hey miles Becker here and this video
we're going to talk about how to get
organic traffic from Google now Google
is by far the largest and most kind of
intriguing traffic source that is out
there right now Google's doing something
like 3.5 billion searches per day which
equates out to trillions of searches
every year so every search if you think
about it every search is actually
someone it's an individual who's going
out and looking for a solution to their
problem they might be looking for a way
to achieve their goals but generally
speaking on Google most of the traffic
is actually going to be people who have
problems in their life that they're
trying to solve whether it's trying to
find a local carpet cleaner because
their problem is a dirty carpet or
whether they're wondering why they have
AK off that's been lasting for a month
and they're they're asking dr. Google or
they want to learn how to lose weight or
they want to learn how to feel more
grounded and connected spiritually
whatever it is in this day and age
people don't really ask their friends
and family for tips on a lot of these
deep and kind of almost embarrassing or
just topics that they don't want to talk
about everyone refers to Google and we
all have our kind of trusted confidant
and our trusted search partner who's
Google and people go to Google and they
search out actual keyword phrases trying
to find solutions to their problems and
if you're able to get your website to
show up as the answer that shows up in
the number one spot for a highly
to tap into a large stream of traffic
that can last you for years and years
and years now the way I'm going to
explain it here I'm going to break it
down simply it is important to remember
that it takes a lot of work it takes a
lot of time and energy to rank
organically on Google there's a lot of
competition out there in the world
there's not too much competition there's
still room for you but it does take work
and it takes really kind of committing
to the process for at least six months
straight if not a year
or two and if you're going in the Google
organic traffic realm you need to be
either a great writer or you need to be
willing to hire out a writer and get
some really stellar content going so the
first thing we need to talk about what
is Google's goal and in all of these
traffic videos we're going to have a
moment where we need to recognize and
remember that Google's goal or whatever
platform we're talking about the time
right now it's Google Google's goal is
an excellent user experience for people
who are googling things so when I go to
Google and I type in a search phrase say
it's how to get organic traffic from
Google Google's goal is to give me the
most relevant items and the most
relevant pages on the entire internet
that they've indexed to that exact topic
now this word relevancy is and relevance
it's so imperative you know there was a
time in Google traffic when you could
game the system and you could kind of
force
less than relevant content to the top
but Google is just constantly adapting
their search engine algorithm they're
introducing AI in order to really kind
of understand the user behavior from the
searchers side of things and from the
content side of things to make sure that
when a user searches for a phrase
they're indeed getting the most relevant
item to that phrase because when that
user goes and searches for the keyword
phrase they find a very relevant item in
the first spot they click on it they
read it and they get the answer to their
problem that user is more likely to go
back to Google in the future when they
have other questions and problems and
that is Google's ultimate goal to make a
great user experience so those users
keep coming back and continue to use
Google because Google ultimately sells
advertising that displays all around the
organic search results and that's how
Google makes money so the more people
coming and doing searches on Google the
more ads Google sells so if you help
Google deliver relevant content to goo
users you get rewarded with rankings and
traffic I hope that makes sense you
always got to keep in mind you always
going to play by the rules that are
being put out by whatever platform
you're on
so relevance is the name of the game for
Google so the first thing you need to do
if you're looking to get organic traffic
is you go to the keyword tool and you
can go literally type into Google
Keyword planner and in the AdWords tool
set Google has a keyword planner tool
which allows you to search and find the
exact phrases and the monthly search
volume for the exact phrases that people
are searching in your niche now I
covered how to use this tool in another
video I will link to this video in the
description below so ultimately the
first thing you do is you go get a list
of target keywords now keywords are
there's kind of two phrases in the
keyword realm that you'll need to
understand and that's short tail and
long tail keywords a short tail keyword
is one or two words so like traffic or
Google traffic would be a short tail
keyword and the competition is going to
be really really fierce for these kinds
of keywords what we want to focus on are
what we call the long tail keywords
these are the four to seven word phrases
that have between I'd say a hundred and
a thousand searches or queries per month
these are the ones that it's very
possible for you to rank for in this day
and age and I'm recording this in late
2016 and there's still plenty of room at
the top of Google for you to get your
pages and your posts up there to begin
driving traffic so for example the short
tail phrase would be traffic
web traffic or Google traffic the long
term phrase would be how to get organic
search traffic from Google or how to get
organic traffic or how to get organic
traffic from Google these phrases are
searched between 50 and 250 times per
month depending on which variation and
by creating a great guide for people
that's very comprehensive
and that really covers all of the points
and it links out to any of the resources
that are needed and really establishes
like an authority post on this idea then
you're able to get that potentially
ranked in the first spot of Google
ultimately there's a lot less
competition for these longer tail
phrases and you're able to get on the
first page more easily meaning you can
get more traffic so we take the keyword
phrases we do a bunch of keyword
research and we're looking at we're
creating a list in a notepad file or
something of the five four and six word
phrases that are really relevant to our
niche then what you want to do is you
want to actually go google all of these
phrases you want to type in exactly just
to google.com and look at what's
currently ranking what's currently in
the number one two and three spot for
this phrase now you'll notice there
might be advertisements around it would
be kind of in a highlighted area and it
would say add in green you want to skip
those we're only looking for the organic
results which are separate from the ads
because the organic ranking engine is
what you're trying to figure out and
what you want to do here is look at
what's working right you want to read
the blog posts you want to see are these
long posts are these even talking about
the topic that you thought you were
talking about you want to make sure that
your niche is indeed relevant these
should appear as competitors of yours
and if so you're in the right spot and
you're going in the right direction so
then your goal is to create an excellent
piece of content now you can look at the
different kind of ideas and concepts
that are covered in these top posts and
you're going to want to cover those same
ideas but you're going to want to do it
better than they do and you're going to
want to add to it and you ultimately
want to create something that's going to
be like the comprehensive guide to
whatever your keyword phrase is you know
there's a SEO course out there if you're
interested in investing in a course
it'll teach you how to do all of this
the SEO that works course by Brian Dean
is indeed fantastic but you don't
necessarily need that I would recommend
looking at backlinko com that's ba CK
i NK o comm this is Brian Dean's website
and he's using the strategies he teaches
in how to structure content to generate
lots of organic search engine traffic so
if you're able to go to backlinko comm
and read through his blog posts you will
see the types of content that he's
publishing and what he's doing is
working he's one of those experts that
you want to model if you're going in the
direction of creating organic search
engine traffic you'll notice he has
ultimate guide posts you'll notice that
he has infographics you'll notice that
he has what he calls shareable content
the goal is to create a very
comprehensive resource that answers your
users or Google's users questions so
clearly so profoundly that that person
actually wants to share the content with
others and say hey everybody you know on
Facebook or whatever it is
hey I've been looking to figure out how
to get organic search engine traffic
before and I couldn't figure it out and
then I found this post post and Wow
it really cleared everything up and when
your content is that good good enough to
be shared good enough worthy of people
telling their friends about it you've
got the right level of content and then
if you want to really take it to the
next level you can reach out to other
people in the niche other people who
would like to link to your resource and
there's a way that you can do what's
called like an expert roundup post where
you write a post that talks about not
only do you put your ideas about how to
solve their problem or answer their
question they have in their keyword
phrase but you also linked out to all of
the other blog posts that rank really
well that answer the question in a
unique and different way and what you've
created at that point is a resource and
this resource essentially it's your idea
your opinion written out but then it
links to all of the other experts who
also help prove your point
making for a post that's way more
valuable than something just you wrote
then you're able to reach out to all of
these other people
you kind of linked to in the post and
you let them know hey I just wrote a
comprehensive guide to how to get Google
traffic organically and I found your
post about organic search traffic I
thought it was great so I included it
take a look at the post here I included
a link to your website now when these
other content creators receive this
email they're going to be excited
they're going to feel wow you know
somebody picked up and syndicated or
linked to my content and the odds of
them a linking back to you and be
sharing your posts on social media are
very high because everyone likes to
stroke their ego a little bit and say
wow look at look at Pat myself on the
back you know what a good job I did here
my post was so good I got picked up in
the top ten how to get organic search
traffic from Google post and they have a
real high likelihood of sharing it and
that sharing signals to Google that
indeed your content is worthy of ranking
highly now the unfortunate part about
going in the Google traffic world is the
Google organic traffic world is that you
don't have much ability to force your
way on to the first page right there's
no real shortcut here so if you're going
in this direction you need to realize
that you're going to have to really show
Google that your content creator you
create content with excellence and B
you're going to be there for Google
creating content in the long term and
this is where I recommend doing
something like a 90 day kind of
challenge where you create one blog post
focused on one keyword phrase every day
for 90 days I'm doing this on video
right now today is day like 48 or
something like that of me every single
day putting out a video my goal is to
trigger YouTube's algorithm to show
YouTube hey I want to be one of your top
one-percent content creators I'm going
to create more valuable content and be a
publisher on your platform more than
most people in my niche and my goal with
this is
by the end of day 92 really shown
YouTube that I'm around for the long
haul and then I deserve traffic so if
you're going on Google search engine
rankings and you're going after Google
organic traffic you want to do the exact
same thing with blog posts so to do this
every day you would go to the Google
Keyword tool you would search for a four
to six word keyword phrase that is very
relevant to your topic very relevant to
your niche and answers a very specific
question in the eyes of your target
market you would then create an
excellent blog post and when I say
excellent I'm talking it needs to be
full of content no fluff no filler it
needs to have great content inside of it
that is really truly going to answer
their question and it's going to be so
good that people when they read it
they're going to want to share it so if
you're just trying to crank out a 500
word article and move on you're not in
the right place anymore that was 2 or 3
years ago that that kind of worked and
for everybody who it did work for for a
short period of time they probably got
slapped by a Google algorithm update and
it's no longer working the people who
are really still getting and earning
traffic for free from Google and it's
not free it's earned traffic but organic
traffic from Google are people who are
putting in the work they're really
digging deep and they're really creating
excellent content so you have to get
there you have to do this right you have
to truly be thinking of your visitor and
the google visitor who's searching for
the problem and you really have to
answer their problem if it takes 2,000
words if it takes 3,000 words you've got
to commit to doing what it takes to
fully answering the question to fully
giving them what they need to know in
order to move on and kind of mentally
cross that off of their their list
whatever it is your niches or what
they're searching so once you've created
that excellent post you want to use some
sort of a plug-in in your WordPress site
to allow you to control the description
and the title of your post and you need
to make sure that the title of your post
contains your keyword and the
description of your post contains the
keyword the description of your post
also needs to
call the user to action to click your
link because those are the two things
that show up in the search engine
results if you're on WordPress go ahead
and grab the Yoast SEO plug-in it makes
it really easy to add a title and to add
a description it automatically populates
this content for you but really you want
to override that automatic kind of
generated content and you want to make
sure that your keyword is clearly stated
in the title of the post in the
description and that you're also writing
about the keyword in the post itself you
don't want to put the keyword in too
much because Google doesn't like it when
people do things called keyword stuffing
so you really got to keep it kind of
concise when it comes to the keyword use
variations of the keyword phrase in your
text but ultimately your goal is to be
the best answer on the internet for
someone who's searching for the question
which is the keyword phrase itself
really I've kind of done a very broad
overview of this concept it takes a ton
of work you need to have a natural
inclination to be a writer in order to
truly succeed with this and you need to
have patience you need to be willing to
delay gratification for a while in order
to write write write post post post
without seeing great results but if you
stick with it and do a 90 day challenge
towards the end of the 90 days you're
going to notice that your posts from day
one day two day three are all driving
traffic and your newer posts are
starting to drive traffic as well and
that's when you get the compounding
power of traffic from Google now my wife
and I started this process of publishing
on Google literally like eight years ago
or nine years ago and we're still
publishing on Google very regularly at
least one or two high quality posts
every single week
we've always survived every single
Google algorithm update and it's because
we've always focused on writing great
content 100% unique content no trying to
cheat the system just really truly
showing Google that our website is a
powerful comprehensive resource for our
niche and once Google kind of gets that
the reward is long-term
traffic to our old posts and quick
traffic to our newer posts and that's
the situation we're in now and every
single day we write a post the first
thing we do is we go to the Google
Keyword tool we search for the phrase we
figure out how we're going to title it
we figure out what the phrase is going
to be and then we write the most
comprehensive post we can and I invite
you to join me on this path if organic
traffic is something that you're going
to be doing go ahead and leave me a
