Can People Change? DECIDE Who You Want To Be Right Now

hey guys Stefan here from project light
master comm I want to answer a quick
question that I received from someone
earlier today in a webinar it's a really
great question that I really want to
answer and share with you guys the
question is do you believe that we can
define who we are and it's a great
question I believe the answer is
absolutely yes we have the choice and
the ability to define who we are and if
we want to be you know in my case in my
experience who I was before was shy
introverted depressed negative you know
as a c- student in high school in fact I
should failed a few classes I skipped a
lot of school I was addicted to video
games didn't have very many friends
didn't have a girlfriend you know and I
believe that was who I was like that was
my identity that this is me and I
believe that was me and I couldn't even
change and when you believe that you
can't change and that this is who you
are then you're not gonna take any
action or make any effort to change
yourself because you just have been just
accepted that this is who I am and I
can't change and that was me for most of
my life early in childhood and
everything when I was in high school and
I was very blessed to have come across
self development came across Tony
Robbins when I was 17 years old and some
other resources as well and Tony made me
believe that I could change that this I
wasn't limited just to my behaviors
because one of the things that I learned
is that that wasn't really who I was you
know if you have depression that your
negative and your shining interpret it
all that sort of stuff that's not you
you're so much more than that that's
just a pattern that you've been running
it's just a behavior that you've learned
you've learned that you developed that
you modeled that but that's not really
you because who you are so much more
your Creator would never limit you in
that way who you really are at your core
it's someone who's happy someone whose
confidence someone that has ability and
is capable of achieving things that has
higher self esteem that's that's who you
really are but it's these negative
patterns these habits is that you've
developed then a cloud in that and you
believe and you define that as who you
are and you're so much more than that
for me when I discovered the self
development I but I shift that believe
hey wait a minute I can change I can be
whoever I want to be I can define my
life moving forward and the qualities I
want to be and I start I started to do
that I sort of set goals for myself I
started going to acting classes improv
classes public speaking classes I was
very shy that was the way that I did to
push my comfort zone massively because I
wanted to become comfortable with
discomfort started going out and meeting
people doing things that scared me I'd
approached a girl that I found
attractive and I was too scared to
approach so I've made myself do it again
and again and again so I can become
comfortable with it so I could bring out
different sides of my personality and
create a new identity for myself as
someone who's confident someone that can
meet people anytime anywhere whenever I
wanted to by pushing that I challenged
my old identity of who I was and I
started to develop some new patterns I
did morning rituals I went to seminars I
read hundreds of books hired many
different coaches I went on the process
of self-development because I had to
believe that I could change and I could
define and create the life that I really
wanted and that belief of knowing that
you can change and believing it you can
change there's a lot of power in that
you know when I was in high school
I'm sure if you guys a quick experience
it has in high school you know people
would make fun of me right among other
people as well but because I didn't know
who I was I accepted whatever it is that
people said I haven't I hadn't defined
myself I didn't have an identity so when
people said you know you're a loser or
you're nerd or you're stupid I was like
I guess I am you know I didn't I don't
know who I am I guess I am what other
people have decided and define me as and
then I got to the point where I realized
hey wait a minute they don't have other
people to find Who I am I define who I
am
I get to decide right now who I want to
be in what I stand for I can create my
own identity and I decide you know I'm
not stupid I'm not dumb that's just a
label that other people put on me what
I'm gonna decide to be right now and how
I'm gonna define myself is that I am
confident I am social I am intelligent I
am capable of creating things of
achieving things of having whatever it
is that I want and I started
condition those new beliefs within
myself and started telling myself that
and I shaped my new identity of who I
was who I wanted to be and as a result
your behaviors come from your beliefs
whatever you believe and your identity
is an extension of how you think how you
behave and so by changing those beliefs
it changed my entire life and I totally
believe that you have the power and the
ability to define who you want to be
what you want to have but you're just
gonna sit down and you got to decide you
got to decide whatever it is that you
want to be because it is within you and
you just have to access that part of
yourself you know we all have these
incredible parts of ourselves that we
haven't even accessed or tapped into but
they're there and there's a side of you
that's confident there's a side of you
that's happy that's blissful that's full
of joy and ecstasy the side of you have
gratitude a contribution or whatever it
is it's all within you but you just have
to unleash it you have to bring forth
those sides of yourself and start to
experience them more often it starts
this by defining who you want to be and
start to live it live those emotions and
live those parts of yourself and guess
what you will become that it'll be part
of who you are and for me my old
identity is something that I can't even
relate to there are still parts of me
those sides of me that aren't
introverted and depressing all that but
they don't run the show you know whereas
before they're the most dominant side of
me
whereas now I've learned to kind of yeah
I don't need those parts of me they
serve me at that stage of my life they
were there to protect me to serve me but
I don't need them anymore instead I've
cultivated the other sides of my
identity and that's how I define myself
today so there's a great question I just
really wanted to answer that that you
can define who you are you can change
but you got to believe in yourself that
you can and you go to take action you're
gonna define yourself however you want
to be thank you for the great question I
won't mention who it was but it's a
great question and I'll see you guys in
the next video
