video is going to reveal the your one
funnel way lie and I'm gonna share the
truth so you can understand how far away
you actually are to creating the success
that you desire they've probably heard
that catchphrase or tagline for a
software that is a brilliant marketing
phrase but unfortunately it's not true
and it's clearly designed by someone who
runs a funnel software to sell you on
the need for funnel software but the
truth between where you are and where
you want to get to be which is creating
the success you want online is much
deeper right there's more to it than the
one funnel away idea as with so many
aspects of the internet marketing
business the individuals trying to sell
you things oversimplify in order to sell
their wares just like how the Facebook
advertising gurus selling you Facebook
Ads course make it sound easy to run
Facebook advertising whereas about 95
plus percent of people who run Facebook
Ads never do so successfully so most of
the people making money there are those
fake gurus selling you the courses this
is another example of that but I don't
want to leave it down in the dumps I
want to give you the real truth because
you deserve the truth you can handle the
truth and when you realize the seven
separate steps that are required not one
funnel away but there's seven things
you're away from to really really dial
in what you're working towards then
you're empowered with knowing kind of a
roadmap you know what to do and when you
get your mindset straight and you get
your kind of roadmap straight you can
actually get to your destination and
that's what I want to help you do so the
big idea I think is that you're one
irresistible offer away and that
irresistible offer has many different
components within it
one of those happens to be you kind of
need a page at some point that has at
minimum a check out now is this a funnel
or not that's up for debate but let's go
in and start at the top of the seven
things you need to craft a successful
business online so number one you need
an audience who has an urgent need for a
solution right a lot of what I teach on
this channel a lot of what the great art
great marketers of yesteryear taught is
that the list and the audience and those
individuals that you're targeting is the
mo
important part of your business what are
their challenges were their problems
what are their goals what are their
needs what are their desires if you're
selling some random thing that doesn't
solve an urgent need in the life of that
prospect then the odds of them being
willing in the moment to take action and
convert and become a lead or a customer
is very very minimal right like if you
are actually solving an urgent need
something that they've been losing sleep
over something that really kind of is
constantly in the back of their mind
they're always thinking about like odd
if I could get rid of that thought if I
can get rid of that if I could solve
that problem man my life would be so
much better when your product when you
solve that problem for them everything's
gonna get a lot easier and first and
foremost that has nothing to do with the
tech stack that it's built on so that's
number one number two is your ability to
help them solve said problem now it's
one thing to be able to identify a
problem that an audience has and it's a
totally different thing for you to be
able to actually help them solve said
problem and so many marketers jump into
the especially affiliate marketers jump
into the game of like oh my gosh I can
just go fine get a affiliate link for
this thing and I can go promote this
thing and wow that's gonna be amazing
but if you don't actually have the
ability to help them solve said problem
and you think you're just going to link
them from one place over from facebook
over to that product sales page maybe
bounce them one time through an opt-in
page you're in for a day of reckoning
and that's never going to be scaled
scalable with paid advertisements and
the likelihood of you being able to
create organic traffic that's going to
convert effectively over time is going
to be extremely minimized as well so how
do you demonstrate how are you able to
help them understand that you can help
them well through content right through
your ability to communicate just as I've
done through about 460 videos on this
channel really truly communicating what
it takes to grow a successful business
online I actually have done this several
times before my wife and I still run a
very successful business that's why I'm
not trying to always sell you things I
have a niche business that covers my
bills right so I'm taking the time to
share what's worked for me which is
helping thousands of viewers like you
actually make progress towards their
ultimate goals so you need to have the
ability to help them solve
if you're going in the weightloss space
you need to have the ability to actually
help people lose weight so sometimes you
may need to start with going through a
certification course becoming a licensed
nutritionist or something you need to
then go work with individuals one-on-one
to prove that you actually have the
goods that you can actually deliver on
your promise because if you can't
deliver on your promise you're again in
for a day of reckoning and you won't be
able to create a long-term business
number three is their trust and this may
actually be the most important part and
yet again a funnel has nothing to do
with this you can build trust without a
funnel and you can run funnels that will
never build trust so whether or not you
have gained the trust of that individual
that you're communicating with in that
moment where you're kind of making your
offer through the funnel right the the
one funnel way moment if they don't
trust you they don't trust that you can
help them solve your problem that you're
a real person that you're not a scammer
you're not another one of those people
just trying to get their money if they
don't trust you they're never going to
take action regardless of the tech stack
that you've built upon so how do you
build trust again it's through content
I've used YouTube and my blog and my
email list as a way to grow trust and
ultimately to take that one step farther
to build relationships so trust and
relationships are kind of one in the
same right we have positive
relationships with those types of
individuals whom we trust those
individuals whom we don't trust we don't
really have positive relationships with
so look at what you're doing within your
business or do you have kind of steps in
place do you have mechanisms in place
designed to build trust for me a big
part of what I've done for that is four
hundred and fifty five plus four hundred
sixty videos in about two years right
that's a big time trust building move on
my part I was willing to help people get
results in advance before ever asking
for anything in exchange on my wife's
business that we run the the kind of
main business that we run together
she spent we spent three four or five
years publishing content content content
giving value helping really establish
her as an authority within that niche
establish her brand as an authority that
could be trusted within that niche
before we ever really went big
and when I say big that's a weird word
to use before we ever really dialed in
the conversion mechanisms to sell our
audience things we were selling some
things along the way but we were 80 plus
percent focused on putting out great
content to build trust first so when we
got to the point where was like okay
let's launch a membership a monthly
ongoing membership for $37 a month we
already had this group of people who
knew us they liked us and they trusted
us and that is such a key the funnel
didn't really do the work of selling our
products those three or four years of
putting in the work and putting out
great content for our audience that's
what did the work in really selling our
audience on choosing us when the moment
came to check out for that membership
program so number four is the ability to
communicate your value proposition in a
way that triggers action so the short
way of saying that is copywriting skills
you have to be able to craft a sales
letter a sales video a webinar some
mechanism right that's gonna live on a
page so now we're getting the point
where this is technically living easily
could be confused with a funnel but it
also could just be a page on your
website
most of my wife's sales have come from
WordPress posts not sales pages they
still have the header up top they're
just WordPress posts we do this on
purpose because we're not trying to
create a pressure-cooker moment for that
individual we want to let them know what
we're offering without any real pressure
if they're into it and they want to get
the result that this product is going to
get them then they'll buy and if not
that's fine and we value the
relationship more so we put it in the
same context in the same framework in
the post right versus on a sales page
because we want them to have a similar
experience just as when they're reading
our normal blog content or going through
our free content so that's why we don't
test we don't necessarily or technically
run a funnel with every sale we produce
and honestly I'd say 90 plus percent of
our sales have come from pages just like
that that ultimately linked them to a
standalone shopping cart so copywriting
is probably the make-or-break right you
have to be able to help people you have
to know who they are and what they're
working with and what challenges
have what fears they have and that
really ultimately that knowledge is
built up to where you can communicate
effectively in that moment when you're
ready to make your offer and you're
pretty you're ready to present your
solution to them in exchange for their
hard earned money the way you
communicate that is either going to work
or not most people I see excuse me who
are running Facebook ads trying to run
funnels trying to go down this game of
internet marketing following the fake
gurus they have zero copywriting skills
and that to me is probably the number
one differentiation between those who
actually build long-term successful
businesses and those who don't is that
ability to write great copy
I've personally studied all of the old
books I have a blog post that covers I
think five of my favorite copywriting
books I'll have a link to that pop up
above my head the link will also be in
the description those are just the books
I read their books from the 1960s I
think one was from the late 40s and
they're they're the old school so you
understand the psychology of what
triggers humans to take action and then
we simply lay that out in today's
digital kind of interface through our
wordpress blogs etc so then number five
is the actual tech you do need a
shopping cart at some point you do need
the ability to obtain the payment from
someone in exchange for what they offer
the simplest shopping cart I've ever
used is called the eStore plugin buy
tips and tricks HQ and its I think $49
one-time fee that's it you don't have to
pay every month and we sold hundreds of
thousands of dollars of digitally
downloadable products it plugs into
WordPress and you can effectively use
something as simple as a PayPal button
which you can generate from within
PayPal for free and you could deliver
based on the email that gets sent out
the product that way I do recommend
going with a bare minimum shopping cart
so II stores what I started out with
today I currently use two shopping carts
and I love them both I use them for
different reasons I'll put out content
that explains in what situations I use
each of them but thrive cart and Sam
cart or the two I use I'll have links
below so you could check both of those
out if you're interested but ultimately
you do need a mechanism that's going to
be able to accept payment now depending
on what you're selling right if it's
downloadable or not you may need a
plugin that's gonna unlock up
Paige for them you may need a little bit
of a members area for them but if you're
selling a coaching session the thank-you
page could simply have your calendar or
your private calendar for them to go
book their session that they just
purchased so it really can be a very
simple tech stack if you will to in
order to create what's necessary for
earning income online having a sales
page that's laid out in a blog post
works for my wife and I sending them
directly to a shopping cart that lives
on the shopping carts domain and then
ultimately we deliver the product on the
back end through a wordpress page that
has worked for us and we've generated a
couple of million dollars in revenue
through that simple of a system number
six on the list is your ability to
deliver on your promise now this is
where we got to go beyond the
copywriting because it's one thing to
understand an audience to realize what
their fears their challenges their
problems are in their life and then to
craft an offer that's really going to be
compelling to them right to get that
copywriting down and to be able to write
those words that are getting to get them
to think oh my gosh thank you I've been
looking for you you're gonna help me
sell my problem I trust you boom I'm
paying you I'm ready but then you have
to deliver on it because if you can't
deliver on it you're gonna have a refund
rate up in the 30 40 50 60 % Plus refund
rate which is absurd we run about and
this is a very long-term number I'm
talking tens of thousands of customers
we run below a 2% refund rate is where
we're at and that's because our products
a they aren't sold with pressure
they aren't sold with hype we don't
oversell our products so we're filtering
out the number of people who come into
our product and those who do buy get a
great product experience because they
love what we deliver we deliver on our
promises and that is such a key so one
thing to be able to do all the marketing
in one way it's a whole nother world to
help people get results in their life
it's a whole nother world to help people
through the process of transformation
because that's what people are buying
that's what people want they want to
transform their lives and this goes all
the way back to number two your ability
to help them solve the problem it's not
only the ability to help them solve the
problem like you've coached ten people
one-on-one to lose ten pounds so you
know you could do it it's also how
you're able to create the video training
series create the actual learning
management system create the actual
content that they're going to consume so
they can on-demand
the result that you promised if you fall
short on that delivery side of the game
you're gonna have a ridiculous refund
rate you're gonna have a lot of problems
and we see this a lot with the fake
gurus who are charging you know $2,000
for an info product through a webinar
that's really really kind of an
evergreen webinar forced around pressure
and hype and then they hype you up and
then people buy and their refund rates
are 50 60 % refund rates and instead of
making their products better they get
lawyers to craft different Terms of
Service that say we're only gonna refund
you if dot-dot-dot to me that's a very
shady side of the internet marketing
world that unfortunately is extremely
true and they have to do these things
because they're paying 1819 hundred
dollars in ad spend to sell a two
thousand dollar product because their
products just don't work and their
margins completely suck but if they put
enough money in the front end they can
get just enough to live out the back end
so that's really why I kind of avoid
that whole world I'm not into the
big-ticket product items I'm not really
into selling or creating high ticket
products I'd rather just give it away
for free build the trust and help you
accomplish your goals because I know
there's so many people who are hate they
know their products aren't gonna work
for you but they're willing to sell them
to you anyways knowing that it's not
gonna deliver on on what they say
they're promising on their sales page
but as long as it affords them the
Lamborghini in the mansion they're okay
with it that doesn't resonate with me so
all err on the other side then number
seven we come to number seven traffic
you have to be able to drive traffic at
some point some way you're gonna have to
get someone to see your offer now I
truly believe the offer is more
important than the traffic but every
successful business online has to play
both games at the same time now if
you're using Facebook Ads you've been
noticing that your cost per leads are
probably going up your cost for new
customer acquisition are going up and
some of those old tactics that have been
regurgitated from fake guru after fake
guru after fake guru and all these
thousand and two thousand dollar courses
that keep going around they're not
working anymore and there's a reason for
that and it's called the law of
diminishing returns and when someone
goes and teaches a method a traffic hack
or a method a few thousand marketers buy
in that guru who taught that method has
now made their income they're doing good
but now all those thousands of people
are implementing
the exact same method and it stops
working at a very rampant pace this is
why most of the fake gurus are only
teaching what they did last year and
they're not actually teaching you what
is working for them right here and now
and you can notice this through the
interfaces that they're showing they're
generally gonna be showing a six month
eight month year old Facebook
advertising interface because they can't
show you what's working for them now or
you would ruin their little honeypot
their little honey hole of profitability
so it's one of those situations where
the way I've always approached Facebook
Ads specifically I pick up little bits
and pieces from a few people around but
it's really through my testing it's
really through my data-driven testing
testing lots of headlines testing lots
of different campaign functionalities to
see what ultimately works and I've
created and kind of synthesized my own
approach to running Facebook Ads
now if you don't know how to run
Facebook Ads yet I have two playlists on
my channel that you can learn that from
one is how to advertise on Facebook this
starts at the beginning how to get your
pixel how to get your pixel in place
your custom conversions and audiences
then I have the $5 a day Facebook Ads
strategy this strategy shows the actual
kind of higher level the more advanced
stuff of how to actually set up the
campaigns etc etc so the informations
out there for you but you have to become
skilled at driving traffic in order to
really truly grow a successful business
online having a funnel right the one
funnel is not enough the traffic that
you run through the funnel is key and
then the questions with the traffic is
how targeted how good of traffic how
pre-qualified is that traffic how big is
that traffic is that audience segments
that you're getting with your traffic do
they actually have the problem or are
you getting really really poor solo ad
rubbish traffic that you should never
play in that world at all right like
what is the quality of your traffic
traffic from organic content marketing
have you put in the two three years of
producing content non-stop to grow an
audience do you have your own email list
of people who've watched your videos or
gone through your blog posts and then
consumed your free giveaway and then
they've read your daily emails for four
months and you have a relationship with
these people do you have that high
quality source of traffic or are you
hoping to find some cold traffic hack
that's gonna get you the right people
right away
the closer to cold traffic you are the
lower your results are gonna be
throughout your funnel the more
important it's gonna be to have all
those kind of annoying pressure cooker
kind of conversion metrics that that may
work short term but long term they are
absolutely falling apart today in the
world of the internet marketing so you
got to have a traffic strategy in place
and this all seven of these pieces
together are precisely why the idea of
your one funnel way is doing you a
disservice it's like within that idea of
the seven things could can you say that
yeah there's a funnel in there of course
you can do funnels work of course they
do but there's so much more to the big
picture than just the funnel and you
have to be mentally ready to put in the
work on all of these different aspects
understanding who your audience is what
their problems are then learning and
getting the skills and skilling up with
that domain knowledge and the ability to
actually help them achieve their
problems then you got to learn
copywriting you got to be able to
communicate your ability to help them
solve their problems in a way that's
going to build trust and get them to
trust you enough in that moment maybe
you need to put out a hundred or two
hundred videos that really show you
giving value so you can give results in
advance first which is what Jay Abraham
always talked about one of the greatest
marketers of all times you gotta give it
results in advanced first through
content have you put in those two years
of putting out content for your audience
yet if not the funnel is probably not
going to save you the tech is actually
the easy part your ability to
communicate effectively before the sale
and then communicate effectively after
the sale and deliver on your big promise
that you made to them that's absolutely
clutch and then you got to learn how to
run drive traffic right like traffic is
a key whether you're using organic
content like YouTube marketing whether
you're doing blogging whether you doing
Pinterest whether you're doing paid
Facebook advertising you got to learn
and put in the time and effort to kind
of dominate an actual traffic strategy
in order for you to grow your reach
connect with new audience members grow
potentially your list ultimately grow
that relationship to trust so you can
help those people solve their problems
and it always comes back to the big
question can you and are you actually
helping people solve real problems that
they have in their life are you being
are you doing this with integrity right
do you have their best interests in mind
because
if you don't it's a slippery slope down
to being a sociopath and there's a lot
of sociopaths in the world of internet
marketing people who are willing to sell
things that they know don't work they're
willing to sell rubbish in order to make
their mansion payments and in order to
get those Italian supercar oil changes
that cost $4,000 per oil change that's a
that's a dangerous world there and you
see it sometimes it collapses in on
people people completely click quit from
YouTube out of nowhere because the the
pressure and the reality of what they've
been doing for years and how they've
crafted their life really kind of gets
to them and it eats away at them slowly
and we're seeing signs of that today so
