and answer your questions so we had just
read out a question at the end of the
livestream and it was from Adrian really
about how to begin building a business
with her partner who is less enthused
and excited about building a business
really right so could she help get him
excited about the idea of co-creating a
business together right so and as we
jump into this question if you have
questions feel free to answer them we
had this little mountainous section we
lost service so Melody's on her phone
pulling questions we'll go from there
desire to create a digital business
online her partner is kind of a little
more traditional she knows he has the
skills the talent and my initial thought
in this kind of a situation is to really
make sure it's focus on something that
they love right not that Adrian loves
but that they love so when Mellie and I
co-founded our digital business we this
was actually out of the
oh we have a weird audio there we go
so sorry about that we had a little
technical issue
so when melanie and i co-founded our
business together we were both in real
estate school we went into real estate
and it was right as the global financial
crisis hit melyandd are a quickly
realized that real estate was not the
path to creating the wealth that we
wanted and in fact we didn't like
dealing with one hundred two hundred
three hundred thousand dollar products
we preferred a low-cost thing so this is
where the world of digital business
opened up and what did we do
well I consciously decided to go all-in
on something that Melanie loved I was
willing to go behind the scenes for
seven years and not come out from behind
the curtain not explain everything not
build a brand not just cut myself on the
back or stroke my ego for how cool miles
is 100% of my day-to-day efforts was
focused on growing a business based on
Melanie's brand it was something that
melanie was so enthusiastic and excited
about that was the ultimate key was to
go all-in on something that she loved
and this is kind of a situation what I
think is true for Adrian so if Adrian if
you cash as well which I hope you see
the second one fine
a niche finding an audience finding a
world finding a subject-matter a hobby
that your partner is extremely excited
about and then going all in on that to
where every time your quote-unquote
working on something it's something that
they love to do that excites them they
look forward to it that has the highest
potential of at least drawing them in in
such a way that they're excited to
collaborate and create because it is a
long process and it needs to be
something like to get someone involved
money is rarely a big enough idea to get
someone truly interested involved for a
long term so it has to be on that
subject matter that's exciting and fun
and it really builds up that like yeah
of course I want to go do that on my day
off because I love doing that and you
just find a way to document it to share
and to turn it into content oh yeah one
thing I would add in addition to that is
I think one of the core things that
really helped us you
and create something together was having
a a defined vision we had a vision and a
goal that we were focused on together
that building a business was a mechanism
to align with so for us that was freedom
in our life the financial freedom time
freedom not being tied down to a job
being able to travel the world having
location freedom and we were really
clear on that we wanted that and so the
business was a mechanism in order to
align with that one other thing that I
want to add is that at the conference we
were just had there was a very cool
couple who actually does love and
relationship coaching and I went to
their roundtables Hawk and one of the
things that they emphasize for success
in relationships over the long term but
I feel like it really applies as well to
build a business with
or love romantic partner or any partner
really is communication and so one of
their strategies was form to designate
10 minutes a day with your partner and
for five minutes and they literally like
set a timer for five minutes your
partner talks and shares with you how
they're feeling what they're excited
about what's going on and you just
listen there's no interjection there's
no back-and-forth you're just listening
to where they are and how they're
feeling about what's going on in your
life and your finances and business and
love everything and then switch and you
get to talk and share five minutes so I
feel like because you it seems like you
guys are at a point where you're on
different pages a little bit in terms of
what is the vehicle to align with the
next level of abundance and the success
and growth that could be something that
could be helpful to try on and you could
ensure it to him just like I learned
about this cool way to deeply connect
with your partner are you open to try
and it'll just take ten minutes here's
and here's how it works
so that thought came up for me that that
may be a good way because he may not
really understand and all of your
motivations and
poor desire and how important this is to
you and so getting clear on that could
help him to realize that this really is
a big deal for you and that it can be a
mechanism to not only bring you two
closer together in your relationship but
also for you to find your life in a way
that's going to be more fulfilling and
rewarding for the long term you know I
think that we do that a lot naturally
Melanie you just hiking hike we do that
I don't I don't know sometimes sitting
down and making a formal presentation
here's a new thing we're gonna do and
pulling out timers like that that
definitely can be a bit off-putting so
even just asking the questions and
creating that space and you know we do
that hiking all like we just said that
it's like that's what we do every day
we'll leave a walk and hike walk
whatever call it it's like a daily
practice that we have and then I think
you're right now on the greater vision
right there's there's like a greater
vision of what we're trying to create in
the world that that we often end up
putting aside what we want to do because
that greater vision is bigger race cars
and hobbies and other things drift cars
all these things that I I'd love to have
some of those toys to be perfectly
honest but as far as our greater vision
they aren't in that greater vision and
the greater vision we have is to help a
million people a month meditate right
now because that really has a chance of
helping change the world for the better
and that is a driving force for us and
that kind of like bigger North Star is
like
well we'll just do what we have to do to
get there and the byproduct of that is
clearly more abundance right and and
someone in the chat is saying we
obviously don't have kids and how that
wouldn't be possible if you have kids
running around and screaming and I do
just want to clarify for you that you're
right we don't have kids but the couple
we just learned if I just learned this
from at the conference they do have kids
and it's almost one of those things if
your life is that hectic to where you
don't feel like you can literally take
10 minutes to connect with your partner
you need that more so is that about
getting up 10 minutes before your kids
are up yeah that's super early but
having not that reconnection point there
there are ways like don't let just
because we don't have kids doesn't mean
it doesn't mean you're at a disadvantage
there's incredibly successful people
with kids it's not yeah not using that
as a crutch someone else was asking what
do you remember what their website was I
thought I had a screenshot of it yeah I
was
we have there boy his name was doctor um
dr. Grossman their daughter
Roger Grossman so if you googled a
Southern California it's like I think it
was fall of falling in love forever and
falling in love forever calm was their
site and they they do a course on
relationships so they were a great
couple
oh yeah fresh shell says if there is a
bull there is totally away interesting
might take longer with kids I have them
and I have grandkids too Adrian says yes
hiking is awesome for that we do it when
we go camping how to translate that into
daily life now yeah all I can say I
think the camping niches you know like
the audiences around camping and it's
like how can you take something that you
guys do and enjoy and and create like a
Content side around it where you can
start to grow an audience in a way
that's fun and doesn't feel too much
like work because after five days at
work then the weekends here and it's
like I just want to relax and it's like
it's difficult to keep that motivation
up to keep grinding but when it's when
it's around something that's fun it can
be that shift so you know like I'm just
an uber geek with this marketing stuff
so I go to a seven-day event like all
day every day I'm talking about
marketing everybody's drinking and
partying and like nope 100% sober I'm
like sneaking off to find whiteboards
with people to draw out frameworks for
them when everyone else is literally
party in the barbecue and and just kind
of like but because that's it really it
flows through me with Melanie on rollers
I was like oh man just like that's I up
there they have great me or there's no
pens around here so it's just that idea
of what you find that subject matter and
the content creation method that's kind
of fun that's the power point and it's
about just doing it for long enough to
really kind of
and really what like what having those
communications to realize what could you
guys together be excited to work on
together for the next 10 years because
it is a longer journey so having having
that longer vision in order to stay
interested because of the 10-year mark
the Scotsman's and max trouble
opportunities pop up and like we have we
know so many people who around here five
or eight they they jump ship and they
switch switch opportunities they switch
niches and part of the power for us now
as we have been working on our site for
10 years now and now it's getting next
level exciting and magical and I'm very
grateful that it's in an area that I'm
still passionate about and happy to keep
writing about and and working so
I'm curious how it is for you to be
going against the grain as compared to
what the big names in your industry or
the girls are saying example
specifically because like it won't wait
like did I give away value for free like
I just believe in the law of reciprocity
I believe that the law of attraction is
real I believe there's some truths that
let me hide karma is real and Karma's
only a bitch if you are right so I think
that giving value first and staying with
giving value for long periods of time
greatest like it makes me feel great
like I tell people like literally my
whole like so we do search engine
optimization we get people on our email
list we help them obtain things they
want to buy to get results the people in
their life we sell them courses we sell
them one of things they give them free
things like that's not really like out
of alignment with what the Guru's are
saying I just don't want to chart
to teach you that because it's where
they have is their course they sell you
to teach you what they did to make their
course they sell you it's just like it's
just gross like that's just skeezy
and like so I feel good about not being
skeezy I guess but I don't know if that
was your actual question just doing it
on on your own on your terms right like
save what everybody zags there's like
I'm just I'm not a sheep I don't want to
follow the herd I don't want to convince
you you need to sell a thousand dollar
products and neil patel has this one
neil patel why out ranked for learn SEO
on youtube right he's well known to be a
great SEO wow tranq him for a lot
different phrases right now he sells
thousand plus or sold thousand plus
dollar courses on SEO and i outrank him
and i teach everything i know for free
makes me feel pretty good to be able to
do that but he has a keynote speech
where he says clearly you must sell a
nine hundred ninety seven dollar product
minimum we don't even have a nine
hundred ninety seven dollar product
period we just don't have one like the
highest ticket product we have is six
hundred dollars and we split that with a
lady because it's a joint venture the
highest ticket product we sell that's
ours is 247 i believe
that's it so like and we've made
millions doing this like so it's just I
love proving people's our full of
like I love shining light on the fact
that that the truths that everybody say
our box Tanner truths are not its sure
this it's one way to go about it but I'd
rather give value and help massive
amounts of people change their lives for
the better versus you know being greedy
and a total frickin like there's not
only one way to do things there are but
the only way is there mm our force way
and that's essentially a narcissist
selling you something that they know
will work for you but they have
Lamborghini payments and Lamborghini oil
changes they have to pay for I don't
drive a Lambo I got a I got a
six-year-old turbo diesel car that gets
50 miles to the gallon
perfect yes I have some cooking I have
some great stuff to put out there but
being online and doing social media
dreams need how do I get enough time so
find your recharge right like you're
never gonna get past putting out content
period here you just have to find a way
so what are you recharged moments so we
hike a lot then we meditate every day be
super clean food I drink nothing but
water I drink no alcohol I do have a
little bit of coffee in the mornings
he'll alcohol no sodas nothing like that
that's gonna mess with me and to create
those ups and downs they eat all pretty
much all plans to really maintain my
energy and I think on average four to
six miles per day every day so those are
the habits that I have integrated with
rituals you might say that I've
integrated in order to maintain a high
level of energy some people love
mountain biking and a mountain biking
brush get two forms and we love
snowboarding skiing
go into the gym lifting actual weights
whatever it is you got to find those
routines that fit in and then remember
you don't have to do all of the things
you have to get down really really
really really good at one thing so I
went all in on YouTube for six months
before even building an opt-in page all
the little YouTube for over a year
before even trying to get my YouTube
content onto my blog two and a half
years before I even started a Facebook
fan page two and a half years of nothing
but YouTube so I just went all in on one
platform I went through one learning
curve I got really good at one thing and
then I was able to build a lot now one
is the most dangerous number in business
so I did build plans and systems to
diversify my traffic over time but that
was not early because it would have led
me to burn out quickly so all in on one
is kind of the other side of that what
do you think about affiliate marketing
in 2018 can I succeed at it as a
motivational speaker absolutely
undoubtedly
I mean tens of thousands of dollars a
month as an affiliate right now start
this brand just couple under a couple
years ago we were just at a conference
with 120 of the most successful jayvees
in the personal development space in the
absolute world many of them have done 20
to 50 million dollars and there's no
people are looking for JB's they're
looking they're all they're like looking
for partners on both sides of the
equation I can say and I can think
at least two people literally in the
motivation personal development space
who are super successful and have never
made a product of their own so they are
they are just super affiliates and it's
all about in in some sense that almost
makes it easier for you create an entire
course in curriculum give that all the
way for free on YouTube gives so much
value to your audience and then only
promote things that you tried that you
can vouch for it's all about building
trust and attention and then keeping it
and if you promote these these stuff
you're gonna lose the attention of
people so keep your integrity promote
products that you are happy to stand
behind and absolutely it's possible
that's just about committing to it
putting in the work keeping your mind
right and aligned and pink in it for the
long game so on the mild specular brand
this channel you're watching before I
launch my little membership program that
just launched I don't know eight months
ago I guess I had made probably two
hundred fifty three hundred thousand
dollars one hundred percent this is an
affiliate giving everything away just
showing them how to do things and show
people how to get results and eventually
there's tools and things you need to get
there and books and recommendations
those in so I think it's alive and well
is what I would say and the real asset
you're building is your email list and
the relationship with that list so all
in on audience growth and then the trust
grow through email okay
yeah hi melody I'm starting out building
my bitch around meditation and soul
development how did you attract your
amazing audience in your niche so
interestingly it's exactly what what
miles is just answering on the last
question it's not any different because
it's a meditation niche it's just
literally understanding who are you
talking to I find it can be helpful to
sum up your entire audience as one
person who is that one person who you
can help on their journey absolute
evelopment and then create content give
value in order to serve and guide and
assist them on their path and really it
really is about that valuable content we
live in a world where there is so much
information out there so much marketing
material out there but when you
authentically and truthfully from your
heart I once heard someone say about
YouTube content that it's actually less
important about the specifics of what
you're saying and more important about
who you are and your audience is going
to be able to feel when you love your
heart movement when you're speaking
truth when you are when you truly care
about them and want to assist and
support them in their life that is
conveyed through a youtube video just
because we're separated by screens and
thousands of miles you're still able to
feel our energy and and people are
smarter than ever before so we all see
through motion yeah we we see through
the crap on the internet and then when
people are speaking truth in our sincere
in their intention to help others we
feel that so embody embody your soul
development and share everything you've
learned that's been helpful for you on
your path can continue to learn and grow
I continued to study learn meditate grow
seek evolve and I'm sharing what's
working for me in the moment and people
relate to that and are helped by it and
want more I do think
something that helped me immensely is
I've really over the years focused on
one platform at a time really intensely
diving into one platform back in 2009 it
was Twitter that I started with no it
was the WordPress born out where you
can't you gotta start liking that here
so so one I gotta interject one thing
one little tech piece is it it won't
will have someone you got to look inside
of yourself and figure out what is your
core content creation method so Melanie
began with writing yeah written work
text like just just typing it out right
for me it's video because I just don't
love the process of crafting ideas in
the written word I really like speaking
things out it just works with my DNA so
very bit different DNA but she jumped in
and she is vlog vlog she learned even
research long today's day and age the
options really are video audio via
podcasting or text via blogs and so and
then you did later on Twitter and she's
always gonna have one means so what is
your cool mechanism to deliver
incredible free valuable content
you're totally right for me that was a
blog and then I drove traffic via
Twitter that then moved to Facebook and
and focused all of my effort then on my
blog first and foremost and then
Facebook was the mechanism to meet
people and share so I would take
snippets out of this incredible blog
post I wrote and shared it to Facebook
memes are created that link back to that
blog post so having your core content
and then social media is a way to so
drive traffic to it from the gate
literally take little sections out of
that amazing piece of content you
created and put it on the social
networks linking back to your content
you'll see see Myles and I both doing
that to this day we're both creating
more video now and out of a new video on
YouTube there's little 30-second
snippets that are pulled out that go on
Instagram there's three minutes Tippit's
that are pulled out on Facebook but that
core valuable content and then
syndicating it out on the social media
to CRO your tribe but at the core is you
and Stan
and sincerely desiring to make a
difference in the lives of others people
feel that and and your audience will
grow one other little hot topic cliche
type thing there are no new messages
there are only messengers and there's
people that you will connect with that
Melanie doesn't connect with there are
people who hear what Melanie's talking
about there's like Hannah I don't like
the way she says the letter s I don't
like I don't like this that are the
other so they move on and they go find
another messenger for them
so know that there's plenty of room of
the top I got a video on the whole
reason why there's room at the top but
your voice is needed in this world so
coach Sophia us hi coach how do you ask
me but you I'll be interested in your
perspectives here
how do you balance working on your
business versus estate mindful and not
burning out I am a big introvert and I
struggle a lot with quick burn outs so I
that's a great question just you know
I'm totally introverted as well and
really it's about figuring out what are
the ways in which you recharge you were
actually already talking about this
earlier and it is so key so it's it's
finding the balance between working on
your computer broadcasting your message
and then taking the time to refuel and
recharge yourself for me
that's daily meditation
daily hiking in nature and daily
studying or learning growing myself I
also when I'm like making dinner that's
an opportunity I also think that burnout
is often a result of taking on more than
you're recharging so there's a gap
between your energy level and how much
you're trying and wanting to bring to
the world so remembering that
if you fill up your personal cup first
then you can overflow so so filling
filling up your cup and then also when
you're working keep asking yourself what
would this look like if it was fun and
easy I know it at times I went when I've
like burned myself out at times it's
often because I'm spending a lot of
energy on things that aren't really
important just flat-out don't matter
like I said and in today's day and age
there's more things than ever before
now suddenly creating a youtube video
every other day isn't enough now
Instagram saying you have to do stories
every day that expire in 24 hours yeah
really really focusing on on that
mechanism for delivering your valuable
content and don't be afraid to ignore
other areas while you're doing that if
you guys follow me on Instagram I kind
of stopped doing stories because I
recognized that that was taking me out
of my recharge opportunity I felt when I
was doing stories I felt like okay I'm
on a hike it's beautiful I should show
this and I realized that that was taking
away from that over we only lost service
for events so yes there just
maintaining if you're always getting
burnt out barging yourself up enough so
be honest with yourself about how you
can start to recharge and it may be
letting go of certain things that you're
doing to have the energy to crush it
with the core of what you're getting
real quick we're going up a hill with my
Lu service we do all stay on and come
back to you but um I have a video called
get into the flow state or stay in the
flows he searched my channel for flow
state because there's actually like a
mathematical equation and oftentimes I
think burnout happens from taking on too
many different learning
and that is incredibly stressful that
you don't need to do it so it's about
going into one thing they said the core
content first getting to where that spot
both people do a video maybe for a week
and they're like cool Nell do Instagram
and on their Facebook it's over well
just boom instantly so you were talking
about your video yeah it's to win when
you take on challenges they are equipped
for it feels good right when you take on
challenges that your money clipped for
everything feels frustrating give you an
example the game Tetris where the blocks
are falling and you're putting an order
if I gave you the game of Tetris and I
put it on the hardest level ever you
play it like twice you would fail both
times be like this sucks
I'm over it because the challenge is way
higher than your skill set I gave you
Tetris on the easiest level ever you
play like 2 times you like this sucks
because it's boring because the
challenge is not up to your skill set so
there's this range ok we can probably
keep going to the turn on frame I think
so okay so FJ asks what are your guys
long-term goals in terms of your
business
endeavor so like yeah on what level
mom's yeah one of our one of our core
our Kohler core goals and driving
missions really is to help a million
people a month meditate with our our
premium meditations so

packed more people and we have some
specific ways we're going about not but
really that guy being one so here's
here's a new shift and on the first one
we talked about commitment the first one
that they died because the service
realizing that what we've created as far
as a business model has the potential to
create wealth for other people for
affiliates right becoming a JV becoming
a vendor so we now have the ability to
create what we've created but I can open
this as a mechanism of wealth for other
people who then can help us get to our
million people a month meditating goal
more quickly and that's a new idea the
thought of like us I mean me sending
hundreds of thousands of dollars per
year to dozens and dozens and dozens of
affiliates so all of that goes oh hey I
think we should call it okay what to
call it there was one question if we
were to do it all over what you know now
what would I think just yeah commit
earlier like we don't when we first
started we didn't really believe we
didn't really see the full potential of
what was possible but the fact that you
guys are connected with us now we're
saying
it is possible you can truly create
incredible things you can create an
incredible business abundance financial
lifestyle but it takes going all-in
so go all-in sooner commit to yourself
come into your audience bringing the
highest level of value to the world that
you can breathe and I think I think the
proof in that is how quickly I've been
able to grow this miles that's our brand
right like I just I just went all-in
from day one I knew on video number one
that there was gonna be a thousand
videos on this channel and right now
we're at five hundred videos and I know
there's me a thousand videos in this
channel and I know the impacts could be
massive and the wealth from it is gonna
be massive and I knew all of that
because we dabbled and we doubted early
on hers and we didn't realize the
potential her scale that was there and
it took four or five years to do what I
was able to do in a couple of years
probably took like six years to do what
I did about a year and a half to be
perfectly honest with you which is
really really shy above could be how you
jumped in with that commitment no I'm
believing at the core that it was going
to work taking the actions in alignment
with that and it works and it's it's
working beautifully and brilliantly so
believe in yourself and commit to
bringing value to your audience and have
that big vision of why you're doing what
you want to do and anything else like
and no I think that's really it just you
can do it and I've seen it in so many
goofy niches now that like it sure as
hell like I mean the make money online
niche is a terrible decision to go into
my personal opinion but yeah there's
there's like angel messages horseback
riding like it's it's everything and
just when you go all-in and commit to
your people and you really go all-in on
helping them make their lives better and
helping them make their world better and
creating and finding solutions for them
everything else lines up from there all
