so if you've stumbled upon this video
there's a good chance you're looking at
different online business ideas which
you can start this year which will
hopefully make you a little bit of money
now I've been doing this for a number of
years probably around about ten years
making money online so I wanted to share
with you some of my favorite ways which
I think you can make money with this
year let's jump into it and take a look
at some of my favorite online businesses
that you can start this year so the
first one that I think that pretty much
everyone should get involved in is
heard about affiliate marketing
essentially what it is is being a kind
of a person who recommends products and
if they end up buying those products you
can actually get a decent commission
from it so the best kind of example is
the Amazon affiliate program this is
something that I've been in for around
about six years and it's a fantastic
program if you're just getting started
so take a bit think of it like this if
you've got a phone or something like
this and you can review it in that
review you could actually send a link to
Amazon and if anyone goes and buys it
from Amazon you're going to get a
commission now I'll take a look I'll
show you just here at my Amazon
Associates kind of dashboard here you
can see that you can actually make a
decent amount of money through the
Amazon Associates Program and this is
just from last year you can see that
last year in January I made nearly
$10,000 I made 8,000 in February 10,000
again in March 8,000 in April and you
can actually see that it's a pretty
consistent kind of income that you can
make every month now I do this through a
YouTube channel so I have a YouTube
channel about photography
it's called Chris winter photography and
I review cameras so the way that I do it
is that I generally will get a camera in
let's say it's a DSLR and it cost you
know a thousand dollars for example and
I'll do a really good review about it
and I might compare it to other cameras
or I might do a tutorial and how to use
it but once I am I've done that review
I'll put in the description box below a
link to Amazon and if it one clicks that
link whatever they buy in the next 24
hours I'm actually gonna get a
commission on so you might think okay
well it's just a camera okay well that's
not that much but it is whatever people
buy in the next 24 hours so it's not
just the camera it's if they also buy a
camera strap or if they also buy a pair
of shoes
or if they also buy their groceries I'm
gonna get a commission on it and how
much is the Commission well it's around
about four to eight percent so for
cameras it's four percent for
microphones it's seven percent for a TV
it's two percent not that much but if
you think that the camera is a thousand
dollars and you review it and someone
ends up buying it four percent of a
thousand dollars is $40.00 and if you
end up having you know three hundred
camera reviews which I have on my
channel you can see that you can make a
decent amount of money there are other
affiliate programs which I would
recommend you guys start with as well
the Shopify affiliate program which is a
website where you can create your own
online store this has been really
successful for me this year as well I've
been able to make a really good income
from this passively so if anyone signs
up for that free trial I and then gets a
paid plan which is around about you know
twenty nine dollars a month I make a
commission and you can see that with the
affiliate programs the slope of income
is actually pretty good so you can see
that I started out in November last year
and made three hundred and five dollars
which isn't that bad you can see it's
gradually built over and over just from
doing these reviews and things like that
so in January I made two thousand
dollars in February two thousand eight
hundred March three thousand April three
thousand six hundred
May four thousand it went down in June
but then it's gone back up in July
August September and just in October
I've made five thousand dollars just off
that affiliate program you can actually
see that these are the payouts that I
get through Shopify and it's every two
weeks you know it's it's two and a half
thousand dollars just from that one
affiliate program so if you let
marketing is great and that's pretty
much what this channel is about I teach
you all about affiliate marketing so if

now another business which I know is
kind of done and a lot of people have
done it before but it is creating a
YouTube channel and I really highly
recommend this now a lot of people might
switch off now and say okay oh I know
YouTube channels but the reason why I
want to show it to you is because it's
changing and the right way that it's
changing its ad rates are going up for
some people and they're going down for
some other people so you can take a look
at my dashboard here I don't mind
sharing it with you because I want you
guys to get inspired you can see this is
my main photography channel which has
got 400,000 subscribers and actually the
ad rate
- really dropping on this channel
they've gone down 29 percent I only made
$1,800 this month on this channel now
that's not bad
$1,800 is nothing to kind of complain
about actually didn't make any videos
this month that's probably why but what
I wanted to show you is that I have this
channel that you're actually watching
right now and if you take a look at the
stats here this will probably blow your
mind now I only may only got 88,000
views last month which is about what two
and a half thousand views a day but look
how much money I made in the ad revenue
I made four thousand seven hundred and
eighty seven dollars in ad revenue which
is absolutely crazy for that amount of
views so normally on YouTube you're
looking at maybe one to two dollars per
thousand views maybe a little bit more
maybe up to five dollars but let's say
two dollars it's kind of the norm with
two dollars at eighty eight thousand
views that would mean that I'll make
roughly one hundred and sixty dollars on
normal ad rep rates but on my channel I
was hoping to make four thousand seven
hundred and eighty seven dollars which
is really bonkers so if you take a look
at my playback CPM it's really high so
it's actually you know 100 dollars some
days actually on the last day of October
it was a hundred and thirteen dollars
for a thousand views and the reason for
this is because of the niche so I'm I'm
talking about affiliate programs and
talking about how to make money online
I'm talking about how to build a Shopify
website I'm talking about the best
online businesses like you're watching
right now and I want to share with you
that if you start a YouTube channel now
you need to really focus on the nature
it's not just about the content you make
and you don't have to get that many
views you don't have to get millions of
views a month in fact like I said on my
photography channel you know I'm getting
half a million views but I'm not making
that much money compared to this one
here which is only getting eighty
thousand views and it's getting five
thousand dollars a month so if you guys

to get your CPM really high like I've

start a YouTube channel but you need to
pick the right niche so another good
business to start is selling an
information product which is essentially
selling an online course now you've
probably been pitched an online course
by many people
lately you know they might want to sell
you from a YouTube channel or they might
want to show you from a blog and the
reason why they're doing this is because
they're highly profitable so one that I
wanted to share with you is a guy called
meet Kevin now meet kevin does videos
kind of similar to me but more on the
real estate side and you can see that he
has a number of different courses so
this one here is 473 dollars this one
here's $387 you can do coaching calls
with him for $1,200 but what I wanted to
share with you is that it's really easy
to create a course these days and if
you're knowledgeable about anything I'd
highly recommend creating a course even
if you don't think that you're gonna be
able to sell it the reason for this is
because once you get it up once you've
made your videos it's pretty much all
profit in the end so you can see that
he's created this course on teachable
calm I'll put a link in the description
box below if you wanna check them out
but they make it really easy for you to
be able to create a course and the great
thing with a teachable course is that
once you've made all your videos you
upload them and then people keep on
buying them so I could imagine that
there's you know at least ten people a
day buying his course and let's say at
you know $400 a day he's going to be
making $4,000 profit a day from this
course without having to do anything so
you know if you know anything so for
example for me I had no photography so I
could create a course on how to take
better photos at nighttime or how to
create
take better photos for weddings if I
sell that course for $500 and I get you
know ten people signing up for it every
month that's another $5,000 profit that
you can do and this is a really good one
I would love to make some more videos
about how to create a online course
because I think that this is a really
great idea because it's pretty much all
profit it just takes a little bit of
work upfront now I go on about this one
a lot but if you're just getting started
and you don't really know what to do you
don't really have a whole lot of clients
oh not that many people kind of know
about you I'd highly recommend jumping
on to fiverr.com and taking a look at
what other people are selling and what
other people are producing in order to
get paid so if you don't know what
Fiverr is essentially it's a website
where you can sell things for $5
well that's originally what it was like
but these days it's change people are
making a whole lot of money hundreds of
thousands of dollars a year up to
millions of dollars a year selling
things on Fiverr so for example you can
do voiceover you can do translation you
can do logo design you can create
articles you can do transcriptions so
let's take a look at this so let's say
we're gonna do logo design I search for
a logo so someone's gonna come to
fiverr.com and they need a logo for
their business this person here will
create one for around about $15 and you
can see this one here is gonna create
one for about $60 I'm in in Sweden so
that's why it's in Swedish Krona but
I'll show you just quickly anyway this
person is gonna create custom logos and
you can see that they've had 4252
reviews at five stars which is
absolutely crazy
so if you have any graphic design skills
I would highly recommend jumping onto
Fiverr and you can just find such a big
audience of people who are willing to
buy your products so like I said before
this is you can make five dollars for a
logo but what they do these days is that
they call a fiver like a $5 is like one
gig so it might cost 10 gigs or 10 $5 to
get a logo so you're not limited to
selling all of your things for $5 but
you can just make so much money let's
think this guy's got 4,000 reviews and
not everyone leaves a review but 4,000
times $60 is 240,000 dollars just in
logo designs and this guy I'm sure has
different different gigs that he's got
so he might do a logo design he might do
a website design he might do a brochure
design and you can imagine this is a
great way to get started if you don't
really have a big audience or you don't
have a website or if you just want to go
to a place where a lot of people are
searching for cheaper kind of design
this is a great way to get started
Fiverr is still one of my favorite ways
to make money online now I know what you
might be saying Chris I don't know how
to do graphic design I don't really have
any kind of those skills well then I
would definitely take a look at
upwork.com and I again this is I like to
reiterate these kind of websites so you
know exactly where to look up work is
similar to fiber but it's for
freelancers to find work so what I would
recommend is doing something like
bookkeeping or being a virtual assistant
so with up work you can go
you can list your profile or you can
apply for jobs which other people are
going to be providing so I actually hire
people on up work a lot because you can
find really good quality people who are
willing to work from the other side of
the world so you can be a virtual
assistant at your own you know in your
own apartment like I could be working
right now for someone in America or
someone in France or you could have
someone in the Philippines work for you
relatively cheap but I love the idea of
bookkeeping if you kind of good with
numbers or you're good with QuickBooks
or a0 you can take a look here this is
Robin she's making fifty five dollars an
hour
selling her bookkeeping services on on
up work this one here is in the
Philippines she's here but making $15 an
hour from the Philippines now they don't
make that much money over there as a
basic job so you can imagine that she's
getting really quite highly paid Lori
over here and in America is getting $40
an hour $50 an hour for Linda Kirstie's
making $45 Sharyn $50 an hour and then
if you really want to get something
cheaper you can go with someone like go
her who's doing virtual assistants stuff
he's only paying $5 an hour so you can
really see that you can make so much
money Mike here he is a you know he's
actually kind of a higher level but he's
paying he's charging a hundred and fifty
dollars an hour for his services and
he's made over two hundred thousand
dollars doing this you can really see
that you can make a whole lot of money
doing this and there's so many different
things so it's kind of like Fiverr for
maybe slightly higher standards so you
can see that you can do web development
mobile development design writing admin
support customer services marketing
accounting what I would recommend it
jump on to five jump on to up work and
take a look at the different job
postings and see hey could I do that
could I be a virtual assistant I hire
many virtual assistant who who have you
know kids in their stay-at-home moms who
are just able to help me do calendars
and emails and things like that maybe
post to social networks and things like
that and it's a great way to do a little
bit of extra work without actually
having to physically be there now I've
talked about starting a YouTube channel
but these days the hottest topic is
doing podcasts now if you can talk for
anything for a next
a period of time five minutes ten
minutes half an hour an hour two hours
I'd highly recommend jumping on anchored
FM which is a place where you can
essentially upload your podcast and it
gets shared to everywhere the great
thing with anchored FM as well is that
you can get paid from those streams as
well so if you don't know about
podcasting it's essentially where you
have a microphone a cheap microphone
like this point it cost like 50 bucks
you plug it into your computer or you
can even just use your phone as a
microphone and you just talk about
something these days everyone's always
listening to podcast when they're out
walking or they're you know doing the
dishes and things like that so if you
can talk about it it's a great way to
make a little bit of extra cash because
not only can you get paid through
anchored on FM but you can also do brand
deals and sponsorships you can also sell
your own merchandise you can do a Philly
at products like we were talking about
before it's essentially the you tube of
audio if you're not doing a podcast I'd
highly recommend it the reason why I
wanted to show anchor is because they're
really easy to get started so
essentially like I said they will kind
of distribute your podcast to a whole
different level different range of
network so they're going to upload it to
Spotify for you they're going to put on
Apple podcast they're going to put it on
Google podcasts they're going to put it
on RSS feeds and things like that you
get paid to do it and it's really easy
so if you haven't thought about doing
podcasting I highly recommend it you
know you can see all of the big kind of
youtubers and celebrities and things are
starting podcast now I know Joe Rogan's
got a big podcast do you logan paul was
got one
you know h3h3 I even saw that Angela and
Pam from the office they've started a
podcast as well so if you've got biggest
celebrities like that doing it I
definitely take a look at it podcasting
is great I might make a few videos about
how to podcast if you'd like me to do
that let me know but I think this is
kind of the future podcasting is
definitely one thing that I'd be jumping
into this year so these were a few
online businesses that I'd be jumping
into this year if you haven't started

channel here is really quite new this is
less than a year old this channel but I
actually have another channel which is
about photography and business sorry
photography not business this one's
about business about photography so it's
also about cameras and you know teaching
people how to use cameras teaching
people about white balance and stuff
which is going crazy because I've got
clouds going in and out but yeah I've
been to it for around about five years
so when I started off YouTube wasn't as
big of a thing as it was as it is now
you know you weren't really able to make
as good of kind of a a living on it now
there are so many people making a living
on it really getting a lot of views and
it's a great place I still love doing
YouTube I prefer to make videos on this
channel because it's more about my
passion now which is business and making
money online and stuff like that but I
do still enjoy making the occasional
photography channel video as well do you
consider a YouTube channel as passive
income I think it's a bit of both but
yeah I definitely think that YouTube can
be kind of passive income the reason why
I think this is if you make the right
kind of videos you can definitely have
this kind of passive income model
because what you're doing is doing a lot
of work up the front well a little bit
of work you might make a video which
takes you 30 minutes to do but you know
that video can be watched by people
every day for the next few years and if
you've set it up properly you know with
good ads maybe an affiliate product that
you're promoting or a sponsorship or
something like that you're going to be
continually getting those affiliate
commissions you're going to be
continually getting that Google Adsense
on those videos which to me is a
fantastic source of passive income so
yeah for sure I would think YouTube is a
great source of passive income what are
the best ways on monetizing a YouTube
channel well I mean there are lots of
different ways in which you can do it
and it's really going to come down to a
niche generally I'm always going to
recommend using Google Ads Adsense is a
great way to make a little bit of
consistent income and that's what it
really is for me it's a consistent
income because generally when you start
a YouTube channel you're going to be
getting a certain amount of views
consistently every day especially if you
going to have like a bit of a back
catalogue of your channel so let's say
you get a thousand or 10,000 views a day
you can generally know you're gonna be
maybe making you know five dollars a day
or fifty dollars day or a hundred
dollars a day or something like that
other ways of monetizing your YouTube
channel the next thing I'd probably look
at is something like affiliate marketing
so for example you can sign up to the
Amazon Associates Program
which is essentially a way in which you
can you know recommend products on
Amazon which is pretty much any product
in the world Amazon it's just got such a
large store and then if someone buys
those products after clicking your link
you'll get like a four to eight percent
commission on that so let's say for
example someone buys a camera I have a
big photography channel as well which
you know someone might buy a camera for
$1000 four percent of that is gonna be
40 bucks so if any time someone buys a
camera for $1000 I'm gonna get $40
commission which is pretty good and that
it can add up as well other ways of
monetizing your channel you can do
merchandise I think that's really good
but you need a very loyal fanbase
because people aren't just going to buy
t-shirts for 30 or 40 dollars if they
don't really like your channel but
merchandise can be another one and also
doing Brando's is a great way as well
sponsorships you'll generally get a lump
sum you know maybe $1,000 or $5,000 to
do like a one-minute plug was something
in your videos so there are lots of ways
