hey miles here miles Becker calm in this
video you're gonna learn about the power
of compounding specifically you're gonna
understand how your efforts compound on
content marketing so if you're doing
blogging youtubing podcasting all of
your efforts will begin to compound and
there's extra power for you as a
marketer and as an entrepreneur in this
compounding effect so we're gonna dive
deep into compounding itself this is a
kind of a phrase an idea borrowed from
finance and I'm gonna use kind of a
financial example in a presentation the
my graphics guy made that will quickly
solidify how powerful this is and
ultimately my personal opinion this
potential of your efforts compounding is
what puts organic search engine traffic
at the top of the list for the most
valuable traffic potential so let's jump
into the presentation I'm really excited
about this my graphics guy really nailed
it so we're going through the power of
compounding here and I have a question
for you which would you rather have
would you rather have a million dollars
right now or would you rather have a
penny that doubles every day for 30 days
so day one it's a penny day two it's two
pennies day three it's four pennies and
so on
so which would you choose and if you
want real quick hit the thumbs up button
and put your answer in the comments
which one you would choose now that
you're at the beginning of the video and
we're just gonna walk through this so
day one ready for this million dollars
on one side we got one penny on the
other side day two we got two pennies
for you see where this is going and we
are now one week in and it is
essentially a million dollars versus 64
cents and seven days in it really looks
like the million dollars up front idea
was the big idea because it doesn't seem
like anything's happening just like a
freight train that's getting started
takes a lot of energy at first but
ultimately it will get a lot of power
going over time so let's fast-forward
the presentation here we're on day 12 at
20 dollars day thirteen forty dollars
were two weeks in we're almost halfway
there this is the halfway mark at day 15
and it's
hundred and sixty three dollars so this
is how compounding works especially with
your organic content marketing efforts
right you can be putting out content
every single day really really pouring
your heart and soul in your posts and it
feels like nothing is happening just
like someone who chose the penny that
double side right now halfway through
this exercise you're like dude 163 Fox
like I'm nine hundred and ninety nine
thousand nine hundred and forty thirty
seven or something dollars away the gap
between the two is absolutely ridiculous
but this is where a little bit of faith
and trusting in the power of compounding
really really comes in so now we're at
day 21 which is essentially three weeks
in and we're still only at ten thousand
dollars versus a million dollars
literally we're three out of four weeks
there it's a little tiny bit over four
weeks right 30 days is 28 days plus two
so we're almost 3/4 of the way there at
this point and the gap the discrepancy
between the two is still ridiculous and
the power of compounding is barely
starting to show up right now because it
takes time for things to compound and
that's what most people don't get and
that's what most people don't apply to
their content marketing for long enough
periods of time because that's the
ultimate magic trick in the game so then
day 22 we're at 20,000 a 23 we're at
41,000 24 83,000 day 25 we're starting
to see some momentum at this point right
so were five days away from the very
very end of this were 5/6 of the way
there we're almost near the finish line
and there's still an eight hundred and
thirty three thousand dollar gap between
the two but this is where the magic
truly shows up day 26 were at about a
third of a million dollars day 27 were
at 671 thousand dollars day 28 that
doubles and you have crossed it so at
day 28
you now have 1.3 million dollars if you
chose the penny that doubled every day
and here's where the real power comes in
day 29 is 2.6 million day 30 and
up with 5.3 million dollars versus the 1
million upfront and that is really it's
a very common kind of example that's
used in a lot of financial education I
think I learned about that first through
a network marketing company actually and
the big picture idea that I really need
you to take away is this that when
you're going through your 90 day
challenge your 120 day challenge heck
when you're doing your first year's
worth of content marketing it's going to
feel like the first half to first
two-thirds or three-quarters of this
presentation it really doesn't look like
all that much is going on for you're
getting these little bits of compounding
effort so an example for you when I was
growing my youtube channel that you're
watching now as of this recording I'm
somewhere in the sixty five thousand
subscriber range I did a hundred and
twenty videos in a hundred and twenty
days and I only had four hundred and
fifty subscribers most people look at
that moment of like wow this this
doesn't work or something's broken or
something's not working or how do I fix
my approach there's nothing needed to be
fixed with your approach you just need
to follow through I'm now over two years
in on this path and I'm actually only
doing three videos a week right now so
I'm doing less effort now than I was in
the beginning but I'm getting
drastically larger results and that is
from the power of compounding you see
those videos I made in my first 30 days
60 days 90 days still bring me new
visits and new traffic every day here
from YouTube then all the videos I
created from month 3 through month 6 are
still bringing me some traffic every
single day all those videos from month 6
to the end of year 1 well some of those
are still bringing me in some of my best
videos are actually in that group and
they brought in hundreds of thousands of
clicks hundreds of thousands of viewers
not to mention all of those videos that
I made in year 2 right all probably a
hundred or so videos I made in the past
year all of those are still bringing me
more traffic they're connecting me with
new people and this video I just
launched out here will probably get to
about a thousand views in the first week
or so you know
this might subscriber count' in my view
count and i cover this in detail on what
my views are throughout my monthly
updates that I do but ultimately it's
not this one video that's making a huge
make or break in my content marketing
efforts just like it's not one video for
you and your content marketing efforts
it's the cumulative total of my efforts
and the fact that all of those videos
are still little assets out there
attracting new visitors into my
ecosystem attracting new subscribers
attracting new viewers that's how this
works so now I've published well over
400 videos and the compounding efforts
and the compounding traffic and views
and subscribers from all 400 of those
posts have added up to this really big
amount of momentum that I now have here
in YouTube just as we saw the little
thing done consistently over long
periods of time that penny that doubled
and then it doubled and then it doubled
wasn't a big thing at first it was just
a penny then it was - then it was four
then it was eight but if you do it long
enough and those efforts continue to
compound that's where the real magic
happens and then things just start to
get bigger and bigger you continue to
put in the same effort right I just kept
doing my videos that it just kept
doubling nothing changed in the equation
other than the amount of time that was
applied to that very very simple process
allowing the magic of compounding to do
its thing I hope this has been really
