or so which is kind of
disappointing because I was I was
actually increasing in traffic for a
little while I was actually getting more
backlinks doing some additional work
there and rankings were improving for
you know specific areas that I was
targeting
and I was using link whisperer doing
some internal links I was doing some
other stuff
and unfortunately the traffic is
suffering at this point in time so at
least for this site for the Aged site
case study traffic is up so that is
great all right moving on we have the
search console data here so search
console and this is the number of clicks
let's see if we could change the color
here too let's go with red alright so
this is the total number of clicks if
you're unfamiliar with the search
console it gives you sort of proprietary
information about your site you have to
set it up with Google but it's a free
tool tons of data in here but it's a
little more manual than the information
that you would get from some rush or
href or something like that so at this
point like you could see clicks again
this is a June the middle of June when I
took over the site and you'll just see
like slow growth so nothing huge here
right nothing huge is happening but you
do see that from the beginning let's say
if if we just kind of look at the
average right here you'll see about 50
visitors per day for a while right fifth
Early's 50 clicks from Amazon and then
when you look over here it's much closer
to 100 so it's much closer to a hundred
right here and I'm not sure why it my
little my little cursor is not writing
for me anymore
so maybe I hit something weird here okay
so it's increasing things are growing
it's about double from when I took over
the site moving on to the total
impressions here right
so this is total impressions and you'll
notice sort of a similar trend the
impressions are increasing by quite a
bit so at the beginning it was somewhere
around if I had to just guess I would
say like 1700 around here 1750 per day
for the impression
and now we're a lot closer to I would
say about close to 5,000 so about 5,000
per day here and impressions are just
when one one of the pages on the site
shows up in the search engine results
and it could be you know anywhere I
think in the top will just say 200 to be
safe it could be 100 I'm not sure it
could be 250 I feel like it's one of
those 100 200 250 something like that so
anyway we see growth here and that's
what we would expect because I have been
adding backlinks all right so that's
some of the other stuff we're going to
talk about today backlinks I'll share
some of the data around that too but I'm
gonna hop back for a second here to the
big screen and just mention a little bit
more about the case study here so like I
said if you're just coming in and maybe
it's your first live stream or maybe you
haven't seen any of the other content
about the age side case study you may
not know so I bought a site from human
proof designs I'm gonna fill it for them
so if you buy something through my link
then I get a commission thanks if you do
so basically I bought a site that was
like aged so it was over a year old I
think when I got it there are many other
sort of products you could buy done for
you sites and many capacities there and
I'm by the way there's some huge sales
that started like already so I'm gonna
mention those as well so basically I
bought this site it was aged as soon as
I took over high put my affiliate links
on there and made a few sales within
like a couple days not anywhere close to
like be ROI positive by the way but it
was like getting traffic and people were
backing stuff immediately
I think the first weekend I made like $3
something like that which is good
because a lot of people will start a
site to work on it for a while and they
won't make any money they won't get any
traffic for months you know depending on
what they're working on and how
effective their whole process is luckily
I kind of know what to do so that's the
idea with this case study I'm
outsourcing every
and I bought this I lined up some work
to be done which included getting a lot
of content written actually before that
I got some keyword research done had a
lot of content written had that content
published on the site 50 articles that
were keyword golden ratio compliance and
basically after that initial set of 50
articles which were published by within
a month while I was on vacation so I did
like nothing right I'm trying to
simulate what it's like to do this
without putting a lot of time into it
people were busy and you may have more
money than time so that said got the
content published got a couple backlinks
going and then I got a few more
backlinks over the course of the last
couple months that's been effective as
far as I could tell as a week it's you
know as I just showed you
traffic's coming up earnings are coming
in and by the way if you if you want
more details on the earnings you can go
to niche site project comm slash ASCs
alright so that's where you can see the
monthly earnings since June all the way
through October and then of course
earlier in this video I display the
earnings up through yesterday November
21st okay so at this point we're just
having more links there's plenty of
content on the site I got it with about
30 articles added 50 there's 80 that's
plenty to get started with I know some
people think hey I have you know
hundreds of keywords I want to publish
you know hundreds of posts and all that
you can take that route I mean there's a
million ways to do this there's no one
right way to execute this stuff so it's
totally up to you for me I like know the
power of the backlink I know it's a
pretty good idea to push through and get
those backlinks out there so that said I
can go back to with any luck there we go
alright so we're back here and I'll show
you the metrics for the backlinks is why
as be cost now this will be a nice segue
into the actual I guess like questions
that I received on like these these
links and stuff like that so number one
the thing that's probably jumping out to
a lot of people here right now is this
amount here twenty seven hundred dollars
for one two three four five six seven
eight nine backlinks that's pretty
expensive
alright that's kind of expensive and
you'll notice one of them here like The
Hoff does have sales and sort of offers
every once in a while bonuses you could
call it so they had a sale last month in
October where if you bought two guest
posts you got one free that's a pretty
good deal so I went for that and it's I
noted it here clearly and you know
you'll see that I've gotten a lot of
links from the Hoth the majority from
the Xavier and you know part of that is
what I started to observe with these
early links right here right do you see
the metrics for these babies so in what
I actually ordered so some of these are
like relatively inexpensive and the
metrics are kind of through the roof so
this one here these two da's and the
sixties or the trust flow is over here
in the 40s right so pretty pretty good
links and they were you know if they fit
the niche things were good right so I
was surprised when I heard from people
saying that you know I don't have I
don't I don't think I have good luck
from the Hoth and I wonder if you know
one they got a different product right
if I got a product that maybe was a grey
hat product then I would expect gray
hats
you know results from these I could tell
you that all of them are great and the
cost is you know I mean it's expensive I
could do it for a lot less in-house so
the other company here that I've
mentioned again I'm an affiliate for any
any company that I'm mentioning I'm an
affiliate for alright so I get a
commission want to make that one hundred
percent clear loge annex they have sort
of a higher touch service so that's why
it's a little more expensive and the
higher touch portion is that you get to
approve the site the guest post goes on
so you submit your order you have a
Account Manager slash project manager
that works with you directly they
confirm the details once they select a
few options for you they get back to you
they let you look at the site so tell
you the URLs right they tell you the the
main domain name you can go look at the
site if you like it or don't like it you
can let them know they'll give you sort
of like the first like the number one
option based on like their their opinion
but if you want to have it on a
different site that they've given you an
option for then you could tell them hey
I want the third choice and and then
they'll hook it up so higher touch you
have a lot more control and some people
want that again
you know folks were asking like hey I I
don't know about the Hoff because one
time I heard that they didn't do a good
job and I don't know I thought that like
two years ago for a little while and
then earlier this year I thought hey
let's challenge my assumptions let's
order some stuff before this case study
so I ordered a handful of backlinks to
test it out they turned out great the
big difference all right everyone the
big difference here is do you see this
section here so in in both cases both
companies like I am ordering these guest
posts based on the organic traffic not
the DEA I noted this over here because
everyone cares about the metrics right
everybody cares about the metrics sure
they can be a good way to like gauge a
site based on one number
however they
can like be manipulated very easily all
right
they could be manipulated by sending
crappy backlinks so it's interesting to
note these metrics and people care about
them which is why I put them in this
graph here however I kind of just care
if Google likes the site and we know
that based on like how much organic
traffic so if you if you order from
either one of these companies or any
other company I highly highly suggest
that you go for organic traffic it is
something that you could check through
third-party vendors alright you could
check through or third-party companies
services whatever you want to call it so
you could check with HRF SEMRush you
could check with any other tool that
gives you some window into it usually
you'll be able to verify this with a
free account in some capacity but you
know generally it's fairly easy to check
this and it can't be manipulated right
it's not a third-party tool so if you
order guest post order based on the
organic traffic even if the numbers are
off a little bit right so I ordered like
ten thousand visitors per month that's
the the period there the interval so per
month if it's 3,500 like that's probably
fine like it doesn't have to be exactly
right it could be much higher and the
cool thing that happens is you know I
ordered generally these are sort of like
middle tier I think I think you can get
like 1,000 or actually I can't remember
to be honest with you but when you order
these sometimes you end up with much
better site so like the first one this
is getting a little messy can we just
erase the whole thing here without
without goofing it up let's see we may
just have to do some undos here all
right not at work all right when you
look at like the first the first two
here so we have da 60 da 20 just for the
sake of argument I know I just
discredited the DA's here but basically
it was the same order right same cost
one of them was like way better metric
wise and the other one wasn't as far as
traffic I don't know I can't remember
off the top of my head but like it gives
you an idea like if you put in an order
you may end up with them really over
delivering it and I have seen that
consistently see these two Dan here also
da 60 so the other thing that I'll
mention is people were asking about like
where do I send those links so it's
about 50/50 home page home page home
page or review post you could send it to
an informational post as well I I can't
remember if I have done that with an
order which has not been delivered yet
but about 50% to the home page 50% to
review pages also a lot of those home
page links are branded so no naked URLs
nobody does nobody puts in like a naked
URL unless it's part of like the brand
name or something like that so branded
is what you want and that's just like
the name of the site the company that
sort of thing so let me know in the chat
people do you find this helpful is this
the kind of stuff you want to see like
this level of detail and while I'm
waiting for that answer so like I said
at the beginning of like displaying this
2,700 bucks on these backlinks and
that's pretty expensive the fact is this
is many times more expensive than I can
do this in-house however the point of
this whole case study is to outsource
everything that I can and just not put
time into it I've put very little time
into this I've spent more time even
talking about I've actually spent more
time on live streams and making videos
talking about what I'm doing on the case
study that I have on the case study
itself very weird so with that said
these nine links I'm
pretty sure I could have done for about
how if I just had to guess I'm gonna say
between 650 and like 850 something like
that I'd be really surprised if it cost
me more than that and that includes like
hiring a VA to do the outreach and other
details and I can say that confidently
because on one of my other sites I am
actually like doing the outreach the VA
is doing the outreach and it's it's like
it's just way cheaper
it's almost as fast to do it myself and
but like I said the case study is here
for a reason a lot of people do want to
outsource it ok and make you says you
can't afford guest posts right now but
this is good information hopefully you
can afford it one day okay and that's a
good point a lot of people were actually
leaving comments on the video from
earlier this week where I talked about
the Hoth I think I showed how to order
it can't remember it to be honest with
you so it is expensive and and some
people were like oh you should use some
other companies and I'm sure that some
other companies could provide like great
value out there and they can do a good
service and all that stuff however I
will caution you that you get what you
pay for most of the time you get what
you pay for
and I'm pretty sure I'm pretty sure if
you're getting like a really cheap
service you know I've actually have some
people say oh man I get guest posts from
Fiverr it's so cheap it's like a
fraction of the cost
but the quality in my mind you're gonna
either have a riskier kind of link you
know most likely if someone's selling
links on Fiverr on blogs I mean they're
selling them to anyone who will pay
money and there's a ton of bad links on
the site the content is probably not
great and just overall it's not going to
be as good of a link thus it'll be
either ineffective and probably it'll be
riskier so let's say it works let's say
you can get links for
a few of the other services that are
cheaper maybe they're just half the
price a third of the price I mean you
can get it way cheaper if you're going
for riskier type links but the problem
is like it's not much of a risk right
now all right not much of a risk right
now if you're not hurting much but in a
little while if you do start earning
money then you get penalized it really
sucks trust me it really really sucks
all right so moving on from here I want

I picked one of their age sites that I
thought had some potential and then I I
added more content and some stuff and
made sales right away they do have
revenue generating sites that are
already making money so that is a new
thing that wasn't even available when I
purchased my site so you can't check it
out so anyway if you buy a site from if
you buy a site from them I can hook you
up with a bonus the coaching all right
so I'll spec out the details later 45
minutes if you buy a site they have some
other products there that are on sale
too so keyword golden ratio services
they have some other sites which are
like drop shipping sites local lead
generation another two different
business models but also very very I
guess interesting to diversify your
business model if you are at that point
and the next thing is they do have a 15%

the links are just up on these
live streams so I have no idea what is
going on with it because I'm pretty sure
it'll work on my end
