I'm going to show you how I make over a
thousand dollars a month on YouTube and
how you can do the same as well and
really I'm also going to show you how
you can make thousands and thousands
more on the back end because although
$1,000 a month might seem pretty cool on
YouTube there's actually a lot more
potential to make a lot more money on
the back end if you really know how to
monetize your YouTube channel and I'm
going to show you guys exactly how I do
that in this video so right now I'm
logged into the project life mastery
YouTube channel here in the dashboard
here are some of the stats from a
YouTube channel since I started it back
in 2012 I think January and February of
2012 since then 3.4 million views around
59 thousand subscribers and I'm
recording this video by the way in
3 or 4 years over the last 28 days these
are kind of the regular stats that I
have one hundred and eighty eight
thousand views per month basically watch
time 1.3 million minutes per month
around 3400 subscribers from per month
and around $1,100 per month as well now
YouTube is linked with Google Adsense
and so the money that I make from this
is from the YouTube program I'm not a
partner of any other advertising
networks that are out there these are
basically just the ads that advertisers
are able to use to advertise on YouTube
videos so I'm sure you guys see that the
ads that show up before you watch a
YouTube video as well as maybe banners
or ads that happen during YouTube videos
as well that's basically what this
earnings is from it's basically just
whatever the default settings that are
have because I haven't optimized that in
any way whatsoever but basically that's
what the earnings are from and each
video that I have is monetized and
certain videos obviously make a lot more
money than others based on advertisers
and what they're bidding on based on
different videos this is what my youtube
channel looks like just the channel page
if you guys subscribe this is what
you'll what you'll see I think I have
like over 300 videos that have published
and really I will mention at the
beginning when you first start a YouTube
channel it's actually very very slow
no one's really watching your videos and
your YouTube channel doesn't have any
authority on YouTube yet so when you
first start putting out videos you're
not going to get many views at all but
what you have to do at the beginning is
you just have to keep putting out
content and what's going to happen is
just by relentlessly putting out content
you're going to have certain videos that
will get some traction people will like
it they'll view it and that will lead to
some more subscribers and that will
start to grow over a period of time so
really at the beginning it's very very
slow but once you get to a point like I
am right now where you have a lot of
subscribers then you're basically able
to put out a video and immediately get
thousands of views immediately be able
to rank videos on YouTube and their
search engine and it just has a very
powerful effect so that's a really
important thing to keep in mind is when
you're first starting just put out tons
and tons of content and make sure the
content is good and if you just keep
that up over a long period of time then
you'll start to get traction for me it
took about six months before my YouTube
channel really started to grow and I had
videos that started getting over a
thousand views now when I put out a
video because all my subscribers get
notified of it a lot of my videos get
over a thousand plus views right out of
the gate which is really useful because
the way that YouTube ranks videos and
promotes them on their website is the
more engagement that a video has the
Moke the better it's going to rank on
YouTube and the more that they're going
to promote it so basically what that
means is the more views the more
comments the more likes the more the
longer that people watch videos to the
end in terms of the engagement more
subscribers that that video generates
the more subscribers that you have on
your YouTube channel all of these things
are really important factors that will
help em help you to rank your videos
better in the search engine but also if
your videos are popular they'll start to
have your videos appear next to other
videos on YouTube as well so they'll
start to promote your videos for you if
your videos have high engagement and so
that's why it all starts with high
quality content and putting out as much
as possible now how do you make money
from YouTube and what's my strategy for
that and what would work best for you as
a beginner the best way to get started
with YouTube in terms of making
onion at least getting views and start
putting out content that is related to
what people are searching for on YouTube
so you have to approach YouTube as a
search engine it's actually the second
biggest search engine in the world after
a Google people go to YouTube and
they're going to search for certain
keywords so for example someone might
search for how to make money as an
example and as you can see there's all
these different videos that appear here
well the videos that are going to appear
first are the ones obviously that have
an authoritative YouTube channel they
have a lot of views they're popular
because again YouTube wants to rank what
people are watching what they're
interested in so if they determine that
your video is popular they're going to
rank it really highly so that's a really
important aspect but as you can see
there's certain keywords that people are
looking for and these keywords you can
optimize for with your YouTube videos to
have them show up on YouTube so let's
see if I can find some videos of mine
how to stop binge meeting this is a
video that I did it ranks number two for
the keyword this is an ad here but I
created this video and they optimized it
for the keyword how to stop binge eating
and emotional eating once and for all so
when people search for that they're
going to find my video here which is a
really high quality video over one
hundred thirty thousand views right now
and you know it ranks for it again not
the cut not just because of the views
and everything but because I have the
keyword here in the title of the YouTube
video so you want to make sure you
optimize your YouTube videos and
basically the content that you're
creating is optimized for the best
keywords possible so for this video here
if I were to click on it and see by the
way an ad that shows up so I actually
make money from this video here alright
so you can see that I have the keyword
binge eating here how to stop binge
eating again another keyword right here
in the description of the video as well
as as well as in the title stop binge
eating right there as well if you come
down here I put in a little keyword
section I put in some other keywords
like how to stop binge eating it as well
so I usually put in the
keyword at least three times in the
description as well as in the tag
section as well for my videos and that
will basically help you optimize it for
YouTube the search engine you can also
transcribe your video and add the
transcript to it and basically have
keywords in the transcript as well which
is another thing that YouTube looks at
so optimizing and for the keywords is
really really important and one of the
best ways by the way to find the
keywords is just searching here on
YouTube just how to whatever typing in
phrases or words that you think people
might be searching for well when you do
that YouTube's going to tell you what
people are searching for they're going
to fill in the blank and they have a
system it basically tells you and
suggests you other phrases that people
are searching for another great tool for
finding keywords I forget what it's
called but let me try to find it here oh
here it is keyword tool dot IO and you
can actually use in Google or YouTube
just put in a phrase and I'll actually
tell you so if I put in binge-eating for
example it will tell you all the
different key words and variations that
people search for so here's all
different keyword ideas that you can
look for and then there's also YouTube
section here as well which can help you
out so again all things that people are
searching for on YouTube so you know if
you for example add a YouTube channel
related to binge eating then you can
create videos on all these different
keywords and try to rank them on YouTube
and when people search for them and find
your videos you know you're going to get
more subscribers that way it's just a
great way to build your YouTube channel
and get a lot of views so in a nutshell
I mean that's just the basics of how to
get views and one strategy that I use to
be able to build my youtube channel I
don't do that for every video that I put
out but a lot of videos that I have are
keyword optimized and rank really well
on YouTube now another strategy as well
in terms of making money is through the
backend so you can make some good money
just from your you know the ads that
display here on YouTube but really you
can make a lot more from things like
affiliate marketing
basically promoting other people's
products and getting a commission from
it or you can make more just by
promoting your own products your own
services building an email list you know
promoting your Amazon product a Kindle
book whatever it is that you want
there's so many other ways that you can
make money from your videos because your
video basically is something that is
providing value and content for people
it's helping to solve their problems
it's engaging for them it's telling
stories it's building trust a
relationship and it just allows you to
offer more solutions to people and be
able to monetize that on the backend so
let me give an example of video I'm not
even sure of this one how its ranked I
haven't looked at it in a long time but
this is a video that generates me money
it's on Vitamix review and oh my it
still does so this is the video here
this is back when I had hair but when
people search for everybody makes review
which by the way is this really amazing
blender they're going to find this video
that I put out two years ago this we
asked 32,000 views and basically when
people are searching for different
reviews on Vitamix they're going to
click on the video you can watch my ads
is will help they'd like and I'd make
money from that but once they click on
it on the description here I have a call
to action and that call to action is to
get Vitamix and this link here is
actually an affiliate link so when
people click on this takes them to the
Vitamix website and when they buy a
Vitamix through my affiliate link that
is click through then I get paid a
commission for that so I'm making money
by promoting Vitamix because Vitamix has
an affiliate program that you can sign
up for let's see if they have it here on
their website they don't but if you do a
google search that you can find Vitamix
is affiliate program so if I go to
google vitamix affiliate program you can
see they have an affiliate page here
where you can become a Vitamix affiliate
and I don't even know how much they pay
I think they pay like I don't know 30 40
50 dollars per sale or something like
that but anyways this video here has
made me thousands of dollars just by
doing this just by putting up this video
one time back in 2012 or 2013 sorry
published in 2013 and it's made me
thousands of dollars and I don't even
have to think about it ranks in YouTube
it's got a lot of engagement it's a good
video and people that are obviously
interested in Vitamix so it's just
another way of making money from YouTube
as a strategy that I utilize as well
another great way to is you know
monetizing or optimizing this
description so in this description here
you can put links to whatever you want I
have links to different products that I
have here so people that are interested
in more about products that I might be
selling they can click through and check
them out you can put affiliate links in
here you can send people to your blog
which I do here as well have a blog post
you can ask them to subscribe to you to
channel I also have an email landing
page where they can go to and enter
their email address and then once
they're on my email address I can offer
other products that I might be might
have or other affiliate products so as
you can see the amount of money you can
make from YouTube is much greater than
just these little ads you have here in
fact when you first start on YouTube I
actually recommend that you do not use
you actually turn off all the
advertising on your channel because
advertising actually is going to bring
down the engagement a little bit of your
YouTube channel and prevent you from
growing as much as you can and really at
the beginning you're not going to make
much money anyways from the ads because
no one's really watching your videos
just yet usually when people watch a
video you want to make sure you engage
them right away in the video and you
know if you if they have to wait five
seconds a lot of people might just click
the X or move on to another video or
something else might distract them and
so you know the engagement of your video
is going to go down a little bit so the
ads that you want to turn on here if you
want to utilize that as a way to make
some extra money I do only recommend it
once you might have over a thousand
subscribers and your videos are getting
at least a hundred views then it might
be worthwhile to turn on and make some
money from it but before then I will
just focus on putting out tons of
content helping people making sure the
contents optimal
as for keywords and really when your
content is good and it really helps
people people will want to subscribe to
like it the comment they'll share your
videos they'll keep coming back for more
so really high quality content is the
ultimate way of being able to profit in
YouTube or any online business a blog
whatever that might be just putting out
tons of high quality content and by the
way your YouTube channel doesn't have to
be related to what I'm doing right now
it could be a comedy channel could be an
entertaining channel it can be how to
channel it can be a music channel there
are so many opportunities on YouTube far
greater than what I'm doing which is
basically the how-to education market
there's so many other opportunities out
there for you to be able to profit from
YouTube so that's basically it that's
how I make money from YouTube putting
out tons of high-quality videos turning
on the YouTube ads trying to increase
the engagement of my YouTube videos
making sure to optimize and rank for
different keywords on YouTube being able
to monetize the videos and the
descriptions and by the way you can
monetize the videos by using annotations
and cards that's another great way to
have a call to action as well as even
just having a call to action or video
and say hey guys if you want to know

in the description and instructing them
and having a call to action there's so
many strategies of what you can utilize
but hopefully this quick video just kind
of help you out a little bit and showed
you how I make money from YouTube and
how it's done and and really there's so
many ways of making money online YouTube
is just one way and to be honest with
you YouTube is actually pretty hard to
make money from this thousand dollars a
month considering all the amount of time
and money that I put into it there's
really so much more opportunity out
there on the back end and other other
ways of making money that are far
greater than YouTube but YouTube's just
one strategy that is useful for any
online business that can allow you to
have another diversified
passive income stream so hopefully you
