hi I'm miles bechler and in this video
we are gonna talk about how you can get
organic traffic from YouTube now the
first thing I think is important for you
to kind of recognize or realize is since
right now and this for me is about video
number 50 in a row in 50 days literally
a video a day I believe my actions speak
really loudly about what my beliefs are
in using YouTube as kind of a marketing
media in order to build an audience and
to get a message out
I'm extremely Pro YouTube right now and
like I said I think my actions prove why
now let's look a little bit deeper right
so YouTube is owned by Google and has
been for a very long time
so what's one of the big benefits here
is that a lot of what works on Google
also works on YouTube there's big
similarities and they're algorithms and
how they're based on the keyword phrases
so I've covered in the Google video
which you've probably already watched
and also I have a video about Google's
keyword planner tool now the same exact
functions are used when creating YouTube
videos and trying to build an audience
on YouTube so the first thing I do is I
go to Google's keyword tool and I search
for what are the phrases people are
actually searching that are relevant to
my niche I'm looking for like four to
six word keyword phrases that have
between a hundred and a thousand visits
or searches per month on YouTube this
tells me that it's going to be
relatively low competition phrase and
it's gonna have enough traffic available
for it to kind of be worth my time to
create a video so for example in this
video I did a bunch of searching around
organic YouTube traffic how to drive
traffic from YouTube how to get organic
traffic from YouTube in order to figure
out what to title my video as what
description to put in my video and what
keywords so there's a lot of overlap
here which means you can kind of play
the same sort of SEO game another kind
of trick you can do on YouTube which is
great is putting in long descriptions
inside of your YouTube video
descriptions Google is analyzing or
YouTube is analyzing all of the words
that you
so as it reads these keywords in these
phrases and these concepts that you're
writing about that are relevant to your
video you're ultimately getting even
more potential exposure from that
content that you plug into YouTube and
if you look back some of my most recent
videos don't actually have much
description because I haven't had time
to write those but if you go to the
older videos I've been putting out and
some of the ones in my playlists you'll
notice that I often write 500 to a
thousand words about the topic in the
description in YouTube as a way to
really show Google and YouTube both that
I'm one of their preferred content
creators so for a quick minute let's
look at what's YouTube's goal right
because in organic traffic we want to
make sure that we're working within the
goals of the platform themselves so
YouTube is funded by advertisement sales
there's two types of ads there's the pre
video ad that plays and that's the one
you have to wait for sometimes to get to
the video that you want and then there's
that lower ad box that pops up in the
middle of the video from time to time
the third way they make money is with
YouTube red where a user is able to pay
YouTube to display zero advertisements
but that money still kind of rolls in to
the advertisers themselves and YouTube
so ultimately it's kind of a reverse or
negative form of advertising if you will
that's still revenue generation so with
a revenue C revenue stream for YouTube
that is based on advertising what that
means is the more videos people view and
the longer people stay up spent on
YouTube watching videos the more money
YouTube makes right so how do we help
YouTube achieve their goal we create
great content we create engaging content
that gets users to watch more and more
videos helpful content relevant content
that users truly like how does YouTube
know what content users like well they
have the liking system the thumbs up the
thumbs down they're tracking that they
also have the comment system they're
tracking how many comments you get how
much engagement you get through comments
but there
also tracking all the way down from your
title your description they even run a
like a kind of an automated closed
caption or transcription of your video
to really truly try to understand what
your video is about and then they run it
through their algorithm so when a user
searches for how to get free traffic
from YouTube or how to get organic
traffic from YouTube they're gonna look
through every video that's ever been
uploaded and they're gonna try to find
the most relevant video that has the
highest positive engagement over time
which means comments and likes and
thumbs up etc they also track how many
views your channel has and how many
subscribers your channel has and they
look at these and they run what's called
an algorithm and based on their
algorithm they'll look at all of the
other videos so when someone searches
how to get organic traffic from YouTube
this video is one of the options that
YouTube has to display to the user who
searched that and there's also hundreds
if not tens of thousands of other videos
that I'm competing with and Google runs
an analysis on all of these and in an
instant it chooses the top ten and
actually puts the top hundred or so in
order and you as a user you get to see
all of the different videos now one of
the really cool things that I love about
YouTube and I think is great for YouTube
kind of marketers is that every video
you create is a long-term asset you know
YouTube the numbers of people going to
the Internet to watch video the number
of people watching TV and video on their
own time leaving cable and using an
internet video only it's a really strong
trend so I feel like we're riding the
trend being YouTube marketers here and
ultimately every video you create will
continue to connect you with interested
people for months and years to come
like I said I'm doing a 90 day challenge
right now we're on creating 90 videos in
90 days on YouTube my channel started
with zero subscribers and zero videos
and zero views and this is my personal
challenge right I've had the belief that
YouTube was a worthy media for my time
and energy and this is my way of
actually doing a test of how much reach
can I get YouTube really likes people
who are consistent publishers
because as I'm putting out more content
and growing my subscribers every time I
put a new video all of my subscribers
are notified when those subscribers come
watch my video it's an opportunity for
YouTube to display another advertisement
and effectively potentially make
additional revenue right there
so you get to actually partner with
YouTube in creating content on their
platform they run advertising you can
actually get a take of the
advertisements if you had ads turned on
and if you have an adsense account tied
into it you can actually earn a portion
of the advertising revenue that your
channel and your videos create that's
not why I'm doing this
this is merely an audience building play
this is merely a play for me to get my
ideas out and to really kind of get out
from behind the scenes of my internet
marketing business that I've been
running for like nine years and start to
help you grow your business ultimately I
will be driving traffic to an email list
with these kind of videos but at this
point in time I'm literally just testing
a new media source so one of the things
that's required for you to move forward
with a YouTube marketing plan in order
to get organic traffic from YouTube
you've got to be able to create videos
and the technology to do this in this
day and age is really really simple so
right now I'm just on my cell phone I've
got a very inexpensive Mike called the
iRig mic lav it's about a $35 mic that
plugs into my cell phone and I'm
literally recording you on my cell phone
with a small tripod you can even use
something as simple as the webcam on
your laptop and something as simple as
ScreenFlow on a Mac or if you're on a PC
you can use screencast-o-matic which is
less than $30 most of us have cell
phones in our pocket this day and age
that have cameras and video recording
software built into them so the
technology side of things is really
actually quite simple that's not the
hurdle the hurdle is more of a mental
hurdle a lot of people don't like to see
themselves or they don't feel
comfortable on video and you really do
kind of need to have a level of comfort
on video in order to do this over and
over and over again
that's why in a previous video we
covered the idea of you know know
thyself right you got to know what your
strengths are and you got to work within
your strengths because when you work
within your strengths everything else
comes easy for me sitting down turning
on the camera and recording is actually
easier than sitting down and writing a
blog post that would communicate the
same message
I don't enjoy the process of writing I
don't feel like my grammar is all that
great I kind of write like I talk which
is these run-on sentences and it just
kind of go drones on a little too much
and in person through a video that I
believe is communicated a little bit
more effectively also my time is very
valuable I don't have the time it would
take me about three to four times as
long to write this in a blog post and
publish it as it does for me to create
it in a video format and send it out the
cool part is I can then strip the audio
from this file and put it on SoundCloud
as an mp3 kind of almost like a podcast
I can then have it transcribed by a
transcriptionist and I can actually plug
the video the audio and the text onto my
blog to create even more content on this
same topic now I don't have the time to
do that I'm still running a successful
business so I have literally just enough
time to get these videos out every day
and hopefully in the future I'll be able
to kind of leverage this content to the
next level but it's a great way to
initiate the content if you're the type
of person who's comfortable speaking and
you're comfortable on camera ultimately
I do believe that YouTube traffic is
great traffic I think building a
platform on YouTube is a worthy use of
your time but it does need to be in
alignment with your personality now if
you haven't watched the video I made on
how to get organic traffic from Google
be sure you watch that and if you
haven't seen the video on how to use the
keyword planner tool be sure to watch
that because the keyword planner tool
and the concepts used in creating
content for Google to get traffic are
very very similar to YouTube the only
real difference is the media in which
you communicate and in this case of
course on YouTube it's a video based
communication if you have any question
about YouTube marketing if you have any
questions about how to get going or the
equipment that's being used etc go ahead
and leave me a comment below I'm happy
to answer your questions and if you
would like to get the next videos as
they come out on the different topics
and the different traffic sources to
fill your funnel with interested
prospects leads and customers click the
subscribe button so you can get the next
videos as they're released thank you
very much for your time
I'm Myles bechler and I hope you have a
great day
