Steal My High Converting Opt-In Page Design & Learn What To Test On Your Landing Pages

hey miles here miles Becker calm in this
video you're gonna learn how to design
and create a high converting landing
page we're specifically gonna look into
the components the wording the phrasing
the actual imagery the pieces within
your opt-in page that really compel
people to take actions we're gonna talk
about headlines bullet points and that
fun stuff if you're looking for the nuts
and bolts like click here go do this
click here go to that of physically
constructing this page know that I've
got videos that already cover that
they'll be in the description below but
this is more about the content you put
on the page because honestly the content
is everything the first thing to keep in
mind is that you sometimes have to test
many different offers to find the thing
that is most compelling to your audience
so for me I started with an abundance
meditation I loved meditation it's
helped me a bunch in my business I do
think there's a trend in our world of
entrepreneurs and business owners of
leveraging abundance but that offer
really only converted about 15% which
told me that my market doesn't value
that information my second test was a
totally different offer it was a
Facebook pay-per-click case study where
I showed how I generated about 14,000
leads in 30 days I kind of documented
the funnel and everything about that
that converted better I was up just
under the 30 percent 25 28 percent mark
is where that one converted but my
current page that you'll see in a minute
we're actually gonna get in and we're
gonna tear down what I'm doing to show
you exactly how to lay yours out
this one's converting about 45 percent
and I even have a new test I'll show you
my brand new split test that I'm running
what it looks like I expect this to get
me over the 50 percent mark so number
one big takeaway testing different
offers is key don't assume your first
idea and your first offer is gonna be
the most compelling to your audience let
the data guide you and be willing to
create multiple types of giveaways and
test those first when you find something
that really clicks though run with it
that's when you get deeper into the
testing where do you go from there well
the first place is the headline and
Before we jump on the screen with my
actual landing page to break down the
layout in the design I want to give you
some headline templates that you can use
because headlines are so in
ortant for you now I do recommend a book
called how to write a good advertisement
by Victor Schwab it was written in the
1940s and it's literally him kind of
documenting riding around talking about
100 of the most successful headlines of
all times up until that time the cool
part is he really looks at the
psychology behind why those different
headlines are working so well and that
information the human psychology behind
the headlines is so valuable to you in
this current world highly recommend it
Victor Schwab how to write a good
advertisement okay so a few headline
templates for you that you can kind of
work with and these are more concepts
right so really the first one I want to
talk about is the revealing a secret
I've taught this in many of my previous
videos and when you watch the how to
actually build one of these right from
within the the web back-end I use that
example it's free video reveals the
secret to blank where blank is the
desired result that someone wants you'll
see that my my current page when we get
to it is is based on that same framework
it's free course reveals so I'm not
saying it's a secret I'm saying it's a
free course because I think there's a
value out there and then the desired
result what you'll get to see so the
first one the big takeaway is free
secret free course reveals the secret to
blank you're revealing something people
love getting in on secrets so there's
some power in those kind of power words
upfront those are words that sell that
invoke emotion but then you follow it
with their desired result and their
desired outcome then there's the problem
solution right that are you tired of
your biggest problem well I've got a new
free report that'll teach you how to
blank that's the solution that they want
right so are you struggling driving
traffic with Facebook Ads my free case
study will show you the exact ad I use
to generate 14 thousand leads online so
that kind of a framework where you
mention the problem because they're
going to self-identify with the problem
it's essentially a call out at the
beginning like hey do you have this
problem so I'm tired of acne right
someone who has acne is gonna read that
me like oh my gosh
am I ever boy would you do you know
here's a natural organic way without
sulfates to cure I don't know what it is
right I don't know that I don't know
what the solution is I'm just trying to
give you a rough example off the hip
then you have a specific result in a
specific amount of time
people love specifics hard numbers right
how to lose 14 pounds in 10 days is the
kind of a headline that if someone is
God they've got a short deadline and
they either need to fit into a wedding
dress or a bikini or some board shorts
or they've got a big trip down to the
tropics and they feel like they could
use 10 Pat Lite lose 10 pounds and 14
days type thing it's the specific amount
of weight loss in a specific amount of
time that adds that double layer of
excitement that will compel them
over-the-top so specific desired result
in a very specific amount of time real
quick moment to talk about ethics you
want to be ethical in your marketing you
want to make sure you actually can
deliver on your promise no lose 60
pounds in 4 days type headlines
sensational headlines can get clicks but
you have one reputation and it's
important for you to be able to deliver
on your results so generally when you
use these kinds of headlines that have
specific time frames it's best to have a
case study it's best to have
testimonials third party validation
beyond just you saying it that it
actually can deliver the result that
you're talking about the last one is
getting a specific result without giving
something up right so there's the idea
for example of how to lose weight
without giving up pizza right so someone
who wants to lose weight but they don't
want to give up pizza or how to lose
weight without exercise so there's two
ways to go about this template they both
start with the desired result but you
can either avoid doing the thing you
don't want to do which is obviously in
this situation that would be the the
exercise or while still being able to do
that thing you want to do that you'll
think you have to give up both
approaches work and again the goal here
is to just do lots of testing ultimately
you need to test one item at a time and
we're now going to jump on the computer
over here and I'm going to show you
exactly how I've been testing what
in testing so we can kind of look a
little bit deeper into this so it'll
make sense I want to get visual for you
not just theoretical so here you can see
this is my last landing page on the last
test that I ran here this converted 45%
on this page here now in the current or
last live video I did where I covered
and did a lot of funnel reviews bullet
points is something that came up for a
lot of people so this morning first
thing on my Monday morning I took a dose
of my own medicine and I've got a new
split test running and this is the split
test variation that I came up with and
you can see that I've got bullet points
down here now I do think the quick to
read benefit driven bullet points are a
great addition and this brings me to the
moment where we're going to talk about
the overall design of your landing page
because it is really really key to keep
this in mind so I'm gonna go ahead and
take a little screen shot that I can
sketch on super simple components so up
top here let me get my pen real quick up
top here we have the headline now you
can have a pre headline and a sub
headline if you want they're not
necessary you'll notice sometimes
there'll be a little bit smaller text
above a little bit saw or text below but
for an opt-in page my goal is always to
have it able to be read within a couple
of seconds I want this to be a four
second digestible understand exactly
what you're gonna get so the headline is
up top this is essentially the promise
you want to promise that you're able to
help them solve their problem or over or
achieve their desired result which is
what I've come up with on this headline
then we've got this bullet points
section before I had just more of a
quote in there I've tested several
things I do think bullet points are
going to be my highest converting
version but the data is still too early
it is outperforming my other one right
now but the data it's just a little
early so then you have some sort of
imagery
you know I've tested a head shot here
versus the book cover the book cover is
converting the best for me you need to
test what works best for you and that's
something that's the grain of salt you
need to take with this whole video and
when anyone tells you about what cumber
it's better than what you need to
remember that every niche is different
every audience is different and you need
to ultimately test things then we have
the button which is the call to action
there's a few things you can test on the
button itself but it's pretty
self-explanatory this is very low on the
priority list of what I would say of
testing people use these foot tests your
button color as an example to give a
really good clear example how split
testing works it's actually a terrible
split test to run you're gonna get a lot
more value testing your offer and
testing your headline than you ever will
testing a button the one thing I don't
have which is probably what I'll put on
my future ones is I will let this page
go longer down below here and it'll be
testimonials so the other way of saying
testimonials is proof I want to give
proof beyond me saying it that it
actually works and that's how I could
make this longer if I did put a bunch of
testimonials before so someone could
scroll down and read the testimonials I
would repeat either just the button at
the very bottom or possibly the whole
offer again at the very bottom so
someone who read down through a bunch of
testimonials then they would see the
offer again they wouldn't have to scroll
around too much to find where to go to
actually take the action and to go from
there so that's the core of what I
wanted to share with you is the basic
layout and you're gonna notice and a lot
of people ask me about this and they say
miles but this page is kind of ugly
right it's so simple does that really
work well my wife and I have had some
really interesting conversations about
the pretty web versus the ugly web and
my wife loves to have her content look
pretty I love to follow the data and to
allow the data to drive our decisions
and we have found many many times that
simple landing pages I don't have to
come they don't have to be ugly but
simple landing pages consistently
outperform complex landing pages I
recommend you start with as simple of a
landing page as you can and honestly
this design here that I'm using is about
as simple as it gets you have about four
main components that you're working with
it and you've got one offer you've got
one promise that solves one specific
problem it's either gonna work or it's
not and you my friend get to really
connect with your people and in a moment
you will get a test that will ultimately
give you some results of saying does is
this outperforming that
that's the big question right is this
variation right here outperforming this
variation it's also important to
remember that you want to test one item
at a time
now you notice when I switch back and
forth although this page is a little
shorter because I removed some white
space here the headline is the exact
same the image is the exact same and the
button color and button text are the
exact same thing I've only made
modifications to one thing which is the
actual bullet points versus what I had
before and that way when you make one
variable change you know that you're
able to really identify that that one
variable increased or decreased your
conversions if you change four or five
things on a page you don't know what one
thing actually made the change so we
test one thing at a time and I recommend
you test again number one is the offer
you got to test the offer the actual
thing that you give away first so that's
the first one that you want to test his
offer number two is your headline number
three is your bullets I would say four
is testimonials and from there you can
do imagery and you can do button colors
but this is the key and honestly I don't
really care how you go about creating
your own kind of landing page whether
you thrive themes which is what I use
and recommend that's what I have kind of
used to create that landing page there
or you use some other third-party
software they generally will add lots of
bells and whistles to their landing page
templates
they'll have logos up top they'll have
color banners on multiple color
backgrounds I always try to simplify
down to the bare minimum components I
want a plain white background so I fit
in on the web standard I want nothing
above the headline the headlines up top
and I want the whole thing to fill the
screen to where you can see the button
when the page loads this is called above
the fold and I'm gonna actually switch
back to my screen so you can see this
this is everything that display is when
you load is above the fold and it's key
to make sure your button displays above
the fold and even
my page was a little bit longer it still
fit 100% above the fold you notice I
have no navigation up top I don't have
my logo I don't have my colors I don't
have any of that stuff that's on top of
my normal site and my blog because I
don't want to distract people I don't
want to lose people I don't want the
leakage from my funnel when someone says
oh blog let me go read their blog the
options on this page is either to
proceed or to leave and one other item
to think about is the idea of a two-step
opt-in versus a one-step now this is a
click pop which is a two-step opt-in the
other option is to have the actual email
opt-in name email fields with the button
below you're kind of giving away the
idea that you want them to take action
here it makes it look really simple like
all they need to do is to click the
button and they'll get it when they
click now it asks for the email you'll
notice I don't ask for name and email I
just ask for the email address because
for me I want to make as simple as
possible as few fields as possible so
many people are filling this stuff out
on their cell phone now and if you ask
for three separate fields it just takes
too much time and people might lose
motivation to get that thing that they
have I reinforced on the click pop what
they're going to get I keep the button
color the exact same I always want a
button color that's different than the
color of everything else on the page so
you notice this orange is very stands
out you can clearly tell that this is a
unique color that it has one thing to do
this is called my action color that I
use in other places on my website so
anytime someone sees this color on my
website they know that's to take action
on I'm training people to take action
based on the color that they see this is
really the simple idea of how to
effectively kind of create your landing
pages I think one other thing I want to
cover in on this real quick before we
run off here is on my bullet points
right so there's a lot of psychology
that goes into bullet points and
oftentimes you can start writing bullet
points and bullet points may contain the
secret to your headline so if you're
having troubles getting a good headline
and you're like I don't really know what
to put for my headline right lots of
bullets try to write 15 or 20 benefit
driven bullets the what
they gonna get tight bullets right the
so you can type bullets really the goal
is to get as many benefits as you can on
this page to help them realize they're
gonna solve their salute they're gonna
get the solution to their problem but if
you write enough bullets you might find
that you're really really good headline
was hidden number 22 out of 50 that you
wrote so in my bullets my thought
process here was how to choose the
perfect niche is one of the biggest
problems that my audience has people get
really really stuck on this and then I
say every time so that means even if
you've already done one and you want to
now duplicate your success you want to
create a second business you want to
create a second kind of web asset or
authority site this now speaks to you as
well as the person who's brand new
trying to figure out how to choose the
perfect niche then the exact
step-by-step process of how to build
your two core web pages now I could
probably rephrase this and I could
probably position it as the two required
pages for your success and how to build
them so there's there's different ways I
can go but this is what I came up with
when I ran the split test and once your
split test is running it's not good to
go tweak things so I'm pretty much
committed at this point but the goal or
what I'm trying to state here is that
there's there's this little piece of
idea of what are these two core web
pages well somebody's going to need to
opt-in to learn that now what does this
step-by-step process so I didn't want to
leave them with I'm gonna show you the
two pages that you need but I want them
to know that they're gonna get the exact
step-by-step process of how to build
them also so that's kind of the power
from bullet number two number three is
how to drive traffic leads and sales see
I took it all the way to the sales from
free and paid sources so for someone
who's running paid Facebook advertising
I want them to know that I've got
content for them and for someone who was
on a bootstrap budget like I was I
didn't even have $100 to start my online
business I barely scraped that together
literally was ninety five dollars and 40
cents for me to start my entire business
that's grown to over a million dollars
in profit but that's neither here nor
there I want to make sure I identify
with people who are in a similar
situation and they're bootstrapping
also and then even if you are completely
new so I want to make sure people
know that this is new be friendly
because they have a lot of people who
are new and I tell them exactly what to
do in the button this is the actual
action I want them to do I want them
literally to take their mouse and click
there I'm not leaving it up to ambiguity
and I reinforce what they're gonna get
which is the free course and then
there's the now right because I want
them to take action now that's really
the breakdown I think the headlines a
very self-explanatory and it just
follows that kind of I reveal the thing
that worked for me to essentially help
people get the desired result that they
want which is going from a side hustle
to a million dollar business I'm playing
on gary vaynerchuk's ideas quite a bit
here because he talks a lot about the
hustlers and the side hustles and I'm
really trying to tap into that idea
people who are grinding it out nights
and weekends after their day job that's
where I was when I started so I want my
story to come through so we can connect
I can connect with those people who go
to my page if you want to see that page
in action I don't know which variation
you're going to get but it's at Myles
Beckler com4 slash free - course
join my list if you haven't I've been
sending some great emails to my list and
ultimately this is the process for
creating a very high converting landing
page I recommend that you truly heed my
warning on keeping it simple people tend
to make their landing pages way too
complex and I see that as number one
reason they shoot themselves in the foot
with conversions because your audience
has the attention span of a goldfish and
that's actually from a Microsoft study
we have shorter attention spans than
goldfish do the average attention span
in humans is something like eight
seconds so ask yourself can your landing
page be completely digested
problem-solution benefits and what to do
next in eight seconds if the answer is
no you have way too much going on if you
have a bunch of different colors and
colored backgrounds in this and that
it's gonna pull their eye to different
parts of the page and you're not gonna
communicate with them the benefit the
solution that you're offering which is
why I run white backgrounds super clean
text super readable it's easy for anyone
to open that page to know
instantaneously is this for me am I
gonna get something I want do I resonate
is this gonna answer my questions if
their thought process is yes
they take a step and they move forward I
highly recommend you go forth I really
love thrive themes if you're not on
thrive themes I'll have the link to
thrive themes pop up above that's how I
create my landing pages my sales pages
my blog pages my pop-ups my my split
tests it's all run through the thrive
themes membership it's by far the number
one best kind of landing page building
system and split testing system out
there runs on WordPress so you own the
code you don't get trapped into a third
party system and it doesn't cost ninety
seven bucks a month or $150 a month or
whatever some of those crazy software's
like to charge you um they're paying a
lot to affiliates whereas thrive themes
just has a team of support and a team of
developers there to really help you grow
your business that's it for this video
if you've enjoyed it give me a thumbs up
