video is about niching down I want to
help you niche down to where you can
really find that sweet spot within a
niche that you're able to dominate
because you can't be just another voice
in the crowd you really have to find
your way into a section of a niche or a
sub niche within a niche that you can
absolutely dominate of all my friends my
dozens and hundreds of very successful
internet marketing friends the ones who
get this right are seeing the fastest
path to success so this is ultimately
extremely important to you and I know
this is still kind of something it comes
up because I get a lot of comments and
questions about it so what is too broad
of a niche well too broad of a niche
would be the dog niche and I have
someone in the comments recently who's
like hey I'm in the dog niche is that a
good niche right well I don't know do
you own a dog do you love dogs do you
have a unique understanding of dogs have
you been teaching dogs or dog owners
something for 20 years maybe it is a
good niche there's obviously hundreds if
not thousands of people generating
full-time online in this space but
they've all niched out their own little
niche as a quick example and I'll give
you some other examples real world
examples too but we're gonna get to one
I've used before but so there's the dog
niche right well what's a consumable
that people have to deal with over and
over and over when it comes to their dog
right well dog food right because dogs
eat food every day all day
they eat food and they turn it into
stuff you gotta clean up in the yard so
that's what a dog does it's a food
consumption unit therefore the one thing
a dog is gonna consume the most of is
going to be food all right well are you
just gonna move straight into the dog
food niche probably not it's dominated
by a few gigantic players in the market
so what do you do you have to niche down
again well what about the vegan dog food
niche that you've heard me talk about
before now you have a group of people
vegans right who are trying to help
their pets be on a plant-based diet and
there's probably not all that much
information out there there might be one
or two brands offering a type of vegan
dog food but for most people in this
space there is going to be a lack of
attention offered to them you see a
niche is actually a need and these
people need to find a way to feed their
pets plant-based diets and you could be
the person who has the education
that offers them the answer to this
unsolved need in that moment you have
found success I'm gonna go through a
couple of other ideas and a couple of
other niche examples because I think
it's important for you to really think
about this niching down idea because you
have to get down deep enough in a niche
where there's not that many people
competing and you have the opportunity
to dominate so look at the miles better
brand for example right like I stepped
into the internet marketing and make
money online space a very very crowded
space but I surveyed the landscape it's
like okay well what can I offer well I
can do helpful YouTube videos on how to
do things and I'm looking around and
there's other people obviously doing
helpful YouTube videos but then I
noticed my unique approach to this niche
most people are half teaching or they're
teaching something that's half true and
mostly not true and then they're trying
to sell you into their monthly
membership program into their info
product course or they're essentially
trying to sell you into something or
they're forcing you to watch these
ridiculous ads in the front so what did
I realize I could do okay
I could put unguided free 100% value
delivered content for how to make money
online and internet marketing here on
YouTube not many people in this segment
of the internet marketing space that's
why this channel is growing so quickly I
was able to survey the landscape find
out where everyone else was kind of
dropping the ball or leaving an
opportunity open and I stepped in to
fill it and then I've created 350
something videos in about 20 months and
I've been on my horse proverbial prover
before proverbially I've been really
hustling to make this work is another
way to say that and that's the important
thing for you to take away so my friends
in New Zealand who run an extremely
successful web site they were in the
fitness web site for a long time he's a
professional rugby player she is a
professional fitness instructor
they were running an online gym for a
long time essentially teaching fitness
to mums at home not really standing out
all that much from the p90x is from the
whole world of theirs there's just a lot
of people in that segment of the market
right so when we first met them they
learned about our angel meditation site
they're like wow angel meditations like
that sounds like a deep subject and I
help them understand what we
almost created that sub-niche we're not
actually competing with people in the
meditation space right there's headspace
there's holosync there's some big
players in the meditation space Oprah
and Deepak Chopra actually did a
meditation together we are not even
competing with them because we found a
sub niche the angel the guided angel
meditation space is where we live and
there was really no one being of service
to people who like angels want guided
meditations and want to meditate more
with their angels we are of service to
them and it's really working for us so
my friends in New Zealand right wow
that's that's really interesting that
you've been able to carve out such a
successful business out of such as what
seems like a small and obscure niche
well it turns out the wife she loves
horses and not only does she love horses
she loves dressage riding if you don't
know what dressage riding is it's
essentially like horse ballet it's kind
of like horse dancing the interesting
part is it's actually an Olympic sport
so what they realized and it's something
they had in the back of their mind it
wasn't like it was my idea by any means
they had this in the back of their mind
but when they met us they realized maybe
going into that really really really
deep niche has the potential to create
value that we didn't fully see right
away so after we left the first time I
met them about three four years ago they
really kind of went in and they put a
little bit more time and energy into it
and now they have the number one selling
fitness for dressage riders course in
the world they actually have part 1 and
part 2 and their business has absolutely
exploded
why because they're focusing down on a
deeper need they found an audience that
was not being served right yes there's
fitness course out there but these
individuals who love dressage riding a
they think the horse is the problem they
think they need to train the horse
better be when you let them know that
them managing and helping improve their
own fitness is gonna give them more time
on their horse and help them be a better
just saws rider aha you're speaking to
them directly you're speaking to their
direct need and it becomes easier at
that point I've got another home girl
named Alex Alex is a content marketing
machine we met on the Nomad cruise
originally she's in town I'm trying to
align to do an interview with her to get
really her her take on her niche but she
runs travel fashion girl calm and
essentially she has found the
intersection of
fashion for women who travel but to go
even farther right because there's a lot
of that that's already out there but to
go even farther she's focused on all
carry-on only so her niche is women who
travel they care about fashion and they
only want to carry on I believe she's
getting something to the tune of seven
to eight hundred thousand visits per
month she has one of the top fifty
thousand websites in the United States
of America and she is absolutely
dominating in that space because she's
speaking to a very specific need that
niche that need it's a very specific
need that is specific to a very unique
segment of the market you see a lot of
people think that niching down you're
gonna get too small right like I need to
be a dog right I need to talk to all dog
owners but ultimately you realize when
you get down to such a small niche that
you're speaking so specifically to a
specific need that a group of people
have that's currently going unmet or
unsolved you actually are able to build
your business more quickly it takes less
people and it's easier for you to stand
out because there's less potentially no
competition out there if you think about
the automotive world right like what is
a car a car is ultimately a device that
helps us humans go from point A to point
B if you want to expand upon it and add
trucks in where humans and things are
able to go from point A to point B what
is Ferrari doing in the car space does
Ferrari try to sell their cars to
everyone is Ferrari trying to ramp up
production because everyone with a
driver's license could drive a Ferrari
so theoretically they could have the
mindset of well we're just gonna sell
cars to everyone now they didn't what
did they focus on they focused on a
specific need that individuals have what
does that need well it's the need to
feel significant it's the need to feel
important right and these individuals
who purchase Ferraris especially some of
the deeper Ferraris that require you to
own two or three four hours beforehand
and then wait on a waiting list and pay
two point three million dollars or
whatever it is right there is a status
that is involved in that and that is
ultimately what Ferrari is offering is a
status symbol that you are able to use
to get from point A to point B and the
individuals who buy that are willing to
invest millions of dollars to
essentially display a status symbol as
they are moving themselves from point
a to point B and it's because Ferrari
has stayed so focused on this status
symbol and helping these people who need
to feel important do so through the
vehicles they purchase that Ferrari has
been an incredibly successful brand
Lamborghini last year they do a very
very similar thing right it's kind of
the same basic market you're driving
around a Lamborghini you are essentially
flashing a display sign of status and
you're flashing that look at me I'm
important mindset and their sales were
actually up 20% year-over-year last year
so like this market is growing and
they're doing so well because they're
staying focused on their niche this is
why melanie and i are doing so well with
our main business this is why my youtube
videos are doing so well because i'm
speaking to an unfulfilled need in a
group of people there's a group of
people on YouTube and on google
searching around trying to figure out
how to make money online and they either
don't want to or aren't able to purchase
the overpriced courses from the fake
gurus so here comes myles bechler
putting out all of the content for free
on getting everything no ads no BS i
eliminate the 37 second dubstep intros
and the wandering rambling BS parts that
annoy you and i so much in youtube
videos i get in i get to the point i
teach you how to do what you're
searching to do and i'm on to the next
one people find me through keyword
searches because i'm doing
optimized content which every example
that i'm talking about has done and
ferrari is optimizing their content
through the selfies and through
instagram if you were curious about that
one but ultimately what i've done is i
found a space within the internet
marketing world within the make money
online world that no one a need that was
not being filled the need to just learn
how to run facebook ads without having
to go through a course and a sales
letter and a automated evergreen webinar
that's complete annoying that doesn't
really have someone in chat but yet the
announcers yelling at you to comment and
chat and say yes and chat
that's all bs so i was able to step into
this space and dominate because there's
really no one else doing this everyone's
copycatting and mimicking the fake guru
so you have fake gurus trying to be like
fake gurus who are trying to be like
fake gurus here comes miles just giving
everything away for free surprise
surprise it's working same with the
vegan dog food niche right there's dog
there's dog food that's the most
consumable thing that dogs go through
that's great get one layer
deeper from dog food because you're not
going to go up against Alpo and Purina
and those big brands have national
distribution what is that kind of
unserved niche underneath the dog food
niche it's that vegan dog food it's the
plant face it all works so when you
think about it really just ask yourself
am i niching down enough if you need
help going and niching down more I
recommend getting on StumbleUpon and
looking through the different kind of
categories within StumbleUpon and go
deeper into those categories into the
sub categories on StumbleUpon also
Amazon I've taught this in my might how
to do niche research how to do market
research video going into the Amazon
best sellers list going into the main
categories the sub categories and the
sub sub categories and look around
you'll notice books that don't fit are
sitting on the top and that means that
there's no one who's created a perfect
book for that exact niche that means it
could potentially be an under serviced
niche and the final thing before we get
going is know that you will be pivoting
on your path what my wife and I are
doing currently in the angel meditation
world is not what we started out doing
we started out offering one-on-one
readings my wife is doing one-on-one
angel readings and through kind of
feedback through our resonance with the
way it was working and through just
testing and trial and error we found
that we were able to pivot over to this
model of creating these angel
meditations and that wasn't an idea what
we had when we first began it's an idea
that appeared through us spending years
of being focused to an audience really
trying to be of service to the audience
asking ourselves is this the best way we
can be of service to the audience at one
point was like laughs can't we just
record this and maybe layer it and done
and put it out as a meditation then lots
of people could buy it and download it
we tested it it worked we've been doing
that ever since so you got to kind of
make progress forward you got to pay
attention to what's going on dig down in
your niche and know again on the miles
Bechtler brand here I have been trying
several things to teach how to make
money online for years and years and
years it wasn't until I found this
little mixture of putting out unguided
super helpful 100% free videos on
YouTube that things started to click for
me but if you go back and look at my
domain name I bought this domain miles
backer com domain I bought that in 2006
and I've been trying to build a business
since 2006 didn't really come up with
this exact idea until 2016
it was always a side thing wasn't
putting all
my energy in it it's never been my
full-time gig as my wife and my business
is the full-time thing for me but I just
wanted to kind of share that I hope this
has been helpful for you you really do
need to niche down you need to find that
sub segment of a sub niche that no one
is being of service to or maybe one or
two people are being of service to but
you have some sort of a unique angle a
new mechanism a unique approach or a
unique series of experiences in your
life that will allow you to really
dominate and then the trick is to
outwork everyone be smarter yet work
smarter I get it but you gotta outwork
everybody you got to physically create
more content than anyone else you got to
physically turn up that heat and become
the dominant force you have to choose
yourself then you have to step into that
role and as I think what would the most
helpful marketer in the world do hey you
keep putting out the free content and
keep getting it out unguided to as many
people as humanly possible therefore
that's what I do I'm still hustling I'm
still growing you can do this too you
just need to find that alignment in that
intersection of that audience you want
to be of service to who you can best
help who's currently being underserved
what does that need and then go help
them solve that problem go help them
fill that need you'll find magic happens
when you align with that the correct way
and don't be afraid to try sometimes you
got to try something
pivot try adapt pivot try adapt I'm

think 13 of my different online
businesses that completely failed up -
the one that worked with my wife and I
then I tried some other things before
finding this Myles bechler once so it's
been a long path of trial and error and
that's okay because I learned something
in every one of those ventures that did
not work that has helped me communicate
this exact video with you more
effectively so all those challenges I
had going through those 13 failed
businesses actually are serving me
greatly today because I'm more effective
communicator I'm a more effective
educator to you because I've gone
through more problems than most people
have in this space and that's why I'm
able to keep putting out these videos I
never run out of ideas because I've been
through so many challenges barely even
scratching the surface with all of this
so I hope this has been helpful niche
down find that unique little spot that
you can dominate and then go forth and
be of service to that kind of audience
at scale be the most helpful person in
that world and you will find magic
happens when you align with this
